The Jcpenney at Virginia Center Commons has been one of my go to stores for menswear and childrens clothing.

Store is getting ready to close there permanently. It was always a very nice store and great location. They have great sales there right now, with everything discounted. Just know, there are NO returns once purchased.

Location is closing and I just realized it. Swung in when I saw the signs to check for outstanding savings but there werent any. It reminded me why I didnt regularly shop here. The closing % off was less cost saving than an average sale. Sad another retailer is leaving the mall though.

Wow, dont visit. Sales are absolutely a joke. I did manage to find final clearance, not so bad. Fine jewelry beware! I bought a bracelet online for 49.00 less than in the store, and the in the store product was supposed to be half off.

Big sale 40 to 60% off merchandise, everything in the store is for sale since this location is closing. Guys average sizes mostly gone, same for women. Plenty of underwear etc... Even the furniture is going, racks, tables etc... Have a go if you needed something probably a good time to go get it...

My favorite store. This store will be closing in May of this year. I think this is the last Pennys closing in our area. Will truly miss them.

Store closing at Virginia Center, some items 70% off, most at 30% off. Found several good buys in mens and womens dept. Good savings depends on what youre looking for.

JCP at Va center commons has been my go-to for over 7 years almost always found a great buy on clearance. Will miss the physical store experience

Im so glad you asked, i had the worst experience yesterday there was african American older lady with short red hair she had the worst disposition ive ever experienced.she was very rude in speaking with me. I thought i was in the right line to check out but i didnt know that that wasnt the line

Pricey but with a good atmosphere. Manages to feel both connected and disconnected from the rest of VCC.

Now I know why places why this are going out of business and shutting down. They only had one register open for both checkouts and customer service. I stood in line for 20 minutes waiting to checkout and they had been with the same lady the entire time. There was only one other employee working and she was in the jewelry department but wouldnt checkout regular customers. Absolutely ridiculous. I will never shop there again.

Nice and clean. Went in for bras without underwire, not alot to choose from. Very disappointed. I wanted to try on instead of ordering and having to send back it I dont like them. Lingerie needs to improve.

Short of staff on floor. Too much merchandise (ladies dept) for ease of shopping. Was interested in buying an item, however associate slow in processing customer ahead of me because merchandise wasnt ringing up properly.

Stopped to pick up an order. Clerk at the front register disappeared when I was ready to pick up. Went to where the orders used to be picked up (years ago), no one there. One cashier working with a line and a couple of customers decided to open charge accounts. I saw a total of 4 people working the floor. Was told that they were not allowed to stand near the registers when no customers are there. Makes it hard to find a register open. Need more employees. The clerk was pleasant and very accommodating to customers. Just hard to find more than one register opened.

This is probably the last time going to JC Penny due to its closing in May right now 40% off to 60% off sale and all store fixtures are being sold off sad day for retail stores.

This rating is in regards to the portrait studio. We had an appointment tonight for 7pm. I called a few days prior to discuss the session and spoke with a less than enthusiastic employee who sounded irritated with call. I let the young man know we have two dogs we would be bringing for the session and he said it was fine as we selected the latest appointment of the day. We arrived 10 minutes prior to our appointment and the photographer was still talking pictures of the group ahead of us. He did not apologize or excuse himself to greet my husband as I was outside with the dogs. 20 minutes later he said I could pick a background. After waiting another 20 minutes with no end in sight, we left. We did not get any pictures and no apology for the wait. With an appointment for 7 pm I do not expect to be standing outside at 730. We will not be going back.

Its definitely a JCPenney, stocked with all the comfortingly generic patriotic t shirts and Britney Spears licensed perfumes you could ever need. Mostly clean, but there isnt many employees for some reason and the line at the register seems consistently long. But yeah its a department store so I guess these things are expected? Good luck

Picked up purchase made JCP on line. Cashier was friendly and cordial; however it must have been her first day on the job. It took about 20 minutes to get my order even though I was first in line. I must say I was pleasantly surprised. I loved my purchase so much (diamond earrings) I went home and ordered another pair.

Not what it used to be. Me and several other customers waited outside of store for it to open. No one opened on time. Kept calling store and no one answered. They finally opened door to let customers in. Items were not organized and not best selection. Wanted to get some bedding and limited selection and found several items that were outside of package.

There were very few employees on the floor. Absolutely none in the mens department to assist me or answer questions and only two between the childrens and womens departments. The prices were reasonable but the absence of personnel and shoppers made me feel like the business was about to close for good. I even asked the cashier if that was the case. She denied it. I hope she was right. Id hate to lose another one of my favorite stores.

The staff is very nice! Not crowded bc its kinda old and small. However you can get good stuff at low price here!

Coupons is available online, cashier provided the information allowed me to perform the search.

VCC Penny has terrible customer service.

I got to the store bright and early. The store was well stocked, the cashiers were cheerful and helpful.

Mens Dept was well stocked and orderly. Mindy the Sales Associate was very helpful, polite and courteous. I had my purchase in short order. I will definitely return here for future purchases.

Ive been a J C Penney shopper since I was aChild & now a proud senior citizen & I still shop till I drop. It makes me feel like I am family. I have never ever had problems there

Reena showed outstanding customer service at checkout and also handled my pick up order from online on top of our in store purchases. Will definitely be returning, she was awesome.

Really good selection of mens clothing and with offers, discounts, and credit rewards I was able to get around $750 worth of merchandise for under $350 which earned more rewards to come back and get another $500 worth of merchandise for just under $200. I am also really happy with the quality of everything that I purchased.

Prices were very good better-than-expected. The Associates excellent. The customer service was far better than expected.

Dead and dying further. Its almost the only store left in a once thriving shopping mall. Just a drive around the mall will tell the story. This is a brand that unfortunately is gasping its last breaths. Very little stock, though not as bad as Sears has been over recent years. You can feel the depression as soon as you enter and you kind of feel bad for the employees here.

Linda that sold us the washer was very nice and helpful. The guys delivering the washer dropped it if there Tommy gate. Washer send okay but who knows.

They have an okay selection. The cashiers dont seem like they wanna be there. Didnt receive any help while looking for my selection. The cashiers kind of just throw the bag at you when you check out. Most other places hand you your bag and wish you a good day. Would probably go out of my way to go Regency or short pump next time.

Went to get a haircut, drove an hour and a half away because theres nowhere around where I live that will cut my hair how I want or takes walk-ins. I get here at 1pm and the salon is completely empty. Theres another lady in there who had an appointment at 1. Someone finally walks in at 1:05 and asks me what I need, I say to get a haircut and if they have anything available. She tells me she doesnt know and that the location is shutting down. I ask her if the location is shutting down today and she says no so I ask so can you do a hair cut? To which I get the response I dont know.Walk-ups not welcome, apparently people with appointments arent either

Its 50 people in there and they only got one line open. Too many people in one spot.

Clean, tidy and stocked. Bit of a ghost town though, (customers and employees). Outside landscaping not maintained. Maybe mall isnt doing its job because the mall is dying?

Love the store just sad to see it so quiet. I think there were only 4 other people in the entire store.

Virginia Commons Mall looks like the ancient ruins of a lost civilization but the JC Penny is still open and doing well. The staff are friendly and helpful and there are plenty of bargins to be found. The store is clean and orginized. Its a shame they are located in such a mess of a mall

This JC Penney is neat, spacious, and contains a wide variety of merchandise at reasonable prices. In an age of on line shopping, to find a department store that looks this good is a rarity.

I love JCP. The only reason I give it 4 stars is because I couldnt find my size in Capri pants I wanted. I wear small. I will go back in a week and see if my size is available, then I will update my review.

The store is nice its clean and the cashier that helped us to friendly and helpful. She explained everything about the Jcpenney card and the rewards points.

Customer service was helpful, but when he measured me, I tried on a shirt with the measurements he gave me and it was too small. Make sure to try your clothes on before leaving 😉
