My wife Erika and I celebrated our 22 aniversary at this beautiful romantic getaway. The butterflies everywhere reminded us of what is important in life and to turn off the technology and relax! The SPA is beautiful and you wont be disappointed with the service. The quaint cottage we stayed in was precious. Happy wife, happy life!

Booked a cottage for the night for a family members wedding in town, my mom spoke with someone about being able to check in early since the check-in time is 3 pm and the wedding was at 4 pm & we needed to change and get ready after our 5.5-hour drive. We arrived at 2:30 with no staff on-site, and no instructions to get into our cottage posted where they said it would be. We called and were transferred to a voicemail system where we left a message and call back number. The call was never returned and we had to find our cottage in the dark at 10 pm. We have yet to receive a call back (now over a week later), or an email back when we inquired if something was accidentally left in the room. The cottages themselves were cute, but we were awakened in the middle of the night by a large spider crawling across my mothers arm in the bed. Overall, would not recommend due to the poor customer service alone.

Wonderfully relaxing and romantic weekend! Had a small, one room cabin all to ourselves. Clean & delightful accommodations. 2 rocking chairs and a porch swing on each front porch. Comfortable king bed. Ceiling fan and good AC to keep us comfortable. Spacious bathroom. Awesome water pressure and soaps/conditioned in shower. Main grounds beautifully manicured and filled with butterflies and hummingbirds. Easy parking. Away from hustle and bustle of Main Street, but still very convenient. Restaurant & Gift Shop were still closed due to COVID. These being open would only have enhanced our experience. Cant wait to go back!

I saw this handsome stranger at the herb farm. Its a beautiful garden to walk through and shop. The displays really show you what can be done in your own back 40. Lots of honey bees kissing the lavender and humming birds on the honeysuckle. Its definitely worth the time to stroll and enjoy the beauty.

We were all prepared to like this restaurant, but unfortunately it was not great. Service was slow to begin with, then our food took a long time to come. When it arrived it was not what we had ordered; my companions ate theirs but due to an allergy they had to remake mine. All together a lunch that should have been pretty quick took nearly 2 hours. The gardens were in pretty poor repair (and it was not due to the season, per my companion who is a master gardener). We were really hoping to be immersed in a wonderful site with great food, but that is not how it turned out.

The cottage we stayed in was clean, quiet and spacious. A cat was waiting on the porch of our cottage. Always a good sign in my mind. We stayed Sunday and Monday night in November and the weather was glorious. Not too many people were staying at the herb farm. It may be because of the Coronavirus or it might have been because it was off days. They website has an Adobe Flash gallery which was not viewable on phones nor my computer which I did not have Flash on so I saw very few pictures of the cottages. I was hesitant to stay here based on so few pictures. Im happy I did stay but they may want to update their site to HTML5. I found very few reviews of the cottages and mostly reviews of the restaurant which was sadly temporarily closed due to the Coronavirus. The cottages are worth it and Im surprised there are not more reviews of them. There are 14 cottages and two appear to be ADA. Normally my reviews are funny but youll have to suffer this time around since I have nothing left to give after 8 months of Coronavirus.

We stayed at the herb farm for our 7th anniversary. It was the most enjoyable experience. We were advised that the check in was contactless, and where we could find our envelope with instructions to follow. I really appreciated that to limited contact. Though we were immediately greeted by the 2 most sweetest cats! We are absolute cat lovers so we enjoyed their company during our stay. The place is absolutely peaceful! So quiet and a perfect getaway to think and spend time with the one you love. No noisy hallway at the hotel, lengthy check-in, stress of going far to get luggage and travel up and down stairs/elevators. I appreciated all the ease of being at this place immediately. Though the restaurant/bar is closed this does not effect my review whatsoever. For breakfast we ordered local, did a curbside pick up and enjoyed in our room or outside on rockers. Upon entry it was clean. The room has what you need. Very farmhouse modern, clean and convenient. Wine glasses are avaliable in room, small coffee maker, robes, iron/ironing board, soaps, plenty of towels. They even had a complimentary essential oil roller on bed as a small gift. Super cute as I love homemade rollers. The bed was very comfortable. My husband even mentioned how comfy the pillows were and how well he slept. What I can hope for is that they add a shower curtian to the walk-in shower. While showering the water gets absolutely everywhere with the way the shower head is angled. It goes all over floor in bathroom. This does not effect my stay or review. Just hoping a simple rod and curtain gets added for safety reasons. I was going to choose a bed and breakfast downtown, or something with a hot tub. Im glad I didnt and chose to stay here. Especially with covid around. I was at ease and relaxed staying here. Hopefully next time I can check out the spa!

I am giving it 3 stars because the Bloody Marys were amazing. If it wasn’t for that, I would have given it 2. First, it was not very busy. It is a cute little place. Our waiter disappeared after we placed our order and never saw him again until he brought out our food, which was cold when we finally got it. It took a long time to also get our appetizer (hummus- which was tasty) Then we found that some of the items on the menu, aren’t actually in the food. The portions are large, but the breakfast wasn’t the best thing we ate here. Then we waited for a long time to get our checks. Cute place, but the four of us won’t be coming back.

This is our Fredericksburg brunch spot from now on! The only problem that we had with the menu is that everything looked amazing and we wanted it all!I came in with a group of seven people. We were seated right away.We started off with a cinnamon roll. Wow! We just ordered one for the whole table and it was the perfect size. The mimosas came out, they were a bit sweet for my personal taste, but some people love that. If you dont like super sweet mimosas there is a vast array of other drinks available. When we finally made our decisions and our food came out, it was divine! Wonderful flavors from fresh herbs delighted our taste buds. The restaurant itself is quite pretty, with beautiful gardens and nice touches of art.We will definitely be back!

The place looks nice and cozy. All Staff where friendly.But.... we ordered a flat bread appetizer, when it came, it was an average pizza, and although pizza could be classified as a flat bread, it is not what you would expect when ordering an appetizer. Then our three meals came. The stuffed chicken was nothing more than a portion of a breast then rolled with the filling. But it was rubbery and not pleasant to eat. So we asked if they could take it away and write it off, so they kindly did.The other two dishes, pork loin and a beef ribs, they where okay, but not amazing, and in all 3 dishes, the side dishes where very similar, featuring bland steamed carrots, kale (not too bad) and lots of mash potatoes. The dishes are overpriced for what you receive ($30 ish), as there isnt really any skill applied by their Chef on the preparation of such.If you still considering eating here, I would recommend ordering a main for two people, as they are very big servings of side dishes in particular

We enjoyed staying in the cottage. This is a comment for the restaurant. We only had brunch and it was underwhelming. My main suggestion is specifically in reference to the Brussel Sprouts side. If youre going to put bacon in them, please state it on the menu. Also it is not necessary to put plastic straws in every single customers water. In addition to reducing plastic use, inventory dollars could be saved by losing the straws. Of course if someone asks for them oblige, but chances are most adults would be OK drinking water out of a glass without a straw. It seems that an Herb Farm may represent a more natural way of life and could set an example by taking action in reducing this demand on unnecessary plastic use.

My wife and I decided to head to the hill country for breakfast this morning and we picked Fredericksburg Hill Farm as a place wed never eaten at before. Im very glad we did.We were served by an attractive young lady named Jorden. She was very kind and had an easy laugh and demeanor that made us feel like we were regulars at a family restaurant. We also thought the hostess seemed to be joyful and excited to help us find a seat as she showed us to a table. All indications of a very happy and well trained staff, which is a key element we look for in great places to eat.My wife and I each had poached eggs in hollandaise sauce in slightly different forms. Both dishes were executed very well, were tasty, and were surprisingly affordable. The nature of the dish and professionalism in execution would have suggested a higher price than we paid, so we were very happy. I also thought the coffee was particularly good, and my wife greatly enjoyed one of the better cappuccinos that shes had.A very attractive landscape, a beautiful and quiet cafe, excellent staff, and very tasty food at a great price have put the Herb Farm on our list of repeat restaurants. My only complaints about the place, and added for the sake of completeness, would be that it opens quite a bit later than I would really like to eat breakfast. If we were to stay the night, Id really like to have coffee and fruit available by at least 0700. I also would have liked to see more use of herbs. Named the Herb Farm, I really would have appreciated seeing more herbs grown on site and specifically cited on the menu. Its the sort of small detail that I believe would really put a very good restaurant into the realm of exceptional and unique.Sans the herbs, the food was still incredibly good and combine with the service to earn a solid fifth star.
