Customer service was fine. I did ask that all of the fluids be checked and the guy said that they Ialways do with an oil change. My car had indicated that the coolant needed to be checked. The paperwork said it checked okay yet my indicator stated that it was still low. Needless to say, the coolant was quite low and had to be filled. Its possible that Grease Monkey doesnt carry the type of coolant that my car takes, which is fine, but I would have appreciated a heads up as I am taking the car on a road trip.

Anyone will be exceptionally pleased with the service provided by Golden Grease Monkey. Their whole attitude is directed to the customer, finding their needs, and providing quality work on your vehicle. Try them and you will be glad you did.

There were a few things that really rubbed me wrong about my visit. When I went to pay for my oil change I asked him if he checked my brake lights like they usually do(different location) and he said he did but its sunny out so its hard to see.. well thats just laziness because half the parking lot was in the shade you just had to drive the car forward. I told him I think one of my brake lights is out so he went to go check and grabbed a coworker to help him... well when he approached the co worker, the coworker rolled his eyes and looked so annoyed and I could see him through the window clear as day...I went outside and told them never mind I didnt realize it was such an inconvenience, no apology or word from the guy that rolled his eyes...like come on. I work in customer service and thats just not okay, it wasnt even a hard task? Or if you actually did it the first time around he wouldnt of had to bother you and ask for your help. Also my mileage on my car is 85000 and i was told the oil change I did is good for 6000 miles but the sticker on my window is for 88000 so either thats a sketchy thing they do at this location to get you to come in 3000 miles early for your oil change, rip off! Or they just cant do math. I wont be back. No wonder they are hiring, I wouldnt want to work with these guys either.

These places can be very hit or miss. Even within a franchise, one place can provide great service, while another one down the road could be terrible. Fortunately, the Grease Monkey in Golden has been fantastic! They are very fast, very through and the pricing is reasonable. Ive used them for a few years now and would not hesitate to recommend.

I can tell you the oil and oil filter.Him: I can’t say without seeing it.Me: Let me give you the VIN so you can look it up.Him: I really just need you to bring it in in order to say.Me (scolding incredulity): No you don’t.Him: ….nh…I…(hangs up)For the record every other place I called I called (or have *ever* called) can tell me this incredibly basic information.

This morning I drove up and requested an oil change. Joseph came up to my car and asked me same as last time? I let him know that I am not sure what I did last time. He replied that he didnt know either, as if I should have remembered? I said I guess I would need the same as last time, but did not receive any recommendations for my car, etc. After I said that, he walked away. I had to ask him as he was walking away, how much this would cost? It was $79.99, so I asked if there were other options? He said that I could, but it would not be recommended for my car because I need the best oil for my car. Only then did he show me only the upper left hand corner of the information sheet on the clipboard that was mostly covered up by other paperwork. He seemed perturbed by the whole conversation and I walked into the office feeling like I was being taken advantage of, instead of taken care of like a valued customer.When I got my bill, the service was actually $80.99 and he mentioned that he had to charge me for the drain plug for $6.00 which they have to do every oil change since the plugs are plastic. I reviewed my last two oil change receipts and this charge was not on my previous invoices.Finally, there is wifi at this location but the wifi password is not posted anywhere; you have to wait for a member of the staff to come in to the office (which is intermittent) and then wait until they tell you the password verbally.This is too bad because this is a departure from the kind, informative service I used to receive at this Grease Monkey location in Golden. After todays poor service experience, I will now be looking for a new oil change provider.

Let me start by saying I went for an oil change and the oil change was done in a timely manner. They took me right away and my car was reset properly. However, as a nurse and just generally someone who regards other peoples rights around me, I am extremely frustrated with how unprofessional they were regarding COVID precautions. When I got there, the gentleman was wearing a buff covering his nose and mouth while he interacted with me and took my car in. He told me where to wait and as I entered the door, they had the sign posted saying that masks are required at all times. However, as soon as I walk in there was a customer with no mask. When I looked in the garage, everyone except ONE staff member was not wearing a mask. When I asked the guy who worked there why they werent enforcing the mask mandate he said (talking about the customer not wearing a mask who had just then left) well he comes in all the time and refuses to wear one. Theres nothing I can do and I responded yea there is, you can not serve him and when I brought up the multiple staff members not wearing masks he said well my boss says we dont have to wear them while were working on the cars, just when we bring the cars in and out and when were interacting with customers. There was no hand sanitizer present, no social distancing in the waiting area, no clean vs. dirty pens....nothing that most other businesses are doing to try and keep people safe. If this is something that you care about, take your car elsewhere and spend your money elsewhere.

First time using this specific shop but they got me in and out quickly and did a good job of setting expectations in advance (the car I have requires a more expensive oil which they covered before they started any work).

Employee greeted me right away and was very courteous and professional. My oil change was done quickly and said all of the other fluids looked good. Didnt try to sell me unnecessary services. I got a free car wash that was badly needed and when my code didnt work (user error) had no problem getting me another one promptly. Strongly recommend this business!

I’m not one for writing reviews... (1st ever review to be exact) But the professionalism & cost of service at this location is hit or miss. The guy who greeted me was RUDE. Although the man who wrapped up my service was super nice. It cost $115.00 for an oil change, which went up drastically from my last visit at this location. I know gas prices are increasing daily due to the unfortunate changes our country is going through. But come on! Where’s the loyalty for your returning customer’s? Consistency is key.. this place is sketch!

Quick and helpful service but they refused to give me a basic oil change - the cheapest one they would sell me was about $80. They said they were required to sell me the synthetic oil - seemed a bit bogus. I have taken the car to reputable places - including the dealer - for 7 years and have always been able to get a basic oil change.

Very nice people. I went here kind of desperate because I was having a really bad oil leak on a Saturday evening (a lot of repair places were closing/closed) and I just wanted someone to change the oil for me and potentially tell me where it was leaking (They do not do auto repairs at Grease Monkey). They ended up not changing the oil bc the said the leak was pretty large and told me a repair place should look at it. However, they topped off my oil so I could get it to another location safety. I was really stressed pretty much the whole time and them being so nice was very kind.

I live in Breckenridge and was in Golden doing errands. I decided since I was near by I would have them check my fluids as my heat was not blowing very hot air. The guys were extremely nice and even added some oil because it was low. I hope with all that is going on in the world this business survives!

Friendly, quick, and helpful!

I have had many great experiences at this Grease Monkey over the years, and often end up traveling far to use them because I can rely on such great service, plus a great car wash thrown in. This time, I had 3 young kids in tow. They were all super friendly and helpful with the kids, communicating super age-appropriately that they could watch through the window (not in the garage), letting me nurse, etc. when I lost something and drove back to check for it, one guy was already checking the bathroom and another asking what it was I couldn’t find so could look for it and call if it was found later. (I found it in my car ultimately, as had I expected the whole time.) Thank you, Golden Grease Monkey!

My 19 year old daughter came in today for an oil change and was charged $99. I was told by a representative over the phone afterwards that they presented her with list of options. As you can tell from other reviews this list is clearly confusing and complete prices are not quoted up front. I feel they took full advantage of a young women. Now this poor college student is screwed financially.

Good, fast, courteous service

Oil change cost me $73 for a little over 6 quarts with a $7 off coupon. They do not vacuum the car out due to COVID which is part of the price and their car wash was broken which is also part of the price. No discounts were given for these shortfalls. There are vacuums out back but they still charge even if you do it yourself. Vacuuming is included in the price. The crew working was friendly and they were fast at the oil change. No line at about 10am on Friday. It took maybe 30 minutes.

I had the extreme displeasure of running into Joseph when I showed up to get the oil changed in my truck. From the moment I pulled up he was extremely rude and hostile towards me and acted like me pulling up to get an oil change over an hour before they closed was a huge burden for him. He was very disrespectful and made obnoxious pointing gestures at me whenever he wanted to get my attention, and just in general was extremely unprofessional. This is easily in top 5 worst customer experience moments Ive ever had. Rest assured I will never be coming back to this grease monkey.

I would give more stars solely because the guys at these places are always friendly as are super corporate places. However I have full synthetic which means I 100% get 6k until another oil change and 10k if it’s looks alright and makes it that long. I don’t push it though. However the sticker they put on my window only goes to 3k. I think that’s wildly shady and taking advantage of people who don’t pay attention to car stuff.

They cleverly put a seal around the oil drain plug that was leaking instead of calling my vehicle an oil leaker. It infact stopped leaking, they fixed the problem and did not even tell me or brag about it! These people are great, much better than your dealership guys. $70ish for a fully synthetic oil change, you cant beat this!

Great service and no BS up selling. They vacuumed out the front floor boards, picked up the little bits if trash that fell out of the trash bag, and cleaned the inside of my windshield. Plus, they give you a free car wash! They are always amazing! Friendly and helpful.

Brought my moms Subaru Forester in for basic maintenance. and wipers on 1/23. Very good and quick service. Until I drove away. New employee had accidentally removed transmission filter and allowed leakage. Did not tell manager. Immediately return after driving up and around circle with very serious transmission slippage. Manager oversaw issues and discovered error. Manager was very professional, apologetic and very upset at employee. Manager oversaw new fluid change including transmission. Issued a 50% off coupon for next change. Giving 4 star overall because of manager. Hopefully no future issues will occur with my mothers Forester transmission. Side note; another customer was surprised that this would happen since she bring her car in on regular basis and always happy with service.

No pressure sales. They tell or show you what you may need besides an oil change, but if its not a safety issue, or a serious engine problem, they let you decide on your own vs. pressuring you into paying for more than you need. If you say, Ill do it next time, they say, Great, we will remind you. Just had my car done and yet again, an awesome experience! Larry is the best and his crew/staff is always great! Been meaning to write one of these reviews for a long time and should have many times.
