My daughter is a music student at UofM. The gentleman chuck was very kind and helpful with myself and my daughter over text and the phone as I live in another state. He also carried my daughters digital piano to her car and loaded it for her. Thanks again!!!
I have rarely had such excellent service as I did from Chuck and Jason at Lane Music. I searched, did my homework, and decided to purchase a Yamaha grand piano with a QRS player system from Lane Music.Chuck was able to pair me up with exactly what I was looking for. The techs at Lane installed the latest QRS player system and delivered the piano this week. I noticed that it needed a few minor adjustments and Chuck immediately sent Jason, his piano technician, to take care of everything. Jason showed up on time and did an excellent job. He was polite, efficient and effective. Chuck and Jason make sure that everything is perfect, and they go the extra mile to get it done.I was considering purchasing an instrument from an individual or an estate sale. In the end, making such a big investment, without any guarantees or support, was a risk I wasn’t willing to take. I felt that I got a good deal and my wife and I are happy that we purchased our piano with the backing of a store like Lane music. They are professionals that stand by their instruments and take great care of their customers. Highly recommended!Joseph Hardison
They provide EXCELLENT customer service and make sure to address your specific needs. I value good customer service!
Worst experience ive ever had at a music store... i recieved a brand new prs for bday... wasnt feeling it and i happen to be close to lane so i stopped by for some strings.. noticed a mex tele and inquired about it mentioned i had the zach meyers... he plays it like he wanted to trade that it be pretty much straight up trade.... round trip i drive a hour and a half. once.i get there guitar.still in case/cardboard box he lowball me trys to screw me out of my brand new guitar for $250 literally 25% of what the things worth... from now on il drive the 1 1/2 to guitar center for strings
Chuck, conner and EVERYONE at Lane Music has been helping me for 2 decades!
Ive been a musician all my life, and working with Lane Music has been a wonderful experience! I just made a major investment in a Steinway piano, and their attention to detail and level of customer service is outstanding! I had shopped around at other music stores throughout Tennessee, and Lane Music is the very best!! If they dont have what youre looking for, they are more than willing to try and find something at their other store locations.
I recently had a great experience with Lane Music and I could not have asked for better service or been treated nicer. Scott Lane and his staff truly care about customer satisfaction and it has always been a pleasure dealing with them. I cant imagine going anywhere else and highly recommend Lane Music to anyone...they are outstanding!
Great music shop! Good selection of sheet music, and great service. Their technician refurbed a 45 year old alto sax and a 100 year old tenor sax for me for less than half of what others wanted, and he did a great job. Good folks, here.
Its an amazing music store with an even more amazing staff. They know musical instruments. I NEVER ever do my business with any other company. A great group of people that actually care after you have purchased. Once a customer you will always stay a Lane customer !!!
What a previous poster said about repairs is true. They don’t communicate. When you reach out and request information and a call back, they won’t call you back. Perhaps they are understaffed, however,I suspect that if they know you and you come in there all the time you probably have a different experience.
Had a great experience with Mr. Lane and associates. They were welcoming and helpful, thank you so much. He matched the internet price for a fender mini. Will return for future purchases. Beautiful showroom also.
Lane Music was where I bought my first guitar and built the foundation of music in my life. Through the years I have moved around and frequented many other guitars shops. During that time Lane’s has moved locations and grown but they still retain the familiar, neighborhood music store atmosphere and the owners are very committed to their customers.
Lanes has great customer service these days. As well as having a complete selection of stuff for my guitar needs, I look for help which is not patronizing. Ive often had set up work or more technical work given to me at no cost. But I dont mind paying for honesty and conscientious work on my guitars. And so far so good with all my esoteric demands!
Brought a guitar for repair and after almost 2 months they never fixed my guitar.I was told it was going to be only 2 weeks to fix. After 8 weeks i decided to stop by and found out that it wasnt even touched. Manager gave me some lame excuse that their repair guy quit. Never received any phone call to tell me that this had happened and when i arrived to pick up guitar they didnt care about making it right and told me nonchalantly to take my money and go somewhere else. Maybe because Im Mexican its why they felt i wasnt important enough or my money and time spent there was not enough for them to care.
I have had very positive experience with the staff at Lane Music. I have 3 children all have taken piano lessons and once they were 11 could pick any instrument they would like to play. We have children that now play and have purchased from Lanes a violin, guitar, trumpet and banjo. It has been a pleasure watching them grow musically and the staff has been nothing but wonderful.
I don’t normally post reviews but after a couple of weeks I’m still so upset by the service we received at Lane Music and Pook specifically. Let me first start off my saying that we had a great buying experience with Lane. Everyone was very courteous and knowledgeable. However, roughly 2 years after our purchase my husband’s company relocated us from Memphis to Birmingham. We spoke to Pook who said due to the short distance it wouldn’t be a problem to ship the piano and we just needed to call when we were ready. The delivery charge would be $400.This is where the problems started. On May 2nd, we called to let her know that we had finally closed on the house and we were ready for shipment. We had spoken to her a couple of times before just to let her know we were getting close. She then informed us, that since it was a single shipment the cost would be $800 not the $400 she had originally said. The lower price was only if multiple pianos were being delivered or we “piggybacked” on another shipment. But, she informed us if we waited until the end of the month she would get us on a shipment going to Atlanta. Although not ideal, we said sure, not willing to pay double the price for our old piano. We called at the end of May to check on the status to be informed Pook was “out” and the only one who dealt with shipments. Another week passed and no response. In early June we called and finally got through to Pook who informed us the order to Atlanta had been delayed and would be late June. So, again we waited… We called a couple of times to check on the status and she said she would let us know if anything changed. Finally, it was early July with no piano. We called and spoke to Pook who let us know while she was away (again) our piano had not made the Atlanta shipment. To get the Piano it would be $800. Of course, we were furious that she would even suggest that for a mistake that she and Lane Music had made. We felt we had been very understanding and patient but enough was enough. After a lot of back and forth she finally agreed to ship for $400.Due to issues with other deliveries (yes, after all that, they ended up dropping other pianos off) they delivered to our house at 10pm at night… While our family was sleeping. I can tell you, that I don’t know anyone in their right mind feels comfortable having strange men in their house so late at night. When we called Pook to discuss how unorthodox and uncomfortable that made me, she said that it was done and there would be no discount. I called to try and speak to the store manager but just got Pook. I later found out it’s someone named Scott. We left several messages with him with no response.Long story, but think twice before you use lane music. Pook is a literal nightmare and the customer service is atrocious. She never, not once, reach out to us. So Beware before you shop here is all I can say!
Horrible experience. They sold me a piano with a serious defect with the keys. Naturally, I called to see what could be done. Nathan told me hed have his service tech call me to schedule a time to come and make the repair. I never heard from anyone. So I called back again and got a lady who was extremely rude and abrupt with me. I asked to speak with Natahan again who denied that he told me hed have someone fix it. He said it wasnt a warranty issue (no paper work was given to me). He told me that a Chuck would call me. Never heard from anyone. Called back a 3rd time and was told by the rude lady that they didnt even have my phone number, but that they had asked the tech to call them to discuss, not me, thus admitting their lie. These people are incredibly disorganized and unprofessional. I am very dissatisfied.
Nice, Friendly, and ProfessionalI got everything I needed. I asked questions and they answered them. I will go back. Thanks.
Im a local band director and have had outstanding service for my students from Lane. Many of my students rent or purchase instruments from Lane. They are always very responsive to the needs of the students and Ive found that the staff members are knowledgeable about the instruments and supplies the students need. Id recommend Lane to anyone.
Mr. Lane from germantown middle is the best! also his friend the other Mr. Lane who owns this store is pretty good too
I love it!It has amazing things in there soooooo awesome!
Awesome.
Met some really super people who work there.
This store told us to pick up the repaired instrument, but when we got there, the instrument was not even in the store. We spent thousands of dollars there, but if anything wrong, just about 2-3 months after purchase, the warranty is gone. And we got very rude response for our questions. Most unacceptable, they also gossiped about me to my spouse.Horrible experience at this store.
Good selection and service
