Yesterday I made purchases in this store for a significant value, however the person who attended me was really rude ... it is incredible that such a respectable brand has employees like this ...
Went in today and we were the only people in the store. The lady tending the register offered no greeting or assistance (20 minutes at least). She appeared to do her best even to pretend we werent there. I dont often play the race card but I can tell when Im not wanted somewhere. Overpriced products combined with terrible customer service and an outdated business model spell doom for this place.
I have been a GNC customer for years now and have always had pleasant experiences, but my visit at the GNC store located at the 3000 Grapevine Mills Pkwy #421 in Grapevine, TX was rather a disconcerting one.I went into the store looking for protein snacks and recognized that some of the products were well past their expiration date and still not taken off the shelves. Usually, during my prior visits at multiple GNC stores, these expired products are marked down, if not, at least taken off the shelf, but this was not the case here. I asked Mauricio, the store manager, regarding the price mark down of the expired products. All other GNCs I’ve been to would simply realize the expired item or close to expired item and discount accordingly. Mauricio, on the other hand, began to question how I knew about this and asked if I worked at GNC, and seemed very agitated at the fact that I discovered the expired products. I didnt think much of the manner in which he responded along his presumptuous demeanor and decided to proceed browsing in the store for other products.I was searching for daily multivitamins that are available in a regular version, as well as a sport version. I was interested in purchasing the sport version but I noticed the sport version was not in-store. Therefore, I consulted Mauricio regarding the products availability and he stated that they do not have it in-stock and that the regular version is “the same thing as the sport version”. Out of curiosity, I asked him why the product is labeled as sport if the products are the same, and he indicated that the ingredients in the regular version and the sport version are the same, except the sport version contains creatine. After hearing this, I told Mauricio that I will go ahead and wait to purchase the product once the store has the sport version in stock (all other GNCs would allow me to order an out-of-stock item to my home, Mauricio did not). He explicitly responded by saying, That doesnt make sense but okay”. He seemed very angered with the fact that I chose to wait for the sport version of a $10 multivitamin and as I proceeded to check out with my other items, I noticed Mauricio began bagging the snacks very harshly - it was almost as though he was throwing the items in the bag.As someone who has an extensive experience in the sales/retail/customer service industry while running a fitness business, I am extremely dissatisfied with the lack of customer service at this GNC. I absolutely do not and will not recommend this specific store to any of my clients, colleagues, family, and friends.@GNC corporate: please reconsider your staffing decisions at this location!
Extremely poor customer service by Mauricio and severe lack of knowledge regarding numerous products. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS STORE TO ANYONE!
