My sister and I had visited Dallas TX and were traveling home to NE Oklahoma (several hours away). While on I-35, my vehicle began making a grinding / thumping noise under the front end. Got the car to Kwik Kar in Gainesville TX and luckily they were still open on a late Saturday afternoon. Dan (manager) took it for a test drive and diagnosed it was the wheel hub that needed to be replaced. Again luckily, Dan had the necessary parts in stock. Dan and his crew were able to replace the wheel hub even though the guys had to stay a bit after closing. I was very impressed, and appreciative, of the professionalism and kindness shown to us by Dan and his crew. It was such a relief on a very hot Texas day to find Dan and his crew who were willing to give that extra effort to get us safely back on road! Thank you, thank you!

I am truly impressed by this place’s service and professionalism. I walked in for an Oil Change and some additional auto work. I found the staff not only professional, but courteous, clean and proficient. While I thought I may have a major issue with the alignment of my car (another place told me so), the manager/technician explained that it is not the case. Not only I was able to save $$, but also address the issue in a very efficient manner. (tire balancing) It is not often that you can find an auto service shop that are honest and professional. This place is certainly is. If you walk in for a service, they will not try to up-sell you for services that you do not need, they will tell you exactly what the car need.I seldom write any reviews, but this place is certainly one I highly recommend which is why I was felt strongly about writing one. I will certainly go back there again for additional auto services.. I value this place and staff a lot.

Don’t take your car here. We went to get the A/C repaired and they broke the belt in the process. It took them almost a hour to replace it. Then on the way home the A/C unit goes out. The next day on they way to get it fixed the car overheated. It had no previous problems until they worked on it. Do not they will damage your car to charge you again.

2 experiences:First repair: Replaced battery cables. Did a decent job. Jeff is a very likeable guy. Found out hes from same place as me. I was very impressed and decided to go back to have more repairs done.Second repair: had vacuum hoses replaced. Didnt do all the hoses. Left a major hose unhooked, which caused a serious vacuum leak and then told me I needed intake manifold repaired and would cost $325. Couldnt take me the day I was supposed to have it done and found another shop who found unhooked hose and saved me $325! Gee, thanks for being so honest and trustworthy. Uhuh. Have you noticed that I havent called you back, or been by? Guess you know why now. Dont trust you anymore.

I was only on their website it was extremely easy to navigate. So for now until I visit in person it will remain a five star. Update to come.

I went in to get my AC repaired. They put on the Compressor and when I got in the car to leave now we will not turn because I put the belt on tight and it broke it. Then as I was going home the compressor started making noise and Freon leaked out.It took them six hours to do this. Owner very rude. I will advise anyone not to take your car here. I have heard nothing but bad things about them!!!!!y’all did ac work bad.

I would never recommend someone bringing their car here. I have been there multiple times for the same AC issues and have spend thousands trying to fix it. Only to leave each time with nothing resolved and more issues. The most recent time I was quoted about $420 for the parts since I had to drive 3 hours back up to get this issues fixed AGAIN (after if wasn’t properly done the first two times) and when it was time to pay I had to pay over $620. No one explained to me the pricing because the man who quoted me was gone for the day. Oh and let’s not forget I left with my hood sensor broken and my ambient temperature thermostat not working either. AND MY AC STILL DOSE NOT WORK! I want this to be rectified and would rather them refund my money so I can go elsewhere and get quality work done.So to anyone thinking they should bring their car here, please don’t. It’s a money pit and you will leave with more things wrong with your car, that they won’t fix or refund you for all the trouble they continue to cause. If I could rate a zero star I would .

I went in for an oil change and for brakes, the owner gave me the best service ever I could get anywhere else, he was patient, very professional, explained the problem and fixed it. Customer service exceeded my expectation. The whole team was awesome, highly recommend them. We will come again definitely!!!!

I love this place! I always take my car here if somethings wrong or for oil changes and inspections. They go above and beyond and are fast and fairly priced.

For so many years, my car had been serviced by Cody and he did a good job until I was ripped off. He charged me for services not done, which cost about $1,200. It was evident that there were false spare parts charges and services. I got rid of the car and bought a new one, and another one for my daughter. If he had not done what he did to me, I would still be taking both cars to his shop coz their services were exceptionally great! But I was disappointed and now I take both cars to a different auto shop!

Thanks to Kody and Robert and team for repairs done on my truck. They stayed after hours to repair and kody offered me his personel car if i needed to go home. I brought it back in this morning for more repairs and they got right on it and fixes problem...So far they have dealt fair with me and service was great on vehilcle! I i have had several repairs and oil changes here and was satisfied with the outcome!

I just went in for an oil check and I got so much more. The man doing the service on my truck was very thorough, not only did he tell me I was a quart low, but he put air in all my tires!!When it was time to pay, I found out he was the owner...best experience Ive ever had on the road.Thank you Glenn!!

Stopped by today to ask if my transmission fluid could be checked. When the hood was up I was asked to look and see the power steering fluid leaking. I said it was odd as I had just left home and work and there were no stains under the car. The guy said Well, Im not looking at your driveway; Im showing you its leaking. I asked him to go ahead and order the hose, didnt take any info. Said the transmission fluid could not be checked as the system is sealed and I would have to go to a dealer. Found out this was not true at all. Made me feel like youre a woman; you dont know any better. Not happy with their service today.

This shop is just about a full service shop. Dont be fooled that it is only oil change. Thomas, who is a tech there, is the smartest, most honest and talented car mechanic you will ever meet. He went above and beyond repairing various items and did it all for a very reasonable price and saved us a ton of money. Ask for Thomas when you go, you will not be disappointed.

They forgot to put windshield liquid.

My cars engine wasnt working without a boost, so I went to this place and left satisfied. everything was working fine, plus I got an extra bonus where I got my tires pumped with air, a vacuum, and window cleaning all for free. its very upsetting to see all the bad reviews because not once out of thee 100 times I went here left unsatisfied.

Update: Changing review to 4 stars. The owner is trying to make it right with extrawork on the car. I have gone in three additional times as they worked on my A/C.Owner remembered his offer of no labor charges when putting in the switches and he apologized. Forgiven!Original: This week I went in to Kwik Kar Gainesville TX. My back window was stuck in the down position and I couldnt get it up. $195.41 later I had a new motor installed in my 2007 Chevy Areo with 228,000+ miles on it. The switches didnt work back window could not be used. Guys offered to get junk yard switches. I went in today to get the switches put in. My A/C doesnt work because it has a leak. Asked the young man how much are your A/C services. He went inside and came back and said $89.95. I said (being over 65 and on a very tight budget) I cant afford it forget the A/C.Switches were put in BUT they said they would not charge me labor on the switches and then they charged me $58.80 for labor. Needless to say I will never go back again. $360. In one week for a stuck window is too much. Anybody know a honest mechanic in Gainesville??? The guys are very nice and they have Bibles all over the waiting room.

Terrible business run by crooks. I took my car in for an inspection and Kwik Kar failed me over a bad E-Brake. I knew my E-brake was fine so i took it to a shop to get it checked and got proof on paper. So i took it to another inspection place the next day and they passed me with flying colors. So Kwik Kar was just trying to make a quick buck off of me to replace my E-brake when there was nothing wrong with it. I highly recommend that you do not do business with these people. I had my wife and kids with me too so the owner (bald guy) has no sympathy for people. He even charged me the $7 and put me as a fail in the state system so i could not take care of my car that day unless he replaced my E-brake.

Great Alignment service!

So I went there today to get my truck inspected. Before i went i made sure my headlights and taillights, and windshield wipers were all in good condition as to expedite the process. While I waited in the the office the gentleman came in and said my headlight wasnt working and would have to be replaced and asked me to come look. They already had the bulb out and flashed it to me really quick. They pulled a new one out of the box and plugged it in. It worked. Now I knew I had just checked it and it worked before I left the house, and was about to go back inside and approve the new bulb. I stopped mid step and asked to see the bulb which it didnt look like he wanted to give it up. I inspected the bulb and surprise! It wasnt burnt. So I decided to pull their bulb and reinstall mine. Well what do u know... it worked. He proceeded to tell me maybe it was a loose wire. Yeah right buddy. I hate to think that people would do this kind of thing but... its up to you to make this decision. This was my experience today. I will not be returning to this place. Hope this review helps.

Got a state inspection there. They were quick and courteous. Can’t ask for more than that!

For those who want the short version: DO NOT LET THEM TOUCH YOUR CAR!!!I took my car in for service and was thoroughly disappointed. To begin with, they used the wrong oil, (PS Euro LX). They never bothered to ask what oil to use, and they ignored the large sticker under the hood that clearly states to only use Mobil 1 oil. Then they didn’t even fill it completely. They noted on the ticket that the car was ½ quart low before they changed it, but didn’t note that it was still ½ quart low after they changed it. The car requires 8½ quarts. According to the ticket, they only added 8.The ticket also says the tire pressures were 36 for both front and rear. I saw that and checked them myself. The front had 33 and the rear had 42 (+/- 1). This is the pressure recommended by the manufacturer (see photo of label inside driver’s door). Obviously they never even checked the tire pressures, and they didn’t even know the recommended pressures either.According to the ticket, they also checked my battery. I’m not sure which battery they are talking about, the main or the auxiliary, but it doesn’t matter because both are sealed and neither can be checked. They didn’t even look at either battery, as they are in locations that aren’t easily accessible, and no one ever came near either location (I watched the entire time).Item 16 on the ticket is the rear differential. It says it is a front wheel drive. My car certainly is not a front wheel drive, and it has a rear differential. That alone says a lot about their lack of knowledge.When they finished changing the oil, one technician sat in the driver’s seat for about 20 minutes trying to reset the service reminder message. During that time several other techs tried to help him. They would lean in the car and try pushing various buttons, then walk away. Finally the older man told me they were finished. I paid and went outside to get my car. They had pulled it outside but hadn’t left the key in it. I walked around until I found the guy that had my key, went back to my car and started it, only to see the service reminder message. I went back in and told him about it. He said they didn’t know how to reset it. It took me two minutes to find instructions on the internet and to reset it. Two minutes total. There is even an app that gives instructions for every car made. Why don’t they have that?It wasn’t until I walked back out to the car that I noticed the oily handprints on the door and the roof above the door. Not one or two, but a lot. When I got in and started the car, I noticed oily fingerprints all over the touch screen. Then I noticed oily handprints and fingerprints on the steering wheel, the buttons on the steering wheel and the control center, on the touch screen, and all over the center console and shift knob. It was as if they just don’t give a damn about their customers’ property.I won’t take any of my vehicles to them ever again. Some of this is indicative of laziness and indifference, and some is a sign of inexperience and poor training. Add in a lack of supervision and it’s a recipe for disaster. I’m just relieved they did no serious damage to my car. I wasted $100, but it could have been a lot worse.

My husband had his tires rotated and oil changed yesterday. They failed to check the pressure in the tires because he just checked them when he was checking mine. The tire pressure was considerably different in all four tires.
