Needing to design the PERFECT memorial piece for my grams to be created for me... only have a couple tattoos but ALL by them

Over the past 2 weeks both my daughter, and I have had work done by Adam at Mos Eisleys Tattoo Studio. The experience was exemplary. Made an appointment with them to be called less than 24 hours before my appointment to reschedule because they messed up scheduling. Had to take time off of work for my new appointment which was a major inconvenience for me. I emailed asking to see a photo of my design 2 days before my appointment just to be told they put me with a tattoo artist who didn’t know how to make my design and that I needed to make it myself. This just seemed absolutely outrageous that they could not make my design considering it was not a hard tattoo and I sent exactly what I wanted and how I wanted the font. I did get a refund for my deposit but overall not impressed and not happy with my experience.

From start to finish everything was very professional. I have only positive words from my experience with Mos Eisleys studio. My artist was Adam & he did a fantastic job! I couldnt have asked for better. I was going for my first ever tattoo & Adam gave great advice/tips. The convos we had during the process were great. I appreciate the addition of shading that he recommended & he was pretty chill. It was awesome. When I go back in the future Im definitely going back to Adam, & I cant recommend him enough. Very talented artist & great atmosphere. Get your tattoos done here if you can. I love the result & Its even better than I had hoped for. 10/10

My wife and I got couples tats. Preston was great! We did the consultation. He draw up original designs. We ok them and he did the tattoos. Was it costly? Sure, but like the tattoo legend Sailor Jerry said “good work ain’t cheap and cheap work ain’t good. Very professional. Just got my second tat there. Again great job. 3rd tattoo is awesome.

First off ill start by saying when I first walked in it looked extremely clean and smelled good as well, got a walk-in appointment within 30 minutes and Adam did a better job than I couldve even imagined. My initial idea was a bit too detailed to do as a walk in and they were straight up and extremely professional and we set up a consultation for that tattoo but I also had a back up idea that was perfect. Best tattoo studio in west Michigan and even though they are slightly more expensive than your smaller shops but well worth it and make up for it in talent and cleanliness. Save yourself time and dont look for other shops because mos Eisleys will is the best choice.

Very clean and very professional, Mos Eisleys staff and artists are on their own level! This is the third tattoo shop I have had work done in. Theyre a bit pricey, but you pay for quality, so its worth every penny! Nick is an incredible artist, Im glad I chose him to do my tattoo. He truly does amazing work! I emailed them photos and to set up a consultation. They emailed me back with a date and time 5 weeks out. I confirmed and cancelled a different consult, cuz I was told they were the best. Got there and they had no record of my appt. No apology, but they did offer that I could wait another 5 weeks for a consultation. Thanks, but no thanks.

Holy heaven this crew is amazing. The whole process from start to finish was highly professional and informative. They know what they are doing, and they are incredibly talented. I had an idea in mind for my tattoo, and Adam actually made it BETTER than what Id originally planned out. I didnt think that would happen. I cant recommend this place highly enough. Ive gotten tattoos before other places, but from here on out, Ill only be going to Mos Eisleys.

Shane is awesome! He is an amazing artist and really makes sure that youre getting exactly what you want! Only reason for 4/5 stars is there was a lot of miscommunication with the process of scheduling the tattoo. But overall I totally recommend!!!

Came here awhile ago for a coverup. Showed the artist a picture of exactly what I wanted. On my back, a centerpiece.He did it completely different than the photo. Made it smaller than I explained I wanted it. And now Ive got something thats going to cost me a LOT of money to remove!Ill never get another tattoo without having it completely drawn up prior. Not after my experience here. I paid way too much for a piece that wasnt me.

I feel bad that I didnt write my review when I got my tattoo, because now Ive forgotten the artists name. He was super friendly and he really took the time to understand what I wanted with my design, even though it took extra drawing time for him when I insisted on more changes before having it tattooed. It looks great and I love it!!

This is my third tattoo( still in the process of being finished) at Mos Eisleys. The staff has always been nice and each artisit has done amazing work. I would, and have reccomended this shop to other people.

Came in as a walk-in and got waited on right away. This place is a little pricey, but they don’t make you schedule 3 consultations prior to actually getting any ink. They gave me exactly what I wanted and finished it quickly.

Receptionist was inviting and knowledgeable. Service was quick. And MOST importantly I LOVE the new tattoo

Went in to set up an appointment and asked if I could use the restroom and was told that I couldnt use it. I am a diabetic with prostate problems and need to go often. Well I had my wifes tattoo done there, but I will never step foot in there because what if I need to go while they are working on me? She pointed to the door and said it says No public restroom. The same sign said no more than 2 people can come in together, and there were 6 people sitting together. So what part of the sign do we enforce? A federal law, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), requires most business and facilities to provide reasonable access and accommodation for all disabled customers, clients, and members of the public. The ADA applies to almost all businesses that are open to the public, regardless of size.Aug 16, 2017

I have had two beautiful pieces of work done here. The staff is friendly and their custom art is unique. They offer a wide variety ink colors and will try to accommodate you in every way. They also respond very quickly if you have questions or need to make an appointment. This is the only tattoo shop I will go to. Absolutely love this place!!!

I got a floral piece done with Tyler for my parents that I was trying to decide on for a couple years. I sent in an email with some photos for inspiration and vague description and they responded immediately and got me in good hands. I came in and Tyler was so nice and it took only two minutes for a consultation. I came in to get the piece done a few days after without seeing what he had planned before and it was PERFECT. Literally like he read my mind and envisioned what I couldn’t even explain. The shop was so clean, with private rooms and quick service. My work came out insanely perfect and Tyler was absolutely amazing. Highly recommend and by far the best shop I’ve been too!

Brantley does an amazing job! This was my first tattoo and he made it a really enjoyable experience. His lines were perfect and the shading is exactly how I wanted it. Will definitely go back again if I ever get another tattoo.

Their artists are very skilled. Its very clean and nice inside. Their prices are pretty high and the artist I had didnt have any chair side manor which was a little off putting for my first tattoo, but he seemed to know what he was doing and everything turned out well.

Very professional front desk employees and my artist was excellent! I was extremely comfortable talking to him about what I wanted to have tattooed and placement! Yes this place is and can be pricey. I don’t think the prices are outrageous . If you want to base your tattoo on price alone there are plenty of cheap shops in Michigan good luck!You get what you pay for. When you find a talented artist that’s a professional too! To me that’s worth the money!

I chose Mos Eisleys to get my very first tattoo, which is a memorial tattoo for my kid sister who passed away in 2017. She was obsessed with Star Wars, and the tattoo was taken from that. I figured a tattoo shop named from Star Wars was only fitting, and I couldnt be happier with my choice. Preston did an AMAZING job, and took the time to make sure I was comfortable since this was a new experience for me. I know tattoos are like potato chips, so Im sure Ill be back!

My daughters first two tattoos were at Mos Eisleys. Its very, very clean, and amazing to walk I to. Everyone is friendly and fun! Its so easy to park close. The many, many awards for the shop and the individual artists is well deserved! I would HIGHLY recommend Mos Eisleys!

When my son Cody died, I wanted to get a tattoo that honored him as well as expressed how much he and my other two kids are and always will be part of my heart. I came in and gave Preston a drawing and explained each part of it. When I went in the next day, he had taken my basic idea and made it so much more beautiful and meaningful. I cant lie, I was anxious about how it was going to feel to get the tattoo, but Preston talked me off the ledge and before I knew it, he was done. Preston, your amazing !!!!

The cleanest tattoo shop I’ve ever been too. The receptionist was so funny and friendly. Nick the tattoo artist was amazing. It was my friends first time and he treated her amazingly. He was curtisous and wanted to make sure she was completely comfortable with her decision. We were walk ins on a time limit and they worked with us and got us in and out with time to spare. Nick is an amazing artist. I highly recommend this place. First timers, this is the best place to go!!

Amazing experience both sessions I have had. Erik is a beyond exceptional artist and really knows what he is doing. And very fair priced for how much detail and the size of my tattoo. Im going in for my last session this week and very excited. I would definitely recommend this tattoo place to anyone that wanted a realism tattoo.

The guy who helped design my tattoo, Brantley, is an exceptional artist. I had a rough idea of what I wanted, and he definitely helped bring it to life. I really like that the staff makes suggestions and works with you to make sure you get a quality, lasting piece. They even follow up with calls and emails to verify the time for your appointment.We got the line work done and Ill be returning in the next couple months to finish the coloring.I also think its pretty neat that they have a fancy touch screen register.

I got a tattoo from Preston not too long ago and I love it! I keep seeing people complain about pricing but for the amount of time put into my tattoo along with just how amazing it looks, I say the price was more than fair. Totally excited to come back for more!

Called today to inquire about getting my sons nose pierced. Front desk person who answered the phone was very short with me in letting me that they do not offer piercings anymore. I then asked her if she could refer me to a business that does - to which she replied that she does not know anyone that does piercings. 🙄 I get that you don’t want to send customers to competitor’s in the area but you could just be honest and say that. I find it very hard to believe you have no idea who does piercings in GR. 😂 Thanks!

I have one brilliant piece from an artist here, and another monstrosity from a different artist here. Unfortunately the tattoo that is always visible is the horrible one. Definitely research your artist’s work before getting anything done.

I got a piercing there, by George, and I absolutely love it! He was so helpful and even was nice enough to do it even though I came in last minute. Very clean and not too expensive. I would definitely choose Mos Eisleys again!

We stopped in after lots of research in the area to discuss pricing and appointment times. We were able to be fit in for my daughters tattoo which was much more simpler than mine. She received her first tattoo by Preston. He was very kind, professional and did an awesome job! Im seeing Nick later in the month!!!

Recently paid a hefty price for a tattoo. countless errors. Color outside the line work and crooked line work. Clearly used to getting top dollar for low grade tattooing. Their attention to detail sucks. i had to correct them on the font size as one arm was smaller lettering than the other on the design they had drawn up. Plus several who work there are too sensitive to any criticism or expressed desire for more professional approach. My verdict. Go elsewhere.

Nick Sage is fantastic

They tell you to be on time for your appointments or they will start charging the hourly rate even if you are not there, but when you show up on time and they are not ready to start they dont take that into consideration. Appointment at 5 didnt start till 6:20 and then I was over charged and they wont refund me instead she said they would credit me for next time. I assure you there wont be a next time. Dont bother with this place defiantly didnt get what I paid for and trust me I paid a lot.

I interviewed an artist as well as some customers for a paper I was doing for school, I made it super awkward and regret it deeply. My mom also got her first tattoo here.

Just got my second tattoo from here and everyone was SUPER professional and really nice. I was tattooed by Shane and the whole time i was getting tattooed i felt super comfortable and the conversation was easy going. Pretty certain that this is the only place im ever going to go to get a tattoo done.

I made an apointment 2 months ago and used a vacation day for it. When I showed up the artists wasnt there. We rescheduled for the following month. When I showed up for that apointment the shop was closed that day. I no longer use them for tattoo work.

I trust Nick and appreciate how clean and professional this shop is. Nick has done most of my work and is an amazing artist. Prices are fair for high quality work and the shop is always clean.

Pretentious. Plain and simple. We get it, the industry has changed. You’re all artists now and the customers should appreciate the opportunity to have your artwork displayed on their body. Couple problems with that.....they’re paying you.....and they have options! You may not feel the sting of poor customer service or a lack of communication/follow-up protocol right now, but the more places that open up, the tighter that squeeze is going to get. Other places in town are building their reputations on standards of customer service, making the customers feel welcomed and appreciated. Someone’s going to look at the books one day and wonder what happened......hint: it’s happening now.The staff thinks their time is more valuable than the time of their paying customers.....that’s how kids run an after school club, not how adults run a successful business. There wasn’t the competition 5 years ago that there is now, they better get reactive, it’s obvious they weren’t proactive. This is probably one of those places that does “pretty well” and has no idea how much more revenue that they could be generating......oh well.

I went there last week to get my third tattoo (second one from Mos Eisleys). Customer service was severely lacking. My artist never even told me his name and seems kind of annoyed when he put the stencil on and I asked him to redo it due to the fact it wasn’t on straight. I was never asked to show my ID or sign any papers so should I need a touch up (which I can already tell that I will) get an infection, etc., they will have no record of me going there. I had to ask for an after care pamphlet. All around poor experience. They’re talented and good at what they do, but I was not impressed this time around and will not be going back to them for future tattoos.

For what I know all the artists are great. However Nick is cocky and needs to learn some communication skills. Went there mid August, its now the end of December, and still havent heard anything from him about the drawing for my 8+ hour sleeve I wanted him to do. He was so rude from the beginning I should have expected it but come on. Ive done everything I was supposed to do. Emailed him my references, emailed again to check progress, and nothing. I will not be going to this shop ever.

Honestly the worse experience at a tattoo parlor. We were greeted by a rude, young lady who looked around 20 or so. My friend went to talk to them about tattoos first they took her to the back with one person. I was next to talk to which she turned me away saying there wasnt time for anyone else, despite it only being 5pm. A few minutes later two people came in and went to get their tattoos without an appointment. I wanted to leave so I went in the back to ask my friend for the car keys, which the lady at the front desk, who btw have no piercings or tattoos to be seen, flipping out at me saying I couldnt go back there. I searched all their small, closed rooms and finally found her only to be yelled at by the tattoo artist and the door slammed in my face. I ended up walking to screaming needle 2.5 miles up the street and paid $60 for my small bird tattoo, which was the same size as my friends who paid $120 for her tattoo plus the awful service.Many people I have talked to about this place all complain about ridiculous pricing and their incredible rude service. I would NEVER suggest this place to anybody. Their portfolios arent even of the extraordinary or significant. Basically incomplete some of them.Terrible in general.

Recently my dog had passed away, I have been to Mos a few times for tats. I took in a photo of Koty and Nick designed a tat from the photo I had provided.The resemblance is perfection, my family and friends have seen the tat and said that it is Koty.Thanks again Nick, phenomenal job!

Less than impressed a few years ago when I got my first one, but hey it was just that my first one and I wouldnt have known much better otherwise. But they earned this one star as of my most recent visit. My wife wanted to get a ring tattoo similar to one I had done on our honeymoon out west... They not only told her that there was NO WAY they could tattoo a finger, but they quickly started to push different tattoo ideas and doing it in a completely different location.... We came back to Mos because this is our hometown and we both wanted ink from here, but they have really stooped low as of late... Easy to see when most of their awards are from before the turn of the millennium.Do yourself a favor SHOP AROUND! We found a much better location very willing to work with the art she has and will actually put it where she wants it.

I had a less than great experience here. I had to describe what I wanted to the desk girl rather than talking to the actual artist that was going to do my tattoo. I came back weeks later for the appointment, and the artist didnt follow any of the instructions I had left with the desk girl on his draw-up of it- font choice (he used handwriting when I requested Helvetica), size (MUCH larger than requested), or design (printed out an image of what I wanted, got a completely different design). A random word was capitalized, so I asked him to please change it to lower case. He did, but did not seem very happy with my request. He was not friendly with me at all and seemed rushed, which also made the process more painful. I feel the experience would have been better if I were able to talk to the artist directly. I wouldnt go back.

Never been here, dont have tattoos, this is not really a review. Just stumbled upon this place on Google.. A big round of applause to the person who thought of the name for this shop. Mos Eisley is the space port on the planet Tatooine in Star Wars.... Mos Eisleys.... Tattoo.... huh? huh? Thats pretty damn ingenious.5 stars for the name!

I got all my first body piercings at Mos Eisleys from 12-15 years ago before I moved to Boston, MA & Portland, OR... inbetween I visited them and remember the old location on Division in Wyoming. The staff was always very friendly and knowledgeable. I would have liked to have gotten my first ink there also, but it ws a bit too far a hike from Oregon! The reason I hit up Mos Eisleys all those years ago was because I am a huge Star Wars fan....good thing I was!

As an out of towner I spoke with several co-workers who have ink about a reputable shop and Mos came up, and man, they nailed it. Reasonably priced, professional and most importantly, great job.Highly recommended and bonus points for being named after the fictional town from Star Wars: Mos Eisley on Tatooine. Get it, Tatooine – tattoo.. That’s pretty cool..And don’t get anything douchy either. Austin TX has enough of that crap!
