Good selection but HORRIBLE customer service. Not one single person asked me if I needed help finding anything, but they were falling all over themselves others. Apparently this store is in the practice of only helping/ catering to a certain demographic, its definitely sad and I will be sure to tell everyone that I can about this experience. Maybe Sephora isnt so bad, heck after how I was ignored Walmart isnt so bad.
I wish every store/company provided this level of customer service. How anyone shop anywhere else is mind blowing. They helped my wife and got her everything she needed. 5 star service, easily.
Usually pay the prices because great service but I felt like a bother. Not sure I will return.
My favorite store did not disappoint. I was looking for Kiss brand magnetic lashes which they did not have. She then proceeded to enlighten me on the brand she was wearing. They cost more but I was sold. Wish I got her name.

No problems with the staff. Theyre always very helpful. However, I bought a tube of Tightline Mascara by IT Cosmetics and it was dry as the desert. It makes me wonder how long it had actually been sitting on the shelf. Take note that you dont see an expiration date on cosmetics. After my return; I WILL NOT be going back.
Been a member since 2010.. the rapid decline of these stores is amazing... Ive had to point out to employees products they infact sell after being told they dont... Been ignored I dont know how many times... Bad old fragrance samples left for display... Its been just year after year getting worse and worse... This will definitely be my last year dealing with this wreck.... Oh last time I asked to use my points.. and she sat typing on computer.. but never put it in.... It has become a place where loud employees who would rather help certain types of people.. Im white.. so its not me... Ive spent god knows how much in this place.. I should have stayed with Sephora!

What can I say I always leave very pleased with my purchase and experience! My favorite Manager in the store is the Latina I believe her name is Monica! She goes beyond the call of duty knows all the products and I end up spending a ton of money when shes their. She contacts me when they have store events and is very accommodating. The other ladies are pleasant but she goes the extra mile. She should be promoted, if they lose her they will lose an amazing asset. Everyone else does not equal her value!
I always shop from this store because it is close to me but I never check the price of the same thing in different places. This time I bought a face serum they charged me 42$ the same product else where is 28$. I saw accidentally the same product in target which was 28$ and then check every other places all of them sale the product 28$ but this store try to cheat so be careful. When I called them to correct the price the cashier was very rude and telling me she can’t do anything over the phone. My receipt was in my hand but the cashier saying she can’t do anything she doesn’t know how much is the price, then after 30 mins wait she found me in their system but still didn’t help me.
First of all, I never take the time to write reviews unless I had a terrible experience, and I in fact, did. It was my first time trying the Ulta salon and after yesterday I will not go back. I’m giving 2 stars because despite my experience, my hair turned out how I wanted. But, my stylist, Vicky, was just not friendly whatsoever and honestly quite rude. When she sat me down, she didn’t even ask how I was or anything about myself or my hair. Instead, just got annoyed that I wanted to do something a little extra that would take a little more time. The rest of the time she didn’t say one word to me and it was completely awkward for me.Fast forward the service, I declined a blow dry because I felt so uncomfortable and unappreciated by not only her, but everyone else in the salon area. The receptionist was completely unprofessional when I told her I had a coupon to use. She gave me an annoyed look and so did my stylist like i was being an inconvenience. I’ve worked in customer service/retail my whole life and this was one of the poorest examples I’ve ever seen.Long story short, I will not be going back because of the unprofessional environment and lack of customer experience my stylist gave.
Ive shopped Ulta in the past, different locations, and loved it. I was in the store for well over an hour and while I saw numerous employees, not one offered assistance or asked if I found what I was looking for. Im in retail so I understand there isnt always an opportunity but the staff seemed preoccupied with catching up with each other. I left without what I went for and am now really appreciating and looking forward to my next visit to Sephora. The difference is night and day.
Staff was very kind and courteous. Would have been nice to be able to shop with perhaps a small basket or cart. Im disabled and sometimes find it difficult to walk around the store.
I came out to this Ulta instead of my usual one in Short Pump. I was looking for a specific mascara and of course they didn’t have it I s rock even though it’s a standard brand for them! BUT an employee gave me a good recommendation for alternative. Not my favorite, but I appreciated the ingenuity.
Large selection of perfuy, hair and makeup products. Look for sale. Mini facial available. Havent tried hair salon service. Most prices are within reasonable range but some need to come down. Use store card to get bonus points. Staff nice and tries to guide you to products that work for your skin. Parking not an issue.
Don’t say you open at 11am for in store pick up and then tell me in person that you don’t do in store pick up. I also wasn’t the only one trying to pick up. Have better communication with your customers
When you walk in the door, you are greeted by pleasant associates and by lovely scents. Store is well lit, but not ugly bright. The stylists all get along and are welcoming and pleasant, but not too chatty. A true professional, Elizabeth Adams did an especially lovely job on my hair highlights and cut. After my visit to Ulta, I feel ready for the holiday season

I visited ulta beauty for the very first time today. I got a gift card for my birthday. When I walked in I had no idea where to start. And that was when Sandra came along and welcomed me in. She asked what brings me in and how I was doing. I explained it was my first time and what I was looking for. She explained where I could everything and walked me over to the spot I was looking for. Sandra and a couple other Associates checked in on me and asked if I needed any help. I felt very welcomed and will definitely be coming back. I got an item on sale for just $2.50! I love the deals!
Very friendly service. They corrected me when I thought I had the correct product. Wonderful Customer Rewards program. Good selection, I was shopping for make up brushes for a gift, and found a kit with a great price and even had money left in my budget to buy a make up sponge to go with the brushes!
Always helpful. I was a tad sad they didnt have the stuff I came for. They always seem sold out but the staff there are always cheerful and kind.

Every time we go there the promos are never honored. There is always fine print or a loophole. Plus, they are rude and will not honor a sale when they forget to pull the sale sign for. Guess I’m heading to sephora from now on.
Had an amazing experience today! Was offered help from at least three workers even though the store was packed. Ashley was super helpful with finding the perfect brow products for me and was so sweet!
They have a great selection, but despite all the people working there I had a hard time getting someone to help me in a more consultative way. I would expect a store to be more helpful than just ordering online...I had to Google stuff anyways.
The employees here were all lacking -- except one who rocked. First, almost all of the IT brushes were gone. When I asked if there were more in the back they simply told me no. Didnt even give me the option to order online OR try to help me find another brush. When I asked where other brushes were, another employee simply pointed all the way across the store to direct me. I had no idea where I was going. After working in two retail stores, I know you should NEVER point-- always walk your customer. Third, I asked the employee at the register if they did anything for birthdays. She said yes and that I should have received an email. I politely said that I have an account with them (had my card and email w me AND my bday is on file/I also could have just shown my ID) and that I cant find the email. She didnt really care and said oh. Unwilling to help. Meanwhile, the employee next to her was AMAZING and went above and beyond to give me the monthly birthday gift. Rang it up and everything. She was a taller black woman with blue/green hair. These employees need to learn a little something from her!
Love, love, love this store!!! I have so much fun trying and looking at all the different products they have. The sales staff are very helpful. courteous, and friendly. This store has really great prices and sales on so many different cosmetics, hair, skin, nails, and all tools for each..

Regine at the Brow Bar has been Waxing and Tinting my Brows for a yr now and they always come out looking so Natural and really frame my face. I wouldnt go anywhere else. 😊

I dont know much about the products in this store but my wife really likes it, and she likes the service she gets from the ladies that work here. Also, it was clean and well stocked.
Employees are not interested in helping customers. Rarely have shade of product needed. Both true this visit. I needed help with Dermablend products to cover birthmark. One employee flew by me offering help, but was 12 feet away when they finished their verbal offer and kept going. Second employee flies by me in a similar manner. Offering assistance, but not allowing time for my response. I played with product samples. The one that matched best was not in stock.
It cost me $180 for partial highlights and my hair is shoulder length! I like the girl who cut my hair, and it looks okay (not much different than it did when I went in), however she never informed me of any extra charges! I went in thinking it would cost around $85-$110. There were charges I didnt understand and she never informed me. The highlights cost me $85 and then I was charged $45 for a cut and style which all she did was a fast trim of a few hairs that were too long on the bottom. I did not ask her to style my hair she just did it, and never informed me it cost more. I assumed it was a part of the price since she just went ahead and did it. Then there was a toner fee (again which I was not informed, and had no idea what that was since it was my first time getting highlights). There was one other fee, which I have no idea what it was. She also kept leaving to go help another customer who did not have an appointment. I was so annoyed and flustered because I was running late. I will not be going back for something so simple as highlights if its going to cost so much!
I mostly come here for the salon- and that alone is worth 5 stars!!! I was struggling to find someone who would do vivid, colorful hair (who actually knew what they were doing). They matched me up with Cheryl and Ive been seeing her for almost a year now- shes amazing!!! Shes easy to talk to, and does an amazing job as a stylist. She took my hair from a box dye black to fire engine red, to a steely silver, brown, and shes even done platinum blonde for me. Once the color didnt come out quite like we imagined and she had me come in and re-did it entirely, free of charge. Will give your hair conditioning treatments and if you want to make a color jump that might damage your hair, she makes sure you know what youre getting into beforehand (hair health wise, and financially lol). Any of the stylists here will take care of you, but really, ask for Cheryl, ESPECIALLY if you love unnatural hair colors!!
Despite me doing most of my shopping online, everytime I visit here and I always have a nice experience. The manager in the hair salon is always kind to me and he likes to make me feel welcomed!

I don’t know anything about styling hair, went in looking for a curler and decided to buy a beachwaver. Unsure of what products I needed, I found TAYLA! She was super helpful by finding & showing me products that I needed and arent too harsh for my thin fine hair. I thought I was done but she reminded me about buying hair clips and brushes. I wouldve gotten home to find that I had forgotten to buy them if it wasn’t for her! Lol . She even showed me some cool detangler brushes that wont tear my long fine hair apart. Got me signed up for loyalty program before I left, which was super quick. Shes the real MVP! ❤️Plus, bonus gift with my large purchase! :D
Looking for a pack of mascara wands. They dont carry them. Seems a bit odd for a beauty supply store.
I went to the salon today trying to get a medium-lightish brown on the bottom half of my hair and some light pieces in the front. My hair turned out SUPER dark and I look like a 50 year old woman with salt and pepper hair.I called Ulta and stylist had an attitude with me and gave me these excuses on why she screwed my hair up:1) She told me I was late (I was 5 minutes late, that’s great for Short Pump)2) I was written down for something else entirely even though I explained my situation to the receptionist the day before. I even spoke to the stylish before we started and she said she had time to dye AND cut my hair. (We had 2 hours)Because of these things, the stylist believes I should have to pay full price again to get it fixed.I WILL NEVER RETURN. If you HAVE TO go, only go to Rivkah. 🤘🏻Oh yeah, but the hair trim was decent. It’s the only reason there are 2 stars.
This location never have a variety of men’s products. To be honest they don’t even have a men’s section, the employees always look lost.
Went in for my wife. Associate who helped me with finding make up was good but my cashier wasnt. Cashier Paige was checking me out rang something up which price was different then where it sat. A make up mirror. Well 70% of them were in the wrong spot but wouldnt honor the price and said sometimes customer re arrange things. Felt like i was told I re arranged all that for a $20 cheaper price....
Love this store but the last time I was in there, there were rude condescending employees. When I asked a simple question they spoke to me as if I were a child.
This was my first trip to an Ulta. I usually go to Sephora or just order online directly from the brand. This experience was pretty terrible.I was there for about 35 minutes shopping and I was not talked to the entire time. Someone finally spoke to me as I walked up to the register and I tried to ask a question but she was short with me.A lot of the products were either sold out, missing from their correct spaces, colors not labeled correctly or samples missing.Some samples were so dried up and untestable.I went to see the new ABH palette but I did not see it in the store. I thought I read it would be available at Ulta on 10/10/19.Large product amount of ColourPop makeup!A very nice Benefit bar/makeup tables, with a large selection of Benefit makeup.
The line was so long. It was the lenght of half the store. I had to put my merchandise back because I was going to be late to my movie.
Was greeted by many people in the store and had a friendly checkout experience. Unfortunately, would not recommend the salon. Despite pictures and feedback, I didnt get the look I was after and was overcharged for it. I asked for an Everyday Make Up Application- must have been the crazy-heavy cat eye that bumped me up to a Formal because I left with barely any product on my face and no recommendations about what I could buy. When I asked if we could take down some of the thick wing on my eye make up I was told Not really. Youd have to undo all of it. I was also charged $35 for Style with Curl for a braid and a ponytail with no curling. Perhaps just a junior stylist, but more training about responding to customer feedback would help. Biggest waste of $95 ever.
I went in for a specific Urban Decay eyeliner that the Ulta website said was in stock at my local store. It wasnt. I also saw online that certain mascaras were on sale but there was no indication they were discounted in the store. After a price check, I found out they were indeed on sale. But no one would know that if they were just browsing. It was an ok experience. Nothing spectacular and the staff wasnt all that helpful (except for the price check.) I may just order from Urban Decay itself to save me another trip to the store.
Waited in line for 17 mins. Only 2 registers open. Customers left and no apology. However, my person checking me out was delightful. Need more people to working the registers at brook road Ulta.

Awful - My experience this afternoon with this location was terrible. I waited over 30 minutes for my brows to be told that Id have to return 2 hours later to get them done (when there was no one in the store and associates were standing around). The Benefit cosmetic area did not have the displays out and were piled up off to the side.
My favorite Ulta in the Richmond area. One, they are helpful without being invasive. Two, they dont follow you around everywhere. (I understand the need for loss prevention but there is sutble way to do it, which most other ultas are not good at) Three, it is always well stocked and organized. Four, its a bit off the main shopping areas in Richmond so you dont fight crowds often. Great place overall.

I popped in to Ulta to pick up some hair dye on a Sunday afternoon. I think it was about 15 minutes before the store was going to close but I was just grabbing some guy I basically knew what I needed but I was just perusing the selections. the sales lady came up to me and asked me if I needed any help and then informed me that the store was going to close soon. Having been a retail manager in the past I very distinctly remember how we used to go around and sort of try to nudge people out of the stores at times but also how it was completely forbidden to do that type of thing and you really have to just let people shop until theyre finished. I personally didnt really like this and I looked up at her and said that she shouldnt worry I would get out of there as quickly as possible. Its just kind of distracting to be told that the store is going to close and that you basically need to hurry up. also the store as usual did not have all their sale information posted so when I finally got to the register the cashier told me that the product I was getting was buy one get one and I should get another so I had to venture back in the store where I definitely drew the eye of the same sales person who was trying to get me out before. It was very awkward I just always feel like the store could do a little bit better
