This was such a great night. Good food, music, and fun! I will definitely be coming back to this hidden gem.

Here in Richmond on a business trip decided to come here on Friday night (first visit) and I must this place is live!! Service and the bartenders were friendly and the food was very good I had the salmon and it was cooked to perfection and the hookah is very good & smooth! I will definitely make this my go to spot whenever I’m back in VA. And oh the jazz music and the person singing was the perfect vibe and I think they have a DJ playing afterwards again best place cigar/hookah lounge I ever been too!

We celebrated my brother-from-another-mothers birthday here this past weekend and we had such a good time! We were able to make reservations for $5 per person. Totally worth it to ensure a table because this place gets packed. I dont know much about cigars but they had a really nice selection. The place is huge, the bar is well stocked, the drinks are strong, the customer service was excellent, the food was good, and the place is very well ventilated.We were only slated to go Friday, but we had such a good time that we went back Saturday as well! Friday, they had Mike on the piano. This man has an amazing voice and was singing allllllll the oldies but goodies and hit EVERY note with perfection! He had the whole place JAMMING! After he finished his set, their DJ was up next and we continued to party until about 1:30. A.M. before heading home!Mike, the general manager, was really cool and went above and beyond for our group! I cant thank him enough! The two gentlemen at the door (hosts/bouncers) were on their A-game each night making sure all ran smoothly! The waitresses/ bartenders kept everyone happy and glided through the establishment with such ease and professionalism, dropping off food, drinks, and pleasant banter each time!All and all, it was a really enjoyable experience and we will definitely be heading back next time we are in Richmond!

Manager could use some customer service classes and stop stereotyping black folks. He was very rude and unprofessional. I come to this establishment about 10 times a year and this might be my last time coming. I work to hard for my money for some nightlife manager to tell me how to spend it.

If i could give 0 stars i would. The managers wife sat next to us and she watched us the whole time. She stared at every move we made. My sister started to feel nauseous so she stood up and his wife insinuated that we were about to run out on the check. She called her husband over and told him and he proceeded to watch us as well. I said something to the both of them and they chose to gaslight me and make it seem as if i didn’t know what i just heard and saw. I did some research and saw that the owner is Emir, if this was not the owner who was here tonight, then you may want to get rid of this man and his wife because most of your patrons are black and it is unacceptable for them to make us feel uncomfortable the way we did tonight.

If I could rate lower I would. The manager was a straight azz. My sister ordered a meal and it was burnt. Manager said he didnt care if it was burnt.. he didnt offer an apology or even to remake. Stated that he didnt care if it was burnt. If it was ordered it needed to be paid for which we never said that we wouldnt. We just wanted food that was editable. This is why we need to get better about spending in black establishments! Wont be back!

The whole atmosphere was exciting. Staff was great. Music and guest were superb. Will definitely be back!! The Bachelorette Celebration that I planned there was a success. The Bride2B really enjoyed herself!! Happy Bride Happy Tribe!!

Normally, I dont like it when places are really busy, but here its part of a positive vibe. Theres good music, really good food, and a laid back atmosphere that is rare. Worth it.

My friend made a reservation and the staff member who made the reservation said they would hold it until 9pm. Come 8:15 we send our party over to make sure to get our reservation. They apparently have a 15 minute hold on tables but did not inform of us of that until the night of. So they happily took our reservation fee and told us one thing and didnt deliver. It all could have been fixed however James told hes not in the business of making money but in the business of time. We are a party of 16 and one of guys offered to buy the first 40 shots. So you could have 3 people come get two drinks each and 1 cigar and not tip or you could have had an entire party buying drinks all night..... hmm, maybe James shouldnt be in this business because he took money away from your business. I understand we were late and the policy changed however he even said he may not have a table for us for 2 hrs and even if he didnt he would save it for us hahahaha when I say we were drinking another business made a lot of money from us. I am very disappointed as a customer service manager on how this was handled.

One of the nicest cigar bars we have been in....excellent ventilation system. We stopped in for a small bite and a drink; my husband wanted to check out their cigars. They had a nice wine selection as well as a nice whiskey selection. We had the Sausage and Mozzarella flatbread and enjoyed it; the sausage had a light cumin seasoning which was surprising but very good. Service was very friendly....we dont dine in much due to the pandemic but would certainly go back there if the crowd is light and will absolutely go back once we are vaccinated.

The manager is dismissive and the server is not attentive at all. Monas used to be a good place to go to, however I dont know anymore. Also jazz night was advertise and there was a dj.

I give it 3 stars cause it looked like you would have a good time. But never got in people in line for over an hour I wasnt waiting that long. But looks nice!!!

I wish i could give them a zero star but sadly thats not an option. After being told earlier today (2:22 pm) that i had a reservation, after calling a handful of times and not reaching anyone, I called one last time about 30 minutes ago to double check on dress attire and was told there was no such reservation and they are booked. The bartender was nice this review is in no way shape or form directed towards her she was extremely nice. I was told to call back at 6:10 to speak to the manager regarding the situation to see what could be done. I called at 6:10pm this evening and was told theyd been booked for the past 2 days and none of their employees would book for a small group. (Apparently they only book for 5 people or more and I had 3). I then said, I did in fact call and their employee did but me down so I was confused. I was then told to listen and be quiet cause thats how it was and thats how its going to be. I told him I would be checking out some other place as the attitude an arrogance was unneeded.So if youd like to deal with a manager who has an ego complex and cant take responsibility for what his employees had done earlier in the day by all means check it out(excluding the nice female bartender i spoke with on the phone before the manager).---‐------------It is now 1:58am June 20th, 2021.I have responded to the owner Emirs response and will keep you updated.

This place has great energy!....To be honest Its everything you could want in a cigar bar. The only thing I would suggest is the patio needs to be equipped with an outdoor sound system, because whosever mothers radio the were using for the patio, compared to the Dj inside was ridiculous. Turn it up just a little like 10 decibals!!!🤣 Other than that cant complain!!

I always enjoy coming to Monas however last night the manager was nasty, rude, and very disrespectful. The service was horrible...I understand business and it gets busy but my friend and I waited for 20 minutes for drinks and food and the guy took our food to another table and placed all of our food on that table. When speaking to the manager he rudely picked the food up and asked if we wanted it because the people didn’t touch it after it had been sitting on that table and they had been breathing on it. He stated he could not and was not making another if we didn’t want it. I was very disappointed to see that even in a pandemic that the manager would be that careless to offer us our food after it had been sitting on a table with a group of people instead of making an exception to correct the server’s mistake. Obviously he did not care about restaurant regulations nor COVID.

Clean, cool ambiance even mid-day. Various seating options, all comfortable with good space between you and your neighbor. Walking in, I was immediately greeted with a big smile and inviting attitude from Lola, behind the bar. She was also my server and was super nice and told me about all of the deals which was awesome. Will definitely be back again.

An absolute must experience for Cigar Lovers. The band and crowd before the DJ was a Great Grown and Sexy audience. I would recommend the DJ pay more attention to his target audience in their music selection. Sad to say we left shortly after the DJ started .... and I still give the Lounge a 5+💯💯💯

Poorest example of customer service I’ve received post COVID ever. Walked in, not greeted, wanted a table for dinner and was told by the bartender we could sit in chairs and eat from our lap, there was no option given. Manager blows by and bartender points him out and says you can talk to him if you want, I’m just a bartender. Ambiance was poor, service was poor.

What a relaxing place. Was visiting from out of town and came across this cigar bar so I had to stop in. The atmosphere was great and the service was very friendly. It was slow when I visited but that was nice since I had the place to myself. Grabbed an Arturo Fuentes and a Boston lager and enjoyed the football game they had playing. Nice place to relax or get together with friends.

I came for a birthday celebration, everyone else had been before. We were seated as soon as week arrived because there was 3 of us. At the beginning of the evening out waitress (Selma) was very attentive. After 10:30 we had to search for her (several times) to get food or even another drink, she also was a bit rude at times. That was very disappointing. The food, atmosphere and music was great, service was just terrible.

Great selection of cigars with a great staff that is informative about their product and they always make great recommendations when struggling with a choice.

What can I say? The staff was amazing! The atmosphere was great, live music! The cigar selection was perfect. Went in for an evening get together for drinks with family and friends and was ecstatic with the the entire package. The staff was very helpful with a cut and a toast of your cigar selection, which was a decent collection. Seating was comfortable and accommodating for all size groups. Definitely cant wait to return!

The 1st time I came with my girls for ladies night I had a blast (a few months ago). The second time I came with my husband and it was mediocre. The music wasnt as good and the service was kind of slow. This last time was the LAST time absolutely terrible. Our waitress (bless her heart) was taking orders, delivering orders, and bartending for indoors and outdoors! Walked in at 9:20pm and was promptly seated. Waited about 10 minutes to order a drink and a hookah. Got the waters and drink in a reasonable amount of time. Then we had to hunt the waitress down after 10pm advising we never received the hookah, she said they hadnt started yet. We were on a little date night and had to leave by 11pm. It wasnt even worth it. Got the check and left. I have no intentions on returning any time soon.

As a newly married couple, Mona’s has been a wonderful atmosphere to relax, sit back and enjoy great wine, cigars and food! The staff is exceptional and the owner is personable and down to earth. Great place to relax. Not the most seating, so I try to go during hours listed as not too busy and it ends up not being a problem. The live music always creates the right atmosphere. They have a wide range of cigars. The staff is knowledgeable enough to make recommendations and to help friends and associates of mine who do not smoke as often as I do. The ventilation is excellent, so the air is pretty clear. I cannot recommend the place enough.

Not a big smoker, but I tried one anyways. The guy that helped me pick out one was really amazing and helpful. The smoke smell was killer, but Id go back for the amazing burger! Very well cooked and delicious. Great experience.

Went there yesterday night and had an absolutely fantastic time. I am personally not a smoker, but the ventilation was good enough that I never felt the smoke to be an issue. The staff there were all awesome, and I greatly enjoyed speaking with Salma and Lola! Food was delicious and prompt as well. Would highly recommend.

I contacted the Mona Lounge about hosting a birthday party at their venue. I was immediately put in contact with the owner, Emir. He was a pure joy to communicate with and was very accommodating to all of my changing requests. The service was incredible, the food was amazing, and the live band was phenomenal - they even started playing Happy Birthday for the guest of honor. It was truly a remarkable experience. I would absolutely recommend this venue to anyone seeking an evening of excellence. Thank you so much for a wonderful time!

This place is fantastic. Plenty of room. Good food and drinks. The bartender (his name escapes me, but hes half-Turk, half-Greek) is terrific. Good cigar selection in nice humidors.

Great adult atmosphere with a vast array of cigars and drinks to choose from. Never too busy if you go right after work on the weekdays, but Fri and Sat nights are always a big hit, come early to get a seat. Great place to bring some friends/family who are visiting Richmond and want to do something a little different. Believe me, they will not be disappointed.

Excellent cigar lounge. The atmosphere is fantastic. The bartender Selma is a true asset. They have very good prices on cigars and a good selection.The food is great. The salmon was cooked perfectly and the mash potatoes are off the chain.This is a true gem a place where you can actually have a cigar drinks in dinner in this day and age is hard to find. They have an awesome filtration system as you are not overwhelmed with smoke.The live music was awesome. If your in Richmond and enjoy cigars this is the place to go. You will not be disappointed.

I the salmon Alfredo was $18. The price would have been fine, but the portion was extremely small for the price. I asked the manager for more pasta, he said no. I asked for my money back, he said no. I had to beg him and remind him that a box of pasta is only $0.99 before he finally decided to honor my request. I will never go back.....and then the pasta ended up being bland anyway.

This is my first time in virginia and i came to mona for Business. I absolutely loved it! Selma was my waitress and she was amazing!! She gave me very a good cigar suggestion and cocktails pairing. Went here for my BFF birthday. Food and drinks were excellent. Server was very very attentive to our large party. They were able to accommodate our party without notice. Also had a cigar which was a first for me. The DJ kept us entertained. Will make sure to go back whenever Im in town.

I frequent Monas Lounge because theres always a mature and diverse crowd with a DJ spinning the best of throwback r&b with hiphop. A perfect place to catch up with old friends and make new friends. I would give 5 stars but on Friday nights it can be kinda crowded and you may not be able to find a table or a seat at the bar.

Enjoyable place with friendly staff. While not busy or much going on during the day, it looks like they have a lot happening in the evenings throughout the week. Decent selection of cigars and whiskey. Decent happy hour specials.

I went into this establishment around 12:45am to celebrate the birth of my granddaughter. I drove in the middle of the night from Atlanta to arrive in time for her birth. After a full day of being in mommy/grandma mode, at the hospital with family and friends, I decided to treat myself to a couple of my favorite things. I Bought one cigar and ordered 1 drink. By 1:33am they shut off the music and turned on ALL the bright lights. Around 1:43am I looked for my drink and they had taken it away! The only explanation I received from the manager was “They didn’t take it on purpose. I’m sorry. It’s like that here. “ WILL NOT GO AGAIN.

It was different,cool, and very chilled. Good vibes only . The food was good reasonable prices and taste great. They gave great customer service satisfaction. I will definitely be making this one one my top 5 chill spots.

Definitely the place to go if you are looking to have a cigar in Richmond. I always go on a week day right after work. There’s never to much of a crowd and the service is great. Great selection of cigars. There’s also a couple TVs and a small outside area.

The 1st time I went to Mona’s, I had a great time, experienced delicious food, and enjoyed the wonderful atmosphere. I would rate my 1st time 5 stars. Unfortunately, on my 2nd visit I had a very different experience. I was there with a couple friends buying cigars. We went into the humidor to look for a cigar. A couple minutes later, the manager comes in and told us to not hold the cigars (which are in a plastic sleeve) with our hands. The command was uncalled for and the manager was out of line. If he had a reason for it, it should have been explained.

Thre environment is changing, now there are teenagers dancing in the middle of the floor as if its a club. Maybe it was the night I went, but it took away from that level of class Ive come to expect from Monas. The cigar and drink service is still unmatched but I cant do teens.

Absolutely a one star and if I had a negative star to give I would!!!! I went with 6 other people and we were actually there to spend money. We were also there to have a good time as we did the prior night. We were turned away because they said they were at capacity, but we saw approximately 15 patrons leave and 6 people enter. To be honest, I truly feel discriminated against and I would not recommend this establishment to my worst enemy. By far the worst place I have visited in Richmond! I’m lease don’t waste your time!

Relaxed atmosphere with great vibes when Lola and Jayda are working. If they aren’t working, I wont go. If you are new to the area, I suggest you request these ladies for the best experience at Mona’s.

The worse neighbor, place smells, if possible do not visit this place, go to Dave & BustersIn response to the owners answer to my original response: I have actually been to your establishment several times to order takeout dinner in support of our neighborhood businesses - and no, I have never been asked to leave - though apparently from your response, patrons of your establishment are asked to leave frequently enough that you assume I would be one of these people. Further, I have been to many other cigar bars and have never been assailed by the odor that emits from Mona Lounge. My complaint has nothing to do with cigars, it has to do with your substandard and ineffectual ventilations system.Further, the difference between Mona Lounge and all other establishments in West Broad Village, including Dave and Busters, is that DB and others are cognizant of the fact that they are in a mix use community and responsibly monitor their patrons as they leave. Nightly, the residents of West Broad Village, including children, are woken up, usually at 2am, by shouting - many time vulgar words - fighting, and motorcycles revving their engines, as the patrons of Mona Lounge leave at closing. Though MANY of us in the neighborhood have approached management directly, pleading for you to help control your patrons, you have always chosen not to do anything.A critical part of being a business owner is understanding community relations and striving to be a good neighbor to both residents and other business owners. You, Sir, are not one of those people.

A one of a kind and truly wonderful experience. Cigar prices are fair and similar to any other cigar shop but thats not why you come here. One comes to Mona Lounge to enjoy the chair theyre sitting in, the cigar theyre smoking, the well ventilated lounge, the variety of entertainment, and the food. A great place to spend time with friends any night of the week.

Really disappointed in the service here. Reserved a table and 2 out of 4 of our party was here. Traveled from out of town and was looking for a good experience. However, we weren’t allowed to be seated. On simple business principles, it seems you would want people spending as opposed to standing around. Especially for basic atmosphere.

Forget the Dave and Busters next door, come here for a nice relaxing smoke and some delicious beer on tap. The staff was really nice when I explained it was my first time there and the guys I sat next to were either quiet or friendly. A great way to unwind after work.
