I called Hodge Garage to see if they could help with getting our license plate removed to put our new NC plate on. The bolts had seized up from the corrosion of the salty winters up north. I was able to get in the same day and Wayne did an awesome job getting those stubborn bolts out. When I went to pay he said there is no charge and welcome to the area! I highly recommend Hodge Garage if you like indie shops instead of going to the dealer. I will be back for my future automotive needs.

I first stumbled on this gem of a business when I was in search of a new mechanic. This was recommended, and even though skeptical, I was in a pinch. I had been told that the alternator on my vehicle was bad and needed to be replaced. I left it at Hodge Garage and waited for the bad news. Imagine my surprise when I got the call saying nothing was wrong! What?!? Nope, nothing wrong. When I asked, how much do I owe you? That reply was even more surprising...nothing, you can just come get your truck What?!? Because of the honesty and integrity, I will never use another shop. They could have easily told me they replaced it and charged me (some would have) Or they could have replaced it unnecessarily (some would have), but no...and they didnt even charge a diagnosis fee, which I fully expected and would have gladly paid. And thats not the first time weve left our vehicle there with a concern, only to be told, nope, nothing wrong...Honestly and integrity is something you cannot purchase. When I leave my vehicle(s), I have the utmost confidence that I will receive a quality repair (or an honest nothing is wrong). I even send my teen daughters there to get oil changes, etc. I know, without a doubt, that they are going to be cared for as if these young women belong to the owners own family. I highly recommend this hidden gem of a service station... Just go there and see for yourself.

They fixed my 1981 Jeep CJ7 and were very helpful. They were on time, on price and were very good communicators. It is hard to find this kind of service. I definitely recommend them.

Wayne and his team are top notch mechanics with reasonable and fair pricing and completely up front communication. If youre used to going to a dealership you will be shocked at how reasonable his pricing is. If youre looking for a that aint what you told me to fix attitude, look elsewhere. If they see something that needs attention they will let you know about the problem and give you low cost options. They stand behind their work - Ive taken most of my vehicles to him at one point or another, some for minor work, and some major work: timing belts, engine replacement, diff rebuild/regear, transmission replacement, you name it - he handled it professionally and stood behind his work. He even helped me out by investing in over $400 in specialty tools to fix my mother in laws Audi when the stealership wanted $3000 to do some work. His bill did not include the cost of the tools since it was an investment on his part. Cost was less than $1800 total for the same exact work. I do a lot of my own work, and especially now since Im unemployed, but when my talents have been exhausted, Wayne is the ONLY guy I trust to do it right. Take any non 5 star reviews with a grain of salt.... For reference, 4 of my 8 below:

It was handled very quickly, and I was provided a full appraisal of a truly reasonable expense for the eventual potentially needed repair. Weve been a customer of Hodge Garage (HG) for 15+/- years and Ive referred numerous people to this business. It is difficult to find honest, reliable, trustworthy, dependable, and personable car techs. If there is a negative comment out there on the web about this business, I sincerely doubt its an HONEST review. I have a large family with a lot of vehicles-5 and a motorcycle to be exact; ranging from 1 to 39 years old and HG takes care of all of them. Whether its a simple inspection or oil change to serious mechanical issues, they take amazing care of our needs. Cost? I would say less than a dealership, but inline with other car techs. You get what you pay for! Do you go to a physician who just got out of med school with zero experience? I dont. I want someone with knowledge, experience, and cares about ME. HG knows what theyre doing, has many years of experience, and cares about my safety on the road. What more can you ask for? To all the folks at HG-keep up the GREAT job!!!

I called them up early in the morning with an issue. They had the part ordered before I even dropped off the car. The work was done quickly at a reasonable price and I was in and out in one day. The lady at the front desk was very friendly and the mechanic did a great job and threw in some extra services at no charge. They even have a shop dog. I recently moved here and have been looking for a new shop. I think I just found it. I had to use them again and again they went above and beyond my expectation. This time the part they replaced was out of warranty. The folks at Hodge Garage are the most helpful and ethical mechanic outfit Ive ever dealt with. If they can fix it, they will, and at a reasonable price. I saw where a guy gave them a one-star review because they declined to perform a type of work that they just dont do. This is like giving a pizza restaurant a one-star review because they wouldnt make you a cheeseburger. You generally cant make stupid people happy, but you CAN find a good, honest mechanic shop if you look hard enough — and this is it.

I’ve been going here for 20 years and I’ve never had a single issue with this business. They treat me like family, do great work, and the staff is very friendly and accommodating whenever I’ve had questions. On countless occasions, Wayne has gone to extra lengths to save me money on the repairs. They are very upfront about the work and what it entails and I recommend them over any other mechanic in town.

It is hard to find an honest mechanic. Wayne and his shop are fantastic. I recently got his advice regarding an engine rebuild for a mustang project I am working on. A few days later I had a problem with an older chevy pickup I have been driving. I ran it low on gas and it died on me then wouldnt start back up, even after gas was added. I thought that the fuel pump had failed. Wayne quickly took care of the issue which turned out not to be a fuel pump but just that it takes a while to prime the old manual fuel pumps.I less honest mechanic would have sold me a fuel pump and labor to replace. Or claimed they replaced.I will take all my vehicle work here in the future.

Hodge Grage does good work and will not overcharge you. I was going to mechanic that I thought was cheaper but they were not doing good work. I brought my car to hodge because the cut rate mechanic was screwing up my car. Hodge fixed the problems the bad mechanic caused and saved me money in the long run.
