Do yourself a favor and go to the Hall St location. The food and service is way better. I went to the bakery this morning and ordered my usual breakfast sandwich and I was given this burnt crispy sandwich. I really tried to make it work, but couldn’t even bite into it because of how burnt it was. The cook here looked like she didn’t care as she served me this. How dare you guys serve a customer burnt food. If I wanted burnt microwaved food I would’ve gone to McDonalds on Division.

I love this place and always have....however I have a difficult time paying $3.75 for a scone which is basically leftover junk and made into something.Last weekend I went in and got 2 Townies, 2 Chocolate croissants and 2 Scones and my total $24.00.So if you dont mind going broke when you go here I definitely recommend this place. If you are on a tight budget this is NOT the place for you.

Outstanding quality and value! This a gem and I will certainly be back. I got the Margherita Pizza and it was exquisite. The dough was obviously freshly made and there was a generous amount of fresh toppings. Google recommended them for lunch based on excellent ratings and they were certainly well earned. Theres even adjacent parking so you dont have to park on the street.

This is definitely my favorite bakery here on the east side. I love their wide selection of pastries especially their townies and almond bear claws. I always enjoy getting a loaf of bread here, quick tip you can ask for them to slice it for you and free of charge. They also offer many different types of beverages, hot and cold, and have a wonderful lunch and dinner menu with sandwiches made from fresh baked bread and pizzas freshly baked in their wood burning oven.

I had pizza for the first time from Wealthy Street today - I opted to just go for a basic mushroom and pepperoni but next time Im for sure going to try the bbq chicken! Their gluten free chicken salad is amazing, but the bread is kind of small so whenever you order a whole sandwich, they have ALWAYS given me 2 (makes since, they charge extra). Today I got one single, despite ordering a whole and paying extra. When I called, they were adamant it has always just come as one. Cute. Won’t be ordering here again, way overpriced for that tiny of an entree.

Wealthy Street Bakery has delicious sandwiches and wood-fired pizzas. The pastries and cookies are delicious, and theres a good gluten-free selection. Its a nice location in Heritage Hill, and makes a nice stop after visiting the nearby Meyer May House. The only thing we dont like is that the wood-fired pizzas arent available all day, but those wanting a pizza for lunch can head to its sister location, Hall Street Bakery, where pizzas are served anytime. Staff is accommodating and friendly. We always have a positive experience here.

I had the sandwich and salad combo. Based on food alone, this was probably a 4 star, the half sandwich was a good size and tasty, but the salad was just lettuce and croutons with an ok dressing. Today, I had my food prepared by a person with no gloves. All of my sandwich items were handled with bare hands by a person wiping their hands down the front of their shirt. When they noticed I saw them, they put one glove on. I mention something to the person at the counter because it wasn’t sanitary, she addressed the issue and the person had two gloves on to prepare the second sandwich. When giving me my order, the person who prepared was short with me and said “I WAS wearing gloves.” It wasn’t necessary for the employee to be rude after not following proper food handling routines. The public doesn’t eat out of your hands. Wear gloves. And don’t be a jerk when you get called out for unsanitary practices.

I do not live near Grand Rapids but needed a bakery to delivery pastries and fresh fruit at a function this past week. I searched and found the Wealthy Street Bakery website and decided to give them a try. The fresh pastries and fruit were delivered promptly (exactly as requested) and they were wonderful. I have since visited the bakery for lunch with my husband, and our sandwiches and salads were excellent. Service was also very good. I would highly recommend the Wealthy Street Bakery for fantastic pastries, sandwiches, and salads. Next trip I look forward to going back and checking out their pizza!

My husband and I just happened to stop here for dinner last night and boy, were we impressed! My husband ordered the club sandwich and I got the turkey with provolone. The sandwiches were very decently sized, and came with home-made chips and a dill pickle slice. My husband, who is kind of difficult to please, was actually raving about his sandwich. The bread was fresh and delicious; crispy crust and soft middle. The chips were addictive...crunchy and salty and everything youd want from a potato chip. :) We also ordered a oatmeal raisin cookie which my husband hailed as the best cookie hes ever eaten...Im still shaking my head over that since I make really excellent cookies. ;)Its definitely a casual cafe...but such a cute little place to go if youre in the mood for a salad, soup, or salad. We live all the way across town, but well definitely go there again.

Not very good. Very friendly, but not very good. Maybe the actual bread is better than the in house food. Sandwiches seem to be priced a bit high for the taste/amount of food received. They were out of a lot of items when we visited at around 1130am, which seems like it should be a normal time to expect things? Anyway, one of the items our table got was a breakfast croissant which was SO greasy that the underside was like a grease sponge. Everything was just lukewarm and it just lent to a bad overall eating experience.Anyway, Ive heard good things from others so maybe ill give it a shot some time... Not soon, but some time.

I have been to this restaurant 2 times, once a few years back, and once again today Jan 2019. It hasnt changed much and neither has the quality of the food. Today I Got a breakfast sandwich with bacon, egg, and cheddar. Could not tast cheese, flavorless egg substance and limp bacon. No flavor at all. The open view into the kitchen allowed me to see a microwave in use. Unacceptable to use a microwave in preparing a breakfast sandwich, or anything for that matter. I also saw a beautiful brick oven, then a staff member opened it with bare hands, reached in grabbing a croissant, which would have burned if oven was actually in use. This made me question if they used it ir not. Cookies looked wet, probably frozen and thawed. I would have given 1 star but I havent had their pastry. Staff were a bright spot, upbeat and friendly. I wouldnt call this a bakery as much as a restaurant that bakes their own goods. Other bakeries in Grand Rapids are much better at baked goods and display. I hope they fix their issues because I want to like this place.

Imagine my excitement when I saw that the plethora of gluten free desserts and pastries! I ordered a poppy send muffin and was super excited to devour it! However, this was the worst muffin I ever ate in my entire life. It was extremely dry and overly sweetened. The muffin was too crumbly and fell apart everywhere. And on top of all that, there were large chunks of baking powder in it, which made it that much more unpleasant. I was thoroughly disappointed in the muffin, like an ugly child you wanted to give love and affection to but they stuck your smartphone in the dog water dish. I will not be ordering the muffins there...but the individual who served me was kind, so you guys got that.

Since this is a neighbor of ours, we try to eat/shop local and usually this wins as out weekend lunch bakery. I have to say that today I was disappointed not only in the service, but also the preparation and quality of the food we ordered out. Coming from a person who works in the restaurant industry, as well as customer service, a smile goes a long way! The girl at the register was very unpleasant and pushy. When we opened the salads we ordered, one was missing croutons- When i asked about them i was told that salad doesnt come with them. Said salad was a Caesar- all Caesars come with croutons- as stated on the menu. The spinach salad looked better, but upon trying to consume it I realized the stems were uncut & inedible, mostly still dirty at the base. Some of the Spinach was slimy and wilted. Needless to say we will be buying our pricey salad elsewhere.

We used to love this place, but I think we’ve given up on it.Staff can be quiet rude - the lady who took our order was lovely, but the man who called our name to pick up our order was kind of a jerk. Shouted my name once, I got up to get it and he rolled his eyes at me, walked away and left our order on the counter. He was wearing headphones and very deliberately avoiding contact with the customers. We didn’t get what we ordered - I ordered a Turkey Bacon Pesto and got a club sandwich, slathered in mayo and oddly spicy mustard. Chips were packed in the bag upside-down and went everywhere when I was taking them out.Place was also incredibly noisy, but that’s not the staff’s fault.Really is a shame to how downhill this place has gone.
