They did an outstanding job! I needed an antique porcelain bowl put back together, and an antique bookend repaired. They were helpful, knowledgeable, and did excellent work. I would definitely recommend them to others.

David and Jared were great to work with! Words can’t truly express how happy I am with the restoration of my family’s table. The table was given to me by my great grandparents. Being over 100 years old, the table was in rough shape, and after several moves, it was showing some wear. I took pictures and sent them in for a quote. The quote, which ended up being the final price, was more than reasonable. When I picked the table up and got it home I couldn’t believe my eyes! They completely reworked the legs so now the table is much easier to put together. The table leaf that was once two pieces of wood is now one solid piece. The finish is flawless and the details on the legs pop even more. I would highly recommend this place to anyone, and will definitely use them again for any future furniture repair/restoration needs.

Excellent work. They went beyond our repair target and cleaned up the whole piece. Looks like new. They did what they said, and when they promised. Theyre not super fast, not super cheap, but good. This is the place to take your good furniture for a refresh after the kids leave.

Colonial replaced the woven seat on an old rocking chair and colored the reeds to match the 50+ year old reeds on the back of the chair. It was a very impressive job and Dave was friendly to deal with. I highly recommend Colonial Restoration Studios.

Colonial Restoration Studio did an amazing job refinishing an antique Hoosier that was in need of some TLC. Their attention to detail, fine craftsmanship and great service far exceeded my expectations. Their pick up and delivery fee was very reasonable. All of this and friendly service too. I am very pleased with the job they did and am about to take some chairs that have been in my family since the 1800s in for refinishing. Im confident they will do another amazing job. I trusted them to restore/refinish my childhood kitchen table. This table is a massive oak table with over 40 years of wear & tear. The finish was peeling and there were deep scratches - not anymore! They did a FANTASTIC job! It is better than when it was brand new. We look forward to making new memories around this table for another 40 plus years! The arm beautiful old wooden chair was in serious need of repair, and the surface of the chair had become discolored and dirty. I brought the chair to them, and was very pleased with the results. The price was very reasonable, and the whole process took just a few days. The broken arm was repaired and seemed structurally strong, and the restored finish of the chair looked very natural and handsome. I would recommend them without reservation for other work of this type.

I was very happy and impressed with the work this company did on restoring my antique clock and table. The clock had been badly damaged due to some clumsy moving maneuvers but Dave and his son restored it so none of the damage was visible. Called Colonial Restoration the first week in August about restoring an old oak rocker. Article in the Washington Post on August 4th. Also gave the a birds-eye maple rocker and a Windsor desk chair. They have all been returned in better than new condition. The are beautiful. Would recommend them highly.

Colonial did a great job on a 12 foot antique farm table that unfortunately was the victim of multiple white heat stains. Dave and his son, Jarrod, spent more than the necessary amount of time making sure the table turned out perfect. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anybody and use them again.

We asked the table top to be refinished to a certain color and they did what they wanted, not what we wanted. They had to re-do it.More importantly, we asked them to smooth the joints between the table leaves. They didnt even try.

These guys are great! I brought in one of four poorly made office chairs that was falling apart after only a couple of years of use (remember when we used to pass furniture down to the next generation?!). Well, this father/son team worked wonders and the chair is in better shape than when I bought it! Theyve definitely locked me in as a repeat customer.

My dining room table surface was a mess, so I called them. On top of that I had a chair which needed fixing. They gave me an on the spot estimate and explained tn detail what they intended to do; I like that, it helps me to assess the costs. I was baffled how much less they charged compared to other folks. I brought in an early to mid-1800 grape crusher for wine making that was in my family. The article was rusted and missing a few wooden pieces. CRS was able to remove all the rust and replace the wood to look like the original within a weeks time frame. They were very professional and knowledgeable.

We have an antique Delft Tulip vase which was damaged in a move. Dave Hawksford did a wonderful job repairing the vase and there is no sign of it having been damaged. He skillfully put together an 83 year old pottery suger bowl lid that had broken into several pieces. I also have a 60+ year old hand carved crucifix from Bavaria in which the wood had started to split. I asked Dave for his advice. He immediately recognized the type of wood, how the crucifix had been created and took steps to preserve, reinforce, and prevent further damage.My wife and I found Dave and his son Jarrod very skilled, honest, and personable. We unhesitatingly recommend them!

Colonial Restoration did a great job on an old wardrobe trunk. They took care to retain the historical aspects of the trunk (e.g. the labels), but restore the look and functioning. They replaced the broken lock, replaced one of the outside walls, painted the corner brackets, and painted the whole trunk. We were happy enough with the work that we took an old desk for refinishing, which were picking up tomorrow.

We have taken several items of furniture, as well as an antique pitcher, a chipped alabaster vase, and a broken wooden sculpture. The work on such a wide variety of items has always been excellent, exceeding expectations. Prices are very fair.

Colonial Restoration repaired an antique desk I had purchased that was severely damaged in shipping (recommend never use At Your Service Transportation and happy to explain details).The desk is a French bureauplat style, with four curved carbiolet legs. All four legs were broken off near the base of the desk during shipping. Colonial Restoration provided a reasonable quote to completely create replacements with a finish to match the antique wood, and completed the work within 2-3 weeks.What started out as a horrible experience ended with our receiving a showcase item of furniture for our home thanks to the care and expertise of these artisans.

I have had an outstanding experience with David and Jarrods shop. I contacted them because of a beautiful antique Mahogany Chair that was, rather badly broken, as well as a rather old table over 125+ years old made from solid black walnut. Jarrod came out and gave us an estimate and took the pieces the same day with our approval. They contacted us within a few weeks to come to the studio and discuss the stain for the table. Our pieces were completed and returned in beautiful condition with all repairs done as promised.We were also given a written estimate as well as an oral one so that there were no issues with changes without our approval. I will definitely use them again.Having relocated from NY, I was not sure how to seek someone of their experience out. We could not be happier and will be using them again for some other pieces.
