It’s may go to for all the different Asian cuisines I cook. The produce is fresh and well prices also. I’d be surprised if they didn’t have what you are looking for.

Such a great selection and there is always something new to discover. I love how they constantly add new items and keep it so interesting. The British section is fantastic and the fresh veggies and herbs are great too. They have great ingredients that I cannot find at the local Japanese food stores. I love this place so much!

Courteous service. I was able to buy some specialty items that I craved for from England and Asia that I have not seen since relocating to Santa Barbara which surprised me. It is expensive, but understandable since Im sure they can not buy in bulk etc. Items of couse can be bought online, but if you can afford to support small business, then try and do so.

We go here a lot. They are almost always quite helpful with suggesting the best of whatever were needing at the moment, and they pretty much have everything we need for making our Thai food. In the last few years since we started coming here, they have never steered us wrong.

They have a sign of “no refunds no exchange”. There are expired items on sale in the store, so check before purchasing.

Had been to this store a few times, but the one time I went by myself I was constantly followed and asked if I needed help. Very bizarre, uncivilized, and unsophisticated behavior towards a customer. The employee who kept asking me seemed anxious, as if I was going to steal something and wanted me to hurry up and buy the items and leave. While another employee who saw what was going on looked at me kind of apologetically, Im assuming because they recognized who I was based on my previous times there patronizing the store with my friends. And I was the only person they behaved like this toward while other customers were able to roam about and not be hounded. I bought what I wanted (regretfully) because I did not want to come off as rude. But silly me, I should have never bought anything after being treated like that. I have not patronized this store since though. Quite a discriminatory place if youre not the type of individual they want in their store. Unless, youre with other individuals they do like, then youre okay I guess lol.

This is also a small but mighty store (I just reviewed Pennywise Market in downtown SB). They carry a great collection of Chinese herbal medicine based products and some Ayurvedic products. They also carry some food from Mais Bakery in LA. Great place!

Update: owner reached out to offer refund. Happy about their prompt action. Very much appreciated their effort and professionalism.wo out of the three bags of the dumplings were completely stuck together. Dumplings broke when being separated. Totally un-cookable. The fillings of the dumplings exposed during seperation. No expiration date found on package. Dumped in trash. Complete waste of money.

While you might not find everything under the sun, as it is a small family-run market, you will find all the essentials for a variety of cuisines and the information provided about various products is willingly given. I found that the earlier negative review about the service disconcerting as I send a lot of friends and cooking students to the store, but I completely understand how important it is to close on time and get home to have dinner with family, as these people are very hardworking and spend about 12 hours a day working on getting fresh stock in and then are on their feet all day cleaning and providing service to the customers. Its a long day--give them a break and try to show up a bit earlier or call ahead to make sure what you want is available first. Personally, I think the service here is better and the line more complete than Nikka (Japanese store) or the Vietnamese shop on Hollister near Fairview, in the old liquor store, next to the noodle cafe. Those other two stores never even try to get you what you request.
