Quaint book store that has a little bit of everything. Love to stop by for little things here and there. Highly recommended and competitive prices.

Im not sure how much in the way of new books, so on that I cant say. Older books, if youre interested, they have quite a bit and at very reasonable prices. Between my husband and I the highest we saw was around $10. They may have higher, but thats based on our visit.

Huge selections of books of all kinds! As I walked around I was continually surprised at how big the store actually was. I think they mightve been reorganizing or perhaps the last guest left a mess and from what the lady at the counter was saying while we were waiting to check out they seemed to have a lot of computer problems, but I walked out with two books despite only being there for the person I was with.

The owner is kind, helpful and provided excellent service. I enjoyed the low prices and vast selection of books!

True bookstore experience with a great owner who knows her stock well

This is a terrific bookstore! The multi room collection has a lot of depth and a good mix of fiction and non-fiction, old and new. I find nostalgic favorites from my childhood, books I have intended to read for years and new books. The atmosphere is charming and old school. If the Hallmark Channel designed bookstores. The proprietor, Elizabeth Mantoura, is warm and knowledgeable. She will help you find something or leave you alone to browse and browse. I love bookstores and this is one of the best I have found. The owner tells me the store has been around and family owned for 25 years. I understand why.

Amazing, independent bookstore! These are getting harder and harder to find. Always some cool finds here and the place is huge. It’s definitely organized chaos but that’s what makes it part of the fun. Definitely check it out. The owner always gives awesome recommendations if you need one

This store is such a treasure in Friendswood. A locally owned and operated independent book store that buys and sells used book. The selection is massive and the pricing is so reasonable. One of my favorite places to visit!

I love going to used book stores. At Jem it is small quiet and though some of the books are a little outdated they do have a decent amount of newer material. They have Manga, YA books, and adult fiction choices that are newer. (within the last two decades) I would have given them five stars but when you go to visit there are constantly piles of books everywhere and it is a little disorganized. I dont mind this and I feel like it adds to the charm of the store but when I brought my mother to enjoy it with me she had trouble navigating the walkways and I could see this being troublesome for some older/elderly patrons.

Owner/ employee was not friendly towards me, a Black woman, looking to buy historical and mystery novels. No greeting, no request if I needed assistance, and no goodbye, thanks for stopping in! I will never return to this store. No manners; no sales! After posting last month, I never received a response from the owner. After reading other reviews posted last month, I am still wondering why I received such poor treatment while I was visiting the bookstore.

Great eclectic nerdy book shop

Large selection of various genres. They dont catalogue whats in the store, or know where an author or title is shelved, making it difficult to search if you want to find something specific.

Very personal experience. Owner loves and is very knowledgeable about books and its evident. Great selection at great prices. Always has the reading list books we need.

We have a Clinical Laboratory in this building so if your in the Friendswood area and have Doctor orders for Lab work come by and see us. We accept debt cash and also insurance.

Always fun to go look at all the used books and see what treasures you can find. Love this bookstore. The owner is knowledgable, friendly, and knows what she is doing. Besides that, I love the fact that I can get new/used books for a reasonable price. I am personally not a fan of big brand bookstores (i.e. Barnes and Noble) just for the fact that they are corporations. I love being able to support local businesses and I knowing exactly where my money is going.

The lady was so nice :) I called her first to see if she had the book that I was looking for, and when I got there, she recognized me right away.

If you like to dig around for books (I do!), this is your place. It reminds me of old bookstores my parents would take me to when I was little.
