The owner is really friendly & a VW owner himself. Hes been working on them for a long time & knows them quite well. He diagnosed the problem on my car & I was ready to go within a couple of hours. If you own 1 of the old VWs with an air cooled engine, you no doubt have noticed that its increasingly difficult to find a mechanic who is familiar with them & can properly work on them.Ex: I took mine to a VW dealership a few years ago for a routine oil change, & they had to dig up a manual to figure out how to do it. Another time, I went to one of these quickie oil change places, & the guy went & stood in front of my front bumper waiting for me to pop the hood. I stuck my head out the window & told him, I dont think youre going to find an engine up there. Not surprisingly, I never went back. But I digress.Doug, the owner & mechanic at Qualitat, knows his stuff, by contrast. These guys are rare. Treasure them when you find one.

I have a 74 VW Super Beetle that I take to Doug and Qualitat. They always do good work and at a fair price. I wish every shop was as good as these guys.

My husband and I stopped by after hours while geocaching. there are many neat vehicles and while we didnt meet the owner we hear hes a nice guy. I dont know the quality of his services but it appears, guess based solely on the impressive VW collection out front, that hes quite knowledgeable about all things Volkswagen.
