Ive been going to Hoffman Auto for a few years now 5 or so. Mr. Hoffman and now his sons are the only mechanics in Gainesville I know that are honest, true, and genuine plus do good work. Definantly not one to work on your car and you have to worry about coming back or something else going wrong. Work is done quickly, efficient, and price is always reasonable. On a trip from Wildwood, Florida to Gainesville over nighting in my RV at Cracker Barrel, the next morning an unknown and new sound was heard from the engine. I called a Mobile RV Mechanic in hopes of a diagnoses. Preliminary result; there was an issue with the passenger side lifters and I was advised that my next trip should be to a mechanic who would be able to do the necessary repairs.One recommendation was made and they were too busy. Their recommendation resulted in me going to Dougs shop. I am ever grateful for my luck in finding a unbelievably accommodating and high standard of professional service. Various issues, other than the valve job were discovered. If you know anything about this kind of issue you know that it took some time getting parts and the difficulty accessing the various areas of the motor in the Ford E450 chassis. I was treated like family. I live in my RV and Doug and Cathy assisted me in finding a very reasonable hotel while the work was being done. I cant praise them enough for their kindness and professionalism. Doug was extremely fair with his prices and were what I had estimated in my mind that it would cost. On Tuesday, October 22nd, my 2014 Buick Verano started giving me problems. I was recommended to visit Doug at Hoffman Automotive. He was very sincere about my car issues. He exam-ed the car and explained it was the camshaft sensor. He replaced the sensor and my car was good to go. Later on Tuesday evening, I noticed my car began driving funny. Doug discovered the sensor was a faulty part. Doug changed it out with no additional charge on Wednesday, October 23rd.Mr. Doug and his team treated me like an old friend, instead of a new customer. The overall car service was surprisingly affordable. For those two reasons, I am a customer for life.

Mr. Hoffman got me back up and running after two other mechanics tore it up. He was truly my angel. He does excellent work for a great price 😃❤️

Honest and dependable and I would highly recommend. A friend recommended the Hoffman’s when my oldest was a freshman at UF and had car trouble and we were not disappointed. Its has been 2 and a half weeks and still dont have my car back i paid 2500 up front for a motor has to wait over a week to get it back the first time and it still wasnt running right so i dropped it back off and its been a whole week again and they dont even have my motor in this is just bad service i paid $2500.00 and its already been fixed once
