AVOID. Very poor experience. My elderly fathers car had a loose battery cable and instead they convinced him that he needed a new alternator (car is fairly new and also under an extended warranty) and they charged him over $1000. Even after the repairs the check engine dashboard light was still there (no one at the shop bothered to check). When my father asked why the light was still on (the reason he had gone to the shop in the first place) the repair technician took a quick look at the engine and said your battery cable is loose and that fixed it in 30 seconds.When I found out I wrote to Pep Boys corporate to notify them, but besides a form letter promising to follow up there was no further reply. Very poor customer service that might even constitute elder abuse. My father has had a few strokes and his speech is impaired (speaks slowly) and the fact that the car was under 20,000K should have at least prompted the maintenance shop to ask more questions (he told them he had a warranty but they said an alternator wouldnt be covered under his warranty - they didnt ask if he had any other type of warranty which he did - bumper to bumper - and it would have covered it) before trying to sell him a new alternator.After our family has gone to this Pep Boys for over a decade for car repair, this convinced us to avoid them going forward. Had corporate taken action by responding and provided a refund, you would have kept our business.

I went on line created an account try to set appointment . Web site wouldnt confirm so I called the number listed . Booked appointment for oil change asked about changing headlight . The guys says buy the bulb we will change it . GREAT! When I arrive Im told the bulb will be an extra $20 or so. No problem time is money. I understand . 10min later he comes back to say its going to be at least $120. For bulb . Its complicated ! Fair enough no thank you Ill look elsewhere. Found somewhere else took 15 minutes. Took off a cap pulled bulb out put new one in . Changed. No worries Pepboys I wont bother you again .

Took in to get new tires. They didn’t reset the computer so it showed one tire at 6 and all others between 30 and 45. One tire was noticeably flat already. I took it to a Walmart to get checked and there is no nail or puncture. When I called I was talked over, told the manager wasn’t in, it wasn’t their fault and different information by each person I spoke to.Edit: they didn’t put the caps on the air nozzles either

Paid for the item online received the invoice waited 2 weeks for a contact. then called the local store. They said next Wednesday. I then stopped by the store on the following Saturday the guy said it is not here and he will email me when it shows up. I waited called back he tried to brunch it off on another location called corp customer service waited on hold for an hour. Nothing happened after the conversation no action no traction. Called again today almost a month later waited on hold an hour and a half got disconnected called the local store one last time and it was on a recorded loop. Need parts do not waste your time.

I came in to have 2 tires replaced and when I got home I noticed my battery powered snapon rachet was missing out of the back seat. I spent over $600 to have my tools stolen. I will no longer use pepboys if this cannot be resolved.

Ive been coming here for a good while now. I get all my fleet and personal vehicle tires here. The best time to come is on black Friday for the buy 2 get to free deal (must pay install). The folks in service are great. Janet and her crew always take care of me and my folks that I refer to them. Commercial Dept is also very helpful and attentive. Good store overall.

Dropped off my Truck that has warranty under Silver Rock. We got a call to pick up the truck and that there would be a cost for the diagnostic. I found this weird so I contacted Silver Rock myself and said they would cover the Diagnostic themselves it shouldn’t be out of pocket to me and that there was no claim on file. I told them my truck was at PepBoys as we were speaking. Only repair or parts would be out of pocket if it fell out of warranty. When we get here my husband basically told them we called Silver Rock and that they told us the diagnostic is covered. The guy went on to say that they take too long to answer. so my husband told him we just got off the phone with them. Silver rock answered in no more than a minute. They got mad because we caught them in their lie.

If I could give negative stars I would!! Definitely the worst place Ive taken my truck for alignment. I changed the suspension and I took it to do the alignment on a weekend, after they did their job I drove it back to my house but I started feeling my truck weird, it was pulling to one side then suddenly pulling to the other side making it strong noice and wobbling every time I was pressing the brakes. I took it back the next weekend since I didnt have time during the week and they were blaming me I had an accident that was the reason my truck was doing that! These guys left my driver control arm loose Im lucky I didnt get an accident like they were saying!! After fixing that control arm everything was working fine! I dont recommend anyone trusting them, Im not coming back to any Pep-Boys!!

IAN helped me get the exact car battery I needed for my older truck, and even helped me loosen the post I had cranked down too tightly. Incredible service!!! Went in needing my oil changed, inspection and tires rotated. From the moment I pulled up I knew my car as well as myself were in great hands! Glenn and Cue are very knowledgeable, caring and respectful of what was needing to be done. Chris, Service Manager, made sure I stayed updated on what was going on, as well as making sure we were comfortable during our wait. (I had my 4 year old daughter with me) Pep Boys will always be the one to maintain my car! I dont have to worry about them telling me I need something, when I dont. I trust them! Ive been going here now over a year and its by far the best decision I made! Especially as a woman I dont feel like Im being taken advantage of. Everyone is so nice and makes you feel comfortable. I wish there was an option to give this horrible place no stars or a negative star..cause theyre horrible! They have no idea how to treat people nor their belongings! If you want your car fixed & not stolen..then you do not want to do business with this place! My car was stolen from this location last year while in their bay. They refuse to take any responsibility for this incident I was told Wells thats why you pay insurance each month. Its been a constant battle trying to get any information in regards to this situation and the rep at the location Chris told me once Im not giving you any information, & hung the phone up in my face! All I wanted was an estimate for my car not to have my car stolen while in the hands of a very well known company. No Pep Boys will ever get any of me nor my family & friends money again! To this day i can not get a response back from anyone as to why Im responsible for all damages and the theft of my vehicle that was in their possession. Thankfully the car was located and the person who stole it was arrested but it was also found wrecked and with tons of damage! Pep Boys could at least pay my deductible or offer to pay the repairs that were needed to be done when it was stolen. But no theyve done none of that all I hear is its not our problem! Put yourself in my shoes Pep Boys you wouldnt want someone to treat you that way if it were yourself or your family member! So again people if you want to maintain possession of your vehicle please dont ever go here..!! They no idea what customer service means & in my opinion they shouldnt even be in business with the way that they treat people! I work hard for the things that I have! I could understand if my car was in the parking lot but no my car was in the bay with the hood up when this happened so why am I at fault? This place if horrible, horrible, horrible and theyre beyond rude! Just take me advice do business somewhere else dont give this place a dime..!

They were very friendly and helpful. Just one thing which was a bit confusing for me was that I went there for doing wheel balance that I saw in their website for 15 dollars(not mentioned per wheel) and the lady in the mechanic shop told me that it is per wheel not for all of the wheels. So she made it 35 dollars for 4 wheels. Their service was great, anyway. Thanks Pep Boys!

I have called up to the shop 4 times over two weeks and every person said they would call me back. Haven’t heard from anyone. Called back up today and they said they don’t sell the battery anymore.

INTENTIONALLY USED THE WRONG OIL FILTER ON MY CAR!!! I’ve been taking my car to Pep Boys for oil changes for the last two years and I do them frequently because I drive for lyft. I never had an issue until coming to this location. When I went in on 6/13/19, they did not have the correct filter for my car and instead of notifying me, they decided to try to use a substitute. I did not know they did this until the next day when I noticed my gas being consumed 5 times more than usual. So I had a mechanic check it and he informed me that the wrong filter was used. While I was at pep boys the day of the oil change I overheard an employee say he “found a filter” but apparently it was not the correct one. This means they knowingly put the wrong filter on my car and did not notify me in order to give me the option to back out of service. They completely neglected to take into consideration the consequences and dangers that putting a faulty oil filter on could pose. I contacted the Manager, Mike and he refused to speak to me, claiming that I had hired a lawyer but I never said I hired a lawyer. All I wanted Pep Boys to do was to rectify the situation at another location and compensate me with some kind of gas reimbursement. That seems reasonable to me. I have taken pictures of my mileage and printed out gas receipts in order to prove the abnormal amount of gas consumption. I hope Pep boys is able to handle this matter before it escalates to a bigger issue

NEVER GO TO THIS LOCATIONWent today because my low oil pressure light in my car came on after i filled it with 4 quarts of oil and this was the closest place. After they changed the oil (for $80 yikes), they said it leaked the oil and was only at 1 quart when i got there because the plug wasnt the correct size. There were no oil marks at the place I parked it at so I went to open the hood to check and it wouldnt open. They took it in again (after saying we mustve pulled it too hard), and fixed a temporary solution with the cable and said it needed replacing. They also put 2 bullet sized dents in my hood, but claimed that they were there before, we didnt do this.If i could give it 0 stars i would, everyone stay away from this location.

The employees are kind and knowledgeable, but the people.in the actual service area take so long its outrageous. They spend literally an hour on every car no matter what they are doing. I had to wait over 2 hours to get a tire changed I would get the wait time if they were busy but they werent. there was only one person ahead of me and they just had a tire changed thats it. You can watch the guys that are working on cars just standing around doing absolutely nothing for 20 minutes at a time just talking or on their cellphones.

Your stock is well placed, the planograms are simple and items are easy to find. I bought 3/4 wire conduit to finish my wiring project. I like the look of the store, since the last time I was here, seems like the paint has been done on the outside. Looks great

Called before hand to get a tire (under warranty) replaced. Arrived at noon, waited for an hour in the waiting room, after that was told I need a new tire. (Obviously??) Was told it would be $103 even though I have a WARRANTY on all 4 tires. The tire I called about before noon wasnt even at this location. Had to wait over an hour again to even get the right tire here. Even though I called before hand. Waiting with 2 small children for over 3 hours for ONE tire is ridiculous. Plus having to pay over 100s for a new tire. Whats the point of a damn warranty???

Im a mom and work very hard everyday for other people so it is AWESOME when someone takes the time to help me out! He definitely deserves a raise or a promotion! Pep boys gets high marks from me because while I did not come there with my vehicle I was peddling by on a owner powered traditional bicycle when I had had a flat tire. The guys at pep boys had a patch kit available offered free compressed air and allowed me to sit on the sidewalk in front of their store as I repaired the flat tire. This repair took an unseemly amount of time because I am no expert and I had difficulty patching the tire.ultimately however after a couple of hours I did have a pack tire that has remained in service since. Pep boys only made $4 as their patch kit was cheap however they did get a good review out of the deal...lol

Ive been to the Garland location several times - all with excellent results. If I dont need anything they tell me and dont charge me for checking. All with a pleasant attitude. These are HONEST guys who know what they are doing. If you dont need it, they dont try to sell it. If you do need something their prices are really fair. Try these guys.

Change can be a challenge. So for such one to step outside of their box just to initiate change you expect the experience will be just as great or even greater than your usual. I cheated on auto zone, shame on me. Auto zone goes above n beyond. I purchased a brake light and the general manager just made a sell. Auto Zone has a long term customer just based on completing small task like installing brake light. Small generosity tasks is what makes me come back for more n more even more so now

Took my car here after my brakes malfunction. They wanted to do a whole new brake job which would have cost me $1444 just to rule out possibilities on what it could be. Definitely could not afford that so I had to get my friend to tow the car to my house (which is 70 miles away since I work in Dallas and live outside the metroplex) Got a mobile mechanic to take a look at it and he found the problem within 5 minutes of looking at it. It was only a $50 repair! I will not be going to another Peb boys to get my car repaired or worked on! Especially this location!

UPDATED REVIEW: I used to love this shop, but after yesterday I have drastically changed my opinion. My car slightly drifted right which had me thinking I may or my not need an alignment. $100 later now my car banks right and I actively must hold the wheel left to keep it corrected and drive straight. They said theyll have a different tech do another alignment for me, but watch it will mysteriously be a different [costly] repair need.

These guys have come through for me every time Ive brought a vehicle to them. The first time another place screwed up my oil change and wouldnt remedy the situation at all - these guys stepped up and helped us sort it out. Then when my fuel pump went out the car was fixed within 24 hours from the moment it was towed to their shop. Jesse and his team were consistently in touch, gave me a variety of options, and were always polite. Ill definitely be returning! Thanks guys!

Went in for oil change. Reminded them to ensure that they reset my oil change indicator after they change my oil. They mockingly agreed to reset it. But it end up not being reset despite the reminder. The last time I had oil change here it wasn’t reset. When I went back to them they told me it was another problem. So I went to Dodge and Jeep and I was told that there was nothing wrong with my vehicle. It was only the oil change indicator that needs reset. Can’t trust them for something that they say they repair on vehicle and charge people if they do incomplete services.

While the Infinity dealer finished another job on my car, they mentioned that I would need brakes soon. A couple of weeks later, I started hearing a squeaking noise every time I would drive, turn, and brake. I thought I needed brakes so I made an appointment at Pep-Boys to replace them. The gentlemen (name: CUE) that evaluated my car along with the manager Randolph immediately gained my trust and confidence. They let me into the garage for me to see my car with the tires off - they showed me that I didnt need brakes. That boosted my trust level with them real quick. Additionally, they offered to put back the tires, test drive the car and try to find what the squeaking noise was. Cue was able to identify the simple issue that was causing it and managed to fix it real fast and easy and they didnt charge me a penny. They have now gained themselves a loyal customer. I got an oil change and tire rotation. While doing their courtesy inspection, they found a suspension bushing that was split. Showed me a picture, gave me a price, but did not try to pressure me into buying it or overstate the severity of it. They were very professional and honest during my first visit there.

Worst experience ever! I will NEVER go back to Pep Boys again. I went in for a simple oil change, I was told that it would only take a few minutes and an hour and a half later I was told that I was missing my coolant cap. I just had my car inspected that morning and everything was perfect, it is a new car. I asked him how it would just be missing when it was there before I got to their store and I was told that it must have fallen off and to look in the last parking lot I was in. This is a cap that is made with a ring attached so it doesnt just fall off! I was then told that there was not a place I could buy just a cap so I would need a whole new Radiator and then I would need a complete flush because now my coolant was dirty. This was going to cost me a crazy amount of money. I left after paying for a simple oil change, went to Nissan and bought a new coolant cap for $8. This place is the biggest rip off ever!

I went in to take my car in for a tune up and I had my car check be for I got there and everything was fine but I took it in to get tune up like the spark plugs changed and oil change a week later my check engine light comes on like what!!! Makes no sense and the guys are very unprofessional cause all they did was reset my check engine light so I wont come back on like I couldnt see them do that I know how to reset it to sir but I work hard to have the things I have and someone to not do there job right is not far to others

Whatever happened to good customer service. We placed an order online through Pep Boys website to have a car part delivered to the Centerville location for us to pick up. At the time of the order it said the part would be available after 12 noon but it said we would get an email to let us know when it arrived...but NO, we didnt get an email when the part arrived. We were needing that part asap so we could get it on the car as we needed to head out of town but couldnt leave until that part arrived. Finally, we called since no email had appeared and the guy said yeah, its here but no one has scanned in the parts that were delivered yet...FRUSTRATING !!!! I guess we would have gotten that email sooner or later when they decided to get around to doing their job.

Got here for an oil change and was told by the person at the service desk it was gonna be an hour an a half wait (even though no cars were in the oil change bay). I said that was fine I have to get it done today, and he gives me a look of utter disappointment. After 30 mins off nobody doing anything another customer pulls up to also get an oil change and they get them right into the bay within 5 minutes. So Im left wondering why its an hour and a half wait to do an oil change and why did another person who showed up after me go before me? Is it because I said I was fine with an hour and a half wait when he was hoping I would just leave? Either way I wouldnt recommend this Pepboys unless you like interactions with employees who look like they hate their job.

Ive been here a couple of times and decided not to come again. The staff are friendly and professional enough, but not very efficient.The last time I went in for new tires and alignment, I had to really question their honesty and skill.First, someone came in and claimed that one of the lug nuts was cross-threaded and they couldnt get it off without cutting the stud (thankfully I have five per wheel so its still driveable). I put those nuts on myself just the day before and started them all by hand, then tightened with the cars wrench. I dont believe it was cross-threaded when I came in. More likely the mechanic accidentally went the wrong way with the air wrench or something and messed it up himself. Either that or they just wanted to make a sale on repairing the stud (which I of course declined).When they got done, I got no alignment report and when talking to the guy who did it, frankly have no confidence that he actually aligned the rear end.They told me my CV joint boot was slinging oil but failed to diagnose that it was actually torn in two and had been for long enough to cause major vibration issues (took me a while to diagnose myself). I figured it out myself later, but no thanks to them. They quoted me for new CV joints and the lug they ruined. As always, parts markup was sky high, so as with most mechanics, if you have them do any work on your car (please dont), at least make sure to ORDER YOUR PARTS ONLINE so youre not way overpaying for them.Looking for a good mechanic? Keep looking... Oh and shoot me an email when you find one!

Hours of operation are 8pm. I am here at 6:20pm and no one is available for a state inspection. If youre advertised hours for service state 8pm, it would be nice to have someone that can preform an inspection until 8pm.

Important Review!! Listen up....My local Pep boys, including Luis are excellent. My husband is a member of the military and had to leave on a emergency deployment and my car needed brakes. It was late in the evening and I was told that my car would be ready the next morning at 9am. I got to Pep boys and my car was not ready, but Luis explained that they did not have the Volkswagon tool to get it done, BUT that he would get it and complete the job. He stated that they only want to do good jobs and that is why they did not attempt to fix it without the proper tool. Well the next day, my car was done, a received a free oil change and the service was grand. Being a military wife is stressful enough having to do everything on your own when your spouse is gone, but knowing that guys like Luis and his crew are their to help me with all car questions and problems, really help me relax. They are a military friendly shop, and he stated,While your husband is away, we will make sure that you wont ever have to worry about anything regarding your car. A lot of you may have your special person home with you all the time, but myself and other military wives know how hard it is to find someone you can trust when you are all alone and someone how wont rip you off. So to all ladies, military or cilivian, you can trust Luis and the crew at Pep Boys on Northwest Highway in Garland, TEXAS!!

I went in to get my timing belt replaced and to get new tires. I knew ahead of time it was going to be a long wait. I had nothing planned for the day that couldn’t be rescheduled or done the following day on Sunday. Yes it took a long time to get the work done on my car, but these guys work non-stop and they work very hard to make customers happy. They explained to me ahead of time and showed me a breakdown of what needed to be done and the cost. I am very cost conscious and wanted the lowest price I was quoted over the phone and they obliged. I started out with the lowest price, but was shown my actual timing belt and the other parts were in poor shape. I learned a long time ago the hard way the consequences of skimping on car maintenance. I am glad they showed me the parts so I could see for myself what poor condition they were in and they helped explain to me what each part did, so I could make an informed decision.Randolph Moore is the Service Manager and was kind enough to drive me to across the street, so I could eat lunch and then picked me up afterward. He offered to take me anywhere I needed to go. I thought that was superior customer service because he didn’t have to do that. When I thanked him for the ride he said that it was his pleasure to serve me because it wasn’t about the cars for him it was about the people and serving people. I have a very high sensitivity to detecting BS, but I could tell this guy was genuine. He was sincere and he was very much a people person and what he was saying was coming from his heart and his very being. This guy really loves people.These guys work long hours and most of their time is spent working alongside each other, so I got to see their camaraderie. When I was checking out before I paid I asked if they had any coupons and I received an additional discount. Before I left I was going to give Randolph a hand shake, but he gave me a hug instead. I told him he was about to make me cry. Overall it was an excellent experience of superior customer service.

Jesse D. and his team did a fantastic job repairing my 2012 Nissan Sentra. I had early wear and tear on my struts and need it replaced because it was becoming a big safety concern (front right tire felt like it will come off any day). They were quick to schedule my repair and explained thoroughly what I would need to get my car driving smoothly again (not to mention they were reasonably priced compared to that of the dealership. The Nissan dealership even recommended I trade my car in, no thank you! It just needed some TLC). The wait time was shorter than expected so that was nice although I did bring my laptop to occupy myself as they have free WIFI. Overall, excellent customer service and my car drives smoothly once again! Ive been driving it for a couple weeks now and I am an extremely satisfied customer. I highly recommend Jesse Domingo and his team. I will be back with my mothers car as she is needing a repair.

Decent but some time overcharge I was informed I need a radiator and to get and have install they told me it was 200 for radiator found some where else for 100 the exact same one and to install it they said 300 so basically 500 total Im rounding it but I got done for 200 else where

It was prompt. It was even affordable - until the tech broke my tire sensor but claimed he didnt. Funny that the tire light never came on before he touched my vehicle. Now I have to either drive around not knowing for sure if there really is a problem with my tires, or take my car to KIA to pay some crazy cash to get it fixed. Thanks, pep boys. I wont be coming back & Ill be sure to let everyone know why.

Mechanics forgot to tighten my lugg nuts causing my wheel to fly off while driving 50 mph with my daughter in the car. We wrecked. So I had to get my insurance company involved because their claims departments took 2 weeks to get back to us. Theyve now paid for all damages admitting fault. But I get my car back yesterday from another autoshop that we were recommended to go to. And now theres all sorts of problems with the front end. Caused by the wreck we had due to our tire flying off and our car slamming down on the rotor then sliding nearly 100 yards on a busy street. Coming to a stop on a curb Now were still in a rental car having a second adjuster look at after Pep Boys declined to have their own adjusters look at.

I always go here there are always great but today it was not the same experience i waited maybe 2 hours saw people getting there cars fix before mine when i went to the counter i never seen him before said oh i forgot to out your car in the system so i was just getting skipped so not the best experience today but i have always had a good experience im not gonna make judgement on this one bad time

There work is good but how do you run a business when you tell ur customers go to Racetrac because were remodeling our restrooms thats b******* so no I dont give them no five stars they dont deserve it they should at least make some kind of arrangements to have outside bathrooms for the customers there hello

Do NOT take your vehicle here for any reason.If I could rate in the negative I would. This is the ABSOLUTE MOST HORRIBLE place to ever take a car to get fixed. Very unprofessional and screwed my husband royally. Thank you for not doing your job correctly you absolute joke of mechanics. You know who you are. You ruined his car more.
