Ive been eating at Island pride for years. On mpst days the food is average at best. But the last time I ate there my chicken wasnt cooked enough. I like my Chicken to fall off the bone. As you can see this was the opposite. I dont plan to ever return again. Which is sad because its one the few Caribbean spots in Gaithersburg.

Great Caribbean grocery store. Every item you need at a reasonable price. They also have a modest menu of prepared food. Very delicious and worth the trip. I recommend a trip to Island Pride for all your fresh Caribbean produce, good patties and coco bread, delicious beverages, york castle ice cream. Dont sleep on the cooked food and soups in the back of the store. Its finger licking delicious.

Ive been going here for years and have always loved their food. The customer service was never all that great. But I went here on Thursday 9/17/2020 and as the lady was preparing my sons order there was a long piece of hair that came out with the spoonful of curry chicken. I made the lady serving aware and she got rid of the hair and thought she was still going to serve it to me and was rude. My friend who also ordered found hair in her phone once we were eating. Im very disappointed and never experienced anything like that here before. And I dont know if they got a new cook but the food was not good! The one in Rockville will be my new spot although its alittle longer drive for me cause I come from Frederick. Id rather the extra miles for a cleaner environment and friendly service.

We had a fantastic time at this restaurant. We loved the wonderful ambience and the food. The waiters are super friendly. I am content we finally decided to try this restaurant.

I only went through a friend but a female owner has two locations can be a bit pricey but worth it. Runs out of food quickly. Friend didnt get what I wanted spent too much time running her mouth. But I would recommend

I love their curry chicken. I keep hearing their food used to be better but I will never be able to review on that. I will forever stick to my curry chicken from this place. Portions are good and price is alright.Wish they had more options and their white rice was more flavorful. My husband states their is a place in DC he will take me to try and compare but this place is local so it hits the spot.

The best Jamaican food in Montgomery county I always get the curry chicken rice and beans and cabbage. Mac and cheese is ok Ive also tried jerk chicken which is delicious. They also have live music sometimes which is a VIBE. All in all I love this place

We went to see what they had to offer. They were out of ox tails and curry chicken no spuce bun got their just before closing. But I shall return. Owned by a woman with Caribbean and Soul in her cooking worth the price

$18 for oxtails? Way over priced. They definitely went up or the girl at the front overcharged me. I dont eat rice so I ask for extra veggies and was told no. I usually get a little more than what I got this time. Seems like she was saving it for the evening crowd. Then usually when I go there, I get some plantains with my meal. This time I was told no. Im so disappointed. I will never come back again. They lost a loyal customer.

I would give them zero if I could. Rude cashier up front and rude lady in the back serving food. They ignore you don’t want you to ask any questions like you standing in front of a blasted vending machine. Send them home if they don’t want to be there. It doesn’t matter whether they are related to the owners or not. It’s bad for business point blank period. Horrible customer service at this location. Food is not that enticing to put up with nasty behavior. No body should be handling food or in a food environment and spitting in a bottle.

It is a hole-in-the-wall but the best place for authentic Jamaican food. It is a carry-out only kitchen inside a small store that sells authentic/imported Jamaican goods. If your looking for a little better dining experience their Rockville location is better (across from MC). Been going here for years! On some occasions dont expect to be in and out, they are island folk and live life on island time.. if you get my drift.

Not that hard to do....Customer service is the key in that type of business & when u are sleep at the register, or speaking with an attitude or even FLIRTING with customers, you need training!!!!MAKE THAT DRIVE TO RED APPLE INSTEAD for your goat/oxtail.. put money in the pockets of Jamaicans that love what they do!!!

1st time here and the young lady was very helpful and pleasant this morning. I ordered the jerk chicken. It is excellent it taste like it was freshly made this morning. Food is simply delicious!

The best Jamaican food in the DMV. Big portions, AUTHENTIC, friendly customer service, clean, lots of options. They even offer deserts. I would recommend this place to everyone!

As a Caribbean person that loves Jamaican oxtail, their food was horrible. With little to no places to eat and enjoy some nice island cuisine in the Montgomery county area, I was highly disappointed with it. The food was not seasoned, lacked flavor, and I had to continue to add salt and pepper for taste. Will continue to make the drive to Beltsville to Caribbean Delight, with them I am never disappointed.

Second time I ordered through door dash and both times I had missing items from my order, they definitely should have a cashier to check the orders prior to pick up due to third party companies being unable to check orders from location for safety,. Not happy at all

Ummm...seriously? This was the worst!!!! The jerk chicken was dry, old, bland and just terrible. I was more like chicken jerky!! It also had an aftertaste/smell of bad rotten meat. I cant believe I spent $25 for 2 platters that came out of huge food warmers! It is clear that the food was days old as I came in before noon and the food looked like it had been sitting out overnight. The oxtail was also bland with small pieces and the rice mushy. I had to throw it all out!!!! NEVER EVER AGAIN!!!!!! I wish I could give NO stars.....BUYER BE WARE

I have been their customer for 10 years now. My Jamaican friend showed it to me and I keep returning over and over again. Food is great, all of it and this is coming from a white guy that never had Jamaican until I was first introduced to it.

MY TAKE OUT CONTAINER WAS REALLY HEAVY N HAD DINNER FOR 2 NIGHTS! FOR MY BIG CONTAINER OF CURRIED CHICKEN OVER RICE N PEAS W/ PLANTAINS WAS $10.50

Authentic Jamaican foods of all kinds! Many tasty vegetarian choices, too:the kallaloo sautee, curried veggies patties, rice and peas, macaroni and cheese, cabbage and onion, both sorrel and moss, creamed spinach, red velvet cake with a hint of rum flavor, provisions, coco bread... the list goes on and on! Great prices and friendly staff, I am definitely an immediate repeat customer.Oh, and like any good Caribbean restaurant, theyve got their own variation of the universal peppa sauce :D
