Went here today to get a weird noise checked out. Turns out I had a bolt in my tire. First red flag is the big sign they have as soon as you walk in that says give us 5 stars on google reviews for 20$ off an oil change. So they are falsifying their ratings, and clearly they need it because their service and pricing is trash. Bolt was clearly in a repairable position, but they insisted on selling me a new tire for double the normal cost. I decided to find somewhere else for the repair, but they charged me 35$ for just finding a bolt on the tire, something that took the guy less than 10 minutes. Front desk guy was tired which is understandable, but that’s an unprofessional attitude to wear when serving customers. The service worker was smoking cigarettes the whole time and left a nasty aroma that lucky went away. Went over to discount tires and they saw it was clearly patchable and hooked it up for free! I greatly recommend them, giant difference in service. TLDR; Don’t go to Midas for tire issues, or in general, this local artificially inflates reviews.

Hi, first I usually do not take my cars to chain type places but my car broke down and they were recommended. This Midas is more of a mom and pop feel. I can tell they truly care and tried everything they could to save me money and do what is best for my car. They even gave me a rental to get a rental car. I cant say enough the entire staff but especially Joe. He has been absolutely amazing. I cant possibly recommend them more!

Trust-worthy mechanic! I go to them for everything with my car. They communicate professionally, follow-through with excellent work in quick timing and a reasonable price. They even point out me on my car exactly what the issues are and how to address them.

I called to get a oil change they said I was good to come I drove 45 minutes then they said yeah sorry theirs a 2 hour wait you can come back tomorrow if you want. Oil light was on it needed to be done their. Go to jiffy lube up the street cheaper and actual good service

After living in Gainesville for a many years its taken me awhile to find my go-to auto repair shopthat Im comfortable with. Im so glad I started going to Midas after needing a second opinion this past year. Ive taken my car in for multiple services, including routine and repair. Communication and timeliness has always been great and I have never over charged for the services that have been completed. Thanks Midas!

The website makes setting up an appointment super easy. Upon arriving at the Archer Road location in Gainesville Florida, I was greeted by an associate who worked very hard and getting the best price for the services that I needed. The staff is great to work with and highly knowledgeable. Also there was no delay of my scheduled appointment. They took my vehicle right in and on time at that! I would highly recommend Midas to any of my family or friends!

The manager Andrew is the best manager I’ve ever seen at this location! He is so professional and knowledgeable and really knows what he is doing! He’s great with explaining everything about your car before he works on it and he answers all of your questions without making you feel dumb especially when you don’t know a lot about cars like me. The service was professional and expedient.Long review: I was traveling back to Tampa from out of state and noticed a lot of wear on my front tires. Obviously I couldnt wait a day for tires that werent in stock. But Andrew got on the phone ten minutes later he had picked up the needed tires.Jorge was exceedingly friendly and professional. Answered all my questions and showed me what was probably causing the unusual wear.Frank immediately took over and quickly balanced and mounted the tires like a pro.Excellent staff and fair price. Had a great experience at this Midas on the way back from Florida headed to Indiana. The team was very friendly and fixed our Jeep in the last few hours of the day to get us back on the road on the weekend. We appreciated them being fair on price, letting us use a coupon, and being super friendly making it a good experience.

We were a hour into our family road trip and the truck started to vibrate at 75-80. We recently had a tire rotation the week prior at another place. My wife and I were headed home to St. Augustine when we ended up with damage to one of our tires.While every other shop in town had a several hour wait before they could even get started, these guys squeezed us in at the last minute, fixed our tire, saved our weekend trip, and got us home safe. All for an extremely fair price too!Highly recommend!!

Went in the get a diagnostic of a noise my car was making with no appointment. Very courteous and quick, even over the phone. Was in and out in about an hour. Free basic diagnostic and the staff are very friendly and patient. Was comfortable the entire wait. Explained what the issue was on my car and sent me on my way with NO pressure to get it fixed there (although my issue needs a body shop). Definitely take your car here if you want great service and no pressure to buy.

Lied and tried to charge me over $1000 for problems that my truck wasn’t even having. They also locked up my truck in their shop over the weekend and wouldn’t pick up my calls all day. My truck was stuck in their shop all weekend with the hood still up and parts laying on the ground

Midas is the best auto shop i been so far. I went today there and they fix the issue with my antifreeze leak and change my oil i was expecting to spend more than $700 but end up been 235 really good cheap and professional people. Love it. Robert put me at ease and found ways to save me money and Drew got my tires and brakes on the car, properly adjusted, perfectly balanced and out the door in no time. This is the absolutely best little shop in the whole entire world. I am currently fleeing a bad situation and they not only helped me to figure out what was wrong but, seeming as it was a transmission issue and needed to leave asap, they also gave me advice to make sure I made it to my destination of Nebraska. A little kindness goes a long way and this shop definitely outdid themselves. I highly recommend going to them!!!

Thank you Midas staff for helping my family today. Last night we went to Tires Plus to get a flat my wife had last night but they turned us away 16 minutes before they closed. Come on, we had our kids with us, our son is only 2... No where else was open forcing us to abandon our vehicle 25 minutes from home.Early this morning I stopped by Midas on the way to check on our vehicle to see if they would help us. Not only did they help us, but they were super quick. The only problem with the tire...... the valve stem cracked.... we were in and out in less than 10 minutes. They even installed a high pressure valve stem to make sure our family is safe and good to go.Thank you Midas for your excellent customer service!

Their employees are chronically late, dont expect to get out in a timely manner, and their work is slip shotty at best. First person to here at 7:20 a.m. didnt start work on my car for an oil change until 845 a.m.. wont be back.

If you go to this Midas, I *highly* suggest getting a second opinion from another auto repair shop. I brought my vehicle to Midas on recommendation from a friend. Initially it was for a rear brake shoes and drums replacement. They called me within a couple hours to tell me my brakes and drums were fine, but that my struts were bottoming out and would need to be replaced. This suggestion took me from a $650 repair to a $860 repair. I told them I would have to discuss it with my boyfriend before moving forward.I then took it to another reputable auto repair shop for a second opinion. This shop owner confirmed for me that all my brakes are fine and that I DO NOT need rear brake shoes or drums and that my struts are absolutely fine and do not need to be replaced.If I would have taken Midas word for it, I would have paid out $860 for a repair I didnt even need. The people were nice, but that doesnt excuse telling someone they need nearly $900 worth of repairs that they dont actually need. I feel like it was the typical shes a woman, lets see if we can take advantage of her scenario. Luckily my father has been an auto body guy for over 40 years, and I didnt fall for it.

This place literally did not have the tools to change the spark plugs on a VW. I called at least five other mechanics and they all had the tools and ability to complete this routine task. They all thought it was strange that this Midas didnt. What kind of mechanic shop doesnt have the tools to service a jetta?Furthermore, four employees just sitting around at 11am, not a mask in sight. All the while Im in my mask and telling my son he cant be inside this shop because nobody is wearing a mask, and Im trying not to spread a deadly disease. Guess these guys dont know theres a city mandate for masks or know were in the midst of a pandemic thats killing 1000 Americans per day. Guess I should consider myself lucky. With this amount of care and attention to detail I can only imagine what they could have done to my car. Lastly, Im fine with casual talk from an employee, but I at least expect some manner of professionalism. Guy who checked in my car didnt really have so much of that; just kinda seemed like an employee that didnt care if I was there or not. The boss seemed helpful and the mechanic without the tools was friendly, but all in all...lets just say I wont be going back.

I consistently get my car service at this location. However, this is the last time. Why does the store closes 2 hours early on a regular basis. Theres no sign saying they are closing early. I went to pick up my vehicle 4:15pm and they are closed and the sign said the store close at 6pm. The store was also closed at 4pm. Yesterday. This is very unprofessional.

I love coming to Midas, I try to visit this location every time I need my oil changed. The staff has always been extremely friendly and professional. They always go above and beyond. I highly recommend coming here if you need any car services.

They seen a woman from out of state needing to get home and took full advantage of the situation. My car broke down and I had it towed to Midas as it was the closest repair shop. Upon inspection they said I needed a new battery as mine wasnt keeping a charge to have it put on their diagnostic machine. I complied. Upon further inspection and diagnostic tested it read I needed a new starter!! Yay my car will be running after a day and a half, I can finally get back on the road!! NOT!! CAR WOULD NOT RUN and NOW THEIR DIAGNOSTIC MACHINE WONT READ A CODE!! What now could it be I asked? Response was could be the alternator, fuel pump, or an electrical issue but neither the alternator or fuel pump were in stock and would need to be ordered. Great!! I dont have the time, nor the money as my bill was already at $948!! So I called around to a few other places to see about getting my car properly fixed not just a guessing game of what it could possibly be next since their diagnostic machine decided it couldnt read anymore codes on my car...long story short I had it towed to another shop just down the road. Within 45 minutes, of it being on their diagnostic machine, getting my car running and test drove, I was back on the road with just $.25 fuse! And the kicker is...my car isnt under warranty for the work they unnecessarily did and charged, since I live in Michigan!!

Manager Darrell and Technician Edwin are awesome. I have minor issue with brakes. Went to Midas on Archer road. They did a free diagnosis and found out the brake fluid is bad and fixed it without any appointment. Edwin thoroughly checked for problems and fixed the problem. They are very courteous and honest and reasonable with prices.

The service at Midas was fine. I appreciated Robert and the mechanics for fixing my car first of all because when I arrived it was close to closing time and secondly they worked past closing time to fix my car. I was happy with the customer service. They did a good job fixing my car. It has been running well and genuinely I’m happy with their service.The issue I have with the business is that they took advantage of me. After showing my service bill to my more car knowledgeable friends I was informed I paid almost double the amount for a battery, I overpaid for a starter and serpentine belt. I feel violated that they overcharged me substantially for a service I could have gone somewhere else for and got a reasonable price. I’m all about a business making money for their services but it ought to be reasonable. I do not recommend anyone with lack of vehicle knowledge to come to have their car serviced here. You will be overcharged.

They replaced my front brakes and rotters without looking at the rest of the brake system. Two weeks after having the work done my breaks locked up and started smoking. The calipers were bad and the brake lines needed replaced ( as reported by the garage that I took it to, not Midas). I have to replace the parts that they installed and make the additional repairs. Taking it to them in the first place was a huge waste of money and time.

Since the first day I took my vehicle in, Robert and his crew have taken great care of me and my vehicle, extremely professional and courteous. They provide great customer service and work to get you back on the road in a timely manner. They insure the job is done, and make sure it’s road safe. I don’t trust any other place in Gainesville and they have a loyal customer in me. Thank you so much

Fast, friendly, and fair! I needed brake and tire work done, and needed it done quickly. Shortly after arriving for my scheduled appointment, the crew were busy repairing my car. The customer service was outstanding, as was the work they performed. One of the best parts of the experience, though, was they didnt try to up-sell anything to me. They were honest about what work was necessary and what could wait. If youve ever had your car repaired at a dealership, then you know that isnt standard practice! Best of all, the price out the door was more than fair, coming in at over $200.00 less than a quote I got from a dealership. Thanks for an excellent experience!

I needed emergency help on my car and called around different places in town, I was quoted $50 from Jiffy Lube for a regular oil change then called Midas spoke with Robert Bozeman and he put my worries at ease with an oil change at a great rate! Even though they were booked up Robert had me come in to help take care of my issue since it seemed urgent and not just a regular oil change. Him and Drew went above and beyond to help out and they explained everything clearly step by step. I highly recommend anyone to this Midas!

I have a Scion Im that I recently purchased in 2016 and after a year and just about 4000 miles past the warranty, the A/C compressor broke. The assistant manager Robert was phenomenal, he took care of me, went out of his way to find the best parts, all at reasonable prices. I went to 3 other shops and he offered me the best warranty on the work, great customer service, and timely, good repair. I would recommend this place to anyone is the Gainsville area. The management cares, they want your business and theyre willing to work for it. 10/10

It was my first time ever get my oil changed by myself and the whole crew at midas was very very helpful. The prices are great, the management is new and it’s definitely worth going. Was out of there in leas than 20 mins for both oil change and tire rotation. And they were sweet enough to check out my wiper water for me!

Very good experience and really honest service. I felt very informed throughout the process and never got sticker shocked by some repair recommendations. Went for full synth oil change (~8qts) and transmission drain and fill. Well pleased with the outcome.

I was very pleasantly surprised with my encounter today! In the past I have had some negative experiences with less than polite customer service and long wait times despite making an appointment. This weekend I had my car towed there a few minutes after closing on Saturday, but the staff were friendly, evaluated my car promptly upon opening today (Monday), could not find a problem, and waived the $16 diagnostic fee! Great customer service- will definitely be returning.

I brought my own filter/oil, just wanted to pay $20 for the labor. Apparently I should have explicitly asked them to put the correct amount of oil or measured it out for them because they simply poured the whole container in there. Now Im going to have to end up jacking my car up anyway to bring it down to the correct level. What a waste of money.Also, ladies: please do some research before you come here: they will cheerfully take advantage of your lack of knowledge. The girl who was in the office before me didnt understand cabin air filters and agreed to an egregious $20 installation fee, on top of however much theyll end up charging her for the filter. The process for which is opening a door, swapping the filter, and closing the door.

They’re service is great! The guy they have at the front really knows how to do customer service. Really an awesome guy. The mechanis get stuff done quick and it they don’t decrease the quality of the service either. Not giving them five stars because they’re missing WiFi but I was still able to wait comfortably. I love that they can tell me what can wait when it comes to the issues that my car has instead of harassing me to get done right then and there. Will definitely be coming back with any car problems I might have.

The same incompetent mechanics as before with new paint on the building. Dont let the it fool you, there are NO certified or trained mechanics there. The management is rude and very little knowledge. Go somewhere else if you value your vehicle at all!

I took my car to oil change on Midas and the employee dropped oil off in my car’s engine and did not tell anything. I drove few miles back home when my car start smoke really bad. I believe that theres no danger of engine parts being ruined by being covered in oil, but it could have a slight fire danger. If oil were to pool on the hot exhaust manifold, it could ignite. I am really disappointed...now I have clean up their mess because the oil will burn off and will smoke and smell bad.
