Its a decent Indian grocery, however there are no pricing labels. I have seen owners not maintaining social distancing, and not being courteous to make room when customers swing by in the isles when they are doing inventory. Stop acting like those mindless jerks and make way when people come by, who is making business to you!

This is the best Indian store in Richmond and they carry a wide variety of products. Sometimes even the rarest Indian food and spices. I’m so happy with the selection they have. The vegetables are fresh and the halal meat is awesome. Staff is very friendly and they are always ready to help. Highly recommend shopping here.

Our go-to place for Indian groceries!! Have shopped around the west end stores prior but havent found a more friendly and quality place to buy our favorite items especially the Fresh Meat and Snacks.I believe is the ONLY store that served during the Covid-19 crisis when all other shops were shut. Kudos to the management and the great team they have that put in so much effort to get us what we want so far from home!I recommend you personally to go visit once to see for yourself the service they provide and products you find. If you dont see your favorite brand or item, just talk to the Owner and he will find a way to get you the item even if it requires a special shipment from India. Great service and Quality products. Highly recommend the store for all Indian grocery needs.

Maharaja Indian grocery is the best store. Im shopping here since 2016, you get all the Indian Groceries you looking for. Customer satisfaction is their first priority. Best place in Glen Allen for all Indian authentic Groceries, Fresh Fruits, Vegetables, Spices and all kind of Indian products like biscuits..soaps.. god idols.. utensils..are all available here.Only genuine and quality products are available here.The store owner and people working in store are very helpful, they even deliver or drop you back home if needed!!We have been visiting this store every week for more than a year, it has always surprised us with lot of festive goods during different Indian festivals but also maintains good quality products all year around.The best part they have been very helpful in providing home deliveries when we needed it the most now!!Try there Samosas!! Store is good with fresh vegetables and variety of Indian Grocery Items. The only thing I want to mention is... every time i visit the store, they keep telling me that next month they are opening the MEAT shop but nothing has happened from past 6-8 months. Today, finally I saw a banner outside the store stating Coming soon Halal Meat. Hope, They will start this Meat shop soon. Waiting for it....!!

This is not a good place to shop. One of his employee/Manager is very rude and aggressive. He dont know how to respect customers.I am giving this rating to that person and the owner.Honestly Maharaja is the best place to buy Meat in town. I only buy Meat here and some grocery shop at that time. I used to shop at Royal from almost 7 to 8 years. They are always friendly and respect their customers very well. Royal & Lakshmi products are fresh and cheap than Maharaja.

This is the best shop in Richmond, one of the special or we can say life saving things they did during covid situation. Shop was open during that time. Every time they ask for the product review or any concerns they resolve it on time. The shop is maintained very clean. During covid time they did online orders and delivered on time . This store is awesome and I am able to get all the required Indian items starting from rice, Dal, masala items, milk products and all sorts of Indian vegetables. The associates are helpful for getting items and especially they are very very kind and helpful during this Corona time. I would suggest them as the best Indian market store in Richmond. One of the best Indian grocery store in Richmond. Staffs are friendly and helpful if we are unable to find some of the items. Vegetables are very fresh and they have wide variety of millets. I must mention that they have variety of Indian sweets and snacks as well, all best quality. The meat section is nice and clean. The festival sale offers are also better here!!

Store is good with a lot of options to choose different items. Also, Srini helps us in getting us what we need during the first lockdown via mobile order. He is very kind.

I ordered groceries and other items online... the experience was very bad... they sent all the rotten vegetables ... all of them rotten... my other friends also had the same complaint...when I spoke to them on call... they replied very rudely saying if you want good items then come to the store and choose what you want... if it’s online order, we will choose and send... and we don’t take anything return (not only vegetables but also other items)... and he disconnected the call with out even listening to me... very rude behavior... I would highly discourage this store if you are looking for online order pickup.

Owners understands the needs from customers and try their best to serve them at their utmost possibility and does take orders if out of stock and call u when they arrive. Very good collection of snacks. A variety of frozen items including traditional stuff from Kerala. The meat is always fresh and reasonably priced. People working there always help you find the things you are looking for. I am finding many new products which were not available earlier.

Im a customer of Indian grocery stores in Henrico and I would like to appreciate the efforts of Maharajah during this Covid19 time. It was the only Indian store serving in Henrico when others were closed. They managed it excellently by restricting number of shoppers, introducing curb side pickup or delivery and allocating 30 minutes shopping for individual customers. Importantly they didnt indulge in price gouging during this time. In the last 2 years, theyve improved a lot in quality & quantity and now different varieties available in limited shelf space and started selling halal meat. My only suggestion is to reorganize the vegetable section as it is difficult to retrieve the items.

This place always provides good quality meat products and not frozen. Employees always go out of their way to provide with a satisfactory service at all times.

Looking for 0 rating.Dont expect fresh Meat and vegetables from Maharaja Grocery store and the staff are very very aggressive. I notified some of their products include Spices, frozen items, snacks and noodles are expired and they still kept in the racks to sell to customers. If you ask this to staff, they used to comment you on their language and they dont respond properly.Dont buy meat from Maharaja, they always sell old meat. by-mistake i brought couple of times when i shopped at costco on the way.

I like the way they maintain their typical south Indian grocery items available at the stores which I cant find anywhere else in the Richmond area.Delivery options they have are much appreciated inmidst of covid19 issues.

You will find all Indian groceries and snacks here. Not just once but thrice, I found the snacks were spoiled. I am not sure if they check the expiry dates of the snacks and replace them periodically. The only good thing is they accept returns and customer friendly. Their halal chicken is one of the best in the vicinity

Place is good with good options but its very dirty and unorganized. Feels and smells like a store back in India .Edit:I have been going to maharajah since last six months and they have improved a lot. Its much cleaner and hygienic now. And I always get what I want.

Good place for Fresh Vegetable and fresh meat

Poor service. I had bought Amol Paneer. The package looked damaged and it was re-taped. I asked them about it and they said they were all like that. I opened the package few days later and was full of fungus and I threw it right away. I should have taken a photo. When I told the clerk next time I visited, she asked me to bring the receipt. When I finally took the receipt, they refused to accept it and made me feel like a cheat. I would never go back. Without trust nothing works for me. Sorry.

Its the biggest Indian Grocery In Richmond, Glen Allen and other nearby Area. Very nice location with very big parking lot. The store is specious and wide. And better location as well. Its just opposite to COSTCO Gas Station and the Corner of Lows and Kroger also. Sams Club is in walking distance. I believe if they can start fresh Meat and Fish, The Asian People will be able to do their house hold shopping from one place. Like a one stop Service. They even carry Chinese and Madeterian Staffs and vegetables too.The lack I found yet in this store is, They dont carry any Phone Cards and Indian Movies

The worst possible store you could for groceries. They sell expired items and the owner/partner is the biggest A#@$#Hole. Usually we dont keep the receipt of Indian groceries as mostly we consume all the things. This guy upon asking that sold the expired item(moreover the purpose was to ask him to stop selling so that someone doesnt get sick) started blaming of pulling that item from trash and then returning for 2.xx$.. I mean really? Then started threatening me of calling the emergency number. After heated argument and the staffs request, I agreed to leave that guy but this place is Dirty/unorganized, vegetables not fresh, some workers are nice but beware of the fool owner. Better go to India Bazaar, Laxmi Indian Groceries and do a peaceful shopping.
