I couldnt say enough great things about this dealership. They have been easy to work with and more than accommodating. I cant ever say I have had a pleasant experience as a whole from a dealership. But from the first email to signing the papers they have been great to us. I will finish my full review once the final work is complete and we receive the vehicle, however so far its been a pleasure.

I am not entirely sure what’s going on here. I went to look at (and was planning to buy) a vehicle with my mom and a friend. We were prepared to pay cash. We were not greeted with even a hello. Just “Julia? Okay do you want to test drive?” I loved the car. I had a local mechanic look it over for me and found an oil leak and that the ball bearings needed replaced. He estimated $400 to fix the bearings and could not find what the cause of the oil leak. We wanted to have them meet us lower due to it needing work and it estimating the asking price at least $1000-2000 over it’s worth on many different sites. (Including the one the bank uses) we also wanted to look at a warranty and the salesman told us “that’s going to be like.. so expensive. You don’t even want to think about that price.” We were prepared for it to be a couple thousand and sure enough when we had to ASK him to go find out, it was what we had expected. Is it common practice to tell people it’s too expensive for them? I am not sure if it’s because we were women he didn’t think we would know what we wanted? I also asked for a copy of the service report and was told “I don’t think we do that. I don’t know how to find that.” I had to ask him to ask someone who would be able to get that information. Considering the issues I would have to pay out of pocket to fix and that we were paying cash, we asked to have them meet us in the middle and we were told no. No room to help or even counter offer other than $400 lower considering there was things needing fixed and paying cash. All around, it’s okay we didn’t buy the vehicle. But the salesman knew none of the answers to our questions, talked down to us, and told us what we could and could not afford. I would have loved to buy that car today, but with how we were treated, I chose not to. Also the salesman had to be asked to wear a mask when we all were as one of us is immunocompromised. I was not impressed.

Great service experience. Dealt with Lee the service advisor with a tire wear issue. Gave me their recommendations and ultimately just did a tire rotation. He was never pushy or tried to upsell replacement parts. And the pricing was very reasonable for the time I was there. Will definitely come back here if/when I need new tires or other work done. Also, they have free snacks and water/pop in waiting area. Doesnt get better than that.

Went to Barkaus in Freeport and purchased a vehicle for our daughter. Turned out where the tie rod is was very rusty and very unsafe to drive. Also a brake line leak. Unfortunately we were told it was inspected by them and another place and it is in great condition and safe. We told them it would be for our 16 year old and would they put their child in that vehicle. They said absolutely. Use to think they were a pretty good dealership but we also bought another vehicle from them and it had quite a few issues that we had to keep fixing. Called barkau about the jeep we bought for our daughter and the sales manager hung up on us.

Tried purchasing a 2018 Ram diesel from this dealer and wasted an entire day to get nowhere with them. I let them know I had plans that day, but would like to pick the truck up, so I could wait a bit. I waited over half the day and got nowhere. I sent them proof of income for my loan application and they took 45 minutes to tell me the pictures were to blurry. But only after waiting around all day already. I then got no response after re-sending those pictures. NONE. Then conveniently the truck happened to sell a week later.The only reason I’m leaving a 2 star review is because of the salesman I was dealing with. He was great. However the dealership itself has guaranteed I’ll never go back.

Found a vehicle online at Barkau Dodge. Went through the process, they brought the vehicle to my home. Taking my trade back for evaluation. This would be my fourth vehicle. One new the others preowned. The fourth vehicle was a disabilty van, that is badly needed. About 4 months ago, I bought a little five door hybid. It was great at first but my health has taken a down turn, thus the need for the van. The outcome was an offer of 8,000 for my car that I bought there three months ago at the tune of 16,000. I do believe in making a profit, just not all of it from me. Then I was told the van would book out like a regular van at about eight thousand. They were asking 19,000. Unfortunately my relationship ends here with them. Retort, trade was driven less than a thousand miles and sat in a garage. Which is it, I paid 16,00 or I did not? Fees and taxes are always apart of sales, they are included in the total price. Where in my words did I say the van was not worth the asking price. It states your exact words. The vans value to the lending agencies is of a normal van and not one with a mobility device.

My husband and I drove c from Florida to be with family for Christmas. Once we hit IL the temperature was a lot colder! The nitrogen in the tires was getting very low. Thankfully your service department filled is up so we could continue safely. Very nice young man also. Polite. Thank you for your service.

Our SUV is running and feeling like new. We could not be happier with the service. I purchased a pre-owned vehicle from Sawicki Motors in Freeport Illinois. Trying to find the particular vehicle I was looking for was tough locally (Minnesota) so I expanded my search nationwide. Its not easy trying to purchase a vehicle sight unseen outside the immediate locality. I came upon Sawicki after contacting over 30 different dealers around the country. Bailey Lauder, the sales consultant instantly put my mind at ease and earned my trust. She answered all of my questions and went the extra mile, even answering my texts late at night. Other dealers only sent spam email replies. Huge difference! Bailey did a FaceTime walk through of the vehicle as well as negotiating a very competitive price for me. She also knew I would be flying into town, and she gave me excellent guidance as well as sending a driver to pick me up. The vehicle had two open recall items that the previous owner didnt bother to address. In a quick turnaround, Sawicki took the vehicle into the local Mini Dealership and had the repairs completed prior to my arrival, saving me the time and trouble of having to do that myself. The Business Manager, Mark Whitehead was also friendly, courteous and professional. I had a wonderful buying experience from beginning to end. I would definitely purchase from them again. $60 to re-program the NAV and it is not fixed. Was told it would cost $2700 plus install to get a new radio. NUTS! Van is a 2013. Chrysler wont do anything. Many vehicles have the same problem and there is no recall. Spent $234 on maintenance and didnt even get a vaccum or a wash, lol. It appears to be disorganized.

My parents were looking for a nice used car for me, and one that they could use occasionally too. Kenny would let us know when a car came in that might be of interest to us. He is never too pushy about it, but helpful and courteous. He found us a one owner, used, Infinity from a reliable individual. We were able to make a deal on it without any hassle and everyone was pleased. I really dont want to give Sawickis ANY stars because of the way i was treated when buying an older model car from them but for me to publish this review i had to give them 1.over the past year and a 1/2 ive owned it, ive had to put in almost $2000 worth of repairs.my mechanic told me he couldnt prove anything but thinks the odometer was turned back because of the condition of the underside of the car. the catalytic converter was held together with putty and i had to replace it. there were other issues as well including bad struts and issues with the air conditioner.i called Mr Sawicki and spoke to him and he basically said there was nothing he wanted to do to make this right. notice how i worded that? nothing he WANTED to do... because we all know he could have done something if he had wanted to....so disappointed. i will never go back and i will continue to tell anyone who asks about where to purchase a car and make sure they hear my story.

I think its funny this place has to scam people by sending them letters in the mail saying that you won a big cash prize just so you can get there n listen to them try and rip you off with one of theyre over priced used cars with no warranty and then they give you a crappy 5 dollar tool set and try to make it seem like you couldve actually won something. lol
