Clean and well kept shop. All the people there were very kind and professional. Thats what the 5 stars is based on. Unfortunately my car (mk5 jetta) did what cars normally do when you take them to the mechanic...it ran fine. Of course as soon as I got it home it started acting up again, and every day since...and now its not in the budget to fix it. I bought a code reader and when I clear the codes the little red steering wheel on the dash goes away and my power steering comes back on. I guess Ill just have to live with it a little longer.

Finding a mechanic that is honest and trustworthy is not always easy, but that is exactly what Vintage provides. They clearly explain the services, and the pricing is very transparent. They did not try to upsell any additional work that was not absolutely necessary. Most places I have been try to add additional services to pull in more money, but Vintage did not. They genuinely care about the work and the client.

Vintage Auto has done all the work on my volkswagen and audi. They really know their stuff and go out of the way to provide quick, affordable, and knowledgeable service. I wouldnt trust anyone else with my cars. They recently replaced the intercooler, radiator, radiator support housing, sport differential, driver fender, and installed my rs5 conversion bumper & lip with a new rs quattro grill on my Audi s5. I couldnt be happier. As always, amazing work. Seriously, this is the place to go for anything audi, volkswagen, or honda.

Great experience. Brought an Audi S6 in that has extensive modifications and they were very easy to deal with. Had new catless downpipes installed and will be going to them to install high pressure fuel pumps to aid in the added power. When I first call to this business I spoke with Kim who was so kind and friendly. She took the time to look for my part while talking with me then ask me could she call me back so she could look further. Within 10 minutes later she return my call. Two days later I took my car (Volkswagen beetle) in for observation and immediately a mechanic was helping me. He let me know that he couldn’t get the part that I needed but would repair what he could to make it better and he did. Thank you all for your kindness, time mange, and service.

I had an issue with my 2016 Audi A6, EPC light came on and check engine light. Vintage Auto was able to diagnose the issue in no time. Changed the part and had my car up and running in no time. What a gem of a service this is. After being underwhelmed and overcharged at the recent Honda dealer, I decided to give this local shop a try. They repaired my problem for a fair price, and were extremely transparent/honest about secondary issues that I brought up; they counseled me on how my brakes should feel with the current parts instead of just doing unnecessary work. Vintage Auto is a keeper and if my first experience is any guide, Ill be a customer for life.

Made an appointment because my Golf GTI was having issues with my transmission. Walked in and chatted with them real quick, before they even took my car in the owner said let’s take a look at the car. We walked outside and he checked it out, and literally solved the issue right then and there. Didn’t even charge me anything for the trouble. If I ever have any troubles I will be going to them, and they also specialize in European cars. Absolutely 10/10

These guys are truly great! Took my 02 VW beetle in for oil pressure issues. They found the fault and repaired it quickly. The cost was very reasonable. As long as I have a VW I will be forever a customer and I have never even spent a dime in this place. Ben is so super nice and professional; while he is very knowledgeable and passionate, he took his time to explain the issue with my car and could have EASILY taken me for hundreds of dollars, he instead educated me on my warranty and asked me to take my car back to the dealership where they should cover it and they did.Its important to mention not even the dealership did that! Kim was also just as pleasant and just simply amazing from enter to exit! Never once did these folks make me feel like I couldnt understand what was happening with my car and just treated me like a customer; not a woman with no clue. My old Honda CRV did not want to shift. I was ready for a big repair bill & a few days with her. But the got to her right away and we honest to tell me a really cheap repair was all that was needed! They explained the diagnosis and got me running the same day! Excellent, honest service!

I’ve come to vintage auto twice now and always very professional and helpful. I came for performance side of the shop and have been pleased both times. They definitely will take care of you and explain everything they are doing.

I live less than a mile from Vintage Auto, I originally contacted them to do a secondary diagnostic on a car i just bought. My intake manifold was bad, Kelly greeted me with a smile and was so welcoming and friendly. After the diagnostic, David gave me the pricing for it to be fixed which was roughly between 4-500, David (the owner mind you) advised me to go to the dealership to have it fixed bc it was still under warranty. He allowed his business to go without a sale to do what was in my best interest. Recently, my beautiful 2012 VW EOS would not start. I called the dealership, they prices $750. After i called Vintage, they took my call with excitement and they remebered me and the original issue i came in for. They called me when my baby was delivered, when they finished running the diagnostic to tell me what was wrong and when it would be ready. Ive heard and experienced many many many horror stories about mechanics breaking things to get more services done, upselling, and being plain ol dishonest. This is not that place. David and Kelly are true to their motto, Doing whats best for the customer. They are trusted with my car anytime i have an issue. If u are in the South Carolina area i.e. Greenville, Taylors, Greer, Berea, or even Easley, this shop is worth the trip. They will do what is best for you, not what will make them the most money. Me and my wife had been having problems with our Jetta malfunctioning and not firing on all cylinders we had used a mobile mechanic first who put in spark plugs and then had another mechanic put in a brand new coil pack all for nothing it’s still kept doing the same thing we brought it to dave@vintageauto and he found one problem and then another which ultimately fixed it the service is wonderful they are very professional

Ive been here a few times, replacing my breaks/rotors, tire changes, and most recently a mirror replacement, and each time they have given timely fixes and the price was equal to or lower than what I was quoted anywhere else.The most memorable one was for my tires where they quoted me a price for all 4 tires, I agreed to it and when they were doing the service the following week I got a phone call where they had reduced the price by over $100 as they had accidentally quoted the price for different tires. Good integrity on their part when they couldve kept the higher price and I wouldve never complained.

I brought in my GTI to get a fuel filter done at this place. While the service I payed for was done correctly and had no issues, I got home and realized my reverse light was always on and one DRL light was off....I called back and spoke to the owner letting him know my issue and that I thought maybe they didn’t reset the computer right or something. He didn’t seem to care about my issue and brushed it off trying to avoid being at fault. I’ve spent money out of my pocket to try to remedy this and no one can fix it. Idk what happened and what was done for my car lights to break like that but it has left a sore taste in my mouth for this place :(Update: I want to take my car back and see if you could diagnose the light issue. I’m willing to give it another chance since there was an apparent change of ownership. I’ll be calling soon.

Vintage Auto is a wonderful and honest mechanic. I am out of state and my daughter who lives in Clemson was in need of service on her Audi. This was the first time the car needed service while my daughter had the car in Clemson.After getting an expensive quote from the Audi dealer, I decided to check out Vintage Auto as an option since they specialize in Audi’s. Donald and his crew were able to fix the car (AC problem) and additionally performed some routine maintenance that was needed - all at a reasonable price. I actually saved thousands compared to the price quote from the Audi dealer and had more services performed. Donald took the time to answer questions and communicate with me and my daughter through the process. I am very happy with their service and would highly recommend.

Dave saved me a TON of money over the Audi dealership!! Not only that, but his quality of work and his timeliness was spot on! Once he started on my TTRS, that’s all he worked on until it was completed. Replaced the bevel box after a one-in-a-million failure (Audi admitted they’ve never heard of that failing before...), as well as installed an APR downpipe and stage 2 tune, Wagner Evo 2 FMIC with integrated crash bar, front splitter, and he also takes care of two 900hp/1200hp R8’s owned by a friend of mine. 🤟🏼👌🏼🙌🏼

I would try to buy your car somewhere else. I bought a car here about a year and a half to two years ago and I finally got around to writing a review. When I bought the car the transaction was smooth, they were a little hard on the price, but that just comes with a used car dealer. I was going to have a mechanic come take a look at the car just because of the stories i have heard about used car dealers, but the sales rep told me their mechanic had done a full inspection of the car and had paperwork to prove it so i took his word for it (bad mistake). Less than a week after I bought my car from there I was driving down the road and theres smoke blowing out of my hood and radiator fluid spilling out below my car. Obviously I couldnt drive it home, and I was stuck on the side of the road at midnight. I had some people take a look at it to find the problem because I couldnt see where the leak was. The thermostat housing unit was completely busted open, not a huge repair thankfully. I called VP auto sales and politely asked them to pay for the labor to fix the part, they refused. They were quite rude, and we got into an argument with the owner over the phone, saying I bought the car the way it was and a deal is a deal. Obviously this is negligent being that the sales rep assured me that the car was completely fine with no issues. Couldve sued them if it was something like a blown head gasket or transmission failure, nevertheless they either do not check their cars well before selling, or they know what is wrong with them and sell them to you anyways. Good thing I had a friend as a mechanic, still costed me $250 though. Dont buy from here. I know they will respond to this with some refuting comment but take my word for it. You dont want to be stuck on the side of the road a week after you bought your car.

Great service! Turns out the used Audi we purchased elsewhere had the oil pressure wire cut so the light wouldnt come on. Metal in the pan, needed a whole new engine. They found one quickly anf got it put together well before they said it would be done. Very thankful for these guys!

(Non-local Review) The guys at Vintage Auto are incredible!!I’m from PA but go to school in Greenville. Twice when I was in a serious bind Vintage Auto came in clutch and did an incredible job.One time when I was trying to leave for home last minute they put aside what they were working on to take my car in and fix it as quick as they could so i could get on the road. While they were fixing they did some free maintenance checks for me because they knew I was going on a long trip and wanted to make sure I was takin care of.Just recently they did excellent work diagnosing the problem that was sending an engine code on my VW CC and did the work at a great discount because once again, they took the time to hear and understand the situation I was in. After fixing my engine they even replaced a sensor in my parking brake system for FREE just because that’s the kind of shop they run.Their quotes are more than fair, the mechanics are extremely friendly and their excellence excels both mechanically and relationally. Couldn’t be more satisfied!

Ive brought 3 different cars to Vintage and there diagnostics of the problems have been right on the mark. Their prices have been lower than any other shops Ive gotten estimates from and their service has been quick and professionally done. I would suggest anyone bring their cars to Vintage due to their good service and honesty.

We dropped our GTI off on Wednesday and got it back that next Tuesday! There were so many issues we were having with it and they fixed everything we addressed with them. Other places will not work on a built engine or were booked out to the end of the month, but they took it in with no problem at all. Price was very reasonable and Donald was very thorough with telling us what they had done to the car and what they recommend replacing later on. We will definitely return to them to get the other items done when time comes.

Good people with great service. They installed new air suspension in my 2006 Audi A8 a few months ago and did an awesome job...would recommend them to anyone that needs repair on their vehicle. I have taken two VW vehicles to Vintage Auto for APR tuning. David Munsey was a huge help in recommending system components for each of my tuned vehicles. He listened to my questions and did not try to convince me to tune my vehicle beyond what I was looking for. I appreciated his concern for my dollar; as he spent time showing me alternate performance products on line that might give me greater bang for my buck. They handled ordering the parts I wanted & had them delivered directly to them, we set an install date & time and all work was done very timely, professionally, and without any issue. I thought that I would have to take my VWs to Charlotte or Atlanta to have service performed by an authorized APR dealer. Took my moms car here a couple of months ago to confirm whether it had a blown head gasket and if so how much pressure was the car holding and where. The car was smoking and had white stuff in the oil that did not resemble the traditionally concerning milky look associated with a blown gasket, nor was the car getting hot. I paid about $70.00 in diagnostic fees only to be told what I already knew, it might have a blown head gasket and a ridiculous quote to fix it . Well turns out another shop who cared enough about an elderly lady making her rounds, informed me that the smoke was from a leaking oil drain plug AND there was no blown head gasket issue. I feel as though Vintage owes me diagnostic fee, however if $70.00 is worth my opinion, well a $70.00 opinion is what you shall receive. I came to google prior to my visit thinking I was going to a caring trustworthy place, and only hope to save future prospects.In my opinion they had too many other bigger paying projects going on and because of my moms car age and stating that I wasnt looking to make another huge investment in the car after paying more than 2k for preventative maintenance on a Honda weve owned and properly maintained for more than 20 years and plan to drive 20 more, I was offered to purchase one of the vehicles for sale on the used car lot and a generic diagnostic fee of $70.00.

I cant say enough positive things about the folks at Vintage Auto. My wife and I just moved here from East TN and we were looking for a mechanic for our 2001 Jetta. Our first call was concerning some plugged up sunroof drainage cowls. Instead of charging me $20-50 for a simple procedure, Steve simply talked me through finding and fixing the drainage hoses inside the door hinge area. (+1)Next, I needed some timing and general tune up service a couple months later. Steve went out of his way to help work with my schedule so that I could get a better idea of some possible tune up options. (+2) During multiple discussions neither Steve nor Donald put any pressure on me to bring my car to Vintage for a service. (+3) --Simply put, Steve and Donald earned my trust as true professionals. Cant say enough good things about Donald and Dave (ALL EMPLOYEES) at Vintage Auto. I have been bringing my cars there for almost 15 years and have ALWAYS regretted the few times I strayed elsewhere due to time constrictions or convenience. Luckily Donald has always been able to fix me right up.

I dont write many poor reviews but this one sticks out in my mind even 5 years later. These guys did a decent job usually, but one time they changed a clutch in my jetta, drained the transmission fluid, and never put it back. I drove to Winston Salem after my grandmother died and the transmission was kaput. Rather than admitting to the mistake (which I would have forgiven) said they would replace transmission at cost so I had to pay for materials. I would have still used them if they admitted that they made mistakes and that they did. But now I finally got the courage to buy a new Volkswagen and would probably never use them again. You can go through my hundreds of reviews and find very few bad ones and zero other one Stars.

Im very happy to say that I have been going here for about 10 years. The professional attention to detail and workmanship are incredible. Don and his mechanics are great to work with and will always tell you about the work they perform and at a very competitive price. Specializing in VW and Honda. You cant go wrong.

Took my 2017 GTI here to get the APR tune done. They were right on time with my appt. and got the ECU tuned up in about an hour. The tune is awesome if you are looking to get a big jump in HP without a ton of mods. This shop is awesome bc they are quick, professional and friendly. Highly recommend.

Yo i was in a tight pinch with my car and i took it to these guys and they took care of me, and not just once. This place is probably the best VW shop within 100 miles of greenville.

This is a great shop. Finding a good mechanic is harder than finding hen teeth but Donald at Vintage is great. He has worked on my Ghia and always has it ready when promised and the work is top notch. I will have them helping me with my Ghia Restoration and feel confident about the quality of their work and their scheduling.

I stop in at Vintage Auto when I need anything from service parts for my air-cooled VW to odd-ball parts that arent normal stock items at most parts stores. The guys always seem to have what I need or at the very least know how/where to get it. The service I receive is always friendly and knowledgeable and I would definitely recommend this shop to others.

Great and fast service! Its apparent that the owner and workers really cares about the work they do. I took my Jetta TDI in because it was leaking fuel by the injector pump. The seals needed replaced and they were able to get me in the same day. I got a call the next day that my car was done. When I picked it up one of the mechanics that worked on my car told me about how he checked my car again really quick before I picked it up and made a last minute adjustment to help it turn over faster. He was very friendly. The owner greeted me and made me welcome while I was there too. I will definitely bring my car back here and I will tell friends about it too.

I took my Volkswagen better to get fix a month ago; the mechanic said it was just a plastic flange than said it was water pump, thermostat, and coolant issue. My mother paid him $1,220.00 the Same day, he told me to bring it back that Monday and it was a 8 hours job, he than kept asking me to make sure that I had someone to pick me up. ..DONALD the owner messed up my mothers car and than called me STUPID when I ask him about why I was having issues. ..Im seeking legal actions !!

Courteous and quick service, had them give me a second opinion on a vehicle (VW Tiguan) and got the vehicle in driving shape so that I was able to trade it in. Owner is down to earth and the shop does have a vintage feel. Does not have all the amenities of a newer car dealership service center, however they will give you a honest assessment at reasonable prices.

I cant say enough good things about these guys at Vintage. Donald is a stand-up guy and the rest of his guys are very good at what they do. I bought a 06 Jetta TDI from him and I am very happy with the vehicle and the buying experience.

As a woman I often feel that auto mechanics try to take advantage of my lack of knowledge. Not at Vintage Auto! They explain everything to me and make sure I understand and agree to the repairs. Ive been taking my VW here for three years. I wouldnt trust my car to anyone else. The staff are knowledgeable and helpful, they always try to keep my costs low, and I feel confident in the repairs and maintenance made to my vehicle. I recommend Vintage Auto to all VW and Honda owners.

I had a problem with the lower hose on my radiator not getting warm and no heat ins tide which I thought would be the water pump so I called the local VW dealer and Vintage, who quoted me about $300.00 less than the VW dealer, took it to Vintage who agreed that it was the water pump and completed the job the same day as advised. They took time to show me what had happened and showed the bad part to me when it was replaced. The also took the time to show me other things that I should be aware of that should be taken care of in the future. I would highly recommendthem as I think they are honest and trustworthy, which is hard to find in a mechanic.

I brought in my sisters volkswagen in to have the air conditioning looked at. I explained to the owner that It was my sisters car and I had already taken it to another mechanic that found the compressor and right fan to be bad. I asked owner Donald Keller if he could look at it, and let me know if there would be any charges before he did any work. He had me sign a form authorizing 300 dollars of parts/labor and told me he would call me to let me know either way. He called me a few days later, with a list of charges of parts and labor totaling over $1000. I told him that I could not afford that and he told me my sister could pick up the car anytime as she needed it for work. Upon arriving to pick up the keys he tells her that she owes $118 dollars for a diagnostic fee. I speak to the owner over the telephone and in a condescending attitude he tells me that he doesnt work for free and that he didnt have to inform me of that fee because I signed a release. It was implied that he would check it out as a courtesy, and when we didnt have the work done with him he charges a diagnostic fee which had not once ever been mentioned. My sister was then told by Donald that she could pay $78 and to get out.

Went in a few months ago to get an oil change on an 07 GTI because it was near my house. I was quoted $100 for a synthetic oil change!!! I then explained to the gentleman that I was only needing one oil change. He didnt find that nearly as humorous as I did. I then went to Steve White and they did it for $60 and had me in and out in less than an hour. I wouldnt let these people work on a moped.

Donald and his crew have been nothing but great. Had my GTI serviced there for 3 years, no complaints.

Getting a second opinion there saved me $3500. They know what theyre doing with VWs.

The guys put a catalytic converter on my 01 Jetta Wagen while I waited. Took maybe 45 minutes to finish the job. Enjoyed the intelligent conversation while the installation was in progress. They told me what I needed to get rid of the pesky check engine and it has disappeared. Got 3 more mpgs on the first tank of gas after the work. Donald is not a pushy service rep, he knows the cars and what they need to get healed. Listen to him. Ill be back.
