Golden Bike Shop is the best! Our 13 year old son, Alex, is an avid mountain bike rider and takes his bike to GBS for repairs and tune-ups. Riley and the rest of the mechanic team are very knowledgeable and go out of their way to explain to Alex what he needs to keep his bike rolling. They even take time to teach him a few things along the way. The prices are reasonable and the service fast and efficient. GBS, thanks for being there for our kids too!

This is truly an awesome bike shop in every respect. Moved to the area and got into mountain biking, and made my first big purchase of a Santa Cruz from them. Everyone from the sales floor folks to the techs running the show in the back are highly knowledgable and professional. Great bike shop! Bought my Santa Cruz from them, which has been great! Had a miscommunication on the timing of my bike packing trip and the shop was closed when I needed to pick my bike up and they came in after hours to get me my bike for my trip!

There are quite a few bike shops in Golden and the front range in General. The Golden Bike shop is quite superb. I purchased my bike from them and do not go anywhere else except when traveling. The service shop is highly knowledgeable and the manager is a keen rider and manages the shop in a very impressive manner. I think each bike shop as there own flavor if you will. GBS sales and regularly services some of the best bikes in the world (pivot, yeti...). Thus I feel highly confident I am taken care of each time and do not go anywhere else respectfully speaking.

I brought my MTB bike to Golden Bike Shop,for a BB noise problem. They quickly diagnosedthe problem, estimated the repair and scheduled my repair within one day including needed parts.Repairs with replacement parts were made within the scheduled day. Great job very happy with bike. I appreciate the professional service and quality.

When I got home I noticed the bike’s stem and bar wasn’t installed/torqued properly and most recently I was informed by another shop that I need to purchase new rotors and pads since brake fluid leaked all over both. I had just purchased a new rear rotor and front pads from your business and now I’m having to do this again: In addition, the front brake was never bled properly and didn’t work. Hence the additional visit to a local shop. I will be in later this month to see if a credit can be issued.

Huge fan of GBS. Definitely my go-to bike shop in Golden, and there are a lot of bike shops in town. Every time I have had a bike worked on, it has been done on time and the issue is always fixed. I try to work on my own bikes and multiple times I have gotten stuck and the service department has helped me out every time. Great bike shop.

This is the first bike that Ive purchased. When I walked into the store, I was pretty nervous because I had no idea what to ask. Ryan was EXTREMELY welcoming and very friendly. Brad in service kept it real 100% when going through some pretty serious repairs, and kept my wallet in mind without questioning, which is super cool. Great local, full service bike shop. Rented top-quality bikes for a long weekend with my buddies. They set us up with awesome bikes and pointed to great local trails in Golden, CO.

I had a business trip planned to Golden and hoped I would get the opportunity to get some mountain biking in. I searched the options for rental mountain bikes in Golden and after reviewing three providers determined that Golden Bike Shop looked like a good option from what they had in their rental fleet.I emailed the shop with a few questions and trail recommendations based off my riding experience. I was presented with three very good trail options to review prior to my arrival in Golden. I stopped in to the shop on the day I arrived to introduce myself and to check out the bikes. That quickly turned into a change of plans and rented a bike then, rather than later during my trip.While taking care of the paperwork, the bike I chose (Pivot Switchblade which I would highly recommend) was being prepared for my pedal choice and suspension rough set for my weight. After finishing the paperwork (approximately five minutes) the suspension sag was finalized and I test rode the bike in the parking lot to confirm the set-up. I was given tire levers, a spare tube and c02 to take along just in case. After I returned from my ride (their trail recommendation was great), the check in process was very quick and smooth.The shop has a great selection of bikes both for rental and sale, as well as a nice offering of parts, clothing and accessories. All the employees were great to work with for my rental, and just to talk bikes with. Looking forward to my next trip there so I can rent from Golden Bike Shop again.

I went in shopping for some tires and tubes today. The salesman was very helpful and informative. He looked at my bike to recommend the best tires for my use and what would fit, and I left with some awesome Maxxis tires! It was also great that no one made me feel guilty for putting expensive tires on a relatively down-market bike ❤️ great folks here

Highly recommend. As a middle age female, it can be intimidating to walk into a LBS(especially one that’s smaller in size). Had a great experience in GBS. I was assisted by Andrew. He went above and beyond. He is very knowledgeable and more importantly honest. He could have easily sold me one of two high end mtbs that day. But the sizing was off-the bike was too small for me. I also had a great, lengthy phone convo with Clay. I would definitely return to GBS and recommend to friends and fellow cyclists.

Recently called the Golden Bike Shop to ask questions that would help me decide the best bike for my riding style, goals, and the type of trails in my area. I had once lived in Colorado but now live elsewhere, so that ruled me out of being able to buy a bike there as they don’t ship out of state. However Clay was more than willing to spend a great deal of time helping me narrow down my decisions and even brought up several great points I hadn’t considered (or found at other bike shops even in my local area.) I still have a ton of friends who like to bike back in Colorado, and I will make sure to tell them to check out Golden Bike Shop. They were super knowledgeable, carry great brands, and helped me solve two weeks of trying to figure out what type of bike to get. Sometimes all it takes is talking with someone who is willing, and who has knowledge. Highly recommend anyone visit them!

Excellent experience buying a bike here today, despite it being less than 2 weeks before Christmas during a pandemic. Bobby was responsive and informative by email and Ryan did a fantastic job of getting me set up while simultaneously monitoring flow in and out of the shop. I did not feel pressured or rushed, even though at times, cranky customers were waiting at the door. Nice selection of bikes as well. I do not live in Golden and passed several shops on my way here, but this is my new *local* bike shop.

Stopped in last night and had more help than I ever couldve imagined! Turns out the shop didnt have exactly what I was looking for (so many bikes are backordered now), but Clay, the inventory owner, still took 30+ minutes out of his day to help me understand what I might like, what to look out for, recommending specific bikes, etc. Havent seen customer service like this in a long, long time. Everyone should go to the Golden Bike Shop and look out for Clay!

I had never been here before and had a flat on Clear Creek Trail 5 miles away, I was able to limp in with a half inflated tube. They topped off the air for me and never asked any compensation.The staff was friendly, the shop is clean and well organized, and Ill definitely be back to check out their service department.

We rented two bikes from Golden Bike Shop for 4 days. The guys at the shop were really helpful and got us all dialed in on a pair of Yeti SB100s. They really took their time getting both front and rear shocks positioned for our weight. We had no mechanicals on the trails which is a testament to their care and maintenance of their rental fleet. Great job guys - hope to be back next year for another rental!

I bought my Santa Cruz Bronson here last summer. I had the most amazing customer service from Ryan Hofman throughout the demo process to the final sale. He did a great job showing me lots of bike options as well as getting my bike setup once I decided on the Bronson.I have bought bikes from other shops in the local area and you can’t beat the customer service at GBS! The 30 day bike check is also a nice bonus. 👍

Clay the manager is incredibly helpful, personable and always available to provide top recommendations for a variety of industry topics. Reilly, Chris, and Ryan are some of the most fantastic salesmen Ive ever worked with, all providing great recommendations from helmets to headsets. These guys know what you need to enjoy riding mountain bikes to the fullest.The service department is outstanding also, I absolutely will never take my bikes anywhere else. Theyre pros when it comes to maintenance with suspension (they set the standard in my opinion). My bikes come back feeling like the first day I bought them, plus everyone there is a wealth of knowledge and always willing to provide guidance on keeping your bike in top shape for the long haul.Do yourself a favor and give this shop a visit. I promise you wont regret it.

These guys seemed like they knew what there were doing. I’ve brought my bike to them a couple times with no issues. This time though, I paid $500 for a full tune up and rebuild of suspension. The first ride after I got my bike back I knew something was wrong immediately. The rear brake was leaking fluid all over. I took the bike back in and they said they’d fix it up. When I went back in the next day they told me that a part in the brake had been installed upside down, it wasn’t them and I had to pay for the fix. The brakes were working fine before and the only shop that’s been working on the bike in the last year was them. At the very least, they should have spotted the issue during the tune and at worst they reassembled the brakes wrong and blamed me, either way, not great.

I am not impressed with the GBS team. I bought a Pivot Trail 429 from Golden Bike Shop in late Sept of 2020 I was told by the sales team to ride about 500 miles and return for the break-in maintenance. I rode about 200 miles then winter came, I then rode another 200 from December till now and thought it would be as good a time as any to get this maintenence completed.On Tuesday, I called to schedule an appointment and was told they could not honor the break-in maintenence because too much time has passed. There was no talk of time when I spent more than 5K on this bike, only talked miles. Near the end of my conversation with the shop I asked, Is there any reason I should bring my bike to your shop? I was told, No need to come to us. So I took my bike and business to Pedal and they jumped right on it, checked the entire bike over and it ONLY need a Stem adjustment. Cost me less than $20. Bummer to lose a customer over $20. I learned a couple thing from the experience, 5K doesnt buy you what it used too and I will be going to Pedal in the future.

Great shop with friendly, knowledgable, and detail-oriented staff members. Im in between my new bike and my old but needed a bike for a camping trip to Crested Butte. They had a great selection and the bike was 100% ready to go when I arrived down to the suspension set up based on my disclosed rider weight. These guys are pros and it shows.

It looks and rides (so far) like a dream!!Even though the entire bike industry is currently blowing up and all the shops in town are super busy, and distributors are sold out of many bikes/ parts; Taylor took the time to answer my barrage of questions, set me up for a demo ride, and ease my reluctance to commit to (what for me is) a significant investment....(your bike should always be worth more than your car right!!??)Then the mechanical team deep cleaned the entire bike, rebuilt the front and rear suspension, replaced several parts, even installed my cushcore, in TWO DAYS! I’ve been using this shop for a while for mechanical repairs and accessories. Recently they had a bike build I was very interested in. I was very happy from start to finish on the purchase of my new bike. They spent over a hour after my purchase helping get the bike dialed in for me, focusing on me as a customer. Fantastic service! Took my bike in yesterday for some routine maintenance. Nick helped me and answered all of my questions - I have an old bike that needs a lot of love, and he was super helpful in ordering everything I need to give it some TLC. Cant wait to get my bike back. Will return here in the future for sales if Im ever in the market for a new set of wheels or more repairs! :) :)

From what I am able to tell, the quality that I received for my warranty service is top notch and everything I would want from my local bike shop. My dissatisfaction is due to projected pricing for my service. I was quoted one thing, but was charged $70 more when I picked the bike up. When pressed, they said that they had to replace the bottom bracket because they always get mangled upon removal. I am not necessarily upset about the $70. I just expect that if a part always has to be replaced, that it would be included in the quoted price. Minimally, I would expect that they call to notify me of a required part and the permission to replace it with a higher than quoted cost. Transparency in service and price is key to my trust as a customer. If there is a next time with this shop, I will be very cautious and distrusting of quoted pricing.Update: Clay was great to reach out to me and to resolve the issue. Based on the quality of the work that was done on my bike, and their evident drive to provide good service, I will be taking it there for future needs.

It was a big purchase for me, and I could tell he truly wanted to help me find the right bike, not just buy a bike for the sake of buying a bike. EDIT:After calling, I went in and they fixed everything for free and apologized, pleased with the overall experience thanks so much guys!I went there and asked for my brakes to be bled and my shifting to be tuned. The guy in service told me that my brakes were recalled, and that they just had to get new ones and install them which would be $70. I went back to get my bike after they called me and said it was ready and was told the bill was $230. I then said it was supposed to be $70 and they said the made a mistake on the charge and still charged me $110. They completely rebuilt my brakes without calling me and asking what I wanted, they just decided without any input from the bikes owner and customer. I was okay with this, but now, thee weeks later my front brake doesnt fully lock when i squeeze the brake, meaning the repair didnt work. My shifting is also worse off then it was at the beginning, I cant shift into my top two highest gears and my lowest gears shift without me wanting them to. I am just blown away that they have such a good reputation and delivered this terrible of service to me.

Tried to go, unfortunately they are operating by appointment only. Thats perfectly reasonable if they had any information on their website or anywhere else easily accessible that said that, however their website only lists hours and their latest Google update only lists their summer hours. Thats ok, plenty of online shops that sell the same stuff and that I wont find out are closed after driving all the way to their store.

This place rocks! I took my Santa Cruz Tallboy here for a tune up and overhaul and the shop mechanics told me exactly what I needed without trying to oversell me on what I didn’t need. Pricing is competitive and the service was great. My bike is riding like it’s brand new again!

Its nice to be treated the same for a 40 dollar part as someone buying a high dollar bike. Thats a good way to stay in business.

What a great shop. I was interested in purchasing a new bike, but overwhelmed by all the different options, and really unsure of where to start the process. So I took advantage of Golden Bike Shops demo program and could not have been happier with the experience. I was able to take out different demo bikes on the the local trails and really get a feel for what I wanted in a bike. Everyone in the shop was super helpful with getting me on the right bike for me. Love my new Yeti SB 5.5!!

Awesome bike shop, I traveled to Denver last year for work and was able to squeeze some free time in. So I looked up some trails and stopped by Golden Bike shop. They set me up on an insane Pivot Trail 429 rental (provided great customer service throughout) and sent me off to the Apex trail in the city of Golden, Colorado.Highly recommended!

Four other Yeti dealers were unable to diagnose my rear triangle play issue, but GBS was, fixed it on the spot in between other service orders and didn’t charge me! I stopped in to look at bikes and I was impressed with the knowledge and helpfulness of the staff. Luke took the time to set up and go over two bikes with me, even though it was clear I was not going to buy anything that day. Further, although you can tell that the staff are committed riders, I did not get any of the bike bro superiorty attitude I have at other shops. I have been going to GBS for over a year now. I pass at least five bike shops to go there. I chose to give them my business because they respect the rider. They always find a way to get me back on the trail and have worked with my budget. Also they are pretty active in the riding community.

This is an amazing bike shop. A little out of the way for me but the products they sell and the brands they have are top of the line. Knowledgeable and friendly staff, beautiful shop as well. Defiantly buying my next bike from these guys when i get the chance.

These guys are so great! My girlfriend and I both did their demo program while we were shopping for new bikes. We ran into a small hiccup mid-way through the program but the staff was super helpful and went out of their way to take care of us. It was completely worth it because now Im getting my dream Yeti! Would definitely recommend!

I would give this shop 6 stars if I could. Hands down the best bike shop around. The staff is friendly and very knowledgeable. They will always go above and beyond to help you out. The service department is run like a well oiled machine and they will do everything in their power to get your bike up and running as soon as possible.

Went in for for 6 feet of cable housing. Came out with 4ft 11in and $16 less in my pocket. Didnt think I needed to check the length of the coiled up housing before I left the store.Follow up: The owner did respond and offered to replace the housing. Unfortunately its more than an hour round trip for me. 2+ hours of driving for overpriced product without expertise is the reason to shop online. I understand mistakes happen, but the 500% markup seems a bit much.Hard to justify shopping local. Adding 2 stars because at least they responded.

Always willing to educate and give the best advice & prices around. The best service and excellent sales people. Never felt pushy or snobby. Would recommend to everyone.
