I don’t know much about cars or maintenance in general, but my boyfriend said he really enjoyed the service here, so I tried it out. In terms of emailing for estimates, they were nice and timely, and the people over the phone are friendly as well. I went for some preventative maintenance, and they were real thorough in their explanations of what I needed and what was like actually crucial. After the service they even sent me a thank you card in the mail! It was cute. They’re nice people overall and I would go again.

Good place to take your car to get fixed or inspected. Very fast and friendly service. Luckily I am mechanically inclined and know how to work on cars. I had my car inspected there and if I didnt know how to fix my own cars, I would be out a whole lot of money. I couldnt believe how much these shops charge just to fix a few minor things.

I am Very disappointed with Wells Automotive. My car shut down on a major highway while I was driving. All dashboard lights came on and power steering went out. This was an Extremely dangerous situation so I had it towed to Wells Automotive. They SAID they fixed the Alternator. Well less than a week later The same Dangerous situation happened on the highway. I called Wells who said bring it back in, yet it was undrivable so they had to be talked to by my significant other then they sent a towe truck to get it, they said it was fixed . Now here I am AGAIN Only a couple of months later with the SAME Dangerous Highway situation happened Again on the highway for a 3rd time causing Another towe. Howard from Wells said they would call me by the end of the day,, well they did Not, the next morning I called them, This time I was told they used the cheapest parts because I had a warranty. They must have got the parts from a junkyard Endangering my and my children lives Several Times. And I had to get a rental car èach time.. I am an Extremely Unsatisfied and feel mistreated.In response to my review response !To owner, I was Absolutely told by Howard of Wells Automotive that the cheapest alternator was used because of my warranty and when the 3rd incident happen, then I had to ask about using a different part and was told I would have to pay the difference of $53 which was covered Only after my significant other spoke with both my warranty company and the owner.When my vehicle was towed the first time it was covered by My own insurance. The second time, when they spoke with my significant other, yes Wells did have it towed as it was their fault and the third towe I had to use My AAA coverage. So please be honest and accurate in your responses

I took my car in for a clicking noise in the right front wheel whenever it was torqued in forward or reverse direction. I also did much research on the likely cause (loose axel nut) and personally explained it to the mechanic. I then received a call back saying the cause was the motor mounts, and it would cost $2200 dollars to fix. I then called the dealer (JBA) to see what new motor mounts would cost and they said $1800. I also doubted the Wells diagnosis as the cause of the problem and took it to JBA for a second opinion. JBA confirmed loose axel nut, and simply retorqued it to eliminate the problem. I spoke with the Wells owner and to his credit he reimbursed the diagnostic fee and apologized for the incorrect diagnosis. I may need new engine mounts some day but at this point there are no symptoms being caused by them.

Wells Automotive has been our go-to for our cars in the past 5 years. They’ve taken care of minor maintenance as well as major repairs. The staff is professional, friendly, and honest. They actually explain what’s wrong with your car, which is necessary for a person like me who is not mechanically inclined.

I had my Grand Caravan in for an ABS issue and rear A/C issue a few weeks back. The staff at Wells was quick to diagnose and fixed the issue without trying to charge for parts I didnt need. They even helped me out with the cost by saving me a couple hundred bucks off the original quote. It was very much appreciated.

Wells Automotive is one of those off the beaten trail, best kept secret kind of businesses. The experience was that of getting service at a luxury auto shop, and I drive a 1995 Subaru. I highly recommend this business. I will continue to get my vehicle serviced there.

Today (4/20/2020) just gotten off of an overnight shift, was going to hold off until the weekend. But I end up calling shop to see about any available spots being available for this morning or afternoon. Yes, there were and I was able to do 8:30a. The staff there were amazing excellent customer service. They asked questions and I asked them questions, they were very honest on explaining to me the work my car has to have done to it.After the inspection was completed, I received my print outs and prices of what needed to be done. I must say I was honestly please with the price, I thought I would be running out the door lol. Im glad that I took the time out on Google searching for shops and end up find Wells Automotive. Ive read every review on Google about this place and they were all positive feedback, which made me want to give this place a try. I made the right decision. Thank you

Excellent work for a reasonable price. I am adding on to my original 5 star review as there was a situation from that repair that caused the car to not run correctly. I met with Katie and they checked it out. Mr. Wells called to inform me that he would stand behind his Technician and make my it right. Refreshingly rare these days!!! They need to add a star as Ive ran out.

I went there to replace my manifold gasket. The person whom gave me an estimate advised me the bolts sometimes break when pulling off the manifold (which I had heard previously was common). So she gave me a price to replace the gasket and replace the bolts if they snap off. I very much expected the repair to be on the higher end of the estimate. However, after the work was done I was told it went good and the price was actually the lowest estimate they had gave me. Honesty is key with a mechanic and I will always take my truck here in the future.

I ABSOLUTELY Love WELLS AUTOMOTIVE! Katie is GREAT to work with. Really knowledgeable and concerned with answering any question that the customer may have.I was originally referred to Wells a couple years ago when I resided in PASADENA. They provided such wonderful service, that once I moved to Upper Marlboro there was no question as to whether I would continue to bring my vehicles to them for repair.This is a MECHANIC Shop that you can TRUST! They have NEVER tried to sell me unnecessary repairs. Even when I go in with a laundry list of things that I think need to be done, they have informed me that: my tires DID NOT NEED REPLACING, and that I DID NOT NEED A TUNE UP.In the past, I have had bad experiences trying to find a shop that will work on my imports, provide excellent customer service and are reasonably priced. I was looking for a place to get my steering rack and pinion unit replaced and they got me in so quick (thank god). I called and talked to Sarah told her I needed my car fixed on Wednesday and told them I would really like if it would be done and ready to go for Monday. They got me in the very next day and my car was done on Friday night! They also found there were a few other things that needed replaced within the steering system and made sure they were fixed and ready to go for me. They even worked with me as much as they could on the price which was amazing! They also explained everything to me so I would completely understand what all they were doing and why it needed to be done. Thank you to Sarah, Howard, Ray, and Matt for helping me out with my car. This is where I will be going from now on to get my car fixed. Very professional and friendly.

Amazing service.This was my first time using Wells and I will continue to do so as long as I live in the area.I went in a few minutes before they closed one evening, they stayed 25 minutes late with me writing up a service proposal and explained to me what and why the charges were what they were.Dropped it off in the morning before work, they called me around noon and I picked my vehicle up after work with no issues.This is a small business at its best. They understand customer service and have a good business model.Two weeks after my first service with Wells I got a thank you card with a service gift card valuable for $25.00! I couldnt believe it!Make sure to give them a try, you wont regret it.

Great service, he always gets my car in and usually gets it done in at least a day or two, his prices are reasonable, he personally comes out to speak to me every time about my vehicle and explain thoroughly the ins-and-outs of the problem and and even gives me tips on how to avoid it in the future, secretaries really nice and even she knows a lot about whats going on, and I couldnt be happier as far as the knowledge goes at Wells with the owner and his technicians.Ive been going to him for years for my vehicle needs. He backs up everything with 100% warranty. All of his work is backed up and one time I even had a problem that went over into the next year and he still honored the work that he had done in the previous year even though it was a complete year later.Yes I would recommend Wells Automotive that wants efficient and quality work being backed up as much as possible and not being too expensive either.

Stay away! This shop is a prime reason why people do not trust auto auto repair shops. I cant prove it, but Ive been in the industry my whole life, and the car mysteriously left with problems that it did not have when it went in. After looking at it myself it was clear to me that they created a problem to try and sell work. Do yourself a favor find an honest shop.

The entire experience at Wells Automotive is great! You will experience top notch service advisors who work with you to understand your unique situation. The mechanics are thorough. Between the mechanics and service advisors you will have an accurate assessment of the repairs needed on your car or light truck. Location is very easy to get to. The owner, Ray Wells, absolutely stands behind the work performed at Wells Automotive. We have been customers since the 1990s and moved to Delaware in 2013. We still come back to Wells Automotive to a trusted car repair business.

Had several botched repairs. mechanic even left a screwdriver under hood luckily didnt get loose and fall on the belt. might be fine for domestics but I wouldnt recommend taking a luxury or foreign here, these guys are lost when it comes to diagnosis. Went to independent mercedes shop and they diagnosed it in 1 day. why wells couldnt figure it out I dont know.

A week ago we visited Wells Auto (on recommendation from a friend). Today, one week later, I have a beautiful custom-built Jeep in my garage. Somehow, this happened without one bit of stress, and for significantly less money that I anticipated paying for a brand-new, factory-warranted Jeep. Mike Wells has exceeded our expectations for service, quality of work and pricing. He is kind and extremely well-informed, and - so rare in this day and age - does exactly what he promises, when he promises. He answered all of our questions within hours, if not minutes via phone or email (we drove 1.5 hours to see his cars - AND - he delivered ours for free!). I was a bit uncertain about lift height and tire choice, and Mike chatted with me several times, respectfully weighing in his opinion on the look I was going for, and he was spot on. On a scale of 1-5 stars, Id give him a 10 if I could!

When I first dropped off my car the service tech seemed knowledgeable and capable. They called me the next day to say they broke a part while fixing something and wanted me to pay for the part and the labor to fix it. I was fired up. They declined to split the cost of pay for any of it. I had my vehicle towed out of there and payed them for what they had done already. I will never go back.

Wells is re-writing the book on traditional auto mechanics / service. Their exemplary professionalism and courtesy is just the start. They are clear and accurate when estimating availability and duration of repair. They dont try to upsell you on additional work needed. They emailed me with a link to their inspection and diagnostic results, including digital photos of the problems and worry-spots. They discuss the issues in a very clear and knowledgeable way, deftly picking up on my own knowledge-base and speaking to me one-on-one. Showed me specific problems first-hand. I only discovered them recently, but theyve worked on two of my high-mileage vehicles so far, one of them twice. They have quickly become my mechanic of choice by a long run, and I will continue to go to them until enough people find out about them that they get too busy or go Hollywood!

I have used Raymond since he started the business as a one person show (Raymond). Recently I had a reoccurring problem with my vehicle. They were able to track the issue down to a little known technical service bulletin put out by Honda. They also learned that thanks to a lawsuit filed by Honda owners experiencing the same issue, Honda extended the warranty for this issue which had to do with the pistons. When I first took it to Honda they would not cover the issue, when I explained what I had learned from Wells, Honda readily agreed and made the warranty repair. Honda told me that the repair would have cost me $7000, but thanks to what Wells found and the extended warranty, it cost me nothing and I basically got a rebuilt engine. This was over six months ago and the problem is solved.This is just one of many stories that I could tell on how they have helped us through the years. Are they the cheapest, no. But they are cheaper than a dealer and in my experience do better work. I have found the work will be done right and if there is a issue they will back their work, or find what the issue is to fix it correctly.

In the last 2 weeks my daughter & I both took our cars there. Mine was NOT checked out properly as I asked for. I wanted my car looked at as if it were going in for Md inspection. What I got was their courtesy inspection which is pretty much useless. I wanted to know what my car needed to be safe and what repairs it needed. The courtesy inspection ONLY involves what they can see with their eyes. So my back brakes were not checked amoung other things.When the shop called me about my car the guy could not after being asked 3 times what the differences were between the 2 inspections give me an answer.Finally I gave up ever getting an answer & asked then that they change my oil (btw go else where fir oil change Wells is an arm & leg) & see why the anti lock break light was on. In a very short time we were on the phone again... Car is ready for p/u again question why was the brake light on. Answer you never said to check that So car winds up there a 2nd day as it was close to closing.My daughter had a similar experience with the list of work she wanted done. 1 item was to check to see why drivers window quit working. They never checked it. During her phone call the reason was they were waiting to talk to her was to tell her tgey had to open up the door to check the window... Well Duh!!Beside the high price for the oil change Wells wanted $50 to rotate her tires. Visit jiffy lube or similar for these services they are tobs cheaper!We both will be looking for a different shop qhen it comes to car repairs.I forgot I had issues with a Md. Inspection years ago with Wells. They wanted to fail my van when it actually passed. If my father had not been in the business I would have never known my van passed. He had to call the state police to show wells they were wrong so they would pass my van.
