Worst customer service ever! You would think that since your a small local business that youd at the least do your job! I bought a mattress from mattress land and asked where I can get a used washer & dryer. Guy said as a matter fact we own active home furnishings acrossed the street. Yes thats right they own both! I paid 700 cash for a new mattress then drove across the street and spent 500 on a refurbished washer and dryer. Not even a year later the washer broke! I live alone so only wash about 8 loads a month. I called to get it repaired they said the repair guy would call that same day to set a time and day to fix it. He never called so I called the next day. He contacted me to the repair guy and he said hed be by within 4 hours. He showed up not wearing a mask, asked it I rent and if it was from a property management. Why, Im not sure. He turned my washer on, heard the noise it was making then changed the washer to another cycle then said a guy would call to pick it up. I asked why, he said to repair it in the shop. I said so your going to take my washer fix it then charge me God knows what! He said theyd call with a repair price before they fixed it then just left! I had questions that apparently he had no time to answer or just didnt care to share with me. So I waiting for that call for the pick up. I received a text telling me when they were coming. I text back that I had questions before they come pick it up. He text back theyll call me. That was a month ago!! BAD BUSINESS I WILL NEVER GO HERE AGAIN NOR WILL I RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE!!!

When I called and explained to Marvin (the owner) that I was helping a family who was in the Almeda Fire and they had no stove for their temporary living conditions, he was ready to help! He gave this family a free refurbished electric stove, worth about $350! Dustin the delivery guy went above and beyond and had to take the doors of its hinges and the stove door off too to get the old one out. He was friendly and professional, communicative and on time. I have worked in past with Elijah too and the people who work here all seem to have big, generous hearts. Cant say enough good things about this store and its employees! Feeling grateful Active Appliance gives back to our community!

Two weeks ago, we went to Active Home Furnishings to see about getting our washer serviced, as a recommendation from my parents. When we arrived, we were greeted by Steve, who was helpful in scheduling their service technician to come out and check on our washer during the next week.Unfortunately, our current washer was deemed unfixable, so our next steps were to replace it. We were in the market for a used and refurbished washer, so we went back to Active to see what they had in stock. There was only one used washer left for sale in their showroom, and it was to be sold as a set with a dryer, but our current dryer still works. Not only did Steve offer to sell the washer by itself, he also applied a portion of the original service call fee towards the purchase, and said he could have his delivery guy get it to us THE NEXT DAY! Thats incredible customer service!We are very happy with our new-to-us washer, and will be making Active our first stop for future appliance needs. Thanks, Steve! :)

They have very nice furniture and appliances, new and refurbished. You got to get in there quick though because they are selling stuff fast. I called about a fridge in the morning and by the time I got there in the early evening the fridge was sold. Now this is at no fault of their own, but that just goes to show how many people are buying appliances from this store.

I have shopped at Active Appliances for years the sales staff is friendly and professional. The product is excellent and the service is top rate. You won’t be disappointed. Shop local! For the record I’ve bought a washer, dryer, freezer and 2 mattresses. Good deals all.

Sorry to say Active will receive a poor review from this customer. We purchased kitchen appliances from Active for our last two homes. Recently, our 6 year old dishwasher went on the blink. The dishes would not clean. I went on the Kitchen aid web site to troubleshoot the problem. After watching several videos I learned the most likely problem was in the chopper and valve assembly. Since I recently had back surgery, I did not want to tackle the repair and called for a repair person from Active.Mike, the repairman arrived and told me after 20 minutes the washer arms were working correctly and to use a powered soap. He took my $50. dollars and left. There was no repair and the problem continued.I called back and told the staff that the unit needed to be re-evaluated and needed a specific part. They advised they would order the part but would have to charge for another service call to install the part. I told them this was unacceptable and poor customer service. I was not a happy camper. They advised the owner would call. He did not...I called another local repair service and the problem was solved by installing a new chopper assembly.....

Purchased a refurbished washer and dryer. Within 6 months of using it the washer makes an awful noise and the dryer’s belt broke completely off and caught my comforter on fire. When I called to set up a day and time to fix it, they took notes, misplaced all of the information, and forgot to call AGAIN. I ended up calling back because no one showed up to fix the dryer and the guy forgot about it and moved it to Monday WITHOUT calling to notify and ask if Monday works. I told them to call after 12PM when I was available. Calls at 9:45am instead of the specified time and they said they can’t fix it when they said they would last Friday. While it’s been well over a week. Horrible customer service, unorganized, and chaotic company.

I dread the idea of setting foot in an appliance and mattress dealership, but had a fairly pleasant experience in Active. They do indeed offer U.S.-brand washers and dryers at prices that are similar to those on the Korean brands down at the home Despot. I liked that they dont charge extra for cords and hoses.We ended up buying a used w/d set which, so far, works great. The install happened the same day and was very reasonable. Fingers crossed that we dont need to use the warranty.

This business cannot be recommended in good faith. Unfortunately we should have gone with a bigger company & spent a tad more and avoided trying to support local in this case. Their communication is lax, their appliances are fixed long enough to work to sell and make money. This is all too bad given that we initially went here since knowing some of the family associated with this business. Knock on wood our 2nd refrigerator from them (the first one stopped working right away & had to be replaced) still works after EXTENSIVE work done to it post buying. Our dishwasher does NOT. I tried to get a hold of them to look at it when it was under warranty. These items were purchased last Thanksgiving break. A year has not gone by. I found the part that I am pretty sure it needs online for reasonable. Active doesnt want to deal with it, and is too expensive supposedly for them. Really it should be fixed. Do yourself better and take your time and money elsewhere.

I have nothing but great things to say about the service quality of this place!First off, I went in to by a dryer and they had it delivered and set up within a few hours of my purchase.The dryer for some strange reason was not working properly so they brought it back and tested it and it worked great for them so they brought it back and hooked it up and tried again.Unfortunately the dryer was having the same issue at my house but they were determined to figure out exactly what was going on and didnt stop till they found out. Turns out it was a electrical issue with the house outlet and not the dryer at all.The seller that helped me was Steve, he was quick, informative and kind.The delivery man was Scootter, he had a glowing, radiant, personally and was very careful with loading and unloading making sure not to leave any scratches on my floor.The 2nd delivery/ repair man was Elijah, he was incredibly knowledgeable and determined to solve the problem. He was patience and broke things down for me so I could understand what was going on. I could really tell he took pride in his work and I definitely appreciate the time he spent to get everything solved.If I could give more stars I would, these guys went above and beyond.

Beware of Purchasing Used “Refurbished” AppliancesPurchased a “refurbished” Maytag French Door Refrigerator with Freezer on bottom. A week into having the fridge and after having a prior verbal dispute over the phone with the delivery guy/ Installer; Elija, and the sales men within the store, the fridge was reaching temperatures up 68 Degrees in mid-July. With purchasing a refurbished appliance, we had a 6 month warranty. When Elija returned to my home, he seemed to already know that the problem was a blown control board which is the brain of the operation to the fridge. At first they told me this was a “$300” part, but then it was no longer made. After a two minute analysis of the ruined fridge, Elija began to bring up the verbal dispute between himself and my husband over the phone- which had to do with his incompetency to hook up the water line to fridge and had nothing to do with the temperature issue. As a pregnant woman with my toddler in the home, Elija and I engaged in a hostile thirty minute argument about my husband insulting him and calling him a “retard” for not hooking up the water line. He stated that we were “bad customers” and we didn’t know how to do business. After he exited my home in an unprofessional manner, I called the store crying and had to beg for a refund and to no longer do business with them. The next day they had a compromise of “upgrading” us to a different “refurbished” fridge because the Maytag control board is no longer made. I went to the store and looked at what they considered an upgrade and I was unsatisfied and wanted out of business with them. I had to hunt down Marvin- who is the owner and father of the family business, who the sales men tried their hardest to keep me and my husband from contacting. After two weeks of having the fridge and fighting with this joke of a business, my husband and Marvin reached a verbal agreement to refund our money, while they kept our $40 delivery fee and we would remove the fridge from our home and have it waiting on the porch. When we returned to the store that evening to swipe our credit card for the refund, they had deducted an addition $30 for picking up the fridge.Within this time of dealing with Active Appliance- I seen many unprofessional and scam artist techniques. Beware of purchasing from them. I am sure this Maytag fridge was put right back on their sales floor to sell to the next suckers. Refer to Yelp, as there are more accurate reviews there and ones similar to our story. Unfortunately this is not the only unsatisfactory experience we had with Active. We should have known better and only hope to warn other potential customers. Save yourself the grief and purchase from a chain store in town like Sears or Home Depot.
