First time taking my car there, thought I needed a patch but turns out I had a nail in the side wall so needed to replace the tire. Everyone there was extremely polite and professional helped me immediately and got my car out within an hour. Very grateful and very impressed. Not to mention it really wasn’t as expensive as I thought it was gonna be!

I ordered tires online and scheduled an appointment to get them installed. I thought to call ahead the day before and make sure the tires were in stock. Alas, they did have to order the tires and I had reschedule my appointment for the following week to allow time for delivery. When I arrived for my appointment the following week, I dropped off my car and was told it would be an hour and a half wait. After waiting for two hours, I recieved a call stating that the tires wouldnt be in until the next day and I had to reschedule and either leave or come pick up my car. I picked up my car and gladly scheduled an appointment elsewhere.

They are very fast and efficient! Answered all of my questions thoroughly and fixed my car’s issue. I recommend going here for car maintenance!

I scheduled a tire replacement at 3:30 and employee Caldwell did the very best to assist me. I ended up arriving 11 minutes late and he still assisted me as if I made it on time. His customer service was very exceptional and they serviced me very quickly. I didnt sit any longer than 15 minutes and my car was being worked on. I’ve came here for years with me and my wife and we have never had an issue. The service has always been great along with every employee having a good attitude. The oil changes here are done in a timely manner and the prices are great for what you are getting. You may argue that you can save money at places like Walmart or what not however, you will end up getting more oil changes and paying out more money then you would of at Mavis.

My experience. Started out okay. Ordered tires through them after getting a quote for tires a few days earlier. Got a set of four tires and an alignment. No problem. Dropped off my vehicle and when I came back to pick up and pay the lobby door was locked. Even though the hours were until 8:30. One of the customers let me in. Waited until an employee came in...not too long but when he did he stared at me as he walked towards the front door to let a customer in. Not a can I help you or have you been helped but a stare. Then he asked if I needed something with an attitude like I was bothering him. I told him yeah I need to pay. Then he helped the lady he let in the door then walked back out to the garage to work on a vehicle. Very strange. I expected someone else to come back to help but no one did so I eventually opened the door to the service garage and then one of the technicians said something to the employee that was in the store earlier so he came back in to help me. I gave him info for the vehicle and he gave me my total which was $25 more than what I was quoted and had written down on a card. I told him what I was quoted and he says that didnt include taxes. Im not a math major but when your spend $1100 and add taxes $25 is definitely not 7%. It would be more but I was quoted a lesser price for out the door including everything. He says he was the service manager and that hes not trying to cheat me and that quotes over the phone are different than in person. I had the quote written on a Mavis business card from several days ago from their employee. The so called Service Mgr called the person that gave me the original quote and then he adjusted the price. It was still more than what I was originally quoted but at this point $6 wasnt worth the argument. I felt the Service Mgr was rude, argumentative, had poor customer skills, unfriendly, and is a sad example of any kind of manager. Ive been to other tire places and wanted to give them a try because of their good reviews. Every experience is different. Wish mine was better.That being said they seem to have done a good job on the alignment and the tire installation looks good. I hope I dont have issues with the tires because they didnt explain warranties or services they offer for new tires installations.Update: Store Mgr contacted me to make it right. I appreciate Joseph giving me a call. I will update rating because it seems they do care.

Wrote good review a month ago, but then tire they said was fixed went VERY flat again. Made another appointment, when I got there they said no record of appointment and Id have to wait 3 hrs or make another appointment (which would have meant 3 trips for the same tire). No thanks.

Had to leave my truck in Florida for a month as it needed brake pads. My wife found and made an appointment. I am so glad she did. She made the appointment for 5/26 I took the truck in and was greeted with respect professionalism and courtesy. I was told an estimated time of 90 minutes with in an hour I was called and told the truck was ready. I get there and was given so much information as to what the truck needed to be done soon which I am grateful for. The team was awesome efficient quick professional and courtesy. I would highly recommend to anyone make the appointment for your car care needs best i have found in 3 states. The price was great and didnt beat the snot out of the wallet but kept in budget and work was quality the team here is second to nobody. Great job Mavis Team.

Customer service isnt the term. They are just phenomenal human beings. They were able to find the source of the mysterious noise after 2 hours of carefully searching. I have taken my car to 4 or 5 places and finally got the answer and solution I have been looking for. They were all very kind, very helpful and very patient. I do not have enough words to thank them. I will, however, continue to take my car here for anything it needs as long as I live in Gainesville - no questions asked. Thank you all again so much.PS - I was there alone with little car knowledge and could have easily been convinced into many pricey situations. That could not have been further from the truth. These guys are the real deal and very trust worthy.

What a disaster. We dropped off a single tire to have it replaced due to it having a nail and a screw. The rep informed us that we didnt purchase insurance on the > $1k set of tires we had purchased 2 years prior, which was a mistake on their end. But I quickly realized that wasnt a conversation worth having since both people running the front of the shop were incapable of having conversations with me or any other customer that needed service.A few days later, I called to get an update on the tire only to find out they still needed to order the replacement. Ive experienced dental appointments more enjoyable than that 3 minute conversation. Two days later, they still hadnt ordered the tire but this time the manager gave conflicting updates multiple times before accusing me of providing inaccurate information. After this 15 minute argument over the phone, the manager agreed to order the tire.Two more days later, I called for an update to find out the tire still needed to be ordered.We ordered and paid for a new tire from Discount Tire. Scheduled a replacement service appointment. 2 hours later we received a phone call from Discount Tire confirming all of the details, making sure we were aware of their current protocol. We received a followup call the next day letting us know our tire had arrived. Were here now sitting outside the shop reflecting back on the entire experience. Discount Tire has been a 10. Mavis was a 1. I am surprised they still had our tire following all of the other incompetence we experienced. Seriously, get your act together Mavis. Maybe hire Discount Tire to help you out?

Joseph the store manager has reached out to me on 1/18 (the next day). He was very attentive and respectful, apologizing for the incident and has told me has ordered a new factory wheel. Will update when it gets installed.STAY FAR AWAY. Came in to simply get two front tires changed, I special ordered them and came in to get them replaced on Sunday 01/17. I was told I needed a 2-wheel alignment, as well, so chose to get it done. This is where my problem begins. I’m assuming the alignment tool is what damaged my wheel significantly, the finish of my wheel literally flaked off and there are deep scratches all around the rim. Mistakes happen, and I would’ve been okay and proceeded with them correcting the problem had they been up front and honest with me.Rather than owning up to his/her mistake, the technician who performed the work made attempts to hide this damage from me by failing to mention the damage to the wheel (damage that one would notice having done to a wheel, especially considering how the machine finish flaked off with ease). This shows a lack of character and no respect towards their customer. This is the first and last time I get any service ever performed here. Not to mention tire pressures were all over the place upon receiving my vehicle. I question the qualifications of the employees, and hope management does not encourage this sort of deceitfulness and dishonesty that tarnishes the company’s reputation.As of writing this review (1/18), I am awaiting a call from the owner/upper management, Caldwell assured me I will receive a call today. Will update with how things go. The ball is in their court to rectify the issue and make things somewhat right.1/27 Issue has been rectified and I feel as though they made things right with how they handled everything from ordering a new wheel immediately and having it replaced. Horrible customer service, major attitude. Tires wore out after 8k miles, alignment was done wrong, and when we asked them to replace the tires and redo the alignment they wouldn’t help us whatsoever. Don’t waste your money here! Go somewhere that actually honors their warranty and guarantees.

Excellent work and great service! They are quick and efficient. I moved to Gainesville a year ago and have gotten numerous oil changes (I drive 100 miles to work every day). This place is by far the BEST! Nice space, quick, great staff, and great prices. It is located right in between bus line 43 and 5 so you can easily drop your car off and bus to either UFs or Santa Fes campus.

Larry was great!! I went in to get my front brake pads replaced and new tires. But Larry was honest with me after checking my brake pads and told me that they were fine and didnt need replacing. I thanked him for his honesty because I normally go to the local Mazdas service department for my car and a few months ago when I went in for an oil change they had told me my brake pads were in yellow. I had gotten the back ones replaced about a year ago with Mazda because they told me the same thing but now I am wondering if they also didnt need replacing. Anyway, I am so appreciative of Larrys honesty and professionalism! I would highly recommend Mavis!

Not my typical experience but since you didnt bother to reschedule this is my feedback.Failure to communicate, call me if there was a problem, or follow up to reschedule Id terrible customer service. After booking and open appointment block, I showed up at the store and inquired whether or not they were able to complete an oil change & tire rotation for me. Inquired twice with the service tech taking my information whether they could be done by 2:30 due to needing to pick son from school.(more 1.5 hrs.) I showed up at 2:30 and the tech ignored me w/ my truck still sitting in the parking lot. I had to tell them to give my keys back so I could leave. The last thing I said was call me to reschedule. No surprise no one called. If youre that busy maybe you need to get the manager and the service guys out into the bay to complete work. Dont over promise and if you cant complete call the customer.

This turned out to be dishonest. No service done, none offered just left my bad tire on and put the new one in the back. Did not even ask if I wanted service. Unprofessional for them to assume I didnt need the tire actually on?? If they didnt have time then inform me and Id come back another time.

Their customer service is excellent! We loved the fact that after they gave us a run down on what needed to be done (more than one repair) they didn’t try to hassle or force us into doing everything at once- in turn making us feel comfortable and respected. I took my car to change two tires, and when they gave me the car, the outer handle door was broken, and they said it is plastic and damaged. I gave them the handle in perfect condition. And the administrator says it broke alone. One of the employees pulled it very hard and broke it. The administrator tells me that it is not his problem. They are not going to replace the handle and did not even ask me for an apology about that. It is the worst service I have ever received. Dont ever go there. Gainesville FL 3545 W. University Ave.

Dishonest company!I am changing my 5 star rating to a 1 star rating. I was told if I gave them 5 stars, they would give me a discount on my oil change. I did receive a discount. However, during this visit, I was told I needed new shocks and struts on my Honda and was heavily encouraged to get their credit card to cover the cost of this extremely expensive service. I declined because I didn’t want a credit card. I took my car to the Honda dealership for an inspection because my car is fairly new. I was told there’s absolutely nothing wrong with my car and they have no idea why I was told that. Stay far away!!!

We have used Mavis, formally Kauffman, for years. Since Mavis took over, the customer service has continually declined. So much so that we do not plan to return to Mavis. Within the past 2 months we have had to have 2 tires replaced. In May 2021 we had a lot of communication issues, including being told our vehicle was ready for pickup, however when we pulled in, the spare was still on the car. The manager did give us a discount for all of the miscommunication issues. However, yesterday (6/28/21) we had to have another new tire put on the car. Four times - FOUR TIMES - there was conversation of making sure that the new tire from May 2021 and the new tire from yesterday were put on the BACK of the car. I was told TWO TIMES that this would happen and TWO TIMES that it DID happen. In fact, it DID NOT HAPPEN!!!! The curtness of the employees just adds to the unpleasant experience! Although the manager did provide us a discount for all of the issues in May 2021, he was the employee I dealt with yesterday and was quite curt and seemed extremely irritated throughout the process. And to make matters worse, he is the one who assured me TWICE that the new tires would be placed on the back and TWICE that they had been placed on the back. There is not a single employee there, including the manager, who have a good attitude or good customer service!

I brought my car in to get the tires balanced. Mavis left a lug nut off one tire and failed to correctly balance 3 of four tires. They said they would give a refund but the manager was never in and never returned any phone calls. I had to process it though my credit card to get a refund. They are the same price as the dealership so dont waste your time and money going to mavis.

Last year I needed some struts on the front end of my Traverse. I didnt know too much about this type of automotive work at the time. I did some research and shopping around. These guys did their best to beat every price that I had encountered in town (they have to make a living just like everyone else) . There were no hidden fees or anything like that. Also havent had any issues with the struts too. They even threw in an alignment also! Id highly recommend Mavis to anybody!

The clerk working the front desk could not have been more unhelpful, unwelcoming or condescending. I don’t know a thing about tires, so I expect a tire shop to be equipped to answer any and all questions. I asked about the best tire brands and got the response “we have lots of brands”, I asked about prices and got the response “we have a broad range of prices”... wow thanks for the specific information pal. He eventually informed me that he did not even have but 2 tires that could work on my truck, and that he’d have to put some on order. Vexed at this point I just said I’ll come back later, and he makes no attempt to set up a future appointment, and just let’s me walk out as if making a sale is the last thing on his mind. You should really have someone working the front desk who’s eager to help and assist customers and make a sale, not someone who’s just at work for a paycheck. Would not recommend this place.

I absolutely recommend this place to everyone! Christian, especially, has been such a pleasure to work with while figuring out exactly what my car needed to have worked on. All the guys here are super friendly and dont give you the runaround! They truly have the customers best interest in mind. I appreciate you guys so much.
