My next adventure to The Small Car Shop was wonderful as usual. Dont misunderstand me, I strongly detest automobile repairs, but they are a necessary part of life if you own a vehicle.On Thursday, my check engine light came on, so I immediately contacted Daryl . He asked some questions over the phone to get a better idea of what was going on. He let me know that I could bring my van in on Tuesday morning. I received a text message with my appointment time and date and on Monday a confirmation reminder of my appointment.Upon arrival, Daryl let me know that he was pretty sure that I needed a new coolant thermostat. He was so sure that he proactively ordered the part for my vehicle so as to minimize any delay in ordering and receiving the thermostat. This is the kind of establishment that you want to do business with. I left with an estimated quote of the repair costs.Late Tuesday I received a call from Daryl letting me know that the van was ready, it was the thermostat and that I had a transmission leak to which he put in new seals and transmission fluid. The cost was a bit more than the estimated cost. However, I felt comforted that Daryl had taken liberty to repair an upcoming breakdown and save me a future trip right back to him in a matter of a couple weeks, if that long.I picked up my vehicle on Wednesday and felt very well taken care of. Daryl takes pride in his work, business and his customers. i am grateful that an attorney friend of mine recommended Daryl and his Small Car Shop.If you are in need of auto service or repairs, check him out, you wont regret it.

Darrell and his team are AMAZING. I had an issue for literally YEARS with a sound on my car. No other shops could figure out the problem, even the actual honda dealer themselves could not figure out the problem. After researching tons of shops I came across The Small Car Shop and I am so thankful I did! Darrell took everything serious from the very first moment I spoke with him. He treated me with respect, was honest, and his price was absolutely fair and truthful. He literally is an honest man who clearly has values as a person and business owner. The best part is my car is perfect now. I have had it back for months now and it continues to run perfectly. He found the problem and fixed it, the turn around time was about three days and thats only because he had to order a part otherwise it wouldve been the next day. Darrel is honest and very good at his job i wish I wouldve gone to him sooner fair price for great work too many people confuse a cheap mechanic with a good one. My car hass 122k and sounds brand new and runs amazing and was affordable will NEVER go anywhere else.

After pretty much getting scammed at another mechanic I gave this place a try and I was really impressed by the service we received. They gave us an honest evaluation on our car and the final price was less than the initial estimate which my wallet enjoyed. They even shuttled us home and picked us up when our car was ready. Ive been going to Darrel for more than 20 years and hes serviced three of my vehicles during that time (we keep them for many years until it no longer makes financial sense to keep them). A couple things I appreciate about Small Car Shop are: 1) Darrel will let me know what my car needs without pushing me any direction and, 2) hell let me know when a specific repair can wait. Its important to form a good relationship with your auto mechanic and Darrel is the best one Ive had. I now have a new car which doesnt require as many shop visits in this early stage of its life, but Ill be taking it to Small Car Shop when its time.

Yesterday I got my car fixed there.Darrel was very friendly and helpful. I took my car in later than I was supposed to and he still took my car in late and was very kind about it. They started on my car around 11:30am and by 2:14pm I was already down the street driving in my car. Price was very fair and my car sounded and drove great. Will definitely recommend.

Was least helpful over the phone. I just asked how much a specific part and labor was going to be. I expected (from other reviews) that The Small Car Shop was going to be fair with their words and prices. This was the most expensive of all other 6 places I called and the most arrogant and rude. I would not trust taking my car here; just another place after your money and potentially gives sneaky charges.

There is literally nowhere else I will take my car to in Fresno. They replaced all the brake pads on my car for $400. I do not know of a single place in this area that would deliver a service like that fora price that reasonable.

Thought shops have scan tools and equipment to diagnose problems with our vehicles? Well in this case the shop doesnt even want to take in my car after explaining what problems it has because it might take to much time to handle it when Im clearly throwing money at them to fix it. Never heard of auto shops not wanting to take a car in to diagnose a problem and then proceed to explain how they can go about to fix it to see if I would like to proceed with the repairs or not.Dont know how this have 5 stars.But blowing off a customer because the customer is not really sure what is wrong with it is just wrong.Im not the ASE with the credentials.Auto shops are Auto shops,Not Auto undecisive.

Good shop, they did exactly what I requested and everything seems fine. Recommended especially for Toyota, but they are honest and do good work. I would use them again when needed.

This shop is very professional, they saved me money on A/C repair by replacing parts that needed replacing instead of just adding on parts that did not need to be replaced like some other major brand shops that I have been to.
