I purchased a car solely over the phone. I found one online that I liked and the process was very smooth. My car was delivered the very next day and they picked up my trade-in as well. I had two issues, that were somewhat minor, with the vehicle. There was an issue with the radio that has not been 100% resolved to my satisfaction but I have found an alternative that I am satisfied with. There was also an issue with the glovebox that I think I have fixed myself. I have only had the vehicle for 4 days at this point but am hopeful that everything will continue to go well with it.
Awesome car buying experience. We worked with Raul who was very pleasant, knowledgeable and professional during the entire process. We were definitely treated like valued customers. Highly recommend.
Great place to buy a car. The sales team is extremely knowledgeable and very easy to work with. I never felt pressured or like they were selling me something. Hannah and Tony were great to work with. I drove from St Augustine just to make a deal with this team and would do it again.
Raul was a great salesman and Matt in finance was awesome thank you guys for working on a deal with my wife 100/10 recommended very respectful and nice people
Its been a month and 2 weeks since my wonderful experience with this service department and I still have ZERO resolution. If you can avoid it DO NOT bring your car here. Now I find myself having to make another trip and since the car is still without service I will have to bring it in again. I was expecting to have this resolved by now but this is the kind of place that clearly doesnt give a sh*t!
Went there ready to sell my used vehicle and upgrade, however after waiting over 30min., I get seen by the individual that called me asking to look at my used car due to car shortages and he tells me to drive up to see. Well, again, I wait over 20 min while he is just chatting and wakkiy anywhere but where I was. I just decided to leave and take my business elsewhere. The nicest and only person that was courteous and tried to get me seen was the nice woman at the service desk. Yall she give here some of your commission, because clearly you all dont need the sale.
As always, Chris Muthig in the service department went far beyond my expectations to explain my options and warranty coverage, schedule me at my convenience, and then offer the kindest welcome and in-person service. This guy is ultra conscientious and a gem. We own a Touareg and a Tiguan and will only bring them here because of Chris and his stellar customer service.
STAY AWAY!!! Unless you want your car destroyed by their service department.I brought my car in for an oil change and an alignment. I had to bring my car back in because the oil pressure warning was coming on and the check engine light and the car went into limp mode 3 times all of a sudden after. Thought I might have to have it towed in it was driving so bad. Once they put oil in my car magically everything returned to normal... amazing what having oil in the car does. Only got lies and excuses as to why the oil level was where it was at instead of taking responsibility. After challenging the nonsensical responses, I finally got an admission that it may have been missed. It absolutely was missed. I have had zero problems before or since and there certainly is no leak and the mechanic also verified that. Paid 70 dollars for an oil change they never did, did not even offer to reimburse me or do a thing to make it right. Pictures include the oil pressure warning while driving and the low washer fluid light that came on just after the oil change showing they didnt top off my fluids since, come to find out, they didnt in fact, change the oil.
Buyer Beware Horrible Service!I have purchased several VWs from this dealer over the past 10 years. My most recent purchase was a 2020 WW Passat and will be my last vehicle from this specific VW Dealership as a direct result of their Sales Manager Bree Vandal making sales promises she did not keep ad being extremely unprofessional. The entire purchase process was rushed and I was promised certain things just to close the deal so they could met theirend of month sales quota. When I purchased my vehicle and left the lot there 4 miles on it. The entire process was rushed and not very customer service friendly. I was just a sale to them. They did not wash my car, fill it up with gas, the interior had a sticky substance all over it and the doors did not come with the door edge protectors that claim come with all new purchase. As a result I immediately left a Google review explaining my situation at that that time. If there was an option to leave less than a one star rating I would have. This is a second continuation review to update the multiple issues I have had with VW of Gainesville. As a reminder, my car is a 2020 VW Passat that had 4 miles when I left the lot. The first week I had the car, I was getting an error message on the screen that said no Antenna. I contacted VW and was told that these things sometimes happen told to simply shut my car off twice so it could reset itself.I next had an issue where my main screen went blank and I could not control any features of my vehicle; Radio, Apple Car Play....etc.I understand that these things happen even with new cars and things can be faulty. The expectation is that the Dealership you have put your trust in to purchase a vehicle should stand behind their product and go above and beyond to remedy the situation. With thats said, I insisted in bringing my car in to be seen by a mechanic. I had to wait 3 weeks for their soonest appointment; yes.....3 weeks with no use of the options of my screen which was a safety issue. When I finally brought the car in and waited over 8 hours and missed a day of work, I was told they needed to order a new antenna harness and I would to return with the vehicle at their next available appointment 3 weeks later.I patiently wait and return to the VW of Gainesville for the repair(s) to be made. During this time, I mentioned to the mechanic that I heard a weird grinding noise on my steering column. After being at the Dealership since 8 in the morning, I was told at 4pm that they would need to order a part for my steering column and it would be a few days and that I would not leave with the vehicle. The option given to me was to rent a vehicle from Hertz Rental across the street at $25 a day. When I caused a fuss about having to pay for a rental when warranty repairs were being made on a new vehicle, they decided to waive the rental fee.I was told that the door edge protectors were not part of the package I bought and I had to friendly remind them that this was an option they offered on all of their new vehicles and showed the a pamphlet that came with my service manual.4 days later, only after I called them, they told me the wrong part came in and it would be another 2 days before they could get the part. My Service Advisor was Chris Muthig and he was not knowledgable about much.I went in to finally get my vehicle today the car was filthy and I noticed that the leather steering wheel was damaged / cut. When I called back to speak with the Sales manager, Bree Vandal, I was told she was unavailable to speak with me. Because she had ben short with me in the past when I spoke with her about my issues, I asked to speak with the General Manager and I was told by someone by the name of Hannah; we have been in between general managers for a while now and do not have one.Buy from another dealer and save yourself some heartache and lost time. VW of Gainesville has lost zero customer service and lost me as a customer. They were once Excellent but have lost me a a lifetime customer.
Their service department is top-notch. David kept me posted and took excellent care of me.Considering my Recent experience as an employee / customer At a Volkswagen dealership And was treated terribly When I needed to have my vehicle serviced. I recommend everyone from Ocala and the surrounding areas to go there for anything VDub!
Dont take your car here. Dont buy from here. Service department staff other than frong desk staff is sketch and extremely rude. Ive had my car repaired here 4 times over 4 years and the issue always comes back or isnt fixed. Over charge, under deliver. I had to wait 2 weeks to have my tires replaced, ac stopped working immediately after buying the car and they didnt try to fix it. After buying the car, they say they give free car washes but deny me when I ask to go back, or stop me from using the machine. I mean I have horror stories. The absolute worst part is they dont rectify their mistakes. Take your business elsewhere.
Do not go to this service department if your car is under CPO warranty. I’ve gone to this dealership multiple times and each time I’ve been disappointed and felt ripped off with what they ended up charging me in the end. Their explanations of the labor charges and the so-called “necessary” repairs verge on dishonesty.
Atrocious customer service. I set an appointment using their online scheduler for 5:20pm, as it allows me to. This is the earliest I can get to the dealership because, as with everyone else, I have a job and can’t leave at the drop of a pin for my personal needs. Upon arrival, before I can even say hello, I am met with “We close at 6.”Immediately this would make anyone feel like I am the inconvenience. What’s inconveniencing is being told that they cannot assist me and I have to drive my flat tire back home just to take it back the next day and they can “stay late and squeeze me in”.For a business that is so dependent on customer loyalty and word of mouth, this is a supremely disappointing approach to someone who has given a fair amount of business to them.I would suggest not allowing your scheduling program to set an appointment at that hour if your employees are so eager to close up shop right at closing time. Or take the whole thing down if I am going to be told that I should have called ahead anyways.Overall experience: frustrating, inconvenienced, disappointing, and tarnished my trust in VW Gainesville.
Dropped my car off for an expensive diagnosis which should’ve taken max two days but took a week to just get my car back. Then took over 2-3 weeks and many many calls to just get the report of what was wrong with my car and all I got was a handwritten piece of paper by the mechanic because in 3 weeks he “didn’t have time to input the issues into the system” so he was rushed to write it on paper and I still haven’t even gotten the official one which i paid $165 for. They also told me they changed some recalls bc of the warranty and when i go pick up the car they didn’t “because they had to order it and that they’ll call me to bring the car in again” and they never did. The service lady Nicole that checked in my car was nice in person but then never replied ny messages even tho she was the one who told me to contact her through there and everytime i called she was nowhere to be found or “would leave for the day even when she told me she would call me back. She didn’t even warn me before she even left. Definitely would not be taking my car here again. If you have a choice take it anywhere else!!!!
On September 15, 2020, my wife and I were in the market for a used truck, and we had a purchase price limit like most people to keep us in a manageable payment. The day was discouraging and depressing, there weren’t very many trucks that were in our price range, and we were thinking about calling it quits on the purchase for the time. I had contacted Volkswagen of Gainesville regarding an online id for a 2015 GMC Sierra 1500 2WD, and the price was within are budget the only thing that was discouraging was the fact the truck had 109,000 miles. Now I was coming into this with a loan already on my 2017 Honda Civic (49,900 miles). I was contacted by Ron at the dealership about us coming in to look at the truck, and we thought about going in to see the truck. I was looking on the dealerships website and noticed that they charge an $899 dealership fee. I usually take my business to a used dealership in my area, and was planning on doing so this time too. The dealership I normal go didn’t have any trucks in my price range, and I was once again discouraged about this process. At around 4:15, I received a call from the front desk person Hannah Chayka, and she asked me if we were planning on coming by to see the truck today. I informed her that I was not coming to see the truck because of the dealership fee, and that I would be taking my business back to the other car dealership. Hannah informed me that they may be able to work out a deal when it comes to the dealership fee, and that she would let Bree Vandal know about the situation. Hannah also proceeded to bad mouth the other dealership, and stated “that dealership doesn’t even inspect their truck like we do here.”At around 5:30, I received a call from the sales manager Bree Vandal, and she asked me what my issue with the truck was and how she could help. I explained to her that I was no okay paying a $900 dealership fee, and I would not take any less than 14,000 for my trade in. Bree Vandal’s statement to me was “what can I do to get your business.” I told her if she could do those things we would come see the truck, and in the conversation I was informed that the truck had 2 new tires and a 198 point inspection. At around 6:45, my wife and I pulled into the car dealership with my 2017 Honda Civic in tow, and we were greeted by Brennan Rowe who was going to take over the sale of the truck. At the time of us arriving at the dealership it was dusk outside, and we were trying to look at the truck to see what we could. Brennan took us for a short ride in the truck, and we returned to the dealership. The manager Bree had looked over my trade in, and was offering us 15,000 for the Honda, and my wife and I took a moment to discuss the purchase. We were at the dealership until 9:00pm that night, and we had to be driven down to another car lot to finish the paperwork on the truck.Willie was the financial guy at the other car lot, and we were there waiting for him to present several warranties and other add on’s. My wife and I was in agreement that we didn’t want to purchase the warranty because we would still be responsible for 60% of the price of the repairs even with the warranty, and Willie continued to push us about paying for a warranty, gap, and lifetime of service on the truck. After continuously telling him no, we finally got to the paperwork, and we were able to get out of the dealership. So it is now 9:20 at night, my wife and I have just pulled out of the car dealership with our used truck, and proceed to our home which is 40 minutes away. I had made it 5 miles down the road, and the check engine light on the truck comes on. My wife and I pick up our cellphone and contact Brennan, and was informed that we could take the truck back in tomorrow for the service team to look at.The attached picture is the air filter that I replaced myself last night 09/22/20. After taking my truck up to the dealership for the 4th time since purchasing it on 9/15/20.
When I go to the dealership, I am typically working with Matthew. The level of costumer service is always great! I just got my oil changed. For someone who works full-time during the week as well, it is normally a stressful experience to schedule into your day. From finding a ride, to anticipating a wait when you arrive, etc. Volkswagen called an Uber directly to my workplace free of charge. My car was ready when I was there and was able to be out very quickly. After leaving, I received a follow-up text to go over any concerns or questions I may have had. Thankfully, I did not have any. Matthew is always a pleasure to work with and very knowledgeable!
Dear I am contacting you to make sure that you are completely satisfied. If you have experienced any issues. Please text us back and we will do everything in our power to gain your complete satisfaction. Yours, Christopher Muthig Volkswagen of GainesvilleVolkswagen of Gainesville*** Chris went above and beyond to make my situation easiest as possible, he was so Polite and Very Informative through the whole day of having my car service from the very beginning all the way to the end. I am satisfied. Anyone who is looking for a life long car company to become part of your family you should definitely choose Volkswagen of Gainesville!!!!
I had the worst experience at this Volkswagen ever! I took my car in for a scheduled service at 10:45 am and took a complimentary Uber back home. I waited all day and at 3:00pm I finally texted the service advisor Nicole Romero for status to which she lazily replied it was being looked at. I sent her a response right back and asked for an ETA and she never responded. Called again around 4:30 and spoke to someone named Chris who advised he couldn’t find her anywhere but would give her my message. 5:45pm came around and still no word from this woman. Called back and finally was told that she left for the day. So my car was basically being held hostage in the service department with NO COMMUNICATION! ZERO! from this woman. Thankfully the gentleman named Chris was able to leave one of the salespeople access to the garage so that I could get my car. The really messed up part is that NICOLE ROMERO was told when the car was brought in that I had to drive down to Ft Lauderdale tomorrow for a weekend trip. And she left without as little as a courtesy call so that I would come pick up the car while the department was still open. I dont know who hired this woman but that’s a bad call right there! Totally unprofessional. Lost my service and a car purchase which I’ve been looking into since there is the zero percent apr for 72 months deal happening. Oh and the real kicker of all of this is that no service was actually performed on my car. This service department is a joke.
Extremely overpriced repairs if you are paying for them.
When I walked in, everything was pretty good. Matt Tie was the service representative, and he was great to me. The problem was that I walked in the door at 10:02 a.m. and walked out at 2:53 p.m. for an oil change. Incredibly ridiculous. If I wanted to spend five hours for an oil change, I’d have just done it myself. I was told that the mechanics read, “Have it done by 12:30,” as “Have it done by 2:30.” This is an honest mistake — I get that. But five hours? Insanely inconsiderate and disrespectful of the customer’s time. The only reason I even gave it two stars was because of how great Matt was. But I can unequivocally say I never plan to go there again. Smarter to drive all the way down to Ocala.
A waste of time and money it was nothing more than a parking spot in the dealership garage. I was charged $778.00 for two test rides in my own car to show me that after five hours of waiting that nothing had been repaired. After the wheels had been rotated and balanced twice I could see they had been returned to the original locations. The print out for the four wheel alignment clearly shows the before and after results which are worse then when I arrived. Not once did a mechanic offer any information about progress or solutions for the needed repairs. They couldnt care less about a customers vehicle or the quality of their work.
This week I had a great experience bringing my car in for service and worked with my service advisor Matthew Tie.He was great when it came to communicating to me about the service of my car and was very flexible and willing to create a socially distanced pick up and drop off. He was very willing to spend the time answering all of my questions on the phone which takes more time that what would typically be done in person. Great addition to the service department!
Terrible service, and the most expensive services in Gainesville. The worst part is they’re not upfront to your face. They charged me almost $800, had the car for almost a week and didn’t even fix the car. I had to take my car to another shop. My car was fixed for $300 in less than 3 days. Volkswagen wanted to charge me an addition $330 just to check the car again. That’s absurd, I’ll make sure everyone I know and don’t know don’t ever go there! Terrible service, save your money and time and take your cars somewhere else!!
Took my car in Wednesday the key would not turn off told me to wait it would be fixed in 2 hours at 6 pm they told me they did not have the parts and the car was not drive able but would be ready Saturday. Called for several times Saturday before I could reach someone who said the part would not be available till Tuesday they never notified me and probably forgot to order the part. 2 hours has turned into a week they did not even offer to loan me a car. The service here is horrendous I no longer have my car serviced at VW unless it is a warranty repair.
The absolute worst service anywhere! We own a VW Sportwagen with a 2.0L diesel engine. After it started experiencing a slow starting problem we brought it in for service to remedy the situation.Let me make a long story short. After bringing and leaving the car on three separate occasions, totaling SEVEN FULL WEEKS, (all under warranty), they couldnt solve the problem and literally gave up, blaming us for using bad fuel! I came to this site and put in a message to the General Manager concerning the problem and he never even bothered to contact us back or have his Service Manager contact us.Working through VW of America we took the vehicle to a different VW dealership in St. Augustine. After speaking in person to the Service Manager and a technician, we left the vehicle. In two days they called us and informed that they found the problem, a bad starter! I strongly disagreed the diagnosis was accurate but did allow them to perform the repair. Problem solved!I strongly recommend anyone considering coming here to rethink your decision. There is a far better VW dealership not far away.
Great, friendly and helpful service center, Chris and Nicole are the best.
Purchased a van couple weeks ago. Sales rep hopped in the back and told us where to drive like a 3 minute at 35 mph test drive. Car broke down halfway home then 2 additional times within a week. They told us to get it to the nearest dealer to get it fixed. Once they found out it was a blown head and a bad radiator they towed the van back to Gainesville and told me deals off. The guy in the finance department ( the one you sign all the docks for financing) even after we had financing through vistar and owned the van and have a contract.
This is not an honest company. They tell you a price to change oil and rotate tires and then have tell you there is a fee for cleaning rags after the job is done.... What you charge people for cleaning rags??? Dave at the service desk was really nasty and would not let me talk with a manager. I wouldnt use them, they also charge me a fee for parts on the tire rotation last time I rotated a tire there are no parts involved.
I usually am pretty flexible about my reviews and can let go a lot of things when it comes to car buying as I totally understand that every dealership has a business to run and they try their best to satisfy the needs of the customer. I also don’t write reviews in excitement and take my time so that I have proper knowledge about the problem. This dealership by par is below standards. Sometimes it’s hard to decide whether people complain more about German cars or whether their issues are not properly resolved by individuals selling them. I’ve had such great experience myself. I purchased a so called Certified Pre Owned (CPO) from them. I researched about CPOs before buying it and to my surprise this CPO doesn’t match any of the industry standards. Within a month I had to replace my battery as it died and within two months I had to replace couple of tires as the work performed from a previous flat was not repaired properly and tires were well below standards of any CPO I’ve driven at dealerships. I was recommended here by a friend that was the only reason I came to this dealership. I made a deal at a dealership which offered same model year vehicle and were a little expensive but their quality of cars were much to the CPOs standard. So far I’ve put nearly 4 months of car payments in wear and tear repairs which this dealership should be ashamed of selling it as a CPO. Please beware of them and save your hard earned money. VW are nice cars but you need to buy from a good reputed dealership that has atleast 4 plus stars and who stand besides their cars and work. This dealership is a total shame and waste of time, money and efforts.
Well I had an appointment with Volkswagen of Ocala, I work night shifts so after about 4 hours of sleep I get there to have a scheduled maintenance done, and I’m not in the system, So being I have a warranty that I can’t afford to lose, I call Volkswagen of Gainesville,,, AND David Shoenberger, says they are all booked up, but if I come in and wait they can try and squeeze me in, he was wonderful in understanding my situation and after a minimal wait and ORDERING PARTS, I was in and out!!! THANK YOU VOLKSWAGEN OF GAINESVILLE, I can guarantee you when I purchase my wife’s car, it will not be in ocala🤠
Had a great car buying experience with VW of Gainesville. Friendly and knowledgeable staff, took what I thought would be a stressful process and made it easy and unforgettable. No pressure, great communication. Big thanks to Hannah for being an outstanding saleswoman. Best dealership in Gainesville!
I closed a deal on a 2015 Jetta with Dwayne Lyons. It was my first car buying experience and he really took the time to explain the details and go through the different possibilities that best suited my needs. He really helped make a stressful situation feel much easier. I would recommend this dealer and especially Dwayne to anyone!
There is a new GM with great customer service.
Service department is great! My man Ryan helps me keep my car up to date on its service schedule without adding a bunch of unnecessary stuff like the dealership I used in South Florida would always do. They always do a good job!
I am really impressed with the professional, friendly, and down to earth staff here. The atmosphere does not feel like the typical dealership. The employees truly seem to like each other and like where they work. Nick took great care of us. Everyone from the GM to the front desk were great. They know how to treat a customer and bend over backwards to get you into the car you want. Was most impressed with the amount of time and effort I put them through, and they did it all with a smile. I highly recommend them.
I wish I could give zero stars. Worst service ever. The sales guy named Philip doesn’t know how to talkto his customers. I took the test drive of Camry and after that he clearly said if you wanna buy the car then only you can enter the showroom. That was so rude. He wouldn’t tell me the final price of the car. He treated me like some kind of beggar. These people didn’t have the courtesy to show me some other car and were talking to me like I am asking the car for free. I plan to raise this issue to higher authorities and will be lodging a complaint soon.
On multiple occasions I’ve trusted the service department to take care of my vehicle, my last trip was no exception. In my line of work my car is usually my office so having it properly maintained is a must. I’ve always been warmly greeted, acknowledged and my car serviced in a timely manner. I would definitely recommend their service department. I also appreciated the time Ryan took to explain in detail and properly answer my questions regarding additional upkeep need on my car.
Amazing service, always extremely helpful. The best VW dealership I’ve ever dealt with. They’re very prompt and give you a step by step rundown of what they’ll do if you’re taking your car to service. Very helpful with sales, but not pushy which is nice.
I wanted to submit a review specifically about a salesperson named Chelsea. She was AMAZING! She went above and beyond to help me look for a vehicle. She would take videos of cars and send them to me so that I could look at cars without having to drive a distance to the dealership. Even though ultimately my family couldn’t find a car we liked enough on the lot, I appreciated her diligence and friendliness and hard work. To Volkswagen: you have a GEM with Chelsea! I’d recommend her to anyone! Thanks so much Chelsea :)
This is the third 2020 car I’ve leased from VW of Gainesville this month alone. I have been a long term repeat customer over the years; purchasing and leasing several vehicles. I traded my 2017 Passat to upgrade to a “safer” 2020 Passat. My sole reason for the trade was for safety reasons since I was involved in a tragic auto accident a few years ago that left me with some serious PTSD effects when it comes to driving. During my last purchase, I was leased a vehicle that I consider to be defective directly from the VW distributor. It is equipped with with a safety feature called Car Net that does not work. I was told that it was shipped from the factory without the proper software update in order for this safety feature (Car Net) to work. It was never disclosed to me that this was a known issue until I had already signed my paper-work and had to call the dealer on multiple occasions. I feel that I was deceived just to make a sale. I was then called in to the dealership to have this software update only after I left an honest not so good review on their site. I sat there for 2 hours before I was told that they could not update the software because they “could not get the computer to communicate with VW”. Total waste of my time. I contacted Car Net themselves who said that an update would not be available until the end of the year but could not promise that time frame. It would be nice to have the Sales Manager Call me and offer me a deduction in payment since I didn’t receive one of the features the vehicle was supposed to come with but did not. I would even consider exchanging vehicles for one that had this Car Net feature. Until then, I will take my business elsewhere and leave this one star rating. Buyer beware!
My husband and I found a 2011 Jeep Wrangler with a long list of upgrades at a very reasonable price at VW of Gainesville. We live in Jacksonville, FL about 45 minutes away. The Jeep was something my husband had wanted for along time and he was extremely excited.Unfortunately, there were some minor issues with the Jeep. There were a few trips back and forth to Gainesville to get the Jeep fixed. Paul, the Manager of the Dealership, and Matthew, the Service Manager, were amazing through the entire process. In fact, we were offered a loaner car for each time the Jeep went into the shop, they delivered the fixed Jeep on one occasion, and they truly went above and beyond on helping get the Jeep to solid running condition. They fixed every ailment the car had for over a month after we bought the vehicle.I was offered just about any option I could have asked for regarding the Jeep. I could choose another vehicle off the lot, we could continue to fix the Jeep at the dealers expense, or we could wait to find another vehicle if there wasnt one we wanted on the lot. What you have to understand is that my husband loves this Jeep. Through the whole process, Paul was most concerned that Trey would get something that he loved as much as the Jeep OR he would commit to getting the Jeep to run as it should. In the end, after a handful of new parts, a new set of tires, and a good relationship with the entire dealership team, we decided to keep the Jeep. We are satisfied with the purchase overall. I was really impressed with the dealership and the lengths they went to make things right for us. Truly impressive service!
The salesman Dewayne was very polite, and helpful. However the entire experience was exhausting to say the least. I was helping my daughter purchase a car while I was in town. Towards the end of the deal, about 5 hours in, the dealership started the ( we will wear you out process), like interviewing a witness until they just give up.For example to wash the car took 4 hours. Anyway, when we went to sign the final papers the finance guy was pushy, intimidating, aggressive and ruined my experience. If I hadnt been with my daughter I would have abruptly left. My overall experience was too long and too sketchy and I received add ons I did not want. Overall I would not recommend this dealership.
I ordered a new key from them on 1-4-2019. When I called today to find out the status of it, I get switched to 3 different people before I find someone that tells me they have no record of it. When I tell them who I dealt with I am told that he no longer works there and they are getting around to his paperwork. I just wanted a key, not excuses. This is the most poorly run service department i have ever seen. and when i said I should go somewhere else the Service Manager was fine with it, like fixing my issue really does not matter to him. No sense of customer service and really no sense of making a customer happy. I would never purchase a car from here or recommend this dealer to anyone. If their sales is anything like their service, you will be in for a long, excuse laden day. Terrible. Terrible. Terrible. I had to give them 1 star because 0 stars was not available.
Very professional business. They’re kind to their customers and know what they’re doing. Ryan (the manager) is extremely knowledgeable, personable, helpful, professional and very easy to talk to! I highly recommend!
My sales rep was Brennan Rowe. She worked hard to get me a good deal and was pretty legit. Great experience. One of the managers tried to get greedy at the last minute and told me I couldnt use my financing to get the deal. I would recommend this place to anyone, but dont let them tell you what youre going to pay or whos doing the financing. After all, its my debt.
This was my best car buying experience yet. Nick Bowers and Nathan Foreman are great salesmen. Woody Ocain was an honest Finance Manager...I generally dislike F and I but hes made me change my opinion on them. I got a great deal on a great car.
Excellent New Service Management - I went to the store today and realized they have a new service manager. He is a down-to-earth and very professional person. He diagnosed the issue with my car in less than a minute and helped me to understand the problem with my car. Politely, he explained to me the charges in my invoice and assisted me to apply the applicable discounts offered by Volkswagen. I believe Volkswagen Gainesville is moving in the right direction.
All-around exceptional customer service! Everyone in the dealership is super friendly and welcoming, and Kelly and Misty from the service department are always as sweet as can be and very accommodating. My services are always taken care of in a timely fashion, and have always exceeded my expectations!
Do not buy here do not get repairs here. Try lake city if you really want these cars avoid Gainesville.Bought a 2016 grey vw. Did find some issues but with the bumper to bumper warranty some were fixed leaky seal on door. Bad monitor. Broken latch for cup holder. Seems like one thing after the other keeps going wrong.However. Due to it being an outside force a lock button was not replaced. The lock unlock button fell in the door. This cost 350 to fix. The reason it was deemed outside force was due to nothing broken or needing replacement. So basically I was told it was pushed just right to fall into the door without breaking anything. So warranty would not cover.Trading it in for a Toyota as soon as possible. Car has less than forty thousand miles. My oldest car was 2010 prius with 189000 miles that cost me less money in repairs than this garbage
I had a great experience recently buying a car from Volkswagen of Gainesville. Ben Blake and Tony Turner delivered outstanding customer service. They found me exactly what I was looking for, in exactly the price range I wanted. They were very up front about costs and at no point did I feel like I was being swindled (which is exactly how I feel in most car buying situations). I am very happy with the outcome and highly recommend the dealership. :)
I came in and the experience was very professional and quick. I felt like Anthony dealt with me very well and is a very personable guy. I actually went to multiple dealerships and Anthony by far treated me the best. Nick also was extremely helpful and friendly as well. All in all Im happy I went with VW!
We went in this weekend to potentially look at trading in one of our cars. We worked with Nathan Foreman and he spent so much time going over what the best option for us would be, what our long term goals were, and the whole time his main focus was on making us happy. We never felt pushed into buying anything, we never felt like we were getting taken advantage of, and we definitely felt like his top priority was what we wanted, not just making the sale. We spent lots of time talking through which car wed like to get, and he went through every option with us. We ended up buying two cars because they got us awesome deals, and their warranties are so great it was a no brainer. Nathan worked with us picking the cars, and then Derek and Scott helped us get the best deal on those cars. They worked to get us the best deal we could get. We have two new cars that we love, and also know exactly where well be buying cars from now on! Not to mention, well be sending all of our friends in that direction as well. Thanks Volkswagen of Gainesville, Nathan, Scott and Derek!!
I’ve never had fun buying a car before, but Sara was a pleasure to work with and I had a great time! She was very easygoing, genuinely wanted me to find a car I liked, and was super helpful! I will definitely be recommending Sara to all my friends! Thanks!Jessica
From the moment I got a phone call from Chris, I felt like I had chosen the right dealership. As soon as I walked inside, everyone was courteous, kind, friendly and had a big smile on their face like they wanted to see me there. Chris gave me all the information I wanted and got me into exactly the car I wanted. With help from Tony and David, they put me in the right car with an excellent price. They all worked together in order to see me walking out of there as a satisfied customer, which I was. I was so excited I couldnt even sleep after the night was said and done. Spectacular team effort and this was the best experience Ive ever had at a dealership! I look forward to coming back many times for routine maintenance and getting to meet even more wonderful people! I felt right at home! Absolutely would recommend this dealer for anyone looking for friendly service that wants to get you on the perfect car for you!
I love my car I purchased from VW of Gainesville. The sales and financial personal are great. But the service department has a LOT to be desired. I took my car in over a month ago ( a week after purchasing my vehicle) because of some issues, they told me they would order the parts and call me to bring it back in. Needless to say I have called 6 times to find out about it and 6 times they said they would find out and call me back, I have still not heard from anyone. Like I said it’s been a month I have been trying to get my vehicle fixed I also bought the extra warranty.
I always enjoy my service trips to Volkswagen as the Customer Service Representatives Branden Holmes and Misty Melvin are very friendly and helpful professionals who are eager to give good advise. Thank you to both! FIVE STARS for Branden and Misty. Also appreciate the shuttle service very much. Thank you to Bob and now Chris. FIVE STARS.Not happy about the switch from paper to foam coffee cups. Reusable cups would be great for customers who consume coffee in store. ZERO STARS.Thank you for your service - FOUR+ STARS :) !
There is a saying Quality Matters. That saying applies to Volkswagen of Gainesville. The shop provides excellent atmosphere, very respectable and friendly staff, and the best of all excellent care to your car. They honestly inform you of any potential problems to your car and the staff will work hard with you to provide the best discount ever. In my last visit, I went with a coupon of $100 for certain car works and the staff charged me $87 as they had a better coupon. I was impressed with their honestly and dedication to customer service. I strongly believe that people at the Volkswagen of Gainesville strive for high standards and they work hard to achieve them. This is a reflection of a healthy corporate culture and excellent management.
Horrible!! Run away. Negotiated pricing on a car they sell it before I had a chance to get out of work as a health care provider to someone else without even a heads up. Went to corporate VW to file complaint. Looks like from reviews I’m not the only victim of their terrible sales force.
I am going with 5 Stars on his most recent visit to the Volkswagen service dept. David was kind, efficient and followed thru on his word in a very timely manner. We will definitely use VW of Gainesville again if the need should arise. Thank you David Shoenberger.
I had an great time here with JIMMIE, hes an very GREAT salesman he will work his best to get you in the car you are looking for . hes veryyyy nice great conversation hes GREAT with kids as well !! Best dealer in gainesville!
Complete waste of time.I made an appointment at 7:30AM for an oil change and there was 1 other guy waiting as well. The service advisor named Tracy greeted me with a monotone hey how are you and informed me that their service technicians don’t get there until 8am. What??? Why would they allow appointments before 8am if they can’t even accommodate them. I was a little annoyed. I finished the paperwork around 7:50 and sat in the waiting area.Another vehicle comes through about 10 minutes later and their car and the other guy’s car (who was there the same time I was) go in the shop before mine. I was confused and I gave them the benefit of the doubt and kept my mouth shut.About an hour goes by and my car is still sitting in the drive untouched. I noticed more people starting to come in for service appointments and they were getting extremely busy. I went ahead and asked Tracy why my car hasn’t been moved yet and he tells me that the lube guy is pulling out another vehicle and he will get mine in. It doesn’t take 1 hour to move somebody’s vehicle especially if I was the first car to come in for an oil change.Moral of the story is they don’t value your time for a “small” service like an oil change since it doesn’t bring in much revenue. Tracy obviously didn’t want to be there at 7:30 am and he definitely needed some assistance once all those customers started piling up in front of their desk waiting to be checked in.I finally gave up staring at my car in the drive at 9 AM and talked to the front receptionist (instead of Tracy/service manager was no where to be found) and she wrote down my information. Please find this review as a warning to all potential customers that if you value your time, don’t come to this place.
Ever since they changed ownership/management couple of years ago I feel their customer care has gone downhill. Some of the service agents are fantastic but front desk and waiting area experience have gone down considerably.
Fantastic folks there! From the sales person (Victor) to management (Tony) to financing (Chris). Victor was patient with my inability to make a quick decision on which car I wanted to purchase. Once I made a decision, he kept me informed during the process. All individuals are personable. Would I go back? Yep. Would I recommend this place? Yep.
Wanted to share how great VW of Gainesville really is. My wife and I recently bought a used vehicle from them a few weeks ago. First we dealt with Ahmed, who was just awesome. Very friendly and never felt pressured to make any decision right away. Definitely see him if you visit this dealership.A week after we bought the vehicle, the battery died. We took it back and dealt with Amber at the service department and explained what happened after just a week, they replaced the battery with a new one for FREE. Then two days after this, one of the car door handles came right OFF when I tried to open the door. I called Amber again, she told us bring it in. They fixed the door handle, again for FREE.I cant explain how grateful my wife and I were for the great customer service. They were all very friendly and understanding the whole time. I highly recommend this dealership and theyve more than earned our future business for going above and beyond.
I had the BEST experience at VW of Gainesville when I purchased my car two years ago and have had exceptional service ever since! There were no aggressive sales tactics, pressure or up-selling during my purchase. I knew what I wanted and they were more than willing to accommodate. I got exactly what I wanted at a better deal than I expected. Misty in the service department is top notch! She always goes above and beyond to make sure her clients are happy! Normally, Id never take a car to the dealer for service, but this dealership has been nothing but fair, honest, and efficient! I feel like family every time I walk in the door!
Before buying a car from Volkswagen, I visited several dealerships that did not gave any attention to the customer (me). When I first went to the Volkswagen dealership with my father, every person greeted us and asked us if we wanted anything to eat/drink while we waited to test the car. The salesman was really attentive and always answered his phone when I had a question regarding the car. It was the first car my father purchased for me, and he will never forget how good everyone at the dealership was. I really like how professional everyone at the dealership is.
I went to the Gainesville Volkswagen after a horrible service experience with my hometown dealership, the Gainesville team blew me away! Misty was incredibly helpful and insightful, they will be my new go-to repair/service site! Will definitely recommend this dealership to others in the future, glad to see honest people in the car business!
The service staff is very attentive. Branden called to say our vehicle was ready ahead of schedule. Their drop-off service is also nice when you dont have someone to drive you home. Im glad they have their own free-standing dealership now. Cant wait for the new all-electric e-Golf to be available in FL.
Just want to say how helpful and determined my salesmen was to getting me into what I wanted. Shout out to you Anthony! Working with my limited down payment. He got me the car a wanted for a price I could afford. When I was turn down everywhere else Volkswagen of Gainesville gave me a chance. Thank you!
Service department is terrible here! Dropped my car off at 10am for a 60k service and wheel alignment. Left the service place and came back at 1pm and car still wasn’t ready. By 3pm after sitting I saw my car was finally outside of service department. No one called me and told me it was done. When they told me the charges I noticed they didn’t do the wheel alignment that I had scheduled for online. Their response was “Well did you tell us about it when you checked in?” Honestly if I need to tell you what services I scheduled for online why do you allow online scheduling. I even showed them what services were due in my email confirmation. In addition they stated they called me to ask me about services but my phone was on all day and I never got a call or voicemail. So if you want to waste your day and talk to people who look and sound like they are clueless then by all means this is the place.
Excellent customer service by Phillip. Will definitely be returning customers.
Terrible service especially the service department dropped my car off for repairs Christopher offered me a rental car option for $25 a day with Hertz at their expense after dropping rental car off Christopher asked for my credit card to charge me for something he told me they would pay for VERY DISLOYAL AND NOTHING ABOUT HIM IS HONESTY BUT I HAVE SAVED EMAILS AND TEXT I WILL BE CONTACTING COOPERATE
I appreciate how I am always accommodated when I schedule a last minute service. They get me in and out in a reasonable amount of time when I am waiting around. Although service costs may be cheaper elsewhere, I appreciate the coupons regularly sent for me to use.
Traveling through, 1000 miles from home and our Adblue sensor went off. They got us right in, right out and did an awesome job. Highly recommend.
Thank you, VW Gainesville, for picking up and delivering my Tiguan for service during the pandemic situation.
Fell in love with a car & thanks to my great salesperson Bre & the General Manager that went by the name “Yogi” we were able to make a miracle happen. Thank you so much to the entire VW of Gainseville team for an amazing experience. I couldn’t be happier with my car!
I was very impressed with the service here! This was my first time buying a car by myself and Justin made me feel confident of my decision and that I was getting a good deal. He made sure I knew all my options, and everyone else was a joy to work with!
I brought my car in for service at VW of Gainesville and the entire staff was very pleasant to deal with. I was able to get a diagnosis of the problem with my car within minutes. The mechanics were able to solve my issue, and I was out the door quicker than I anticipated. The staff was very accommodating and it was overall a great experience.
We bought a car for my son at this dealership. Anthony, Wayne and Paul were excellent to deal with. They followed up and did everything they said they would do. I highly recommend this dealership if you are looking for a new vehicle.
Go to this place if you want to hear “Let me take your number down, and we’ll give you a call back” a million times. At one point I even expressed the urgency of my situation and someone promised they’d call that day — nope! I finally called and asked to schedule a service and I got that same response.Total amount of times I’ve called for help = 5Total amount of times I’ve actually gotten a response = 0Pretty sure they’ve hired someone to just sit at the desk and throw away all your messages. Literally worthless. Don’t bother.
Amazing people, they make you fill like family during the buying process, no pressure at all, my sales man was Rick, very nice person, he covered all for us, very attend, he make us feel very comfortable with him, no like others dealers we had . They are doing a good job, Rick fallow up with us all the time to see how is the car doing, you dont get this in Jacksonville Florida .Couple of time we needed some info from the dealer and he was always there for us.I recommend this dealer, you will notice the difference right a away . Thanks Rick for the good job.
Volkswagen of Gainesville was nothing short of excellent! Great customer service with staff and support that actually care about their customers and their concerns. Would recommend them to anyone!
After forgetting to inform me about charges to program a new key, the manager was quick to apologize and accomodate me. I appreciate the customer service.
I had my car serviced here today. They were friendly and relatively quick and did a good job. They even offered a free car wash
My daughter was having an issue with her VW, brought it in, and was told it would cost over $5,000 to fix. She cried. She told me and I advised her to take it elsewhere. Luckily she did and got a second opinion, which was a grand total of $500. How could a dealer try and take advantage of a young mother like that? Absolutely disgusting. DO NOT bring your car here unless it is absolutely necessary.
Took good care of me and my car service can be hard to get a hold of especially if you work a day job but other than that good friendly staff and clean office
Everything went well from the beginning til the end the test drive was good. William Desantis(sales advisor)did a great job and knew about the cars he was trying to sell. I like that
Service department is wonderful! Always bring my car to Ryan! He is friendly and honest!
Humility is a quality few people exercise. I had a conversation with Damon today about a 2018 Atlas and I initially left the conversation feeling disrespected and yelled at. So after that initial conversation took place I contacted Michelle their customer relations specialist, who is a fantastic person to talk too. Michelle passed the information on to the dealership and Damon contacted me back and apologized for the misunderstanding. So I was completely surprised because Im thinking he is calling me for round 2. (LOL) I dont think I have ever seen a business with this kind of timely responsiveness except when it comes to that business getting paid. All of the conversations took place within a three hour time frame. So I have not purchased yet but I can say they are humble enough to apologize and work with you if you are a reasonable person. I believe they understand that treating people with respect is a critical component of business. This is why I am giving them 5 stars and will still consider purchasing from them.
I had the most unbelievable car buying experience with Volkswagen of Gainesville. I recently moved from Oregon and did not know where to go. The minute I sent a message thru the online website with questions Nate responded and followed thru til the end. I got pictures sent to me and a walk around video of the car within minutes of my request!!! Being a little hesitant he assured that they would take care of me.The next day they picked me up from my home 2 hours away since I had no way to get there. They had the car ready and paperwork was quick. The general manger Damon was awesome with getting the best price for the car! Full tank of gas and blue tooth set up I was on my way in no time at all!Nate has been awesome following up, to see if I am enjoying the vehicle. I will never go anywhere else to buy a car. They were absolutely the best! Cant thank them enough for the service and the car of course! Thanks guys you rock !!A+++++++
I worked with Amber and she was really great. She is very personal and competent and happy to help! The entire staff were friendly as well.
Sale and service department are great especially Eric Jackson very patient and welling to work a deal, if your in the market i recommend you go see Volkswagen of Gainesville.
Have called all morning to reach service department about scheduling an oil change but keep being sent to and automated system that tells me the hours of operations (which are current to my time.) Proceed to speak to operator for help but get an answering machine.Feeling aggravated. Hope they make this right because the people are nice.
Left my car 9:30 am day 1 ... after numerous calls and difficulty getting updates due to “mechanic meetings” I requested an Uber to take my car back finished or not on day 2 at 1 pm?Regretfully the Uber smelled like wet dog??? To boot.. still have a remote starter issue that they can’t solve and never could from day 1 brand new car???Service rep was nice and I suspect she’s at the mercy of those under the hood or management?Been coming here for now third VW company car and very avg service always. I’ll just get a different make next time.
Misty at VW of Gainesville was amazing throughout the whole process! She kept me updated throughout everything with my car, I greatly appreciated her generosity & honesty. Thank you! _Juliet
Ive NEVER purchased a vehicle before. These guys are very aggressive, so take someone with you who knows what theyre doing. The salesmen get paid a flat commission per vehicle, so they dont care about the price tag on the vehicle itself. Whether its $100 or $100,000, they get paid the same. Used vehicles get a 10 yr/100k mile warranty!
Altogether a pleasant experience! Very friendly atmosphere and comfortable..
Great service. We came in from out of town and they took care of everything on my daughters car. Highly recommend this dealer
When I first arrived here I was ready for disappointment. I cant believe how fast I found the perfect car. They listen to there Customers! Its amazing! Thanks for my 2017 Nissan rogue! Im so happy to know u got my back with the warranty. Im a single mom who knows nothing about cars so this will save me if down the line I need it! Stop here first before any where else...I wish I did!
