I have been using Jerry Bush for four years and up until now I thought that I was working with an honest company. Last year they replaced my battery, and the battery came with a full warranty for up to 2 years. Last week the battery died so yesterday I had it towed to Jerry Bush so that they can do the full replacement. The lady had already let me know that if something else was causing my battery to die then I would be responsible for paying for that which was understandable and fine. When I got there, they did the test and put in a new battery BUT she told me that my battery was completely fine and that my alternator is dead and quoted me $500 for a new alternator and labor. I told her that I couldnt pay that and then she told me that my car would be running strictly off of my battery and that I would not be able to drive it far until I replaced my alternator. However, they would leave in the brand new battery and I would have to bring it back if my old battery came back with no defects. I agreed. When I left I took my car to Auto Zone to have them test it-mind you, I did not inform them that I went to the mechanic- and the guy told me that my alternator is working completely fine. I was a little shocked but I said, okay let me try someone else. I also took it to ORileys and the guy there also informed me that my alternator is fine.I am completely pissed and feel like they tried to screw me out of my money because I am a college student and they think that I am naive. Im pissed that I used them for 4 years but they definitely just lost a loyal customer!

Every rating over the last year is 1 star with one 2 star.7 of us took time out of our day to tell you how god awful this place is.Verbally abusive. The blonde woman screamed at me when I tried to ask a question about the price. I’m not use to being screamed at. I just wanted her to stop screaming at me. I had a family member pass away and this was the last thing I needed. The minute I got in my car I finally broke down. I would have paid 4 times what they charged me to just be treated like a human being. Please stay away from this place. I don’t want anyone to go through what I went through.

Worst mechanic in the city of Gainesville Fl very dishonest and unprofessional I took my mirage there because the AC was blowing hot air they charged me $78.00 three hours later after leaving the shop the AC started blowing hot air again they did absolutely nothing then when I went back for a refund they gave me nothing but excuses as to why it wasnt fixed I even showed the secretary the receipt I got from tire plus that showed the problem with the hose having a tear leaking out the freon after they did a diagnostic Jerrys told me they dont even have a diagnostic machine worst mechanic I have ever dealt with in Gainesville. Avoid by all cost!!!

One of the big names in auto repair identified a nail in my tire during a routine oil change and told me I needed a new tire because it was not patchable. I contacted Jerry Bush Auto for new-tire quotes, and not only did they have the best prices and a free tire installation coupon but they also were very friendly, patient, and helpful over the phone. They explained that they would need to evaluate (for free) the tires first before providing a firm recommendation. When I brought my car in for the evaluation, they determined that all I needed was a plug in my tire! They fixed it right there in under 15 minutes and under $15. I was very pleased with the service and honesty I received; they could have easily told me I needed a new tire just to make more money, but they didnt, and thats hard to find! Thanks, guys!

Update 2-22-18 (DO NOT GO THERE !!!!!!)Now that the weather is warming. I turn on the A/C.. Does not work. So I payed 3K for some parts..maybe not sure what they replaced. Just went and saw Jerry Bush, he tossed me out since I was not happy giving him money for NOT repairing anything.Maybe they can change washer fluid.. not sure.. would not let them touch anything.I payed them almost 3k to repair my a/c and heat system two months ago, still neither is working. Have taken the truck back 4-5 times. The a/c is leaking at the spots they fixed and the heat is blowing cold air. Got the heat fixed at another place in a small town in Georgia, cost me another $500.00 to get the heat working. They had installed the damper box backward. Don t know if the a/c is working (too cold now). I have asked for them to pay me the 500.00 it cost me to get it fixed and working.Lets see what happens

My daughter is a student in Gainesville. Her car brakes were shot. Jerry Bush provided free diagnostic and an honest opinion about whether my vehicle was worth repairing. It was NOT. They could have completed the repair I took the car in for, but didnt take advantage of my situation. They provided numbers for recommended salvage yards. I got a fair salvage price and didnt pay one cent for the 3-hour diagnostic! The staff was very helpful.

I went in today with weak AC--had a similar problem with the same car 3 years ago. The old place couldnt find the problem, so they recharged it (adding leak detecting dye) and sent me on my way--for about $150. Jerry Bush Auto Repair couldnt find the leak today, so they added a pound of refrigerant (cools like ice now) and returned my car--for $29.Friendly, honest people and quick service.

If you want mechanics who can’t perform the most basic functions, are constantly way behind schedule, and are the definition of unprofessional, you’ve got the right place.Clearly this isn’t a dealership or retail company with bells and whistles, and I never wanted it to be. But there’s a big difference between the level of disorganization or quirks you expect from this type of business and sheer incompetence and rudeness. How their prices compare, IF they compare, this place couldn’t pay me to touch my car again.I’ve been a customer for over 4 years, so I hesitated to cut ties with them, but the time has come. Here are only a few highlights from over the years, JUST during routine oil changes/tire rotations:*Once, they literally deflated ALL my tires, despite the manufacturer specs being clearly written in the door frame AND the owner’s manual (which they’d found in the glove compartment). Not only could this have resulted in tire failure and blowout, but it triggered a TPMS alert (which only occurs when there’s a severe pressure issue) while I was on the road, and I had to go back to the shop yet again.*Another time, nobody knew how to reset the oil monitoring system in the car, although they had my owner’s manual out and multiple people trying while I waited for over 30 minutes (ending in me finally insisting that it wasn’t necessary, and figuring it out myself within 2 minutes).*One time, I wanted them to attach splash guards while they had the wheels off during a tire rotation—something they said could be easily done. Instead of using the metal screws they came with (which lead the car to rust), I had specifically bought universal-fit auto push rivets, and told Jerry Bush to use those. I came back to find the splash guards attached with the metals screws, because they “couldn’t figure out the push rivets” (which literally just required drilling BIGGER HOLES), without them having even ASKED if it was okay to do so, and having charged me for almost an hour of labor for something that should be one of the most standard procedures.*The final incident occurred when my car had a 9AM appointment yesterday. Because it had literally never happened that my car was ready by their instructed pickup time (which meant indefinite waiting at the shop after arrival), I made sure with the person who scheduled the appointment that it would be ready by no later than 12:30, since I actually had some important events that day. The scheduler’s response was “that’s guaranteed!”, even though I offered to bring it in a different day. When dropping off the car, I mentioned the time constraint again: the receptionist literally laughed and said it wouldn’t be a problem.I showed up at 12:30, and my car wasn’t even CLOSE to being ready. They said the earliest they could get it on the lift was another hour, and called two hours later when it was done. When I asked about a discount to make up for the extreme misinformation and poor service, I was told by Jerry Bush himself that “they weren’t an oil change company,” which for some reason meant “they couldn’t guarantee times.” According to Bush, “there was nothing they could do,” but he insisted that “if you’re just patient, [they] do the best job in town.” I guess that when your whole day consists of breaking your personal smoking record, you don’t understand the concept of people’s time, or that being 2 hours behind a guaranteed appointment isn’t even close to a matter of “patience.”The fact that a business was this unwilling to offer the least bit of compensation to a loyal customer speaks volumes about their character and utter desperation. According to them, routine maintenance and auto-repair is a matter of the rarest and most specialized expertise, and they’re only business in town with it. I only hope that whatever other significantly higher-ranked businesses I choose (i.e. All Star Automotive, Almond’s Automotive, Perfection Auto Repair) can at least somewhat measure up to the number and scale of unbelievable and embarrassing mistakes they’ve been able to manage.

This shop is a good shop. The owners are friendly and treat you with respect. If while when they are doing the basic check of your vehicle and they find something more wrong the the vehicle theyget in touch with you to let you know what they found and explain what this means so you understand. They also let you know if this is something that needa to be fixed right now or if it can what. They dont push selling parts for the car. They truely care about you and your financial issues. They treat you like family
