I have a favorite leather office chair that I bought in 1993 and was very disappointed when the gas cylinder stopped working. WOW! I ordered a new heavy duty tilt mechanism and gas cylinder and Im blown away! The tilt mechanism i received is made from 1/8 steel! You can feel the quality! Did not have the caster I needed but..... the customer service rep Peter spent 10 minutes on the phone with me, educating me on the specifics of what I needed and some suggestions on how to maybe find it other places. Being a big boy I found the spokes of my chair base were twisting and the casters were now at a 45 degree angle ot the floor. To be fair, the base was plastic and not well stressed (designed). I thought Id never find a solution but was googling on the internet and stumbled on chairpartsonline. I left an email and within minutes had a phone call from them. They had a number of suggestions as to a cure. We discussed what kind of base I had, number of spokes, casters and very importantly HOW TO REMOVE the old base. The part arrived in 2 days, I applied their advice on removal and re-fitting the new base and transferred the casters. The chair has never been so easy to move around while sitting.
