Super friendly and knowledgeable. Helped my daughter pick a board that fit her perfect and customized the board with wheels and bearings that would provide the best ride for our blacktop grade. Even let my daughter change out the new gear while explaining what each piece is does and teaching her how to properly install and adjust it. She is currently rolling down our very rough street only having to push off about once every 20 yards. Great prices as well. Freeride is exceptional.

I just started skating as a hobby so I wasnt really knowledgeable in the sport. I thought my board needed new wheels but long story short, my board isnt just great quality. The owner was SO helpful, friendly, and went above and beyond to teach me about the different types of boards and wheels. The owner also suggested skating and longboarding clubs for me to join in the Gainesville community. I highly recommend this shop for your skating and surfing needs. I cant wait to come back!

I came in due to the fact that my pivot cups were broken on my trucks. The employee was very real and nice about my alternatives to fixing this part. He told me both the cheaper and expensive alternative to fixing this problem. I respect this because he wasnt simply trying to just sell as much as he could for a profit. At the end of the day I chose setup my board with the most affordable pair of trucks. These trucks are not a namebrand but run amazing. This is a very respectable company and I will be back in the future for any longboarding services.

My 7y/o son recently became interested in skateboarding so me knowing nothing about skateboarding I ordered one on Amazon with a guaranteed delivery by his birthday. With one day left before his birthday Amazon notified me that his skateboard would not be there until the day after his birthday. So going into panic mode I got on the Internet And found freeride and decided to give him a visit. The owner was very knowledgeable ( Not only with his product but the history of the art of skateboarding) and patient and went above and beyond to make sure I got the exact skateboard that would be good for my son that is a beginner and not just upsell me to make money. I definitely recommend this skate shop for anybody that is in the skateboard world or wanting to enter the skateboard world. They don’t answer their phone and no longer carry sneakers. I tried calling 3 times to no avail, while they were nice when I walked in having someone answer the phone would have helped ten times over since I drove out here for nothing.

After driving over my daughters first board, she paid for on her own, I found myself at freeride wanting to replace it. I came in with three kids under the age of 11 in tow, had little knowledge, and many needs. The gentlemen who helped was incredibly patient with us all, and answered all my questions, gave great recommendations for what my oldest daughter needed for the next step and what she was looking for, and was super nice. He knew what I wanted to spend and kept us well under. Loved this place and well worth the drive from out of town!! Small business wins again!

I ordered a paid of Costa sunglasses from them and they called to let me know they arrived 72 hours later. They were so nice and helpful that I decided to order a second pair for my wife on Tuesday (next day) and told them I needed them by Friday and if they didnt come in time I would have to pass on purchasing them. They were kind enough to order them without me paying for them in case they did not come arrive in time for the weekend, however they were confident that they would arrive before the weekend. The second pair actually showed up along with the first pair I ordered (48 hours later). Very professional, helpful, and quick service. I would definitely recommend this shop to anyone.

Definitely recommend this place. The staff is very friendly and extremely helpful. Top notch customer service. They will go above and beyond of whatever you ask them. I was there just to buy grip tape. They offered applying it for me and also readjusting my wheels and trucks, all of that at no additional cost.

The staff was amazingly attentive, even when the shop was crowded. They offered me the most inexpensive option (fixing my existing board) before showing me brand new boards. The vibe is friendly fellow skateboarders wanting to help everyone have the best riding experience possible. Good prices too.

This place is awesome. Really nice and knowledgeable owners/employees, and very helpful. Needed new bearings on a skateboard, and they installed them for in just a few minutes. They have a beautiful selection of boards of all kinds, as well as clothing, swimsuits, and accessories for all of your boarding needs. The selection of womens swimsuits here is awesome, they are all super cute!

Shopper beware: they dont allow returns. You can either get store credit, or exchange the item. This is stated on their recipe, but I didnt notice, because I dont tend to read the fine print of recipes. I bought something I ended up not liking, and wanted my money back. Instead I now have store credit at a shop that doesnt really sell anything I want. Its legal, but doesnt seem like a great policy.

Live out of state now but everytime Im back I always come here great store with great stuff.

I wish I could remember who helped me, but he was incredibly patient and understanding. I came in a few weeks ago with a Walmart board I got for $15 at Play-It-Again Sports. Plastic wheels, trucks, the works. Dreadful. I wanted to pick up skateboarding again but I was obviously not doing well on the cheap gear. FreeRide set me up with some standard trucks, wheels, and bearings, and even showed me how to install them. I kept the cheap board and the guy helping me said I could eventually either switch it out and keep the gear or he would show me how to sand it down and put on new grip tape.Having the new gear increased my confidence 100%. I started taking the board out on the paved trails with a friend and now I can say that I skateboard better than I did when I was younger. I feel empowered, I feel strong, I feel skilled, I feel courageous. I came into FreeRide feeling like a newb and left knowing that I could do this. Thanks guys, you’re awesome.

Great atmosphere and the staff is helpful, only problem is they have a limited stock but thats one of the caveats of being a local none chain store.

Bought a wetsuit and had to return it a few days later due to the fact that there was a problem with my student loans. The owner refused to return it even with tags intact. Their return policy was never told to me and was only visible on their receipt, which doesnt do you any good because you have already bought the item. To make matters worse, I found out that when I bought the wetsuit initially, the guy forgot to give me the 30 percent discount that were supposed to be applied to wetsuits. With that being said, great job by that employee for catching the mistake.

I was about to drive to Destin to look at Both SUPs when I found out that Freeride was a Bote dealer. The shop was clean and well organized and the staff very knowledgeable about Bote products. I was able to order the exact board I wanted and saved $70 in shipping by having it ordered and delivered through Freeride. The SUP arrived two days after the order and they went over all the details on the SUP. Their customer service far exceeded my expectations.
