These folks are always amazing. Vary knowledgeable and net just helpful, but excited to help. A great selection of board games and tons of figurines. I want to be a DM when I grow up and this is a one stop shop for all of the info and supplies I need. They do require a mask and have a big gaming space with tables set up for play.

A lot of stock and super friendly, really knowledgeable staff. They had great suggestions and were happy to walk us through some of the nuances of a game that wed never played before and offered to help us build an army.

Ive been playing here since the store opened and have made so many great memories. I had several friends in last week who arent regular gamers, and the owner and staff helped them find perfect options for their interests and the people theyd be likely to enjoy their new games with. Simply my favorite game store in the metro Phoenix area.

Almost 1 year into Warhammer 40k and I can honestly say Games U has been there every step of my journey into the hobby. From helping me pick an original painting scheme to my necrons to helping me with rules questions, the one-on-one interactions with EACH staff member are always phenomenal. I cant wait for the tables to be opened up 100% and compete!

Great store used to go here almost every weekend. The owner and staff are all great and very knowledgeable on everything they sell. Lots of room and lots of table for playing miniatures games, some painting tables, and an awesome customer rewards program. The store is very clean and very well stocked. I wish they still carried Vallejo paints but I understand why they stopped. Check them out if youre into Warhammer, tabletop, or board games in general.

I told them I was starting a gaming collection and what kind of games I was looking for and he told me what I should look out for and how board game companies work. Came out with some great games for some good prices too. Cant wait to go back.

The owner Jeff is a splendid and hard working person who gets to know all his customers well and takes care of their needs best he can. Games U had a great environment and a great selection of products. Their staff are very knowledgeable and are willing to help and answer questions or find things you didnt know you even wanted.

Its definitely a nice place as far as game stores go. Remember that its a miniature/tabletop store not like a game stop. The staffing is attentive and polite and rather quick to greet you. More of a floor presence than behind the counter.I make it a point to buy something if I go in to support the business, a good practice that I recommend. Only suggestion would be one employee behind the counter and one on the floor but I understand that doubles daily wages so one employee is fine. Also they have a rewards program.

The staff was so friendly. I went there for warhammer paint & they were out of a few basic colors but it wasn’t their fault. The company is having issues sending them right now because of Covid. I could tell the guy who worked there really loved all this & it shows. I love it when people are passionate about their work.

Sterling was INCREDIBLY helpful. He took almost 20 minutes walking me through the steps of painting a miniature and his experiences in Warhammer. Will definitely be coming back here!

Could not recommend this place highly enough. Staff has always been super friendly, one in particular is always willing to put up with my questions and help me figure out how to paint my minis. Just be careful, hes very good at getting you to buy just one more shade of paint, because wouldnt that just look the best on that mini? And hes never wrong.

The definition of the FRIENDLY local game store. Jeff, the owner, sat with us and enthusiastically taught us a game. It’s a game we immediately bought. The people behind the counter were super friendly and going out of their way to help customers. The place is clean, bright, fresh and an warm environment. A good mix of miniatures and board games. I like this store because it does not feel like a magic/comic store and more like a true tabletop store. Highly recommend!

Visited 3 weeks ago looking for d&d miniatures. Grung and tabaxi. Very common can be found at authoria and amazing discovery easily. 3 people at counter no one greeted my family or said hi. After 10 min of looking and not finding what I wanted, I walked up and asked the rep at the counter. He looked annoyed and said that Wiz kids doesnt make them anymore. Flat out lie, so I asked about paint and shades, he said racks of paint are in corner you cant miss it. Confused i said what brand or type of shader would you recommend and the rep responded its all about the same then turned to someone at counter and asked them if they wanted to check out.I left. Went to amazing discovery. They had high energy greetings and walked me to their minis. Found the grung and tabaxi, explained they arent out of print. Showed me wiz kids site on their computer systems and showed its still being ordered regularly. Invited me to their mailing list, and showed me 3 new types of minis that came out and some cool dice.You guys need to do better. In this pandemic how the hell you losing business to anyone who could buy online is besides me. Im never coming back. Amazing discovery is my new place. Even bought my daughter their t shirt which was pink and soft and she loved it.

This is my favorite gaming store in the valley. Theyve got a wonderful gaming area and terrain, good selection of snacks, and a free-to-use hobby area for painting and building models complete with cutting mats, water mugs, and lamps. There is a colorful cast of regulars at the shop and its an accepting and inclusive place to spend your weekends.I tried out several other stores for gaming and shopping, but GamesU has become more than that- its my home away from home. The staff have all become good friends of mine. They go above and beyond to make sure you leave happy. The selection of products are incredible as well- they have full (and I mean FULL) GW lines on the shelves as well as smaller miniatures games like Infinity, Marvel, and every WizKids mini you can huck $5 at.I look forward to coming back to game here after COVID, and will continue to make all my purchases here. Theyre good people.

The shop was clean and well laid out. There were tables being played on by D&D players, Warhammer players, and magic players. This tells me that the atmosphere in this shop is friendly as well as inviting. Additionally the shop has a few drinks and snacks inside that are rather convenient. Will return and possibly host a weekly 5e D&D game here.

This place is great! It has a wide selection of just about any miniature table top game, the staff is courteous and helpful, and there is a lot of room to play. 10/10 will definitely return.

Games U probably feels like the new kid on the block for Phoenix gaming, but over the last three years its built a rock-solid reputation. Its a store with a great community and deep wargaming selection. The tables here are great with lots of terrain, room to play and light. The owner are staff are cheerful and welcoming and just all around good people. This is the kind of place you find yourself looking for reasons to support. I play here a lot because its close to my work, but if you are into sci-fi/fantasy wargaming, its well worth the drive.

Friendly local game store

After visiting four game stores in the area while on vacation, this was the best one for Tabletop gamers. Great selection of games, even a few we hadnt seen before.They also have space for playing games and painting minis. Didnt get a chance to peruse their library or games available for play, but maybe next time.

Love this place. There are few places you can go where the staff and managers are helpful, talkative, and above all welcoming. They will help you pick from the wide array of games, navigating from the first game outside of the standard to as obscure as it gets.Not only will they help you choose, but often will help you learn. Once the basics are mastered youll almost always find a group there to play with. Really cant say enough good things about Games U, the staff, and the customers playing there.

I went in with my fiancee to look for a d&d dice set and browse. We are new to table top gaming and IDK if the staff just ate or was on a lunch break but we walked around the store and we got a bunch of awkward looks and stares and just didnt feel welcomed. We found the dice sets in the display case by the register and the one staff member that was there just sat there and stared at us we felt uncomfortable and embarrassed and just left. I ended up finding a better experience out west later thats worth a trip. When people come in to a store its important to acknowledge customers and say something like hey guys whatcha looking for?new here? especially if you want them to come back.

Had fun playing on the tables, it got packed after lunch. Lots of fun stuff there for sale.

Stopped in to play infinity while traveling and was amazed at the fantastic atmosphere! They also have a really wide selection of games and hobby supplies in stock. Highly recommend stopping in and meeting everyone.

Great location with a solid selection. I just wish they had the game I was looking for. Found something else to keep me busy though. They had a gaming tournament taking place which added to the atmosphere.

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff... I always end up walking out with at least one game. You can sign up for a rewards program and gather points towards future purchases (I believe that is how it works). Plus the host a game night from 6:30-9pm every other Wednesday. Its great to meet up with friends, meet new local game enthusiasts, and run RPGs or play board games.

Store was very busy which is nice, employee took time to explain to me and my son the pros and cons of a few Warhammer products. He answered all my questions and helped us get started in tabletop gaming. He offered to help teach us once were ready to play a game. I have been waiting for a store like this in the east valley. Also they had a great selection of GamesWorkshop products when other stores are stopping carrying GW. Im excited to have a store I can support.

Clean friendly game store. Amazing selection, though more heavily slanted to minis and euro games. Would like to see some more casual games on the shelf, exploding kittens, unstable unicorns, etc but then you are competing with Walmart / target.

The simple fact that the business owners business plan is education of complex board games is 5 stars enough, however this is one of the few stores that Ive experienced that not only encourage painting of models for games such as warhammer, this establishment also provides the space and equipment to do so.The owner and I were talking about the decline of video games and how most of the newer ones are pretty much all the same. The owner is a former elementary school instructor and he started encouraging his students to play board games instead of video games and sure enough the board game playing students were better readers, better problem solvers and had better memories. Games U is the future of board game establishments.

I dig this new friendly local game store - the selection is good (and getting better all the time), and the staff is knowledgeable and nice. The atmosphere is always welcoming, and as a girl, its a nice change to be treated, by default, as someone who belongs in this space. LOVE THIS STORE.

My go to place for Warhammer 40k games in the East Mesa area. Necromunda, Horus Heresy and other game formats are available and have vibrant communities. Definitely a must visit.

Super friendly, they’ve shared stories about their dnd games. Showed us many books figures and game boards, showing us how much they enjoyed the games themselves. I really enjoy talking with people who enjoy their job because they shine brightly with excitement.

Unfortunately, there was an event going on and there was no hygiene rules enforced, the place smelled pretty bad...

Always fun and friendly. Plus they have a dog named Luna there sometimes. They accept groups coming in and playing board games, rp games, and any other games that are not video games. A group of my friends come here every other week for a game day. Plus so many games you wont believe it.

A store to watch! This seems like a very small, upstarting game store, so their selection isnt massive, especially in the RPG section. That said, on both occasions I was in, the staff greeted me as soon as my foot hit the door, theyve offered to order products if its not on stack, and the last time I was in there, the place was packed by the gaming and painting tables. Definitely going to be visiting them more often
