A downtown treasure! Great selection, knowledgeable staff, fair prices. Guitar and amp tech, and even lessons available. Stop in then grab some lunch or a cocktail next door. Great way to spend an afternoon!
Great place thatll get you what you need for your guitar.
A great little shop!John does a very good job keeping the shop looking and running great! Hes friendly, and eager to help however he can! I dont personally play guitar, but I pop in with friends and hes always a delight. Hes very knowledgeable not only on guitars and bass, but sound systems. The man is a great well of knowledge if you are looking to get into playing, or just need some pointers!
Really helpful staff.
Good selection of Guild and Alvarez Acoustic Guitars. Good all around music store for Great Falls. Staff are helpful and knowledgeable as to be expected. Cut a deal on a guitar that had been in stock for a while and gave a great recommendation to install a top-of-the-line pickup at a reasonable price.
The shop has all of your musical needs. Great selection and John has amazing knowledge of his products. If he doesnt know the answer, hell do whatever he can to find it!

Great guitars, basses ect. Very helpful if you have questions about anything music wise.
On a Thursday?Really? Do you just cater the live music market, which sucks and is virtually non existent in this town? Be open 6 days/week. Cater to local artists. Help those who struggle every day. Dude...pay it forward, at least a little...
This review is long overdue--by about four years--but here we go.In 2015, I took a Fender Stratocaster in for work, which was to be completed by guitar/music repairman Joe. Joe is supposedly a professional instrument worker who works out of a back room in Guitars of Montana. He was to replace the fret markers on my Strat as well as install a new nut.Lets start with the nut. It was terrible. The string slots were so large that the strings could freely roam around inside each slot, creating a terrible pinging sound and awful tuning stability. I posted photos of this nut on an online guitar forum to ask for others opinions to ensure I wasnt insane. The people on that forum said it was one of the worst slotting jobs they had ever seen and that I should ask for my money back AND for a new nut installation free of charge.Next, the fretboard. Oh man. This was a $1,200 American Vintage Reissue 62 Strat. The fret markers were to be removed and replaced with a clay compound (similar to that in original 62s). Well, it turns out the markers were not easy to remove, and some of the fretboard wood came out with them. As if that wasnt bad enough, the clay compound put in its place was rough and uneven. Overall, it looked terrible and my fretboard was shot, effectively devaluing my guitar and reducing its playability.I asked Joe if he could (a) refund me entirely (I paid in advance!) because of the poor work and damage done to my coveted and expensive instrument, and (b) if he would, at the very least, replace the nut and do a better job on the next one. My requests were met with an angry confrontation, during which Joe said, verbatim, come back to town and we will settle this like men. I am not kidding. He literally threatened me over the phone. I was in Missoula at the time, so coming back was not possible at that point in time, and after receiving that threat, I opted not to. To put things in perspective, I was a 19-year-old college student at the time, and Joe was a grown man running his business out of the back of Guitars of Montana. So, I highly recommend to all potential customers: unless you want your expensive instruments destroyed, do NOT take them to Joe at Guitars of Montana. I feel bad for Guitars of Montana because, as I understand it, Joe is simply a contractor who rents out space in the back. However, his services are so bad and his tone so unprofessional that I think it is fair Guitars of Montana suffer the repercussions of hosting such a terrible contractor. Please consider relocating this man so that he does not taint the integrity and quality of your shop more than he has already done. I already know I will never step foot in this store again, even if it means I need to drive to another city for a music-related service.
Awesome place to get everything you need and the guy in back is incredible at fixing your guitar.
Amazing place and employees!
