If you want food poisoning then this is the place for you. I do not recommend getting an egg and cheese burrito from here whatsoever unless you want to throw up 3 hours later. Clearly this was not made fresh and was probably sitting in the heater for days or even weeks. They normally have expired snacks as well so take what you want with that.
Pop a Top is a Gainesville staple. Itβs a great spot to grab a beer and drink outside if youβre out and need to plan where to go next. My friends and I always use it as a starting point. They also have great snacks! Itβs a nice little store!
Had to leave my airbnb in the am while they did monthly pest spraying. Inconvenient! I went to go find some coffee and accidentally stumbled on Pop A Top. I was skeptical but it was convenient. The coffee was great! The breakfast burrito and donuts delicious. The young lady behind the counter was super nice and even brought my food out to the little patio bar. She allowed us to hang out there with my two dogs which I very much appreciated. Awesome experience!
First off I have been going to pop a top for years and used to bake their bagels, donuts, crossiant etc. That beening said I havent been in since last March when covid started. They remodel and it looks amazing. They also brought back the bhan mi. But sadly not the sandwhich that I so love, but the hotdog .I had to try the vegan one. The bread was soggy the hot dog barely cook their was pickled cabbage on it.way to much Sriracha. If a manager reads this plz bring back the sandwhich u had a depot park. Cause the hotdog isnt any good. I gave it 3 cause the remodel was sick.
Sorry, you have permanently lost my business because your prices keep going up. Others may have the $$$, but Im not paying $8.03 for an egg salad sandwich with a thimble-full of pasta salad. I get a much better deal at Grand Cafe.
Great place to pop-a-top, unwrap a vegan brownie, and feel self conscious about your lack of tattoos and doc martens
Very yummy soups and bread. I like large selection of unique snacks and drinks. Also luv vegan options and they are open late hours which is great. Definitely place to go if you hang out downtown.
The best cornerstore in the World! Staff is awesome, the selection and quality of the product is awesome. All that at a very decent price!
The place is owned by the same people who own The Top Restaurant. The place is convenient and good for a quick drink or meal. The food is a bit overpriced and is not as tasty as it looks. Overall, it is a fine place to eat and I suppose the price is ok for the fanciness of the food. But I prefer to go to a sit down place for the price. That being said, if you are looking for quick food it is FAR better then what you would get at a gas station or fast food place. Since it is meant for a quick stop, I give it 4 stars when compared to other places you can just run in and get grab something to take with you.
Pop-a-top offers a limited selection of upper end goods such as mixers, snacks, sandwiches, and drinks. The food is fresh and well sourced, so it is more expensive than a standard corner store. It is a cool place to stock up on essentials if you are staying in the Hampton Inn or just want a quick lunch break working downtown. There is no parking besides limited street parking, so it is best to reach it on foot. You can find parking on NE 1st street most of the time.
Had the biggest fried chicken biscuit of my life and it was so cheap. Great for a grab and go breakfast/lunch. And theres beer.
Really great vibe and service would definetly recommend.
I used to visit very frequently when this place first opened. However, over time, the prices have kept going up and the portion sizes have kept going down. Nothing special to lure me in. The staff attitude is often aloof toward customers. I now only go Pop-A-Top if Im desperate. I hope things change over there.
Perfect spot to grab this or that anytime during the day. Great prepared food options, beverages, coffee, beer and desserts.Great grab and go coffee. There is locally roasted Sweetwater Coffee with Good Morning Gainesville and Midnight Oil blends. The iced coffee is great anytime during the summer months.Great breakfast options. Grabbing a sausage or veggie breakfast burrito is probably one of the best decisions you can make to start the day.Limited but oh so convenient indoor and outdoor seating. Also, the music selections during the day are on point.
A bit expensive if You Like To Keep It Cheap And Simple, but Soups Are Great Here I Recommend It If You Go.
They have everything you could possibly dream of wanting from a convenience store. I always end up getting a mountain of snacks and five different beverages because I cant decide what I want.
When I worked downtown, I was a regular here for breakfast and occasionally lunch. My favorite breakfast was the breakfast burrito with sausage and a peanut butter blondie. Their sandwiches are okay if you need to eat at your desk. The only downside is they didnt open until 8, so grabbing breakfast on the way to work wasnt really easy to do without running late.
I work downtown and use to leave the office and travel for lunch. I use to see all my co-workers frequent pop-a-top for lunch. One day a co-worker suggested I try the soup. I tried it and it was absolutely divine, on that day I had the chicken noodle soup. Im not sure what they use for the base in this particular soup but it is to die for. Not only did I have delightful bowl of homemade soup but I also believe my total for a large cup of soup, a bag of natural sea salt and vinegar chips, and braggs ACV energy drink was just under or a little over $5. Everyday they have two soup options and they vary throughout the week you never know what they will be serving until the day of which is kind of exciting. I went there today for lunch and purchased 2 bowls of their potato and corn chowder soup . Again im not exactly sure what base they use for this the chicken noodle but I believe it is the same base that is used for the potato and corn chowder and it is soooooooooo good .Not only is this place convenient but the soup is made daily along with all the other food they serve (Ive tried their cold cut turkey before it was good extremely fresh)and it is very inexpensive.
Nice little place to pick up some snacks, beers, or just hang out and people watch from the side patio
Great variety of offerings for a tiny store! One of the few places to buy quick, healthy food on the go.
Too many vegan items. Confused as to what a pulled pork sandwich is with tofu
A great community shop. And locally owned is a plus.
Charming corner store with fun drinks and fresh ready-to-go lunch options!
Perfect place to eat and have some refreshing drinks
Tehy have good beer
