Took a day trip to Richmond and was looking for a barber to get a quick cut. Came across this shop that had pretty good reviews so i gave it a chance and it was the best decision ever. I made an appointment with DJ because I had seen his name in previous positive experiences and this man is godly with a pair of clippers! Had me looking like a new man after he was done, plus his personality and the conversation made the appointment go by SO quickly and I felt more “at home” than my hometown barber! Seriously debating making the 2 hour trip from my home to get my cuts from him from now on! Book your appointment with him NOW! You wont regret it.

My husband’s barbers closed shop and he went to Parkside based on referrals and our having passed by several times. He walked in, chatted with several friends he saw from his line of work and high school. For mor than 45 minutes, no one offered to provide service. The receptionist kept indicating we have a walk in, he even asked a barber could he be serviced and was told, “I’m booked all day “. My husband is bald and just needed sides and neck cleaned up.We are completely surprised that this was actually occurring!!! Very dissatisfied and disappointed.

I was referred by a family member and took my 7 yr old to have his hair cut, today. He is usually very nervous and sensitive to the feeling of the clippers. He told me on a scale from 1 to 10, he rates his experience a 1,000,000. We are satisfied and will be back. One of the worst experiences my husband has ever had. He has used this place over ten times trying to give them a chance after excellent reviews from co-workers but they have DESTROYED his ethnic hair EVERY TIME. All he ever wants is a 2 on the sides and 3 on top. He came home today with a completely shaved head, 1 all around. The unfortunate part is, this is like the 8th time they have completely destroyed his hair. He went from salesman to joining the military all in one cut. I would not recommend for non-white textured hair. They clearly do not have their clients best interest at heart after completely stripping my husbands head.

The owner and barbers have gone out of their way to make the client feel safe and clean within the recommended guidelines. Even with the new restrictions in place, I believe that the Parkside experience is just as good as ever. Amanda is my go-to barber and never disappoints!

Finding a true barbershop these days seems like youd have better luck searching for the lost city of Atlantis. That being said, Parkside is truly a great place to get your hair cut, beard trimmed, or shoes shined. The barbers really know how to cut mens hair, and the straight razor clean ups are great. Id visit the website and schedule an appointment as they can get pretty busy during the course of the day.

As we begin to come out as a society from a pandemic, Parkside’s service and expertise is still second to none. They were completely prepared and well organized. All the barbers were wearing the proper PPE and sanitizing after each customer. The process to check-in/out was smooth and the calming peace of mind was just what their devoted customers needed after 2 months of quarantine. As always, Amanda was fantastic and helped tame back the quarantine hair! Forever faithful to Parkside, especially after the dedication they showed for their customers safety and well-being.

This place is the real deal. Went in today for the first time and all the barbers were super cool. They’ve got a good system going to keep everybody safe during the pandemic as well. I’ll be coming here from now on

Ive had my hair cut by many of the barbers but spent most my time with Karim and Angelo. Both Karim and Angelo are outstanding in their specialized knowledge and skill. Very disappointed. Be very careful about who you pick to cut you hair. Got my hair ruined by giving me too short of a cut on top. I couldn’t look into the mirror to correct this because during the whole process, the direction the barber chair is facing is away from the mirror.

Ive only been here once ( I live 30 minutes away, and got a haircut whilst my car was being serviced at the dealership next door), but I got a tremendous haircut. I was a walk-in and even though it was busy they worked me in after about a 15 minute wait. The barber took more care and pride in his work than youd see from most anyone at a chain barbershop. Prices were reasonable for what you get. This place gets a thumbs up from me. If I lived in the west-end this is where I would get my hair cut regularly.

Some of the barbers were wearing ppe masks improperly. My haircut normally includes eyebrow trim and I did not receive it, only noticing after I got home. For $25 plus tip I expect better.

Every visit to Parkside for me has been a pleasure. Theyre always bantering back and forth and in good spirits. The waiting lounge and floors are always super clean as well. Appointment times are kept and youre not left waiting past your time to be seen, and the customer service there is incredible as well.

Terrible customer service and they rush you to get to the next person. Youre just a number to these people. A Overprice Great Clips. Have been a loyal customer for 2 years first 3 visits were great but customer service and quality haircut has gone down the drain while the price has increased for no additioanl value. Parkside barber has lost my trust and respect. Will no longer be returning or recommending this place. Tyson was especially rude, rushed my haircut because he didnt take the time to listen, and now I have to wait until this uneven haircut to grow out to get it fixed elsewhere.

Parkside barber is hands down the best barbershop in the Richmond area. The staff is extremely friendly and has always accommodated me. They always take me in with a smile. Always a good haircut- some standout barbers are Kareem, Zoe, Daniel, and Andrew- but all of the folks that work here do a great job.

Really enjoy going to this barber shop. I always make an appointment with Ed and he always does an outstanding job. Started going to Parkside because it is close to my work but the excellent service I receive keeps me coming back. The other feature I like about this shop, other than Eds excellent cuts, is that they finish off each haircut by scraping the back of your neck with a razor--not many salons do that anymore, but for me it is the best part about a haircut. Next time you need a cut, go to Parkside and ask for Ed, he will treat you right!

I have been to a lot of barbershops in Richmond and between all of them Parkside really stands out. It’s different from any place you’ve ever been to, from the moment you go inside realize what I’m on about. They make getting a haircut special, getting a haircut at this place is like an occasion. I’ve tried most of the barbers at this place but there is only one guy that I particularly like and his name is Karim. He is incredibly nice and he works on your hair patiently makes sure you are getting the best haircut you possibly can. it’s his precision that made him my go to barber. If you go to this place, always ask for Karim and believe you will not be disappointed.

My mom, wife and daughter would always make low-key comments (shade all day). But being a guy I was pretty stubborn and set on where I’d always gone.Found this place by word of mouth. Met with the great Larry and Daniel. Good classic cuts! My wife told me to stick with place.Now I always get my hair cut here by, Kareem. Love his cuts! I always get what I ask for. Waited for 10 min past appt time for Amanda while we watched her talk on her phone. When she did come out to get my son, she didnt ask for a name, and brought in the guy who had the appt after us. No apologies for making us wait. Amanda was exceedingly unprofessional and the hair cut was mediocre. Parksides COVID-19 procedures were well controlled and we have had much better experiences with other barbers at Parkside.

Came in here because it has great reviews. Walked in at 130 pm. They told me they could see me at 2pm.Came back ten minutes prior just to wait until 245 pm and nothing.Overheard barbers complaining about their appointments being late all while they would just take another customer (maybe they also had an appointment)However that was just my experience and it was definitely a literal waste of time.

I just moved here and thought this would be a great place by reviews, to get my hair cut. No appointment just walked in and took the first seat. Great got me right in now wait nice atmosphere, they offer a beer to people who wait. Sat down and asked for clipper on the side and scissor cut on top with a bread trim. What I got was an uneven buzz on the sides and what they did was 3 or 4 cuts on top to get the height then buzzed it. I have thick hair and looks better when you cut it with scissors thats why I asked for it, now it looks like I have fuzzy hair 😔 Im not happy and will not be coming back. Why 3 stars and not 1. My bread looks good because it needed and the shop was clean and welcoming. And I feel the prices are a little high Especially when you dont what you asked for. 6/19

I was from out of town and was able to get a haircut without an appointment this past Friday morning. I had spotted them while at Starbucks next door, and had decided to give them a try. They were happy to fit me into their schedule without an appointment. I was given a haircut by Robert the owner of the shop, and he did a great job. I enjoyed getting a haircut at this shop and wish I could go back to them, but it would be a 3 hour plane ride. I will hit them up again the next time Im in Richmond.

I was blessed to find this establishment by simply surfing the web and thank the Good Lord for small miracles! Everyone is so pleasant and the banter is comical and most of all respectful. If you are new to the area and want someone skilled and uber pleasant to cut your childs hair, I highly highly recommend Daniel (not that others arent just as fabulous!). You cant honestly do any better than Parkside!

Been going here for years with my dad and man I’m not the type to post something but this place let me down today. For 2 hours I waited for my walk-in spot to come up. Even went to the desk a few times just letting them know I was still there or stepping outside for some air. Finally, I overheard the front desk lady say “we have no more first available.” They had already crossed my name off the list and I was told someone called me. Come on. I had been there for 2 hours, had given you my name multiple times, and I finally realized it myself and had to show the mistake. I love this place and want it to succeed but the ladies at the front desk are more worried about the next Instagram post than their customers right in front of them.

Took my son today for an 11am appt with Golden. The receptionist told me he would be a few minutes. He had a client in the chair. 11:24am same client in the chair. No one ever gave me an update nor apologized for the wait. I told the receptionist that we had an 11am appt and we were leaving. She said she understood and that was it. What is the point of taking appts if you’re not going to respect the client’s time?? We’ve been there twice on a walk-in basis. First time with Golden and got a decent cut. Second time with Andrew and the cut was subpar. I was taking him back sooner than the usual interval because his hair looks so bad. Never returning.

Its funny to think that Ive known Robert - the owner - for almost 25 years and hes been cutting my hair the whole time. The shop is amazing. The array of services there is astounding and the atmosphere of friendly banter between the patrons and the barbers is always entertaining.Frankly, Im surprised at the fellow who claims to have had a negative experience. Id encourage him to give it another try. Heck, at Parkside, he can have a beer while he waits. And who doesnt think that beer makes waiting for a haircut worth it?

Got a good haircut and probably looking to get the straight razor shave next time I go in. The fellas were very entertaining and I enjoyed the cracks they were giving one another. If you are just looking for a normal haircut place and get a buzz every couple of weeks, this probably isnt your place. (at $18, may be a bit much for that scenario) I cut my hair every month or two though, so it was well worth my money. I will be going back in the future.

Ive gotten three cuts here. Amanda did a fantastic job! She was awesome! Tyson did a mediocre job and charge extra for something, still yet to figure out what for. Margie stay away from. I told her a medium bald fade and she did like a very high almost high and tight. She also didnt take it all the way to bald. And the fade was kind of shotie.

Been coming to Parkside for three years now. Previously used Pine Street (good, but a pain to reach), the Byrd Hotel (super uneven quality), and whatever sports or super cuts happened to be near by. Stopped searching for a good barber once I found Parkside.My usual go-to at Parkside is Tyson. He gives a great cut and is easy to talk with. They usually have sports on, but, thankfully, with the sound muted. Once my son aged out of crewcuts and pigtails I started taking him here as well.

Hands down the best place to get a cut in the Henrico area. Ask for Tony! She really is the best there. Im telling you, do it! Ive always been 125% happy with my cuts. My haircut is so horrific Im just sick. I would be more honest if I could rate Parkside Barber even lower, but I cant. It is going to be six months before my normal barber can clear this crap job up. For some strange reason there is a shortage of true babers in this region... Found this place on Google Maps and went in for a cut on a Wednesday afternoon. The shop is inviting and the two barbers manning the chairs were polite and professional. I received a great haircut, that was way over-priced. $18 before tip for a #2 buzz? I was in the chair less than 5 minuets. The service is great, but for the quick cut I get every two weeks, it alone does not support the hefty price-tag. I will be taking my business elsewhere.
