I love this little hometown neighborhood hardware store! Its HUGE inside! They have everything you could need and so much more to upgrade! Ive even special ordered my house number plate.... Its perfect and everything I wanted! They have the best most kind staff who are always willing to help! And their prices are great! Its not overpriced at all! I highly recommend doing here. Youll find something you need for sure!

Very nice & helpful staff. Amazing variety & huge selection of cabinet hardware along with regular hardware store items. I do not know the prices. Never saw so much cabinet hardware in one store before.

We called ahead to ensure this store could mix a paint color for us. The staff member on the phone confirmed they could. When we arrived, neither staff member were able to mix paint because they didnt know how. The staff person on the phone could have told us over the phone that nobody on shift was able to perform that task today. Wasted an hour round trip for nothing. Please train your staff properly. It sounds like you have great products, but this is low quality customer service.

This place is seriously packed with lots of high quality products...way nicer selection than the low quality stuff at those big box stores. Its truly a legit hardware store for those home projects. A gem in Grand Rapids.

Called on the phone to ask if they had what I needed in stock the person who answered told me they did so I drove across town only to find out that it was not the correct information so it wasnt my first time going here and it will be my last. Sad but true I did not appreciate how my business was handled so I will take it elsewhere I dont have enough time in my day to deal with nonsense or misleading information so with that being said please value your own opinion because Im sure other people think its a great place!

Way over priced on just about everything. What they want for cabinet knobs is extortion. Even antique places dont want that much. Not good... Grand Rapids economy is not that great.

This place is solid. A variety of options for nearly all projects, and some home renovation items as well. Come here before Ace or any other hardware store. Prices are also very fair. Customer service is amazing.

Spent an hour and a half or so wandering around Lowe’s searching for various items. Walked in to Modern, had a staff member direct us to the exact screw size we needed, locate a car license plate replacement light and a few other items we couldn’t find at Lowe’s, and walked out in less than 8 minutes. I’ve never left Modern disappointed!

Every employee seems very knowledgeable and offers great assistance. The quality of their products and tools are also above average. If your looking for something thats more exclusive and you cant find it at Menards, Home Depot, or Lowes... I bet you can find it here.I accidentally reviewed you guys at 2 stars, after seeing your reply I wanted to make sure I get the record straight!

The best unique hardware store in the city! Expensive but you get what you pay for.

I have had nothing but pleasant experiences each time Ive visited modern hardware. The staff is always friendly, knowledgeable, and ready to help. Todays experience was no different. Tony helped my boyfriend with his hammer and got us everything we needed. We live 25 minutes away, but always make the trip to modern hardware because we trust their staff and always feel very welcome. I will always recommend visiting this place!

Beautiful. Everything and anything. Great and helpful staff. Best of all is that they know when not to help. If you do need anything, they are right there with vast knowledge about whatever you need! Might not be as cheap as some, H... D...t, but very close to the same pricing and well worth the few more cents! Great Place! Paired with employee when I walked through the door told isle 12, then another employee showed me where on isle 12 then she looked up part number for mandrel to go with cutoff disc, found last one and got hacksaw blade. In and out in 5 minutes!

Very knowledgeable and helpful. I went in not knowing what I needed, and ended up having all of my questions answered as well as the products explained to me. I now feel comfortable finishing a project that I didnt even know how to start.

Modern Hardware is an amazing place. You can find things here you may not find elsewhere. Like hard to find cab hinges. I always like to say that if they dont have it you dont need it. Associates are very helpful. I truly appreciate having them around.

I went in looking for Terro fruit fly traps and was told you were out and they were discontinued. Went home, looked up on Google. They arent discontinued, in fact they are widely available. Maybe I should skip Modern next time....

Great service! They have everything, parking is close, and the staff walks me to what I need and then tells me how to install it. I walked in with a metal piece that fell off of my swingset. I said, i need this. 5 minutes and $1.49 later, i was back in my car with that piece. I love this place.

Very knowledgeable staff. If they dont have something, they will try to find out where you can find it. One of the only places where you can buy just one screw if you only need one. Also, they hide a golden hammer for children to find, and give them a treat when they do. One of the only places in town that sell Blum European hinges, and where you can try on and buy Occidental Leather brand gear.

Found what we needed in less than 5 minutes for our sink, checkout was smooth and fast, and their product knowledge is phenominal.
