Small coffee shop with little to no seating inside, but plenty outside. I ordered a drip coffee and two cookies along with a canned kombucha for my wife. The coffee is a solid 7.75/ 10 (10 being world class). I havent had the chance to try there lattes or milk drinks but based off of the quality of their drip coffee I imagine it would be excellent. However I can highly recommend the drip. The cookies were also delicious, they have a cake-like consistency but are not soft, more brittle than moist. An excellent pairing for coffee drinks.Overall I would definitely recommend the shop and be back again if Im in the area.Kat and Jonah gave excellent service!

Great coffee roaster and I enjoy it at home, so I thought to try the cafe. I went this past Saturday and it was swingin’ with a line out the door. The counter duo was flyin’ and moving fast, and I ordered a ‘quick coffee’ (not their slow drip as I wasn’t willing to wait) then slipped out to the C19 picnic table on the street to enjoy the early winter sunset. Like a good team player, one of the employees came outside and asked for support from what seemed a manager — but didn’t get the help hoped for I’d say. I’ll be back for the slow drip and a sticky sweet very soon, maybe for sunrise...

Ummm this is the best coffee shop in town... The bergamot latte is divine. The rose cardamom latte is beautiful. The flavor descriptions on the bags of beans is almost as delightful as whats insideThis cute micro spot originated locally, is WOMAN OWNED and showcases local art as wellThank you for your consistent quality and for having OAT MILK!

Friendly and funky, a little more-so than I expected for Grass Valley so a pleasant surprise. A nice mix of subway tile and wood. Not much in the way of seating but if you do get a spot then it’s a nice place to be. I went with a latte, the wife went with a French Breakfast tea, a curious change to the usual English Breakfast and not that discernible a difference although it is supposed to have more punch. My latte was smooth with a bit of bite at the finish and a good temperature too (what is it with this luke warm latte trend?).

The specialty coffee drinks arent always consistent. Sometimes theyre fantastic! Other times, oh well. But I do think they taste great when it is good. The place is very cute, I love the art that rotates through. It can be pricey here, but I dont mind.

I was refused a service by a girl that few months earlier made me careless a sandwich with huge piece of glass in it.I was shoked. And she even didnt say sorry. She was rude, and I asked her if she realized I could die from swallowing that glass.I just want to share that .and the owner didnt seemed to care much aswell. Her response was- there were no damage, so what exactly do you want from me.It was insulting honestly, on the human side of the event...

Fable Coffee worked with us to provide coffee for after our wedding when our original reception got cancelled due to COVID closures (we switched to a small coffee/donut hour outside after the ceremony). They were so helpful in dealing with our last minute requests, and the coffee was excellent! We got a big to-go container of the Gold Country blend, and I know our guests all appreciated it. I highly recommend working with them, or just visiting the shop. A huge thank you to Ashley and Logan!

My partner and I are from Aus and we’re traveling up the West Coast in a camper van. We have been on the hunt for a GOOD coffee ever since we arrived in the US with no luck. That was until we stumbled across Fable coffee while on a bit of a random detour in Grass Valley. Seriously best coffee we’ve had in the US so far! Delish!

$8.60 for a small coffee and a pastry! Coffee wasnt very good, but - I drink decaf and its tough to find a good decaf. Still, at these prices I do expect it to be very good indeed. Service without a smile, or even acknowledging I was alive. Punk hippy skateboarder theme and music. No thanks.

Discovered this place after having a not so fantastic experience at another joint in town. Staff was fun and laughing. I was made a delish Mexican Coffee with a heart on top. I may have given them 4 stars because they dont have white chocolate and witnessed 2 customers go without, I cant help but feel like thats kinda a coffee shop staple. BUT its not my drink and I was so impressed when I decided to tap my inner child and picked up one of their adult coloring books... Well, there were no sharpened colored pencils out so I was going to bag the idea but the staff noticed and without asking brought me over some sharpened pencils! Gave me a good laugh, and I found it cool they payed attention and took the time to make sure I enjoyed myself. 👊

Best coffee shop in the Grass Valley/Nevada City/Auburn area! Love the atmosphere, all of the employees are awesome and super friendly, and of course it has the highest quality coffee/espresso drinks. The only specialty coffee shop around that actually prides themselves of only using the best methods for making coffee drinks and they have local, organic pastries. LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!

Coffee is absolutely amazing! I am giving it 3 stars because I was really disappointed in the avocado toast. If the owners are reading this please take some time to research how to make bomb avo toast and not just a mashed avo on a piece of bread.... citrus salt and olive oil are your friend... add some micro greens and youre in business... please just look at some recipes though I was really disappointed with my toast half covered and flavorless. Or just make an avo toast topping bar if you want to keep your workers from spending too much time on it. I love the coffee and will be happy to write a new review and remove this one if the avo toast changes thank you

This is definitely THE place to go for very special coffee. Grass Valley is so rich in local coffee places - with Carolines, Brew Bakers right across the street, and they are all lovely (not to forget the venerable Flour Garden, with their great selection of baked goods). I almost feel bad going to Fable all the time, but they definitely are currently the numero uno.
