Chris and his staff are very honest people! They truly want to do what will be best for your car, not what is most expensive. My husband and I have been here several times for our vehicles, Chris and his staff are ALWAYS friendly and helpful. My husband actually dropped his wallet in the parking lot and one of the employees found it and turned it in to Chris. Chris made every attempt to contact us to make sure we knew that he had his wallet secure in his safe whenever we were able to make it by. On his day off, he saw my husband walking by and ran out to give him his wallet. I have never had a bad experience here and I will continue to go here! They are truly the best.

We were on the road traveling from VA to a gig I had booked in Garner. Somewhere north of Durham we knew the alternator was bad. It was a Saturday and the shop closed at 2:00pm. The mechanic I spoke to on the phone said they would wait if I got there before closing time.They were absolutely remarkable. They already had the part ready to install when we pulled in about ten minutes before two. It should also be noted that we had been driving for hours and the van was coming in very hot to work on.But they never flinched. Not once. They treated us like we had a top of the line Mercedes Benz. Their prices were very reasonable, they did an excellent job and they took care of two weary travelers. The van was done in a very short order and we made it to the church on time to setup for the evening performance.I live in Pennsylvania and travel quite a bit as a musician, performer, storyteller. I dont know when I will be back in Garner, but I would highly recommend this shop to anyone. Just a fantastic experience.

Chris fit me into the schedule after an appt with Mr. Tire got cancelled because their AC machine broke. We ended up getting the refrigerant filled knowing that in a few weeks we would have to come back so they could see where the leak was. Chris quickly called to tell me the problem, offered really good options, overall made me feel he had our best interest in mind and promised to do it as quickly and efficiently as possible as labor was the bulk of the pricing. Overall AWESOME experience and our family will be going back.

Love this place and have been going since 2004. It was good then but under Chris, it has become even better. Two times in the last month I have come in with two different vehicles. They are honest and above approach. In both cases they could of said they would need expensive repairs. The first vehicle a Ford Ranger had a blown head and other internal piston damage. I asked if it was their vehicle would they repair it and they said no. They would put the money toward a different vehicle. The second time I heard squeaking in the brakes and thought they need new brake pads. Again they said no the back were 40% worn and the front 50% worn and all the back need was some cleaning of dirt and dust. I trust this shop with all of my vehicles and just purchased a F150 which I will now be taking to Garner Auto Specialist for all repairs and service. Michelle on the front desk is warm and welcoming and adds to the overall professionalism of this shop. Danny and Chris as true professionals and extremely knowledgeable and proudly display their certifications. You can t go wrong taking your vehicles to this shop.

This was my first time using this place. I saw the positive reviews and decided to give them a call. I spoke with Chris and he was super nice and helpful. He quoted me a price for my alignment and got me in the following morning at 8. While I waited for my vehicle I noticed that Chris knew his customers on a first name basis and they knew him also. That is the type of family style business I like to see. He was polite friendly knowledgeable and the service was fast a executed well. I arrived at 8 and was done by 8:38. This will be my mechanic shop for all my vehicles and any future vehicles. I even signed up for the rewards program free of charge. Definitely give them a call for you vehicle maintenance and issues.

I had my car inspected here at Garner Auto Specialists. I did not have to wait. They got me in and out. They were very friendly and professional.The waiting area was clean and the parking area was clean also. I needed new wiper blades before passing inspection. Mine had split. But, their replacement was more than I was going to pay. They said if I go buy them, they would put them on for me. I appreciated that!

Just went there for an oil change today. VERY quick turnaround. From the time I walked in to the time I walked out was under 20 minutes. Overall, I was very pleased with the level of customer service I received and the cleanliness of your facility. The only reason I left off 1 star is there was a $4 extra charge because my car needed a special kind of oil filter. I am not upset or mad by this at all. Extra work = higher cost. However, I was not informed when she took my vehicle information, or before they performed the service that there would be an extra charge. It would be beneficial to the customer for your computer to red flag the vehicle information in cases like mine, so the counter person can inform the customer of the extra charge prior to them handing over the keys. Overall, I thought the oil change cost was a bit on the high side, but still within the range of a fair market price. So no real complaint there, other than the extra $4.I would have given 5 stars had I been informed prior to the service.

I had my truck inspected there today and was beyond impressed by the service I received. An employee met me at the truck almost before I got stopped. He took my truck and they got it right in a bay. The tech who inspected it was super polite. The manager spoke and thanked me for choosing them to inspect my vehicle. In a day of little to no customer service this business knows how to treat the customer.

I’ve come to your location many times in the past and the service was always good. However I stopped in this afternoon at 20 minutes to 3:00 PM. The young man came out greeted me and said “We close at 3 so we’re not taking any more cars for oil changes today. Now, in my world a 3:00 PM close means you take customers until 3:00 PM and then cut off any further customers after 3:00! PM.I simply thanked the young man and drove down to Cleveland Auto Spa who took me in and completed the job in 15 minutes.FYI, there was one customer in a bay being handled and the other bay overhead door was open. If you don’t take customers for oil changes 20 minutes prior to closing I suggest you shut the overhead door .

I went in for an oil change and because I had a leak of some sort. (The oil change was $49 for my Corolla.) The oil change came with an inspection and the staff noted some additional issues with my vehicle - some require more immediate attention than others. I didnt feel pressured to accept any of their recommendations. They also diagnosed the leak, which had something to do with the valve cover ($155). I appreciated that the issues were diagnosed and fixed quickly on a Saturday. I also thought the staff were super friendly! Ill be back for sure.I signed up for the rewards program and received a free $14 car wash. It wasnt the best automated car wash, as others have indicated, but it was free! I wouldnt pay $14 of my own money, but Id be willing to try it again at one of the lower price points.

I cant say enough good things about these guys. Brought my truck in for the first time for a tune up and some other basic maintenance. They treated me with respect as if I had been a long time customer and gave me a quick and thorough estimate, without trying to sell me things I didnt need. I dealt with Chris and Michelle, both very friendly. Chris did the work and hes an excellent mechanic, my truck ran extremely smoothly afterwards. They charged a very reasonable price for the work they did and Chris called me the following day to make sure everything was running smoothly. He also gave me an estimate for fixing my AC unit. When I brought it back in to get my AC fixed, Michelle remembered my name immediately when I walked through the door, even though I had only been there once before. They only charged me half of what they originally quoted because they found they didnt need to replace the whole line, just a valve. Quick, Friendly, and fairly priced service from honest people that do great work and its evident they care about their customers. I will definitely be back for any future auto repairs or maintenance.

My first visit today was with my sons 2002 Toyota Celica. Its seen better days, and were planning to give/sell it away, but it was running rough and I wanted at least some idea of how bad things were. Change the plugs, sure. New engine? nope.Chris and his team were great. They did an analysis and found the major problem that was related to the engine mounts. Quite expensive to fix, but good to know since I couldnt have that on my conscience.They charged me $50 for the work, and I got a free car wash! I will take my car there in future - or wherever Chris recommends for specialist work. Honest and fair - that will keep people coming back.Update: 12-June-2018. Toyota is all fixed and runs so much better! If the body work was a little better, Id be tempted to keep it. Someone is going to get a nice little runner cheap. Great service from the folks at GAS.

I have been here s couple of times. Service is great however I was not too impressed with the car wash. I paid $12 for the ultimate car wash and I felt the wash did little to clean my car. I had to go elsewhere to get my Car cleaned after however the auto service is great and recommended

If I could give less I would. I have a 2014 Chevy Cruze. Took it in for an oil change. Expected the cost to be $60 max for a such a compact car. When it was finished it was $107. $104 was for the oil and $3 to top off my washer fluid. I am not making this up. Can’t make it up. So, if you are into being overcharged take it there and have a wonderful day.

Wonderful as always!! Theyre the only people I let work on my vehicles ... got 170,000+ miles out of the last one! They have a master mechanic on site and I intend to do my vehicle maintenance and repairs there! They have always been fair, up front and (most important to me as a single female) NEVER done work that didnt need to be done. I have no clue if theyre pricey (all mechanics are in my opinion), but even if they are, its worth the extra to me to have a place that I can count on to be honest and do quality work. Love these guys!!!!!

Never in my years on this planet have I received such fast automotive service. I arrived for an State Emissions / Safety Inspection. One of the mechanics preempted my entrance to the facility, took my registration and keys. The inspection was complete and I was out the door in no more than 15 min. I am sure that this is atypical since it was not a complicated transaction, but it was nice to receive prompt, courteous service regardless!

We have been taking our cars here for about 3 years and have never been told that we need something that we dont, have never been surprised at the end when our bill was more than we were told, and have always left knowing what we went for was taken care of, and taken care of correctly. Very professional and very dependable. Would not trust our vehicles anywhere else!

I have been going here for over a year now. I have needed a lot done to my car and they never fail me. If you have kids, I bring my 4 year old to McDonald’s that’s right across the street and there’s no complaining! I have been to other auto shops and never felt comfortable cuz they would over charge and my car would come back with more problems but so far I have nothing to complain about with garner auto. I probably go there every 2-4 months for check ups cuz I go out of town often and I want to make sure my vehicle is reliable. For the most part they usually have good availability. I feel like during the winter months they’re a bit more busy but I think that’s all shops. I called yesterday around 4pm about needing my headlights replaced and oil changed and they we’re able to fit me in at 8:30am today.

Everyone at GAS is great, but today, Danny is my hero! I bought a car a few months ago and was having trouble with the factory remote start. I took my car in to the shop expecting a repair, but it took Danny about 5 minutes to realize it was user error. He showed me what I was doing wrong, and I was on my way! Total rip off! My husband took our van there knowing what the main issue was, but we wanted the peace of mind of a professional fix. Guy quoted us a price to look at it for $60ish. Next day, we were called and told it was a much more major issue that would require over $500 in repair. Come to find out what they wanted to repair is not even a part that is on my make or model of our vehicle. Then they charged us $120 in labor for $9.27 in parts to do nothing. Never again.

Garner Auto saved me when I broke down on the highway on my way to the beach for vacation. I had my Lexus towed in after hours. They completed the work and fixed it the next day (replaced the radiator, hoses and coolant) and called to ask if they could keep it an extra day to drive it and test more. They were great with communication, calling me back, always answering the phone. They even held my car for 4 extra days until I was on my way home. When I picked it up, they gave me a free car wash! thanks for the help and being a trustworthy spot to get my car fixed!

These guys ripped my wife off when she went in for an inspection. Charged her 75 bucks to “clean the headlights. I used to be a state inspector and know this is not part of the inspection. Stay away!

I went yesterday for an inspection. They failed it because one of my blinkers didnt work. The man explaining it to me assumed that I didnt know anything about my car and tried to tell me that the blinker isnt easily accessible and that it was going to be $125 to CHANGE THE BULB because they were going to have to take the whole headlight out! What he didnt know was that I change my bulbs by myself all the time since the vehicle I have has a factory defect that causes them to blow often. They are, in fact, very easily accessed under the hood and can be changed in seconds, WITHOUT REMOVING THE WHOLE HEADLIGHT! I explained this to him and he just shrugged it off and charged me for the failed inspection. What a dishonest business. They assumed because I was a woman, I would just pay it and not recognize their scam. Not today, not me.

I am not much of a review writer but...I stopped by the day after Thanksgiving to get my wifes oil changed. Place was closed so I used the car wash. I got home and noticed the car still had dirt on the doors. I was disappointed as I had purchased the most expensive wash on the board. I sent an e-mail to voice my complaint that Friday. On Monday, I received a call from a very nice representative who listened to my complaint and immediately offered to refund the money or send me a few car wash coupons to make up for the experience. I opted for the coupons and thought that I needed to write a review to simply say this demonstrates an old school integrity that I appreciate. There is no substitute for this way of doing business. We all make mistakes and come up short in the service business...the best places are the ones that correct these issues and work to build customer trust. See yo guys at the next oil change!
