Great store with helpful staff, I wish hours were longer since they close at 5pm. Great pricing on all sale items--- so if you can wait, you will be rewarded. Many items need to be shipped in (not in stock). Also items available online are not necessarily in store. Call and ask (Arron is helpful). Fair winds and following seas yall!!!!

Considering it is in Richmond, which I do not believe is a boating mecca, it has a good selection and friendly/courteous employees. Almost always have what I need.

Helpful staff!

We drove an hour to look at thru hull fittings that they had hardly none of. We asked if they could order any the kid working behind the counter took over 40mins trying to look stuff up. Then he asks for our name and number and said he would call us. With pricing and when it would delivered THAT NEVER HAPPENED. On top of that there were signs saying they take precautions for the virus. There was over 10 people in the store. Also being such a trying time and to go in the public In the first place is enough said but not being helpful is even worst.P.S.This place is for the yuppies and sail boats I will never shop here again. Staff is not good in following up with you. I assume if you dont act and look rich they do not care.

Nice store, with good staff. They didnt have the prop hub that I needed and its a long drive for me from New Kent.

Very overpriced but the do offer price match. Dont know if I ended up with the rarity employee but he didnt know anything about boats. Luckily I knew exactly what I needed.

They sell marine parts in seem to know a good deal about them.

I went in to pick up some pad eyes for the bed of my truck. Not only was the selection of stainless steel hardware the best in the area, the service was exceptional, and the prices were very fair. Ive used Hillman brand stainless steel hardware from Lowes, and its just not the same quality as what they offer at West Marine. Very, Very impressed.

I found the staff to be less than knowledgeable and not altogether helpful. I went in looking for rope splicing fid and he sent me to the electrical section. The second fellow sent me to the stainless hardware. Not a pleasant visit. Guess Ill buy one online but not from West Marine.

Very helpful staff

I rarely write reviews online, but after visiting West Marine I felt compelled to. Im a first time boat owner and I have very limited knowledge regaurding boats. I needed a new propeller for my outboard and went over there to get help figuring out what type I needed. You always hear how owning a boat is painfully expensive and I was expecting everything at West Marine to be a marked up rip off. I honestly was just planning on going there to get some information/advice and then turning around and ordering my propeller and other parts online to save money (Im poor). I walked in there feeling a bit intimidated and overwhelmed due to my lack of boat knowledge. The staff turned out to be extremely friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. They were able to explain all the questions and concerns I had about my boat in plain English. It also turned out they had the propeller I needed there for around the same price as the ones I saw online on ebay ($99). They also helped me out with picking out the correct kit and oil I needed to change the gear oil in my lower unit as well as a new fuel filter (things I needed to do anyways). The prices there are definitely fair. I walked out of there pleasantly surprised and happy with everything I needed to get my boat back out on the water.

Ordered online to ship to store, a large quantity of product and got a call from this store not even 20 minutes after the online order was placed. They had all of the order in stock and the store worker helped me load all of it.

Staff doesnt know a thing about boats! Dont expect to get help if you have serial numbers for your engine because they need part numbers for what you want! Horrible

We made this from the oars from here. Coat Rack. Hats on very top, coats on wheel handles, ball caps and scarves on anchor, gloves, knit caps on net, boots on shelf, shoes under shelf.

Called looking for trailor hubs but they didnt have the size I needed.
