OMG I love this place and the people. Had one shop tell me I needed a rebuilt transmission. These guys found and fixed the short in one of my solenoid wires for WAY cheaper. Was honest and fast. Definitely will get my car repair business from my family.

I downloaded a coupon for a free diagnostic check up and the manager told me it wasnt free. He said he would drive the car around but it wouldnt tell me what was wrong. Horrible experience, they do not honor coupons and service. I would never go back

Get a 2nd, 3rd EVEN a 4th opinion before you make a final decision on certain services. I almost cost myself a $3k-4k worth of a major headache! Luckily, another Transmission Specialist was MORE than HONEST instead of just taking my money because I appear clueless! And, if your a Woman, dont let the Woman who works there plant any seeds because she will surely play off your worry and concerns, Psssssh!

Ive come here a few times over the years, with multiple vehicles, and was mostly satisfied. But the new manager Tony has definitely brought things up to 5 stars. Hes very thorough, and explains everything well so the novice can understand. Pricing is competitive and they stand by their work. Highly recommend!

Took the transmission apart and refuse to put it back after charging almost $1,800. I had to tow the car for additional. Poor customer service. I will never use them ever!

Just had some work done on my 2010 Lexus ES 350 by Mr. Kim and team. The thing I appreciated the most was the attention to detail and the effort to locate the real source of the problem. They saved me some money so I will recommend their service to other customers. It is hard to find honest and competent professionals.

When the transmission in my Ford Ranger blew, I was so distressed and worried. But, Sam Park was so very kind and comforting, making the experience less stressful. I was having problems with my 2011 Chevy Malibu I took its a multiple places to try to get it fixed they told me different things was wrong with it I was at the in willing to give up willing to return my vehicle when I took it to Aamco Transmission Service in Gaithersburg, MD. I recommend If you have any problems this is your 1st one stop shop Keith Kim worked on my vehicle and did all the hard work. He called my warranty company and did everything. I just sat back and waited for him to say my car is ready to be picked up. It costed me around 5 thousand dollars and I paid under a $1000.00🔧🔧🔧F.Y.I. We needed our Grand Cherokees transfer case checked out after it was locked in 4-high range after we engaged the 4 wheel drive after a recent snow storm. Tony said he would take a look and see what he could do. We dropped our vehicle off on Saturday morning and Monday early afternoon Tony called and went over a couple scenarios which could happen.Now for the whole reason for this. Tony called and let us know why this happened: a few weeks earlier we had 4 new tires installed at a national tire vendor and they installed the wrong sized tires on the front, ever so slightly off but enough for to shatter the transfer case in 4 wheel drive. We had the receipts in the glove box and Tony verified the serial numbers and tire sizes were incorrect. He wrote up a lengthy description of this for us to present to the tire installer for reimbursement, and if we had any issues with that, he would assist us.Tony first stated that the transfer case might just need released and cleaned, or the unit was really in dire and needed replaced. He let us know up front if he opened the transfer case and it was indeed bad, it would of course need to be replaced plus with cost of labor, the replacement unit and the chance of more work around going into the old unit. Then he optioned he could just replace with another transfer case and not have any extra surprises. We opted to not risk further work or expense and have Tony replace the unit. If we played it cheap and rolled the dice and said just open it up and hope for a cleaning, I am pretty sure we would have had a lot more issues than just replacing the unit from the start.Tony was concerned about our expense and our vehicles overall care to go the extra mile and make sure the correct path was taken.We have been coming to AAMCO in Gaithersburg since we moved to the area and do not look to stop any time soon. I was having transmission problems with my 2010 Mazda and I took it to a local shop in Carroll county and was told I needed a $4k new transmission. Not wanting to spend that much in an older car I took it to Aamco in Gaithersburg and had it repaired for $1600. Needless to say if you are given an expensive estimate elsewhere.. Take it to Aamco for a second opinion.

My experience was exceptional here. I came to get my 2000 Lincoln Continental rear air bags inspected. I show up about an hour before closing, i open the door and Im greeted with a smile and professionalism like it was 11am. This women who I soon became very familiar with named SHINA was great, she helped me extensively and went over and beyond what I thought was needed. The aura and vibe was very laidback and friendly, it was all do too SHINA. This shop was upstanding and honest from the very beginning about price and the timetable of everything. Keith and I had a few conversations not pertaining to my car that suprised and intrigued me at the same time. Let me also say I didnt get the work done they only diagnosed the problem(of course for a fee). All in all I would definitely go back here if I had any issues with my car, or just to visit.

I strongly recommend going to AAMCO (Gaithersburg) for all your vehicle repairs because of their excellent customer service. I had been a long time customer of Tires Plus, another local repair shop. In August 2017, I took my vehicle to Tires Plus to be repaired before getting my vehicle inspection in DC. When I was told Tires Plus couldn’t repair my vehicle because their mechanic was on vacation for two weeks, I took my vehicle to AAMCO (Gaithersburg).From the very beginning, the whole staff at AAMCO went out of their way to do everything they could to repair my vehicle especially Shina and Keith. Everyone I interacted with at AAMCO displayed excellent customer service.Once Keith diagnosed the problem with my vehicle and I authorized the repairs, he worked late to ensure my vehicle would be done before the weekend since I really need it on Saturday.About a week after the repairs were done, my vehicle broke down in my office parking lot. Keith personally drove over to my office several times in an attempt to diagnose the problem and get me back on the road. He and one of the other mechanics worked on my vehicle for over 2 hours in my office parking lot attempting to repair it. When they got my vehicle back to their shop, it still was not running right and so Keith spent extensive time over the weekend diagnosing the problem. He even came in on a Sunday when their shop is closed just to work on my vehicle.It turns out that the problem all stemmed from faulty repairs I had done at Tires Plus over a year ago. Keith went out of his way to help me by contacting Tires Plus on my behalf to demand that they pay for the new repairs. Keith also worked with adjuster for Tires Plus and patiently waited over 10 days for the claims company to accept liability and authorize the repairs. If it weren’t for Keith’s persistence, Tires Plus never would have accepted responsibility.After all the repairs were done, Keith even went back to the adjuster a second time to demand they replace the starter motor that was starting to wear out because of the faulting work done by Tires Plus. And he actually got them to pay for a new starter motor.Because of all their help and excellent customer service, AAMCO has earned a new customer for life. I will be recommending them to all my family, friends, and co-workers. Thank you to Keith, Shina, and the rest of the AAMCO team.

This place just charged me $500 to do no work on my vehicle. Since they were able to get my warranty company to cover the repairs they charged me $500 just to have my vehicle at their facility. It would not have been there that long but it took them 5 days to hear if the warranty company would pay them for the work. They then wouldn’t release my car until paid them $500...CRAZY!

0 stars worst experience of my life. Untrustworthy! Was charged to get my car gutted. The things they get away with is shocking. i wouldnt recommend them for my worst enemy.

Terrible customer service by the manager. He gives me an estimate over the phone two hours after i had dropped off the car, but he does not want to explain it. He puts me on hold for 15 minutes and then tells me that i am wasting his time with my questions. He apologized but kept giving excuses about how busy they were. Their labor and parts for replacing brakes and rotors were also a bit overpriced.

Had a transmission problem which a Mercedes Dealership, only wanted to replace the entire transmission. AAMCO Gaithersburg, Maryland was extremely helpful and courteous and solved my problem at a fraction of the cost. Ive been here twice for trans problems and both times Easton has been my contact. Hes been really great helping with pricing and time estimates. He gave me a break down on what had to be replaced and what would need to be at a future time. Shout out to the shop guys too. They really know what theyre doing and are very knowledgeable. I had my Mercedes there last year and they immediately pinpointed the issues and now, with my CRV, they gave it a thorough diagnostic, figuring out all the problems. Thanks guys!
