Fantastic little store. Has a wide range of comics, mostly from the 1960s thru present. I would say the bulk of their material is from the 70s, 80s and 90s. Mostly DC and Marvel, but a decent collection of other titles.Theres also a nice range of toys and figures.

You gotta check this place out if you’re in the area. Awesome selection of comic books, pop animation figures, posters…. NERD HEAVEN!!! Go to viet Cajun or seahorse grill to eat after. Or grab beers at Galveston island brewing.

Quite a fun selection of a variety of items!Definitely perfect for a true comic lover as there are more than you can count in every direction. Only small negative is customer service did not interact with us when we came in or walked by her. Would have spent a good bit more money with some friendliness.

Been in here 3 different times and I have been disappointed everything. Either its over priced or not for sale. I get that Galveston is a tourist town but come one. If you want a great comic book store near here, just drive to Houston to Nans, 3rd planet, or bedrock. Way more selection and more reasonable priced.

My family brought me here on my birthday a few years back and I really liked the place. The owners seemed nice and they have a great selection. Definitely a place to check out if youre a comic lover.

A fun place to go for endless back issues> was able to find some back issues to complete some runs I was working on, and they were hard to find until I stopped at this store. Will definitely visit this place again

Tons of options in a tiny space, it’s kinda cozy. The lady who owns doesn’t judge you for your raging collecting addiction.

Awesome place for a comic collector to begin some complete series run such as Robin, GL, and even some independents such as Locke & Key. Lotta of collectible oddities such as McD cups and toys. A+++ after my 4th visit.

This is the number 1 original shop and you can tell they love the genre. i love the staff. browsing is always fun. sales force never pushy and happy to recommend new favorite reads or stories to explore for every taste

We come every so often but the employees are always so welcoming and helpful. They have great knowledge of their products and that makes our trip worth while.

Amazing store and staff! They had many options and plenty of space to search around. The staff was friendly, helpful, and don’t stand over you the whole time you’re shopping. I needed a specific comic that I couldn’t find anywhere, and although they didn’t have it in stock in Galveston, they did at their El Lago location. They really went above and beyond and I will most definitely be coming back to both locations.

We as a family very much enjoy this comic book shop. Lone Star Heros is so involved with the community as well. My son who first started to love and enjoy reading comic books at the age of 3 is almost 10 now and cant wait to go and see whats new. My 50 year kid at heart enjoys the collections. I myself enjoy finding some of the lesser known comics that most places wouldnt even carry. We as a family truly enjoy this shop. Lots to choose from and a lot more to collect from here.

Dont waste your time. They will kick you out if you dont have a face mask. I drove 30 minutes to get to this place for them to tell me I cant shop without a face mask. Some nice stuff, some junk, definitely overly priced just in the few things I did see.

Store itself is neat. The older lady that greeted us was very rude and being sarcastic to a 7 year old with Autism because he got a little more than normal hand sanitizer. Probably will not be back.

Awesome stuff on display awesome comics and friendly staff. I was mad i could not buy more to fit in my luggage. A highlight of our trip. Stop by and if you want some inside info of the island they will provide you with local favorites. Also support comic book stores! If you are a starwars fan you will drool looking at the display cases! My son loved it and so did I.

This comic shop has a great selection of collectible first runs, first appearances, and vintage comics. It also has a great brand new selection. Classic stories are packaged together, so you do not have to dig through comics to find the ones that correlate. The best part is: ALL COMICS ARE BAGGED AND BOARDED INCLUDING BRAND NEW ONES FOR NO EXTRA CHARGE! Every comic shop should be run this way!

Ive gone twice now, once out of curiosity during a trip to the beach, and once again on another trip as I had always wanted to go back.I mainly go for the RPG supplies, however they have walls and the floor filled with comics, statues, cards, supplies, and everything you can think of or need.The staff are passionate and wonderful, and I look forward to going on my next trip to Galveston!

I could spend hours browsing in here. I never thought I would spend $100 on a book, but by golly I spent that much on one I also had autographed at a signing they hosted. The owners are super nice and I will cherish my Deadpool book until I die. Then my kids can fight over it. 😉 Meanwhile, Ive noticed my kids tend to shop here when they buy me a gift. 😍

We ran into this place a few months ago, and had a great time looking around at old to new books. Great collections and a ton of fun, this place place reminds of the good old days on comic book hunting. Action figures from the old to the new. A great amount of bundle set tjatvare hard to find in complete sets. I would say that have good prices, because I keep going back for more.

Was visiting Galveston on vacation and I always like to check out a local comic shop while I travel. Lone Star is one of the best shops Ive seen. Great selection of back issues and new stuff, tons of old actions figures, and awesome packages of entire comic runs! They have little in the way of trade paperbacks and hardcovers from what I saw, but in this day in age where you can get that stuff from any bookstore or website, thats not as much of a draw anymore. Great shop. Friendly folks. Check it out!

Really liked the store but the lady that was working kept following me. Kind of ruined the experience for me.

The worker was friendly and really chill, and I found some pretty obscure stuff, which makes me think their wares are extremely broad. Overall it seems like a really nice store and if I was a local to the Galveston area I would definitely shop there regularly.

We were really excited to see a Lone Star Comics in Galveston. Having visited several location in the Dallas. The staff was everything but friendly. My wife (the Comic Collector) and I (action figure/Sideshow Collector) each had a kid in tow and I assume this meant we werent going to make a purchase. There were three employees working, one of which we thought was a customer due to his annoyance having to walk by my wife and two year old. Only reason they didnt get a one was due to their selection of back issues.

I absolutely love this comic shop and the amazing staff who work there. This shop is just what Galveston needed, and its right on the beach. This shop is always packed full of comics with new stuff coming in all the time. The sale items are always fantastic, especially the $1.00 comics. Pick up a dozen or so and youll be entertained (and hooked!) for quite a while. Not only is their comic selection awesome, but they have lots of cool old toys and a few higher end collectibles from Sideshow and Hot Toys among other stuff. If you come on a day when theyre having a raffle or fun event, then that just makes the trip even better. As a HUGE Star Wars and old TMNT fan, this place is beyond amazing.

This place is incredible! To start with, it fills one of the basic needs of nerdom my hometowns never truly fulfilled: a place to gather in wonder, where not only can fans and geeks meet, but where they can worship the pantheon of comics in its glorious and actual infinitude! They have the new stuff, the old stuff, the essential AND the trivial, collectibles AND nerdy utilities; they have what you need AND what you want! And this place is definitely something we needed!

The gentlemen who helped us was so nice and knew his store well, and it was awesome that it was easy to see on the way to the beach. My mom and I just HAD to stop and get stuff for my brothers. Prices are so reasonable compared to the comic stores back in Dallas, and they have everything you could imagine! Regular stuff to collectibles, old Disney, pokemon, manga, even ty beanie babies and walking dead stuff. 100% stop in.

Great shop me and my wife went by while in Galveston last week. I bought alot of magic cards for great prices. Everyone there was super friendly. It makes me wish i lived closer.Thanks for the great experience.

Lone Star Heroes is by far the the most impressive comic book shop in the entire Houston area. The prices are fair and the staff is always eager to lend you a helping hand. Furthermore, one would be hard pressed to find a better subscription service. I highly recommend this business to any and all pop culture enthusiasts.

This comic store blew my mind, and honestly this is what all comic stores should strive to be like. Huge selection of titles all nicely laid out for you, with tons of bundles to make your wallet cry! Now what really was the icing on the cake for me as a comic reader was the selection of Golden Age Horror comics on the left wall all the way to the end. This was my first time seeing pre-code comics in person and this store gave me that experience! The gentleman I spoke with was really friendly, cant wait to visit again!

Not only does the owner know comics, he knows his shop. This place prices for everyone - from kids dragging thier parents end off the beach, to collectors looking for rate and high value pieces. He carries local artists without charging them commisions, and he also gives a great discount for subscriptions. Best Ive heard of in Texas. Seriously, stop in and get your geek on.
