My favorite local chocolate shop. An Easter tradition for 50+ years in my family. Great chocolate, fair prices.

The inside was very very clean. The staff where friendly and the decor was pretty. They have a mocha chocolate shake that will knock your socks off. They also have a candy shop with tons of handmade candy.

Homemade chocolates! Delicious lattes! This business has been around for many years and they know their candies. I purchased some their amazing chocolates as a gift for some friends and it was well received.

This place has been a favorite family treat starting with my great grandmother, Theo. Whether its a holiday, a birthday, or a get well soon care package, our family always says our love yous with Sweetlands. The quality is always top notch and the flavor cant be matched.

Always the best chocolate. Dark chocolate seafoam better than any Ive had! A detailed receipt for my larger order would have been nice.

Lived in GR for 5 years, and I can tell you without a doubt this is the best place for chocolates in the area - don’t even try anywhere else!!!I moved to the East side of the state a couple years ago, and still order their chocolate boxes for my fiancé on her birthday and all the major holidays. She loves it. Thank god they ship!

My husband and I have been using sweetlands for our sweet tooth needs for years. Weve always been super happy and impressed with the quality of not only the chocolate/candies etc but also the service. We usually buy their gift boxes as gifts and this Christmas was the first time weve used their shipping option. We decided to order two 1lb boxes of chocolates for our parents and grandmother in the UP. They got it the week before Christmas but they only received one 1lb box. I called Sweetlands and talked to John and he was so apologetic for the situation and was even concerned of the possibility of the family having arguments over it. He explained these things do happen on occasion but theyll look into what happened and give me a call back.I heard back from John within 2 hours and they found the mistake and offered to do whatever they could to make up for the inconvenience. I said wed just like to have the missing box sent to our parents and he said we can definitely do that! We will get it sent out as soon as possible! As their stock was pretty wiped out from Christmas and needed a few days to restock 🙂 I was very impressed with the ease of taking care of the situation and how quickly it was handled. We understand things happen, especially at Christmas. Thank you for helping us out and well be back for some more chocolate soon!!

This place has Real.Coffee. If you’re looking for an alternative to basic-coffee-chain coffee, this is the place! I tried the lavender meil seasonal coffee drink, and it was fabulously yummy—not overly sweet, the coffee flavor was soooo good (I cannot overstate this), and the lavender flavor was subtle yet delicious. AND they have a drive thru now. I’m so glad I tried this shop’s coffee, I will definitely be returning on a regular basis. Oh, and I almost forgot, their confections & chocolates are also amazing & worth the price if you’re looking to treat yourself or are looking for a nice gift for someone. (treat yo’self!)

Great coffee, espresso, you can drive through for this! For nuts, chocolates or candy walk in or online ordering. They also have special candy for people that may have diabetic issues.

Stopped yesterday & an entire table of people (5-6) sitting at a table with no masks on. Sign on door clearly stating masks required. This was not a safe place. Very disappointed.This has never happened before. The young ladies at the counter very helpful, grateful for that. Bit overall upset & disappointed

If you want anything in chocolate they have it. Milk chocolate and dark chocolate. One place you have to go to for the holidays.

Top notch candy store with very high quality ingredients. Common and high end candies. Some candy sample daily, allows you to find new favorites from their selection. They also serve drinks, ice cream and limited food. Great stop for special gift giving occasions. A true family favorite for decades.

The best local made chocolate! Stores are immaculately clean and spotless. We all need chocolate so this is place to go.

We have gone to Sweetlands for decades. Wonderful handmade chocolates and other more common candies such as Jelly Bellies. The free gift wrapping is so helpful too. Our favorites are the Turtles and Sea Foam. I have also shipped chocolates and they arrived quickly.

This is the only candy store left in the area that makes and sells orange and raspberry jellies. For that reason alone I will always treat myself to a visit when Im in the area. I just wish they sold both varieties in both dark chocolate and milk chocolate.

Cheerful service, a cozy coffee nook, and a vast variety of nuts and candies-- including a rainbow of M&Ms sold by the pound. We also took advantage of free gift wrapping. I do wish Sweetland would continue to offer an unsweetened plant milk for coffee; the employee serving my coffee mentioned that the unsweetened almond milk will soon be replaced with a sugar-added counterpart.

I always stop here to pick up some nuts for my parents after the drive from Dallas, TX. No matter what, the nuts are always perfect, just the right amount of salt. Upon last visit, we ate 1/2 of the bag of nuts before getting them in the house. Always a friendly face, quality product at a great price, will stop in when I pass through again. Thanks!!

What a wonderful selection. I love getting a variety of different types of chocolates. Anything with coconut is a favorite. The Dark chocolate peanut butter cup is so creamy and amazing. I talked with the owner who said theyve been in that location since the 1940s and started in Lowell! I love businesses with a long local history. Id like to include them on a chocolate tour with my business #DiscoveryMichigan.

This place is awesome. It has become a tradition in my family for my parents to me and anyone I am dating a box of candy for each holiday. They always have seasonal candies too like hearts for valentines day too so that is nice to look forward to.They have plenty of candies to suit every taste. A favorite for anyone I have purchased a box for is always the chocolate covered oreos and the chocolate covered sea salt caramels. I on the other hand really like jelly candies so I get more of those. I think there are three box sizes. Usually we get the medium size and my parents pack it pretty full. I was just here last week and got a box for my niece and one for my nephew too. I got them the smaller box and filled it up pretty well and even with my addition of a half pound of jelly bellies (they have like every flavor) the total only came to $14! I always expect my total to be about twice as much as it ends up. AWESOME.They are very patient and happily walk back and forth adding little bits to our boxes and they can even gift wrap the boxes for free. It is a pretty awesome one stop for a holiday gift or something for a person who is hard to shop for. Bosses at christmas, a friend who lets you stay with them while you visit. Dog sitters while you are out of town...really anyone :)

Their candy looks and smells amazing. I went for coffee because they serve madcap coffee. It was pretty decent, and while they use madcap beans, the quality isn’t quite there. Specifically, their “pour over” is not what you would expect. They didn’t make it when I ordered. They had pre made pour over which ended up just being drip coffee. Good coffee, but not a real pour over.

Owner was very rude to my husband.i would have walked out and told them to keep their candy.wont return to their store.

Some of the best chocolate on the planet and nice people. I loaded up for Valentines day. I particularly love their dark chocolate.

Its been years since I had a malted milkshake and I remember Sweetland used to make excellent ones when I was a kid so I stopped in. What they served me though was just awful. The switched from hard ice cream to soft serve and dont add any milk at all, so the end result is like trying to such chocolate soft serve through a straw. They should remove these from the menu if they arent even going to try and make a decent one.

They said they dont make their own chocolate, that they order it from some USA supplier. Their chocolates are really overly-sweet. Some of the chocolates have real butter, but others have vegetable oils (probably to reduce cost?)Below-average. You can get the same thing at any grocery store.---Edit in response to the owners comment below: There are chocolatiers in Grand Rapids who source fair trade/ethical cocoa beans and who then make their chocolate themselves, in-store. When I was told that Sweetlands was handmade, this is what I expected, and it was disappointing to hear that the chocolate was not made on-site.Additionally, neither of the employees working in the store knew where the chocolate came from beyond saying it was from some USA supplier, so I knew no better than that. It would be beneficial to educate the employees on the chocolates sourcing so that they are knowledgeable and can communicate that to the customer.

Amazing coffee and chocolate experience! Madcap coffee is to die for, especially the Cafe Miel! Modern feel, and a perfect spot to catch up on work or have a coffee date with a friend. Highly recommend visiting soon!

Literally the best chocolate you can find in West Michigan!!! Its a blessing and a curse because no Ghirardelli ir Whitmans or Russell Stovers will ever satisfy a chocolate craving ever again!!!! Haha. They just opened an amazing coffee shop addition to this location using their own chocolate and Carmel sauces with local Madcap coffee! They also have a drive through for coffee coming soon. THE BEST! The chocolate rocks are my personal favorite ^_^
