The owner was very kind and helpful. He stopped what he was doing to fix my bike when I walked in. He clearly explained everything and fixed other things on the bike besides the flat tire I went in for.Don’t hesitate to visit for anything bike related!

This man is honest to the bone. He seems to generally care about biking in general and could care less if you buy a bike from him versus from another store. He just wants you on a bike and he gives his opinion on any bike that you may show him (fb marketplace etc.)Definitely will come back for a tune up

I have used literally every bike shop in Gainesville before I discovered Niles and Recycled Bikes. He does precision work at reasonable prices. Hes got a huge selection of new and used parts. I purchased an Electra Townie for my step daughter for $220. That is a $650 bike, new. His turnaround time is the fastest in the industry. I cant say enough good things about this place and how delighted I am with the service and selection. I am stoked to have discovered this precious gem of a shop. If you want or need anything for your bike or to buy a bike go see Niles at Recycled Bikes. Youll be glad you did.

Miles(owner) is atrociously unprofessional and a scammer. I took my bike in to get the gear shifter replaced, when I returned to pick my bike up he said he replaced it. He was lying for I marked the shifter in a subtle way to identify it as the same one. When I told him he quickly said no charge, have a nice day. He reeked of pot when I returned to his shop too. AVOID!!!

I have over 40 years of bike and cycling experience; balloon tire to Italian racers; riding, racing, building, maintaining and repairing.Unfortunately, aside from picking up some used parts (varying prices) I have had some experiences where the professionalism of this shop is called into question. One time I brought a loose part into the shop to get service. The assembly required a special tool, both brand and model specific, to perform the work. The technician/mechanic proceeded to use a basic hand tool (which I already had, and the wrong tool) to remove a part in excellent condition (vintage part over 35 yrs old and not readily found in near mint condition). The tool didnt mate properly to the part and all I saw and heard was the tool grinding/slipping, causing irreparable damage; I stopped the worker and left confounded! I am quite capable of destroying my own equipment without professional help. Another time I brought a bike in for some basic routine maintenance and instead of wanting to do the work (quote:I dont really do that), I was handed a new part to replace a perfectly good part that only needed preventative maintenance! I own bikes that range in value from $10 to over $2000 and I wont go there for any service/maintenance related work. If buying new parts; shop around first! Also, call first to see if the shop is open; business hours are not readily adhered to. I have had horrible maintenance experiences in Gainesville from other shops also. What you get in a college town; sell new, sell new, and sell more new stuff. With that philosophy Id be buying a car every time I need tires! Beware!!!

I went to this place, the guy said lets go see your bike. I was parked in a parking lot to the side of the store. As we were walking out, he yelled to a guy across the street wheres my beer? Wow, unprofessional! As Im walking to my car I noticed him walking towards the guy. As Im waiting for him, I see him chit chatting and exchanging money. I waited for about 2 minutes and left! Apparently that beer was more important then business.

Nicest person you could meet. Even has a free bike area. Put a really high quality kickstand on my bike and tried to give it to me for free. I paid $5. Cup holder $2. BIkes are so inexpensive it is dangerous since you just want to buy them for no reason.

The brutal honesty of the owner Miles is refreshing to see in a business, hes an awesome guy and will let you know his full, whole opinion on anything. The owner and shop deserve credit as one of the best places to repair or buy a bike with the fairest prices. The passion here lies in the bikes and riding, not in making money.

Im a newb when it comes to bikes so I was worried when my back wheel was making a rubbing sound and my back brake was hardly working. I came to Recycled Bicycles and had the absolute best experience. The very friendly guy (I think owner) that worked with me had both issues fixed faster than a blink of an eye and wouldnt charge me for the service. He also offered me some very good advice about the type of bike I was riding but wasnt a snob about it, didnt make it seem urgent to change, and didnt try to make any kind of sale. He just kept repeating that the important thing is that I continue riding and enjoy riding. What a great vibe!

A Gainesville classic. The staff at Recycled Bicycles are helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. They have a variety of recycled bikes, parts and accessories made from recycled materials to choose from. You can find it behind that giant Enterprise sign on University Ave. They are the best place in Gainesville to go for a deal on panniers/ pannier racks, but they are sometimes out of stock (just call ahead to make sure).

The past few times Ive been here, Ive received no help at all on the project Im working on. The owner always says that my project wont work and Ill need to buy a whole new bike. I was looking for a crankset and instead he tried to sell me a Walmart thruster! Prices are very steep and the owner seems unenthusiastic about his work. I honestly have no idea how this guy stays in business. Spare your time and goto goodbike, the prices are cheaper and the staff is great.
