I used to love this place Jerry always did a great job. New managers maybe? I didn’t see Jerry there it was two other guys running the front. In the past they’ve always corrected my braking issues, I mean diagnosing brake problems others couldn’t… but this last time I was surprised to hear I needed new Struts and Shocks for $1793. I had those parts replaced January 2020 and knew they were under warranty. So I took the car for a second opinion down the street they said Struts and Shocks were fine. Then took the day off and took my car back to my regular mechanic across the valley to make sure. Turned out to be the tab hitting the rear rotor was causing the noise everything else was fine. I don’t know if this is a new trend, new tech, or what but it was a frustrating experience.

Jerry and James are fantastic. Easy to work with and will be 100% straight with you. Good work done fast and on budget. They do way more than just brakes. Its more or less a full service shop. They havent told me no yet with any work I bring them. The entire staff is knowledgeable and friendly. The only shop I use and, as a former mechanic, know a thing or two about good shops. When you find one its the only one you use.

Jerry took care of my AC for me. I have a dodge charger and with the newer models it’s hard to put the freon in without the new machine. He made sure to explain I had a leak & needed it refilled. He fixed my leak and fixed my ac very quickly for a good price! Highly recommend this place!

I moved to Arizona 4 years ago and needed to find a good mechanic when my brakes started making noises. I found Brake Masters and they were (and still are) fantastic! Service was impeccable and the prices are very reasonable. They dont BS you or rip you off. I have already taken my new wifes car to them as well as my two step childrens cars. I will only use Brake Masters to service my vehicles.

We made an appointment for 3pm to get our brakes and oil changed. They were not able to perform the repairs until after 6pm due to staffing issues.Once they got to our cars repairs it took almost no time. They upgraded our service, knocked a bunch off labor costs and changed our oil for free. They certainly did what they could to make our wait worth it.This location wont let you down. Its likely well he using this location for years to come.

Great service center with some amazing employees who not only take care of your car but also of you and your pocket. They never pressure you into buying unwanted or unnecessary services when youre there. I used to never go to the same car service place twice as I never trusted them much. My wife called for a quote on lifters for our truck since one of them was going bad. Jerry gave us a reasonable price. We decided to change out all 16 lifters just to get them done. When we dropped off our truck we met with Jay. He was very pleasant, knowable, professional and funny. Jay told us that he would be the one to work on our truck and hed try to get everything done by the very next day. He accomplished that and did a fantastic job!! I used to love this location. Scott is a poor representation of management if that is his position. I called on 10/28 and he was dismissive advising he would call me back. I was still waiting on his call when I called in today. After I asked to speak with someone else, he told me that I could speak with someone else tomorrow since he was the only one there. Very poor customer service. I really hope Jay is still there or else I may have to consider another location.

Brake Masters on 55th and Bell is a fantastic shop! Jerry and Jay are both super friendly and helpful, and theyve always given me great deals on the work they perform. They make sure the same person works on my car every time, and theyve come to know my car well over time which allows me to put my trust in them.My 3000GT has never run better, it feels like a brand new car after they got done with it. Theyre always up front with their pricing and always finish the work in a timely manner. Theyve even helped me settle disputes with other shops that damaged my car trying to do repairs on it. Brake Masters made it right and helped me get my money back from the other shop.Im never going anywhere else to have work done on my car!

Took us 5 hours to get the ac fixed and they lied and never told us they dident have a tech to fix the engine light issue they are very bad at there work since jerry left it’s slow and terrible the new manager sucks and his attitude is bad don’t recommend this place to anyone

This place is always fantastic. I live in Flagstaff and I still make sure to bring my car in to this location specifically if Im down in Phoenix and need something like an oil change. Its a little out of the way but the wonderful service, fair prices and honest employees make it worth it.

I came in to have my back brakes replaced, as I was told by another shop that I needed those done ASAP. I had a coupon and Brake Masters was going to be $40 less expensive. Well, come to find out, my back brakes are at 50%. I didnt need brakes! I was shocked and very upset with my former mechanic. Jerry discussed what I was told needed to be done on my car and we discussed what was really necessary. I have to say, his honesty was a relief. My old place (Brakes Plus) lost a customer and Brake Master gained one!!!

I was referred to this Brake Master location by a good friend. I was not disappointed! I even brought my own parts(rack and pinion) purchased on an online parts store. No problem!! Their labor charge was over $130 less than my usual garage(now past garage). I will be using this Brake Master outlet for all my future service! Jerry, the Manager, was very therough in his explanation of the repair process. They even shuttled me back and forth during the process.

Always excellent service. No gimmicks or trying to sell you something you dont need. Jerry and his crew do a very good job of making sure Im up and running again. Had my brakes done and the guys there alerted me to leak w my shocks, saved me tons by letting me know do to my warrant was expiring soon.They are now ase certified or aei certified . So going back to get my mounts done.Staff super friendly, knowledgeable and fair/competive on there prices. Just like a company should be. Lobby kept clean as well.

I am incredibly impressed with this place. Friendly, prompt service. Told me I didnt need brakes! No crazy upselling or pressure tactics like most chain-stores - the only thing they mentioned was that they would like to check out the alignment because of uneven tire wear - which was something I already knew I needed. They gave me a great price on it, too! Highly recommend.

New management and great service. Manager Mark L. is very professional and took good care of one of my cars. I will be returning with my other vehicles in the near future. Highly recommend this shop now that its tossed out the former management.

TOTAL RIP OFF:I took my car in yesterday for a brake check on the ABS and ESP BAS lights as well as grinding whenever I press lightly on the brake petal.They charged me $253 for a rear speed sensor and diagnose. Funny enough they advertise free brake check, but only if there are no lights showing. If there are lights on the dashboard, they will charge you $98 for a diagnose.They charged me even though those ABS and ESP BAS lights shut off by the time I got to their shop.Once I left, they claimed the lights were no longer showing and that it should be fixed.Today the ABS ESP BAS lights came back on driving to work.They didnt fix or diagnose anything.

This place is fantastic, my entire family goes here for any car problems we have and all our regular maintenance. Usually its Jerry or Ken taking care of us but all the staff are great. I never feel like theyre pushing anything on me its always just been this is what we advise, well only fix what youd like us to fix and keep an eye on these things in the future. Multiple times Jerry has taken me back to see exactly what is wrong with the car and explain exactly what options I have in regards to fixing the problem completely or just mending it for now if thats all I can afford. Would recommend this place to anyone who has car troubles and needs an honest opinion of what their options are.

I have been taking all my cars for oil changes, brakes, and more major repairs to Brake Masters at 55th & Bell Ave for 15+ years. I have always been satisfied, treated fairly and honestly, and they often save me significant $$. They get my highest level of recommendation. Keep up the good work! ;-))

Be warned, their lifetime brake pads only last 12,000 miles and cost nearly $100 in labor to replace. The pads are free, but not the labor! Thats a brake pad SUBSCRIPTION, not a warranty.I may have saved $30 on initial installation, but chronic replacement isnt cost effective.The technician spoke as if this is normal, that I should get my brake pads changed once or twice a year because brake pads burnout every 12,000 miles.Update, three weeks later. $100 became $140. No surprise, I suppose.

Jerry the manager is a liar and a scam artist and so is his manager Chaz. I got my oil changed here and they checked my air filter too. Said it needed replacing so I wanted to do it myself. I drove 200 feet and my throttle became stuck for 10 seconds (not due to the pedal). I took it back right away and they said some air filter pieces could have fallen into a hole and caused that. I went on my way, 2 weeks later my car breaks down. A mechanic told me an air filter piece fell into that hole and melted onto a wire which finally gave out. That wire is hooked up to a sensor which i had to replace for $263. They wont take responsibility for their carelessness with my air filter and dropping those pieces into that hole. They did say they would have vacuumed it if i let them replace the filter....obviously they know it could have caused an issue but decided to do nothing. They should at least pay for the part i had to replace due to their carelessness. Dont ever go here!!

Went to get an alignment done on my Ford F150. they took my keys and when they were done they took it for a test drive and noticed it still went to right a bit, so they asked to swap my two brand new front tires to see if it helped i said i guess so. they took it for a test drive,and i noticed they came back and another guy got in the car and took it for a test ride, i just put gas in it and they drove it around to much for my liking. they came back and told me my truck STILL goes to the right even worse then before they swapped the wheels. and also wanted to point out that i may have a broken motor mount because of something he noticed while driving it for an alignment check, which is kind of impossible with steel mounts. and my dad already had that problem checked and nothing to do with the motor. they told me to leave my wheels they way they were and if the alignement was bothering me to bring it back and they will swap the wheels back. THANKS for leaving it and risking my tires to get ruined. took it to my BF at discount tire to swap my tires back and he checked my motor mounts- not broken.If you need an alignment, DO NOT go here. i only went because it was cheaper and i had a coupon, huge mistake.

Horrible service. I went in for an alignment and dropped my vehicle off around 2 to which they quoted me 2 hours. So you would think it would be done by 4 (well before they close) right? My vehicle wasnt ready until 2 hours after they closed! Additionally they did a terrible job as my vehicle still pulls to one side and is all over the road. I tried to take it back twice and was hit with a brick wall of excuses: our guy called out sick or the alignment machine is broken... Why didnt they call me and let me know the alignment machine was broken before I wasted my time and gas driving down there? I had an appointment! Oh, and thats another thing: one guy says they make appointments and another says no appointment needed just bring er in. DONT BRING YOUR VEHICLE HERE!

Mechanics try to make money by telling you all the things wrong with your car. They have a good sales pitch but i want to SEE whats wrong with my car, not told! They do the work fast but need to work on proving whats wrong with customers car.

What a rip off. Let me tell you what they do and I have witnessed it. They have spray bottles with oil, water, you name it they got it. They spray it to make you think you got problems. I had my sensor changed there and I got a call saying my car was California emissions no it was not nor has it ever been and they tried telling me to pay more for a sensor. So I came in to get my car and the manager made a mockery outta me and said no one called saying that what a liar. I also when doing that got a tire rotation. I didnt get one I put a silver permant maker on my right back tire to see if they really did it. Guess what that tire never moved. What a joke Im outraged. I wouldnt ever come here again. Ill learn to be a mechanic before I come here again.

Maybe if they revisited their policies on hiring felons they wouldnt have passed on an experienced ASE trained technician. FYI
