Dave Basil always keeps me updated on the progress and goes out of his way to accommodate any scheduling needs that I have.I have had a lot of cars over the years and dealt with all makes and models for service and this entire team is truly top notch.
The sales consultant provided a professional, no-pressure sales experience.He was knowledgeable and proficient in presenting all features of the Mercedes Benz Vehicles.He was receptive to my needs and assisted me in selecting the the right Mercedes Vehicle.He also assisted in finding financing for purchase of the vehicle.All told, purchasing the Mercedes Vehicle was a pleasant experience.

I don’t have much of a complaint about the sale, however, the service department is HORRIBLE. I bought a 2018 Mercedes 250 CLA 2 months ago and a week after I had it, the brakes started acting up. They started to rumble and shake. I called my salesman and he asked if it was sitting or raining recently and said that could be the issue and to just pump the brakes a few times and that should take care of it. Well it didn’t. I was coming back from camp today and was going about 60 on the turnpike and anytime I hit the brakes the ENTIRE car would shake. On top of that, my apple car play hasn’t worked since day one. There is black brake dust all over all 4 of my wheels. I call the service department to get an appointment, they tell me it will be 5 days until they can get me in because four of their service technicians were on vacation, WITHOUT a loaner vehicle, which the salesperson said they would do when we first bought it. He also said that they would be able to pick the vehicle up from our home if we weren’t able to drop it off. I am a nurse and my time is very limited so this was a nice thing to hear. Today I was told that wasn’t going to happen. The car shouldn’t even be having these problems to begin with so when you have a car you just purchased 2 months ago that’s having problems on top of dealing with a very poor service department, it leaves a very bad taste in your mouth. I then called the Mercedes dealership in Pittsburgh and they are getting me in first thing tomorrow along with a loaner vehicle. Bud Smail just lost a customer for life. My first Mercedes was bought there but will most certainly be my last.
Bud Smail is the best Mercedes Dealership in Pittsburgh. Troy ordered for me a custom order C43 and he kept me up to date on the build and when it will ship and arrive at Bud Smail. Troy is an excellent salesman as truthfully I felt like his only customer as he answered my texts within seconds. The staff at Bud Smail Mercedes is top notch as everyone is super friendly and very helpful. I will only buy my future Mercedes cars at Bud Smail.

This was by far the best car purchasing experience Ive ever had. The people at the dealership were all friendly and all connected on a personal level with me. I love my new Mercedes the only thing is that the engine light keeps coming on, but my sales representative, Tyler promised theyd get it taken care of for free so Im not too worried about it. I cant wait to return in the future for my next Mercedes.
I went for an airbag recall . While there I asked to get an SRS fault reset. That takes about 2 minutes even if you don’t know what you are doing. I was charged 85 dollars for that service. I am guessing that the labor rate at your shop is about $2500 per hour. Once again ridiculously over charged at Smail. Just once I would like to come away from there feeling like they care about their customers and realize that nobody actually has a money tree in their back yard. seems like all they care about is how much they can get away with charging you. The fee started at $158 before I objected. $158 for two minutes of a mechanics work. That is insanity!!

First, i was coming in to buy a car at noon, discussed with the sales person that morning, got a phone call at noon saying car is sold. You need to have some principle in life.I ended up buying the same model from elsewhere, when i called their service dept/concierge regarding unlocking the mercedes me app they refused to help,Asked me to go back to the other dealer, fyi this is done via software at any dealer, when pressured they took my name/number. Guess what? Never called.Its my fault for actually contacting them the second time, their customer care was reported to Mercedes corporate North America, its shameful you are allowed to carry the Mercedes star.

We recently have been relentlessly shopping for a new luxury vehicle & even stopped into several dealerships...After weeks of looking with interest here & there in purchasing a vehicle but couldn’t find any REAL help or when we said we would think about it, they would change their tune, price etc. Far from ok.Then we found Scott working at Mercedes off the 30 who was different, classy & beyond professional. The staff as well is willing to share insights to just about every question we (hubby was going to kill me but it’s a big purchase) wanted answered for a long time. The entire staff & financing were patient, kind & courteous. Also the bathroom was clean which is a HUGE one for me. Sorry it is! Anyways more than willing to share direct answers. Always genuinely wanting to find out (not to impress my husband or me) but because it was the right thing to do. Thank you sooo much guys!!!Update:Chris & I love it! They had the car for 2 days and said it was ready. We went to pick it up only to realize the air conditioner still didnt work. That was $1,200 later. So we had to leave it again. Shouldnt the air conditioner been checked to make sure it worked before calling us. Not too happy.

This place seems to charge more than the standard on services. If the average upkeep on the vehicle is $739 a year, they charged me this for one service. I would not recommend this place; however, the unfortunate part is they’re the only Benz dealer in the area so they monopolize.

My wife was diagnosed with breast cancer, and the last thing we wanted was an unreliable vehicle to transport us back and forth for treatments. After a lot of research, and some frustration with other dealerships, we settled on Bud Smail of Greensburg. The negotiation on our 2016 Buick, was painless, and we were able to wrap the whole thing up in less than 2 hours of arriving. We did notice a slight vibration in the steering, so after the surgery and treatments, we took the car back to the dealership. With the help of Cory our salesman, and the knowledgeable service team of Smail, they were able to identify and fix, in short order. Smail went above and beyond, what they were required to do. My sales associate Paul was professional and friendly and he drove the car to an area with less traffic so i could test drive the car. I took my car in for service on a Friday. Not only did it need service but they also needed to fix the back seat as it would not fold properly. Mind you. This is the second time for this repair! They gave me a rental to use for the day. I needed the rental for errands. Service person told me I could drop the car off with receptionist when I was done with my errands. I drove back that evening only to find out my car was not finished! I had no updates on my phone. The next day the technician called and said he finished my car. I paid him over the phone and picked my car up later that evening. I received a call Monday morning. He said he’s not pointing fingers but he accused me of scuffing the paint off the bumper! Unbelievable! Would never recommend nor buy from this dealership again!
Buyer beware!!! If you are buying a used high end Mercedes from this dealership you will not be getting a certified vehicle. We have owned a 120k G63 for 2 months and it has spent 6 weeks in their shop. The problems are endless, and started week 2 after the purchase.

Purchased a 2018 SL63 convertible. The salesperson we had knew nothing about the vehicle. We were hoping the salesperson would take the time to understand the details about the car when we scheduled our appointment. That did not happen. We purchased from out of state and requested information about whatever might be less than perfect on the car. There were a couple of things that the salesperson did not notice and were a surprise when we arrived. The carpet mats were missing and the ones we were provided do not fit the car. The dealer since has provided the correct floor mats. There were also some heavy scratches on the door sills that were not mentioned. The vehicle was Certified pre-owned, however, it seemed one of the 2 batteries were dead from not being charged in the showroom, ultimately we found that the roof when folding in the trunk does not raise properly when the trunk is opened. Also, one of the trunk flaps does not lay down flat when the top is down. These items should have been caught with the Certified pre-owned inspection. The repairs to the roof were not under warranty, however, the dealer did cover the cost of this repair. The car was displayed in the showroom and had lots of fingerprints etc. We asked that the car be wiped down well due to COVID and we were driving the vehicle 9 hours home. We were told this would happen, but it did not. Dealer since offered to reimburse us to have the car fully detailed. In the end the dealer did try and rectify the issues.

I had to have my Mercedes towed to Bud Smail Mercedes in Greensburg. From the moment I contacted them through the whole process of getting my car back, I was kept informed of what was going on with my vehicle. I highly recommend the service dept. Mike was my service advisor and did a great job. I am highly satisfied.

My car was picked up in Thursday at 10:00 and sat there for two days and the weekend without being worked on. It was going in for an inspection and to be detailed. I finally called on Monday morning wondering where my car was because no one called to update me, and found out they hadnt begun to work on it. Inexcusable. Blamed it on COVID19. Please. If you are backlogged then you take a persons car WHEN you are ready to work on it.

This review is only about parts and service at Smail. I did not buy a car here.Polite professionalism and a comfy office doesnt always mean good automotive service. Thankfully, it does at Smail. I took my older but much-loved car for some official, full-priced Mercedes service. The team worked hard to unravel the mysterious and peculiar German ailments afflicting my E320 wagon, keeping me posted throughout. It also graciously revisited a couple of small lingering issues after I picked the vehicle up. The parts department was also very helpful. I left with a brand new tailgate at a reasonable price, now being installed at another business.I knock off a star my review only for the somehow-affiliated body shop, where I was prepared to spend a lot to revive and preserve the graceful beauty of our cherished car. Alas, that end of the business appears to be only interested in insurance work. When the body shop person told me the first time that the repairs would cost more than the blue book value of the car, I told him that did not matter in this case. He nonetheless repeated this no less than five times, as if I were cognitively impaired. When he did allow a few questions, it became clear he had only examined a photo of my car -- and seemed to know very little about MB cars of that period any way. Im thankful that he convinced me to have the repairs done elsewhere.
Kurt was very good to us. There wasnt a lot of pressure to buy. Brian the sales manager dropped in from time to time to help during the negotiations. It was a very good experience and ultimately we bought the SUV so you know it couldnt have been that bad. I feel like we got a decent deal.
My service with Bud Smail Motors over was very good, but the sub-contractors used to complete the repairs was very poor. Dave and Art did the best they could during the almost 5 month ordeal. Repairs where to the instrument gauge cluster, radiator and radio. The radio only marginally works with a repair bill of $320.00 - I feel that sub-contractor took advantage of the repair and as I said still doesnt work properly. Dave and Art kept me informed during there entire process.

Easy, fast purchase! I did not want to be at the dealership for hours after deciding on what vehicle I wanted waiting for loan approval and processing. Signed the papers, they did the loan processing after I left and I picked the car up the next day. Easy, fast transaction. Sales people were very professional and informative.

Scott Powell is a great asset to the Bud Smail organization.I had been to other dealerships, where they either do not listen or you are a number to them. My wife sent me a picture from the web of a certified used vehicle at Smail to look at and I called and got Scott on the other end of the call. He listened and payed attention to the details of what I wanted. My wife and I went down to the dealership during a snowstorm, where Scott had the car pulled into the service staging department (inside) and had it and another cleaned off and in the warm garage for me to look at. We reviewed the vehicle and I asked what else he had on the lot that I could look at. Since the roads were bad we came back on Saturday where Scott had both the first car and a second new car waiting for me to test drive. Scott was finishing up a test drive with another client at the time, Craig and Stan (GM) helped me to the car I was interested in, answered questions, and took me on a test run while I was waiting for Scott to finish with the client. It is nice to see that they assist each other with every client.Smail has a real great team at the Mercedes Dealership. This is the second Mercedes I have purchased from Bud Smail Motorcars in Greensburg. With my first one the service was wonderful during the sale and after. Any questions or concerns I had were dealt with courteously and professionally. They also communicated special events and offers regularly as well as checking to see if I was happy with the car. So when it came time to purchase a new car I did not even consider another dealership. This time the purchasing experience was even better, they treat you like an old friend rather than as a sale. They took the time to explain all my options and made sure that I was completely happy and understood everything about my new car. Dave even pulled up an instructional video when my cell phone did not immediately pair up with the car. He took the time to make sure that my phone was working with the car before I left. He also personally checked to make sure that the car was spotless before I took delivery on it. If you are looking for a new car and want to be treated exceptionally well you definitely need to go here and talk to Dave or anyone else at the dealership.

This was my first visit to Smail Motors for service .Mike was extremely nice and helpful. My husband and I recently purchased a used Mercedes from a different dealer out of town while away on business. Mike and his staff treated me as though we had purchased a brand new car from them. Great attitude to have. How the service department treats us does influence where we purchase our cars.
The Smail Mercedes dealership is a beautiful brand new building, and everything is first class, starting the with people on the phone, to the service advisors, and throughout the operation. Everyone is professional and courteous; all work is done to perfection. They always have a new loaner car for me, and the only thing they ask is that I replace the gas I use.
I have made the decision to no longer take my car to Bobby Rahal. I have a Mercedes and I have had multiple issues with Rahal. The first time I went to Bud Smail Mercedes was due to a flat tire. They have been nothing but over compensating to us. I had issues they were able to resolve quickly and at a reasonable rate. I can almost guarantee the repairs Bud Smail did would have cost several hundred dollars more at Rahal. The customer service is some of the best I have had, and I worked at Disney World. A straight forward and honest service advisor, Matt Nimick, is by far the best. The extra little things he does, puts my faith and trust in Bud Smail Mercedes. THANK YOU!!!! I brought my car in at 9 am for a 35,000 mile checkup. Inwas given a loaner car and told it would be about 4-5 hours. Mike checked in after 3 1/2 hours and said it would be about a half hour. I pulled in and my car was waiting for me! Great customer service!
Great service. No shortcuts. They listen to your concerns. Will come to my home (1.5 hrs) to pick up and deliver if I request it. Car is returned having been thoroughly cleaned inside and out.

Mercedes Benz: The Best or Nothing?I started out with Nothing when my E350 broke down on the Pennsylvania Turnpike around 2PM Jan 10th in what seemed to be the middle of nowhere. MB roadside assistance was very slow to respond, but finally a flat bed truck showed up around 3:15PM, and off we went to Smail Mercedes. I had called ahead to let them know about my problem and its probable cause -- a failed serpentine belt -- and that I wanted it fixed the same day so I could drive home. Once we arrived around 4:15PM, MB went from Nothing to the Best. The service team jumped into action even as we filled-out the paperwork. Based on our earlier phone call, they had pulled the needed parts. And in less than one hour, my car was sitting outside the dealership fixed and sparkling after a wash.Everyone I encountered on the Smail staff was extremely friendly and helpful. A good sign was that the other customers in the service lounge were in a good mood because they were being treated excellently, too. About a two hours after I was on the road again, I got a call -- my service advisor was checking to make sure everything was okay. A very nice and thoughtful touch.While I do not wish anyone to have their car break down on the Pennsylvania Turnpike, I can strongly recommend you take your Mercedes to Smail for service. I have never been treated so well by a Mercedes dealership.
