Pam is the Best! This is the second time now that I have been to the store when she has been working. She is always so helpful and so pleasant. I called to ask about the featured candles earlier today. When I arrived they were basically gone. She asked if I was the one that called and said she had put one of each aside for me just in case. That was probably one of the sweetest things anyone could do especially since they are a gift! I Asked if she was a manager and she said she was. I do hope that someone in corporate, or a manager above her reads this so she gets the appreciation she deserves. The previous time that we were in, not only was she amazing to us, but so gracious to everyone around us. It’s very nice to go into a store and not have someone in your face selling you something. Pam is the type of guest service professional that makes you feel like you’re in her home! Thank you again for two great experiences!

Yankee Candle has a nice selection of candles, waxes and scents. Youll surely find something that speaks to you among the different fragrances on offer. The scents come from essential oil extracts and are pure and strong. The staff are smart and friendly, with good advice and lots of patients. I have two problems with Yankee Candle, however. First, the price. The candles are made of paraffin wax, which is pretty cheap and common. You can get an identical product elsewhere much cheaper. Basically, youre paying for the name, rather than better quality. If youre concerned about finances, save Yankee Candle for special occasions or gifts. Youll be just as happy with cheaper brands for everyday use. The second problem is environmental. Paraffin is a petroleum product which isnt sustainable. Yankee Candle isnt offering alternatives like soy, as far as I know. On the plus side, they do make all candles with 100% cotton wicks, unlike the lead lined versions some companies use. Lead from wicks can be toxic so this is very positive news.

Shopped at the Yankee Candle, Woodland Mall, 28th St SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49508 and was helped by knowledgeable sales clerk. Great stock in the store and was able to pick up some nice candles.
