Love this grill... I have another high end grill that has been my go to for the last 10+ years and its going to last another 10+ because of its quality. So, when I was shopping for another grill for a different location, I wanted to also find a high quality grill that will last. That being said, lets talk about performance... being a professional chef for decades Ive been accustomed to having high performance cooking equipment... great build quality and high BTUs at my finger tip.I have always definitely lean more towards function over form, but in a utilitarian way. However with Ferno I got both! I am the primary cook in our household for the simple reason that I usually can do it in half of the time and when you have 2 kids and entertain on top of that (sans Covid), well it just makes sense. But, often not grilling has been a :30-:40 min start time, even with my older professional propane grill. The first time I used my Ferno, it took less than :10 minutes to be ready and when your cooking 3 meals, 7 days a week these days (we do get take away on occasion ;)) wanting to switch it up and use the grill more is a no brainer now.Im a researcher at heart, plus it pays to do the research when youre going to spend top dollar. I looked at many other high end brands, most of them are dressed up to look expensive. Though some have unique functions that I would like to integrate into a grill (like being able to add wood in addition to having propane/gas... there is one) and others have amazing form and design that would look great in a dwell magazine shoot. From my research in a high end grill product if your looking for charcoal or ceramic briquettes grill (which is the majority out there and in relation to this review) the only option you have is to get one that has some type of electronic ignition to help speed up the process of getting coals ready and that = time. Some of those models and brands also have bluetooth enabled apps to regulate temperature or multiple probes. And, this is where my purist side comes out... these IMO are all bells and whistles gadgets. Probes have their place for sure... and its more for longer cooking, like large pieces of meats and/or smoking (thats a whole other topic). Dont get me wrong I love my gadgets but not so much when it comes to cooking. The beauty in Ferno, is that it can and will be used more often than you think because of its unique design of being able to raise and lower the burners. My only issue with my particular Ferno set up is that I have a gas connection and you would think that I would have know this, but gas burns at a lower temperature than propane. I still would not have changed it, because I really like that I dont have to get propane tanks all the time. And, honestly most people would probably not notice a difference. But, unfortunately my profession has me a-tuned to heat performance and I noticed it the first time I used it. IMO, higher Btus are only good if you know and or learn how to work it.Things I love about my Ferno...- Great build quality- Utilitarian looks, but also with great form too!- Quick heat up time (also helps having an insulated top)- The ability to raise or lower the burners- Side board material- Grill grates can be flipped for more or less surface contact

Ferno Grill is amazing. I have one of their grills and it basically does everything. I cook the best tri-tip on it; also pizza, and a turkey for thanksgiving, oh and grilled oysters with garlic and butter is amazing. The adjustable heat position does what no other gill does. so its quick to heat, then you can put the temp to like a stable 170 for slow cooking.   Also the integrated LED lighting is like the best I have ever seen on any grill. Been using it for years without a battery change and it magically turns on whenever the lid is open, even just a small amount to peek in. By Far, the worlds best grill, nothing even comes close. Ferno is also super responsive and provides the most amazing white glove delivery.  If you are looking at it, just get it, you will not be disappointed.

We came across Ferno Grills while on a vacation to Sonoma, CA, and it was love at first sight! The grill fits perfectly with our newly renovated summer home and performs extremely well. Peck was near our MI location and able to stop by shortly after we received and set it up. I am sure we will enjoy it for many years to come.

Having a Ferno grill has been life changing. It grills, and cooks, and bakes just about anything. For the first time in my life I made a perfect pizza. Its a kitchen in itself, except no kitchen sink....and it is beautiful to look at.Marianne Partridge

I am in love with my Ferno. It has transformed my life as a cook. Not just grilling proteins, but I bake bread in it, pizza, I even make breakfast on it! The level of control, the cast iron surface and the high heat potential is just amazing. In the hot months I basically cook everything outside on my Ferno to keep the house cool. And it looks awesome, a primo design element to my deck. Get one. It will change your life.

Terrific grill, the best of the best. If youve gotten tired of disposable products, get one of these instead as Im pretty sure this is going to be a lifetime product. Perfect functionality as far as I can tell, can cook anything and do almost anything, makes the kitchen you built into your house mostly unnecessary really. Well, except for a dishwasher and sink I guess.

I’ve used the Ferno grill now for 3 months, and it’s changed the way I cook! Before using the Ferno grill, I used my Weber grill as a traditional bbq (burgers, tri-tip, and chicken) and my Wolf range for the rest. Now I use the Ferno grill for most of my cooking. It heats up quickly to a stable temperature, cooks evenly with the cast-iron grills without flame-ups, and is big enough to accommodate most food I cook. Now I use it for breakfast burritos, quiche, pizza, veggies, steaks, and more. I even use the smoker box to slow cook pork. It’s amazing!

Easily the best grill I have ever used - perfect for anything that I have tried to cook. Better to invest in quality vs lower cost grills that I’ve had in the past that never quite work right.

I love the Ferno grill! So many amazing features. One of my favorite features is the cast iron grates. I use the flat side, which is perfect for grilling vegetables of all sizes, even chopped onions (the grates are spaced narrowly so things dont fall through). Just did our Thanksgiving turkey, and it was really easy to keep the temperature right where it needed to be because of the burner controls and being able to raise and lower the flame. And I could cook it right on the grates because of the unique design. Crispy skin! On top of all that, the Ferno is a work of art. Customer service has been excellent, too.

Love the Ferno Grill. Had it for over a year, and have been enjoying everything about it: how it cooks, clean up, excellent support from the company...and most of all how it has kept flare ups to a bare minimum, due to being able to adjust the height of the heat source. Though it is expensive, I would get it again.

Ferno is the real deal. I raise cattle and been BBQing all my life. It may not quite be red oaks coals. But the venting system with the moveable flame and the lid allows things you to do things you just cant do with a grate that goes up and down. Even better you dont have to split wood or wait for an hour.

We love to cook, grill, eat and generally share life with our family, friends and tribe. Our FERNO Grill has made all that even better. It’s moved us out of our kitchen into the open air, expanded our ideas about the foods we prepare, and created a space in our backyard like a fire pit of old where people we love gather to talk story, relive recent glories or defeats, and generally just hang out surrounded by the appetizing aromas of a sizzling snack. Sure, we’ve grilled and roasted all the usual suspects—chops, steaks, birds big and small, vegetables, fish, shrimp and even lobster (a splurge!) with amazing results. But we’ve also baked pizzas, galettes, and half-a-dozen kinds of bread (and made grilled three-cheese sandwiches that are to die for!). I think we have just scratched the surface. My wife even uses the FERNO to boil up kettles full of plants and natural dyes she uses to color wool she spins and weaves into works of art. Do I love the three-part gas control and manly crank on the front? Yes—I mean, honestly, this thing is the bomb when it comes to just plain cooking. But it’s also really great to behold. Feeding friends in this thing is like picking them up for a party in a limo: to hand someone food cooked in it is to say to them “I made this specially for you.” If all you want to do is heat up dogs and burgers, then this grill may be overkill, but if you want to grill in a way that feeds the soul, get yourself a FERNO. Everybody you ever serve food cooked in it will thank you.

How much do I love Ferno Grills? I own 2 of them. The reason is simple, it is the best grill I have ever used, and Ive used a lot of them...Weber charcoal, Weber Genesis, Dynasty, the Green Egg, Lynx....What makes it the best?:1) The Ferno has the ease of gas but the flavor of charcoal. When the fat drips on the flame shields, they smoke and give the meat the flavor that makes BBQ, well, BBQ. Now Ferno also has an add on wood smoking boxthat works great for adding even more smoke flavor to your meats.2) Because you can not only control the flame height, but the height of the burners themselves by using the Big Wheel to raise and lower them, I never worry about fat causing flare ups (see above). I put a whole chicken on with the two outside burners set to 2 middle burner to 1 (out of 3), lower the burners all the way down with the wheel and go for a two hour hike. When I come back, perfection. Tender, moist and with crisp skin.3) The grills are industrial grade cast iron. If you are a sucker for perfect grill marks and a nice even char on your steaks, they perform to perfection. Raise the burners and crank up all three burners to 3 for 10 minutes. Then lower the burners and heavy duty grills retain the perfect amount heat to cross-hatch sear your steaks perfectly.4. It is hands down the coolest looking BBQ youll ever own.

I have had my Ferno for nearly a year and it has been a game changer for my grilling world. The combination of the adjustable flame height and the option to cook on the flat side of the cast iron grates when grilling finer vegetables or seafood adds an endless list of new options to your grill menu. It can altogether replace your kitchen oven and stove if you live in year-round outdoor weather and as an eco-conscious consumer it nice to know it is built to last for generations.

We love to grill, and always thought we had a good grill – honestly, we didn’t really think that a grill could be an incredible cooking tool, given that they’re notorious for being challenging. Then we found Ferno, and we literally donated our other grill. Ferno is a game changer. Traditional grilling problems – like burning, being too hot, random cold spots, not deep enough, food falling though – are simply non-existent with Ferno. Even changing the tank is a breeze. The cast iron grates retain heat so beautifully, I often turn off the grill completely part way through cooking, and know my food will finish beautifully. Ferno provides the control you didn’t know you could have in a grill. Oh, and it looks as good as it cooks, which doesn’t hurt, either. Wouldn’t want to grill on anything else.

The last grill I’ll ever own…what a cliche, right? With this grill it’s totally true. It is built to last and it cooks better than any grill I’ve owned. It has beautiful lines, a design I would call industrial chic. It’s not just another over polished chunk of stainless steel, the Ferno is uniquely elegant and makes a statement on my deck. Looks aren’t everything, it’s what’s inside that counts…It is a joy to grill on my Ferno, it’s versatility is unequaled. The ability to move the burners away from the cooking surface allows for super slow cooking, an outdoor oven, if you will…I know I will. If you lower the burners, with the super cool wheel, and turn one burner on low you can slow cook at 200ª. No possibility of a flare up. You can do a prime rib for hours, without checking on it. You can also crank it up to 11. The cast iron grates get super hot and hold their heat which means you can sear something and turn the burners off and finish cooking with the heat of the cast iron. They have a flat side, like a griddle with thin gaps every 1/2 inch. I cooked 4 pounds of bacon without burning down the house, I simply lowered the heat source and viola, no flare ups. I seriously love this product and have just scratched the surface of what it’s capable of, I look forward to many years of experimentation. I should also mention, the way they have designed the tank holder is absolute perfection, finally changing the tank isn’t a pain in the butt. If you reading this you are asking yourself, “Should I buy a Ferno?”. The answer is YES!

Loving the ability to raise and lower the burners with the steel wheel. The feature offers more control and results grilling (and hitting the sweet spot for) chicken, fish and meat have been noticeably better for me. Grills design and construction feels way more solid than the mass produced, name brand I used to own. Also dig the Fernos built in LED light. I confidently recommend Ferno.

Been using this grill for a few months now and I can say, without qualification, that it’s one of the best purchases I have made in years. It’s improved our dinners, I use it several times a week, and certainly improved my enjoyment of grilling. I have used a Weber for 30 years and that was hard to pry out of my hands but the Furno is simply in class of it’s own. The adjustable heat (normal) and adjustable burner height (Furno only) is really helpful as it just gives me more options which I use every time. The construction is really solid and it’s just a pleasure to use. Big plus is the reversible cast iron grilles which allow easy, on grill, small vegetables, etc (e.g. asparagus) and that’s better all around. The grill is able to get quite hot (easy 650 degrees F) which just widens the choices of what I grill and how. I have even done pizza in the grill, with a stone, which worked fantastically (and all the heat was outdoors).

I had the opportunity to test drive a Ferno grill and was blown away by its performance! I was cooking a 16 pound turkey for the 5th Annual Meatfest Barbequing contest and knew that I needed to bring my A game, so I was psyched to have access to the Ferno. The key factors when Barbequing a whole Turkey are maintaining a constant temperature, even heating, and getting the smoke right. Check, check, and check. I locked in at 325 degrees easily and it never wavered, heat distribution was perfect, and the handy smoking box was easy to work with and put out great cherry wood smoke. All this and I didn’t even use the Firewheel which allows you to raise and lower the burners like a Santa Maria grill. I guess I’ll be cooking tri-tip next time!
