I was initially asked, before speaking with Dr. Muallem, if I would be willing to get cataract surgery. Having only one functional eye I leaned heavily on a “No” answer but clarified saying that if having the surgery was really important to the future health of my eyes and vision, I’d reconsider.I stepped in to see Dr Muallem and was examined. The exam was thorough. I was asked again about cataract surgery and again replied that I was reluctant. In all, the appointment went well.

Ive had a very positive experience, both with Grand Rapids Opthamology and Dr. Muallem. He is knowledgeable, professional and cares about his patients. He is always open to questions. I highly recommend him.

Service is professional but the long wait was a little annoying. It seems too often at any doctor office they dont value your time. It is important to respect the patient is taking time from work for these appointments and try to be efficient.
