My wife and I recently purchased vacation, recreational property in Grass Valley. In dire need of a guitar pick I made my first visit to Foggy Mountain. The gentleman behind the counter greeted me with warmth and kindness and showed me what appeared to be a thousand different kinds of guitar picks. Choosing one that felt proper to my fingers and had the word Cool on it suited my tastes to a T. And thats my feelings about Foggy Mountain Music, they are Cool people have a Cool store in a Cool town.

Its almost a destination in itself, this old-time store, with instruments displayed all over the walls and shelves.I appreciated their care and concern in helping me sell an instrument some years back.

I love foggy mountain music. Ive been going there for any instrument repair Ive needed for a long time. They are seriously the best fricken music shop in Northern California. The owner and her workers are all very nice and give great service.

Foggy mountain is a good little mom & pop music store they have all your needs and wants and if the dont they can order it, they give back to the community and Im a firm believer that you should buy where you live so if I have musical needs I always start at Foggy Mountain I like the employees and the owners are good people . Worthy of a stop in and Im sure youll return over and over

The historical downtown area and the fact this store been there for 40 years lead me to believe that this woman could be trusted with a violin that had been in my girl friend family for over 4 generations, we took it in to have it restrung and cleaned up and this was all that was said ! Long story short this business owner sold our violin with out our permission, we went in to her story friday to confront her and when she made eye contact she turned around and danm near ran out the back of the store jumped in her car and didnt even brake when she hit the dip in between the parking lot behind the store and the street! This woman robbed us has been avoiding us and on top of this wonderful musical experience shes running her mouth and being rude as she doing it! We have talk to a layer and are pressing charges!

Mary Ellens husband did some work on my old Tokai Strat copy and it came back with much more than I had hoped for. Even though the requested work did not involve the pickups, now the single coil hum that has bothered me for years is Gone. And these are not noiseless pickups. He really went the extra mile to check for other problems. I am ecstatic! Thank you!

Mary Ellen and her team are incredibly knowledgeable, courteous, and efficient and the shop is chock full of everything you need and if by chance its not they will get it for you. AND an added bonus is that she matches internet prices so shop locally everyone!

Absolutely terrible service. POOR selection of instrument strings (they never buy them) Theyve fired their most charismatic workers. The owner/manager will ignore you if shes on the phone. Had an amp in there for six months that was more broken when I got it back, than when I brought it in, due to their guitar tech Steve. Worst music store in North California, if I could give zero stars I would.

Very helpful and reasonably priced.If they dont have what you need, which is rare because they have everything, they out of their way to make sure they can get it for you.
