Didnt go into nor do I intend to go into Dirt Cheap. I go to the Dollar Tree in that Shopping Center. They currently do not always have what I want but I always get good service.

My mom used to take me to Hudson’s Salvage (“Mississippi’s Saving Store!”) many, many, MANY years ago. The funny thing is, as a kid, I would have rather be seen in a Hudsons than I would the thrift store. Oh, how funny we are as kids! I think it dealt more with a thrift store having previously owned items when in my head, Hudson’s had new (albeit salvaged) items and I guess that was “cooler” for me as a young one knowing I’m not buying someone else’s old wares. Now that I’m much older and wiser, I don’t care where it comes from as long as I save a buck!Regardless, Hudson’s was eventually bought out and the names of the stores changed to Treasure Hunt and Dirt Cheap. The one thing that didn’t change is the store layout and stocking (or lack thereof) as these store have ALWAYS been unorganized and cluttered, so expect that going in! Another thing I’ve noticed of the newer owners, which was always done (but not to this degree) is the rampant up-pricing of items OVER their suggested retail pricing, with the addition of a discount, sells the item for over retail, so be careful of that! Also, make sure to check the price tag’s stock number (usually a 6 digit number) and cross-reference that number with the correct discount placard to make sure of the discount you’re getting. Keeping that in mind (and searching online for the cheapest available retail price to make sure you’re getting the best deal) should help you in finding great bargains!As far as this store, I can’t think of one time I’ve ever been to this location and it’s even been remotely organized. My motto is always, “ya gotta sift for the best deals!” and that always reins true with the Gautier store. Lately, I’ve found the best deals on clothing. Sometimes you can catch weekend sales where all clothing is $5 and that’s when you load up on $50 and $60 name brand garments for $5 each! Otherwise it’s a decent percentage off that, while still a good deal, isn’t bested by the $5 each sale.As long as you know going in that’s it’s going to be messy and dirty, but you’re willing to hunt for the best deals, then you should have no problem. Just keep in mind that there is a no return policy (they offer test bench’s for testing electronics) and that they have been known to mark-up before marking down, so be selective of those “deals” then you should be good to go.I give this store 3 stars for the perpetual unkempt floor stock… they really need someone to go through it every once in awhile and trash the trash, as there are a lot of empty boxes (with price tags) and miscellaneous leftover garbage stock filling the shelves.

It is a second hand store. You might find something you didnt expect to. One mans trash is another mans treasure.

I love a good bargain hunt. But the fact that you cant try on the clothes you find NOR can you return them...well its a little hard to say YAY! 🙄🙂Some of the things offered on the shelf were overpriced to begin with...then marked down...so you really arent getting a deal.Did find some items that made the trip worthwhile..but not much.Plan to be there awhile & make sure you watch the prices...know exactly what your size is if you are planning on buying clothes.

Dirt Cheap?! An area rug for $300? Seriously? This is basically a thrift store, you are never going to sell those rugs!

Though very large with lots of parking this is so far the worst Dirt Cheap we have found. I am sharing a photo of formal dresses marked in the thousands of dollars so they can reduce them by 80% and still over charge for these mostly damaged or poorly taken care or items. Not the stop to find an actual good deal. Go to a different location, and dont let this one ruin the chain for you.

As far as the store that was good the problem was checking out. 1 checker and 15 in line. 2 girls had already gone outside twice in the hour we were here smoking the manager above in his office seeing the line and only 1 checking. The girl called for help 5 min later a girl come up walking like I dont want to do this and still the other girls are still not there. I think there needs to be a house cleaning

I was able to find a few things but the all sales final and not being able to try clothes on is unfortunate. I bought a $10 pair of jeans and a $6 pair of jeans. Both new with tags on. One for me and one for my son. Neither pair fit. Very close but too small. Thats just $16 gone. Its the risk I took. The store used to be neater. Now it looks like the old dirt cheap and the prices have went up. If you want to find clothes for $1-$5, its more than likely you wont find anything new. Based on the fact that there are other places that have sales and I can return the clothes if they dont fit. I will not be shopping there anymore. For the ones who want to save a dollar or two check it out. You can search around and stumble across a gem or two.

Never know what you will find

Considering that it is called Dirt cheap it is very unclean. The staff that I encountered were less than happy about assistance. The pricing is VERY VERY confusing as well is the entire layout. You just have to keep in mind that you are paying a lot less and you are the customer. So dont be shy ASK how much is this before its too late.

Im giving it 4 stars only because I like looking around and seeing if I can actually find something dirt cheap, but rarely do. Sometimes you do and sometimes you dont. I probably would have more luck finding great deals if I went more often though.

I love Dirt Cheap. But this visit. The lady waiting on us was very rude and disrespectful. In the middle of ringing up my friend the girl got called by another salesgirl and just walked out from the register. And after 2 to 3 minutes. We left. Left the merchandise on the counter. And walked out. There is 67.56 they would have to do without.

Good service, but needs cleaned up

This place is a completely disorganized mess. There is nothing strange about walking up to any shelf and finding a box with 3 light bulbs in it, a single diaper, a drill and a bin full of odd length shoelaces. But thats what Dirt Cheap was meant to be and the awesome deals made it worth digging. However, theyve become greedy recently and the deals arent what they used to be. Where before it was normal to find something slightly damaged or missing a part but since you got it for 60 or 70 percent off retail, it was ok. Now, more often than not, the vast majority of the merchandise falls into under the least discount, 40% off and the retail price marked to take the discount from is often grossly exaggerated. Its easy enough to look up retail prices on most items and many times lately Im finding 40% their retail sticker comes out very close to actual retail, but for a damaged or missing parts, no returns, no questions sale. Still some good deals, but be careful now.

Its a great store. I love buying high end brands at a huge discount. Ive only been twice and the stock was very different. Its one of those places you need to visit weekly to uncover the hidden gems.

Fun to look around but the place is always extremely messy, nothing here is actually “dirt cheap” in fact it’s usually more expensive than if you go find the same thing at a dollar store.

Disorganized, damaged merchandise. Difficult to locate what you need with rare help from distant employees.

Their inventory consists of returned, damaged, manufacturer defect & department store over stock. So before buying appliances be sure to test them & check for all the pieces. But dont be fooled it is possible to find just about anything u want or need at Dirt Cheap prices!

This place is a big mess. The cashier that helped me didnt even know how to explain the prices. She charged me for 3 shirts at 6 dollars and I only had 2. Made a lot of mistakes and it took the manager a long time to come to the register and fix the problem. They need more people to at least make this store look more like a store.

The store is not the neatest or cleanest and most of the stuff is overpriced. Customer service is pretty bad as well.

I like this place because you can find good deals. Be very careful what you get as NO RETURNS. Check it out ( plug it in to make sure it works) before you buy. As always the have Good deals and they have bad deals.I look up the item on the internet to what kind of a deal I am getting.

I love digging around and finding bargains! If I do not have a really good deal and line is long, like it usually is, I will discard my buggy and leave. Its unfortunate the checkout line isnt more efficient. I know most customers question price and discount amounts at register, but perhaps a better marking system would prevent confusion? Items are rarely in the correct area, I look at the code and find the matching discount myself but maybe a master list near registers or just available to shoppers would allow them to figure out item isnt 80% off just cause it was on that shelf?

This store is so unorganized and trashy, its almost impossible to shop here. Half of the time, nothing is where it should be, some of the items are broken or damaged, and the staffs are extremely slow. I give up on shopping here.

I really wanted to like this store, but I didnt. Its not well organized, and felt overwhelming to me. The shelving they use is old, dirty and rusted which left me feeling dirty and gross.

Get ready to spend so time. There is a lot of rummaging to find that item you didnt know you needed. Some prices are ridiculously high, but there are bargains to be found. Just remember the No Returns policy before you make that purchase.

Merchandise is extremely overpriced. Of course, there are huge discounts taken off of the marked price at the register but they still do not even being the price back down to buying new at retail in some cases. For example, yesterday I purchased a 24 shoe over the door organizer at retail for $9.98. I saw the same exact item today at DC priced at $24.99 with 40% of the marked price taken off at the register. This is laughable. For all not Math Majors, that puts it at $14.99... 50% more than retail new.

Everything is marked up double so when they give you a 70% discount you feel like your getting a deal. Most everything is broken or Missing pieces, dont waste your time. Every blue moon you might get lucky but most everything can be bought at Walmart for about the same price.

This is a salvage store so you cant expect perfection, but today it was pretty bad. The Halloween costumes were hung on racks 2 years ago and were easy to look through and find all pieces of a costume. The last 2 years they were put in cardboard bins where seeing what is available and finding parts is impossible. Aside from that, the aisles are so narrow Im fairly certain it breaks handicap laws. The checkout line was so long it was wrapped around two corners so I gave up and put our stuff back. To top it off the stuff wasnt priced that great. There was a game that still had a Walmart clearance sticker on it for $7.48 and theyd price it at $19.99.

Very disappointed this time. No separated sections for clothing, home goods were trashed areas. Dont get me wrong, I realize its a hunt and peck store, but today was way disorganized. Then to wait over 25 mins to check out.

Clean and organized

If you looking for cheap prices you can find most items cheap. There are things that has some damages and such. It feels more like a scavenger hunt. They just through stuff in the shelf literally like you seen a lot of stuff like that no organization. Staff and service is minimal. Other then that good luck finding something you like.

Always good to walk around. Climate control needs a little tweak. The humidity was a bit high. Otherwise always find a good deal!

This place can become overwhelming if you like order and not chaos. There are good deals here, but look at every aspect of what you are buying first. Plug it in first.
